Build: Lean but muscular

Character

Personality: The best way to describe Katsurou would be to call him a battle maniac. He lives for the thrill of the fight and enjoys killing his enemies just as much as he does the actual combat. Due to this, Katsurou is essentially fearless, having made peace with his possible death long ago. In fact, he considers it to be an honor to die in battle against a worthy opponent, though he'll never go down easily. Furthermore, he tends to prefer simple solutions to things without many moving parts and has little patience for subterfuge and trickery, though he is by no means stupid. He is a straightforward and honest person, though he has a propensity for bluntness, who says what he thinks regardless of who he's talking to, holding precious little regard for authority. He also has little desire for material things, seeing money as a means to an end and having a very low inclination towards romance. As such, it is nigh impossible to buy him off or bribe him, meaning that he does what he wants, when he wants, simply cutting down all who stand in his way. All that being said however, he does hold respect for those who prove themselves to be capable warriors and he adheres to a strict personal moral code, not fighting noncombatants or those who have surrendered unless they have committed a grave sin.

Bio: Katsurou was born the second son of the Himura clan, a wealthy and influential Senshin clan in the Kodai Empire, known for their military strength and ferocity in battle. As such, Katsurou was trained from the time he could lift a sword in the arts of combat, showing exceptional promise despite his young age. However, his future as a warrior was put into jeopardy when he was fifteen. He was walking in the city with his older brother when a man, who was hurrying along, ran into him unexpectedly and sent the young boy falling into the path of an oncoming carriage. Katsurou managed to roll mostly away, escaping death in the process, but his left arm was caught under the wheels and mangled. His brother immediately called the guards and both the man who had run into Katsurou and the carriage driver were swiftly arrested and imprisoned, both to be executed, while Katsurou was transported with all possible haste back home for treatment.

Despite the best efforts of the doctors they could not save his arm and had to amputate it do to the irreparable damage. At this point, if Katsurou was a part of a normal family, his path to being a warrior would have effectively ended there and he would have to find another path. However, this was not the case due to two reasons. First, the Empire had, just months before, finally opened its boarders to a select few, among whom were some well respected dokkalf craftsmen. Second, his family had the resources with which to hire one of said craftsmen to fit Katsurou with a cutting-edge eitr-powered mechanical arm. It took a lot of dedicated work and practice but Katsurou got used to the arm, updating it as new technologies came out and he grew, and was able to reattain and then surpass his former skill at the arts of combat. However, the arm was not the only thing he acquired from the foreigners that were admitted into the empire, he also gained an intense curiosity about the rest of the world, a curiosity that manifested itself as wanderlust. He asked his father for permission to travel but was rejected and given extra training as instead.

In fact, he didn't end up getting the chance to travel until five years after the accident as, when he was nineteen, the Oshiro clan, another prominant Senshin house, attacked the Himura clan due to a perceived slight against them by Katsurou's father. This came as no surprise for most of the subjects of the empire as it was well known that the two clans despised each other, as they had for generations, and that each was constantly on the lookout for an excuse to war with the other with the intent of wiping them out. As such, Katsurou was called to the battlefield for a campaign that ended up lasting for about a year, deepening the hatred each clan held for the other. It was during this time that Katsurou earned his monikers of "Red Demon" and "The Himura Clan's Butcher" from his brutal effectiveness on the battlefield and for the ferocity, notable even among his clan members, with which he fought. After the fighting was over, Katsurou once more asked his father for permission to travel the world, receiving reluctant approval only in light of his achievements in battle and the popularity he had gained from the soldiers as a result.

From there, Katsurou boarded Jörmungandr and began to see the world for himself, working as a mercenary to cover the cost of tickets and other basic necessities as his father had only given him a set amount of money at the beginning of his journey and no other financial aid. Even so, the young man had the time of his life, exploring, fighting, and honing his skills as he traveled around the countries for the next year, something he continues now.

Combat/Livelihood

Skills: Having trained all his life Katsurou is incredibly skilled in swordfighting and hand-to-hand combat. He is also proficient in shooting, though he rarely practices.

Traits: Katsurou is able to ignore wounds in the heat of battle, allowing him to fight on after taking massive amounts of punishment. He also has prodigious vitality, meaning that he can recover from wounds that would likely kill other people. He is also very nimble and agile, as well as being quite fast.

Weapon: Katsurou uses a large nodachi he keeps sheathed on his waist as his primary weapon. The sword has no special features save from being very well made and holding an incredibly sharp edge. Other than that, he carries a massive hand cannon on the back of his belt. The gun is fed by a 3 round magazine and is over a foot long, resulting in a high caliber, substantial recoil, and poor ranged accuracy. However, this is not a problem for Katsurou as he fights primarily at close range and only uses the pistol if he can't use his sword, generally also at extremely close range. His last weapon is a short sword he keeps by his nodachi.

Gear: Katsurou's mechanical arm has an eitr-powered grappling gun built into it with 20ft of cable. The grapple itself is shaped like a barbed arrowhead and is designed to pierce into walls to anchor itself. Furthermore, the arm itself is armored and can stop sword strokes and even low-caliber bullets. The arm itself is run on a small-scale core that only needs replacement every several years while the grapple gun operates on a cell loaded into the forearm. Each cell has the power to fire the gun five times.

looks pretty good, perhaps a little more detail on the Eitr powered arm  as in what type? and does it need to be replaced as the eitr drains. (if so how often does it need to be recharged/replaced?)
