About

A laid back slice of life RP, inspired by a plenty of 80's media, but mostly akin to Netflix's Glow/Hollywood but set in the 1980's. We look at the lives of a group of young people, who aspire to be something in the glamorous world of Hollywood. We follow their journey, struggles and ambitions, and see how their lives interconnect with one another. This will mostly be a character, story driven rp, without any strict linear story line but mostly dependent on character development and the interaction between characters and the world. The rp will be set around a number of key places in LA, and probably one area where the players will gather at some point in the story. (A party/event perhaps?) For now that's the gist of the rp, I will probably add more details and plots in the future.

Roles

I wont be too nitpicky on the roles, though I'd prefer having a variety of careers, personalities and aspirations. A wide eyed musician from a small town, an overpriveledged actor/actress, an overzealous wrestler, a discreet part time porn star or a contemplative screenwriter. Just to name a few examples. But mostly, I'd prefer to leave everything to the player's creative freedom!

- I am quite nit picky on face claims. To have the full 80's experience, and maybe add a little twist to this rp, I will only allow realistic FC's from 80's 90's.
-RP may contain mature content.
-Respect other players. IC drama is the only kind of drama allowed.
-A minimum of 2 paragraph post per week, ideally.

Joey grew up in a rather, problematic household. His father being a abusive, alcoholic deadbeat, his family struggled with poverty in the harsh concrete jungles of new york. With his mother struggled to work as a clerk in a laundry shop, the family has barely enough to get by let alone support all 6 brothers. Joey never had positive role model growing up, and struggled to maintain betterment in his life. He hung out with the wrong crown, did petty crimes, and overall became a chaotic and unruly young man with no real and positive direction in his life.

His passion for movies was the only good thing that kept him grounded. In a way it became the light that guided him out of that dark place. He secretly recorded rolls on his spare time; at school, in the streets or just behind their yard. He had the ability to mold something amazing out of the films that he would record.

During his highschool years, (which he dropped out a year after this event.) He became involved with a girl. They say love tends to make people do spontaneous things, yet in this case, it could only be the thrill and excitement of it, specially something that is young and naive. After few weeks of dating they both ran away and decided to marry in a church, just after 3 weeks of marrying. Of course the marriage didnt last as their vows would tell them otherwise, and Joey as quickly as he made his mind up to marry, had found someone new. And another. And another one.

Joey one day decided he wanted to start fresh. Somewhere where nobody knows him, so he could be someone else. His intent was also to pursue his dreams, so he packed up his bags and made his way to LA. Surprisingly, he made a rather, cozy life living there despite the harsh competition. Sure he may have lied his way in a few screenings, Joey managed to get his big break in Hollywood as a cinematographer.

Virtues:
