Hello

Nerdicus

Magic Eight Ball
Hello, I'm new here (if not obvious by obligatory 1st forum post of "Hi"). I have never been on a site like this before. I don't know what to expect, but I'm sure I'll like it here. My interests for RP's that I see here so far are at the very least superheroes, sci fi and maybe video games (I'm kind of a gamer). Too be completely honest I have no idea what to do here so if someone could help me out, explain the ropes or something it would be much appreciated.

Howdy, you lovelie, you!

Name's Auren, and you'll see me floating around the site. Mostly I hang out at the Shoutbox which is like this place's chat-room. Everyone there is always super friendly, so don't hesitate to say hello if you ever have the chance. (Though, you'll need to be a member for 24 hours and have 10 posts to access it. Details on what else you can do once you meet those requirements are

There are roleplays here that are great for any kind of roleplayer! That's the best thing about this site, and we have two different kinds of roleplays,

http://www.rpnation.com/forums/thread-roleplays.55/threads

http://www.rpnation.com/forums/thread-roleplays.55/ and

http://www.rpnation.com/categories/forum-roleplay-list.403/forums

http://www.rpnation.com/categories/forum-roleplay-list.403/. Threads only offer three tabs, In-Character/Overview, Out Of Character, and Character Sign-Up. Forums offer an endless amount of threads, and some options for adding multiple forums. Forum roleplays are best for extensive worlds, but that shouldn't keep you from checking them out! They are fairly new to RpN, so you'll see a lot of members testing what they can do within the RPs there. Both offer a different amount of control over your roleplay creation, and what you can do with your roleplay has endless possibilities!

If you have questions involving roleplays, wanna show off some creative work, or discuss general topics, you can check out our

Hey Nerdicus! Welcome to the site! I'm a newbie so I'm learning the ropes just like you are :)

I hope to see you around!

Nice to meet you people. I hope to learn swiftly and RP sooner than later... although I still don't know how to do it on the site :P is there some kind of format or something? Either way, I already have an invite to an RP that interests me. As soon as I have a clue about what I'm doing, I think I'll join up. Any advice for a noob?

I'm not sure what you mean by format. Do you mean using bbcode to make the post look pretty or just how rps on this site work in general? :3

As far as most rps work, you post a character profile (something with a name an other basic info. Some GMs have very specific things they'd like in a profile). You then wait for your character to be approved, and from there the GM will let you know when you may start posting in-character in the roleplay. :)

I hope that helps. You can also look at other roleplays that are in progress and see examples of how some of them are run/how they work.
