  Tsu has the ability to manipulate and control plants on his whim. He uses this ability, mostly, to command a special type of plant that he has allowed to grow inside of him and feed/grow off of his Nen. The flower in question is known in most parts of the world as a 'Fire Petunia' and it is notorious for its toxic pollen and barbed vines. Using his hatsu, he is able to make the plant indestructible which he can then use either as a weapon or a shield. Tsu is able to control its growth and the toxin emitted (which is slow) and with his emitter abilities he is able to use the barbs as a projectile.
  
  
  Note: The toxic emitted from the flower's pollen is a potent neurotoxin that spreads in the air slowly. Early effects include: memory loss, incapability of performing basic functions (walking, speaking) and prolonged exposure will result in the halt of involuntary functions such as heart beat, breathing and digestion (10-20 minutes depending on the victim).

  Born in the Yorknew sewers by a gang-affiliated mother, Tsubaki grew up void of almost all sensations of life like the sun and sky. His mother, prior to her criminal connections, worked as a florist and would always tell Tsu about the lovely flowers she would tend to. Tsu always loved her stories, but he was so adjusted to the sewer life that it began to get to him. Like his mother expected, but the none-the-less loathed, Tsu got involved with a Yorknew gang that held sovereignty over the sewers. A skilled fighter, and clever, Tsu quickly rose up the ranks and became co-leader by the age of sixteen. However, it was also at this age that his mother would fall ill and die of grief. Depressed and no longer held back due to his mother's affiliations, Tsu left the sewers for the city above. Coincidentally the area he climbed up to was very close to a flower shop and upon first glance at the lovely pedals of a petunia, he became inspired and wrote poetry.
  
  
  It wouldn't be long until Tsu would hear about the Hunter exam and out of boredom and aspiration he entered into it; but would only pass his second attempt. Strange and obscure, Tsu created his own type of hunter, the beauty hunter: a man or woman who sought the hidden secrets of charm the world held. Founding his new posse of hunters, the Precious Petunias, Tsu would train in Nen and seek for anything he deemed charming or alluring. By the age of 30, he became a known poet and published author.
  
  
  Intrigued by the grace of battle, Tsu entered the heavens arena in search of a fighter whom would captivate his spirit and inspire his upcoming novel: The Dance of Pedals.

  Being born into a family of assassins, she was never a normal girl. She was the second born child out of 3 children. Her parents trained her relentlessly, and were happy with her progress. Her potential was great. She always completed her contracts with ease, and never disobeyed her parents. The only way she disobeyed her parents was by asking her Grandfather to train her in Nen usage. He did, and she got much stronger, even becoming a specialist Nen User.
  
  
  She was a shoe in for head of the family. She had the attention of her older brother, (Hitoshi Zoldyck,) her parents, and her grandfather. She misinterpreted that as affection, and she deluded herself into believing she was content. That all changed when her younger brother, Takeo Zoldyck, was born. He was born with even more potential for Nen than she had ever had. That's not to say she wasn't powerful, but her brother had even more potential than her father.
  
  
  He was the clear choice for head of the family. Ever since the day he was born, Ivela has worked relentlessly to become stronger than him, even though at the level he is at now, he wouldn't stand a chance against her.
  
  
  Still, his potential kept him at the head of the family, and, while she didn't hate her little brother, she wanted her spot back. She wanted to lead her family. So she trained more than he ever would, developing her abilities and strengths to an alarming level. Still, his potential alluded her.
  
  
  However, natural potential is no match for hard work...right? Ivela continues to train, to try and get stronger. She will do anything to lead her family, aside from murdering her little brother. Her older brother would kill her for that. A fear of him has been ingrained in her mind since she was born, although she could probably win against him.

  Hatsu: Clement’s nen is able to mimic the properties of antimatter, allowing him neutralize and erase any form of matter with his nen so long as makes an equal or greater amount. Since anti-matter also contains mass and--like matter--can take various forms, Clement is able to manipulate his nen, shaping the black substance he produces into anything he wishes(sword, gun, shield, water, gum, etc) with ease. This makes it quite versatile. However, due to the nature of antimatter, it is constantly being neutralized as it comes into contact with air particles. Therefore it’s not something he’d want to use willy-nilly.

  Clement’s life was nothing special. He had a mother and a father just like everyone else. He lived in a two-story house in the suburbs with a picket fence, has two younger twin sisters, and a pet dog. In fact, one can say that his life was fairly good. His parents loved him. He wasn’t abused, mistreated, or even bullied as a kid. Yet he was never happy. Nor was he unhappy. It was probably a trait he’d been born with since he had absolutely no reason to be the way he was. As a child, Clement tried everything, (music, art, sports, etc.) searching desperately for a hobby…something give his boring life meaning.
  
  
  His parents had the money and indulged his search because even they could see there was something wrong with their son. He was a loner in class. He had no friends. He never seemed happy. One day, when he was 10, he and his parents visited a fortune teller who told him he was cursed by the lingering nen of a dead Hunter. The curse was drawing away all his happiness. How that happened Clement wouldn’t learn until he was much older, but, apparently, he’d been cursed for a very long time without him knowing. The fortune teller, who happened to nen-user, was able remove the curse by awakening the nen within him and taught him meditation techniques to help heal from the aftereffects of the curse. She also suggested strengthening his body to help better control his newly awakened aura nodes.
  
  
  That was the last he’d seen of Hinata Ichihara. Two years later, Clement took the hunter exam and passed, becoming a licensed hunter. He wanted to find out why he was cursed as child. As it turned out, his mother had dated a Blacklist Hunter before marrying his father and he’d been born the day the very same day the blacklist hunter died while chasing a criminal. Clement deduced that the Blacklist Hunter still loved his mother and loathed the fact that he was born. Or perhaps he was the reason his mother married his father. Whichever the case, Clement solved the mystery about how he became and why he became cursed with unhappiness as a child. The revelations didn’t make him any happier.
  
  
  Clement considered selling his hunter license, since he no longer had any use for it. However, he wondered what he would do with his life then. Clement had no goals. Nothing to look to look forward to. Even if he returned to his hometown, a small city called Meisling, he would still be unhappy. That’s when one of the new hunters who passed with him, an energetic old man, suggested Clement partner with him and become a treasure hunter.
  
  
  “Travel with me and find the greatest treasure in the world. One you find it, you’ll find your happiness.”
  
  
  Clement went on many adventures with the old man named Regis. They chased rumors of mysterious jewels, roamed the catacombs of ancient, dug up religious relics, and even found the treasured kitten of an old lady. Some they found, some they didn’t. Clement had to learn to appraise the worth of the “treasures”, they found since the Regis’s definition of treasure didn’t fill their pockets. However, those days were probably the happiest days of Clement’s life. During those days, Clement learned to how to manipulate nen and began progressing as a true hunter.
  
  
  Sadly happiness rarely lasts forever. Three years after partnering with Regis, the old man was killed a thief with nen-abilities who attacked them at their campsite. Clement killed her in turn. Upon seeing death and killing a person for the first time, Clement was able to finally grasp the concept he wanted his nen to mimic. The opposite of all matter and everything existence. Antimatter. He wanted to create a nen that could erase everything he didn’t like. He saw beauty in nothingness and destruction. At that moment, Clement realized what an ugly person he was. He also realized that he didn’t care.
  
  
  After burying the two corpses at the campsite, Clement continued as a treasure hunter, not for Regis’s sake, but because he had nothing better to do. For the most part, Clement worked solo. Though there were several times in his life he needed team up with others in order to get where he wanted to go. He’s still searching for the greatest treasure in order to find the happiness that Regis promised him. Since then, Clement traveled many places, trained in various styles of martial arts, absorbed all he'd been taught, and adopted everything he'd learned into his own unique style. Clement entered the Heaven’s Arena wondering if he could find what he wanted at the top.

  Hatsu: Kuo transforms particles in the air into salt. He can layer and scatter the salt as he deems necessary. It could harden and become his shield. As well as form into spikes and spears or other projectiles. When it's stretched and brittle, the salt almost looks like bone, especially from a distance. Flakes can scatter in the air and float like snow.
  
  
  
  
  Getting salt into an opponent's wound isn't just petty. Internal warfare makes for a quick match. A person can only ingest so much salt before corroding on the inside. Once in the bloodstream, his salt collects around major organs specifically the brain, heart, kidney, and lungs. Those who fight him often become stricken by dehydration which worsens over time. He strays away from causing irreversible damage unless it's a life or death situation.

  There's a sunken castle in the ocean and Kuo wants to fund the excavation. He originally fought in Heavens Arena to make money. His cash flow goes straight to his parents account and they handle his finances. Most of the money he earns helps sponge the ocean of their debts like cruises and expensive jewelry and wines. Kuo learned his sense of responsibility from his parents--in that he has none.
  
  
  The excavation has run into several issues of jurisdiction, as it lays within the border of two countries, one of which is openly hostile toward foreign nations. Kuo blackmailed, threatened, and bribed his way into the good graces of the communist dictator. He rotates his weekends between exploring the newly accessible territory and spending time in the city. There are several types of sneakers available in the Republic of Padokea footwear enthusiasts can't purchase anywhere else.
  
  
  His grandparents are ninjas of the notorious Kuruma clan (don't announce this, it's supposed to be a secret). They are as much ambitious warriors as his parents are indifferent big spenders. His parents and grandparents are always arguing over how to raise him: traditionally vs. modernist. Kuo, of course, doesn't care and is a mix of both their values. They all eat dinner together every Tuesday. It ends in violence 43% of the time.
  
  
  Kuo sells some pieces from the dig sites, donates texts and artwork to museums, and occasionally keeps weapons and Nen items for himself.
  
  
  He heard word of the tournament going on and immediately wanted to participate. His grandmother bet he couldn't win and the location of a desert ruin is on the line. Kuo's father countered he would win, and it's turned into a family competition.

  Throughout history, the Tanjoon were always a family dedicated to protecting those who needed it. Though pricey, their service was good; their rate of successful protection sitting at a high 77%. While initially taking on anyone who paid, they began adopting a practice of accepting jobs from only those not involved in shady business. Seeing the dangerous people they once took jobs for and the damage they came to cause the lives of others, the Tanjoon made it an official policy to help only the "good".
  
  
  As the world and time progressed, eventually, the Tanjoon evolved more and more into what people today would call a police force. Now working closely with the Nen police and Hunter's Association, the Tanjoon are usually comprised of Blacklist and Crime Hunters, with a few branching out into other areas dealing with protection, such as stopping people from hunting animals illegally.
  
  
  Jand has joined the finance side of the family as a Jackpot Hunter. Taking on inconceivable bets with those who think an act cannot be done, Jand has earned a living and Jenny for her family by beating the odds. It's only natural that someone would pit her against the challenge that was Heaven's Arena. The 251st floor. Doubling up on cash from those betting against her path and prizes awarded at the end of certain floors, Jand has earned millions. With champion of Heaven's arena the biggest haul yet, the girl looks to push the numbers in her account even higher.

  Dan doesn't know his family name nor his original name or if he had one. He grew up in an orphanage in Minbo Republic. He barely passed his hunter exam because of his anger management issues and lack of confidence. In time both of those disappeared almost completely and Dan started to adopt a more calm personality. To this day he is looking to find details about both his parents and the reason he was abandoned. He sees this tournament as nothing more than a training regime.

  Born into the slums of the west side of Meteor City, Tawny was known to have a wild spirit. She was everywhere and anywhere. Most of the residents knew her by name and either disliked her or liked her, never hated her. Despite not having much she was a happy and hyper child. It was never a dull moment most people would say about her. Tawny with her curious mind and fearless heart dived into many things without thinking. She's not exactly the smartest or wisest but with her impulsive personality and quick wits she was somehow able to win most fights she fought in. There were many kids that looked up to Tawny, despite her tomboyish personality, she was the sunlight in Meteor City. But even someone who has a happy life eventually finds something that will cause them to question their life. For Tawny that was the knowledge of Hunters. Because of her curious personality, she was always studying things, reading up on them and learning about it. When she came across Hunters when she was eight she was enthralled. Reading more into who they were and what they did, she knew that that was what she was born for. From then on Tawny trained her mind and body, hardly resting. But she did manage to train while still watching over the little ones of Meteor City by utilizing the time to play with them as her exercise. Tawny saw it that by learning the various games and entertainments for children that she can train her mind to think of ways to occupy them but also physically train her body to enact what she wanted to do.
  
  
  At the age of 12 was when she first tried to earn her Hunter Li, but it wasn't till the next year when she was 13 that she received it. Elated that she was a Hunter, Tawny quickly learned about her Nen abilities (cause I mean at some point she was going to learn it and well with her curious mind she would've figured it out quite quickly) so that she could take on missions to send some money to her loved ones in Meteor City. Even after leaving Meteor City, she still missed her old life and all those who were with her. So now she strives to continue learning information to earn money as well as take on exciting challenges. Recently she has worked in the Heavens Arena because of her Hunter Type allowing her to become a great announcer, plus she was wanted to escape from the same pattern of work and have a refresher before continuing.

  Nen Bullets/Guns: To complement his skilled marksmanship, Dustin projects his Aura in the form of bullets and the guns that they are fired from. While he uses ordinary ammunition and firearms, the weapons created can only be seen through Nen techniques, such as Gyo. With two types of weaponry, he is able to keep opponents on their toes, actively switching between them in battle.
  
  Elemental Rounds: Using his skills as a Transmuter, Dustin changes the quality of the aura used to create his bullets in order to give them certain abilities. While not as powerful as a technique created by a natural Transmuter, the ability provides a decent variety of attacks, including Fire, Ice, Lightning, Corrosive and Explosive rounds.
  
  Eagle Eye: Rather than increase his physical strength or speed, Dustin's primary use of the Enhancer type is enhancing his perception. By boosting his eyesight and other senses, his marksmanship improves greatly, allowing him to make ordinarily impossible shots connect with ease.

  Dustin lived in a barren land, nothing to be seen for miles except for clouds of dust and sand that had been warmed by the sun's overwhelming heat. The scenery was akin to a large desert, shades of brown stretching to the distant mountains. Despite the harshness of the environment and lack of contact with civilization, his family managed to make a decent living off of the area's limited resources.
  
  As a child, Dustin's days were comprised of hard work. Like his parents, he tilled the barely fertile land and cared for livestock, keeping what they had built for themselves in good shape. While it was difficult, the boy never complained, taking to the way of life rather well as he worked diligently. He enjoyed seeing the fruits of his labor grow, taking pride in what he accomplished.
  
  In addition to the satisfaction he found in working and seeing his efforts pay off, Dustin's work ethic came from gratitude toward his parents. Listening obediently to every order, he desired to repay what his mother and father had done in order to provide him with a life of comfort and contribute as much as possible. Although, his actions seemed to have little effect on their relationship.
  
  While he was appreciative of them, Dustin's parents had always been distant. Despite living within the same home, they saw very little of each other during the day, separated as each of them attended to their respective responsibilities. Still, he remained upbeat, living out his peaceful lifestyle until it would be ripped away from him.
  
  In a wasteland that had been transformed into a small paradise, a visitor would arrive, the smoke rising from his gun's barrel slowly erasing the scent of blood from the area. In the short moments following his arrival, the dark-haired stranger would eliminate the man and woman that had been branded as targets, a blank look upon his face as he gazed at the bodies at his feet that had been filled with holes. That empty expression would change to match his surprise after discovering the golden-haired child that had witnessed the event, frozen in place as he watched the final moments in horror.
  
  Dustin was unable to act despite the intense desire to flee that filled him as the armed man approached, slowly coming closer as his legs threatened to give out. Prepared to meet the same fate as his family, Dustin's eyes were shut tightly, awaiting the inevitable. However, rather than the sensation of shrapnel tearing through his skin, he felt a hand gently running through his hair. Hesitantly opening his eyes, he found a somber expression directed towards him, the owner crouched in order to meet his height.
  
  In the middle of his confused state, Dustin found himself being wrapped in the man's arms, his own limbs left to flail as he was lifted into the air and carried away. As the realization that he was still alive settled in his mind, Dustin's fear and confusion was quickly replaced by anger, thrashing around and demanding to be let go as the sight of his home continued to shrink as the distance between them grew. His shouts received an apology in response, followed by the revelation that he wasn't going to be released anytime soon. Being told his fate rather bluntly, Dustin was forcibly made to travel with the man.
  
  They walked for several days, traversing the empty land in order to reach a destination that was unknown to the child. The sun burned his skin and his body was weak. He had not eaten for a considerable amount of time and his throat was constantly dry without any water.
  
  It wasn't as though resources were unavailable. The man had constantly offered food and clothing meant to protect him from the sun's rays, yet all of it was turned away. He refused to take anything from the one that had murdered his family. He could hold out for as long as he needed, his mind remaining strong even if his body was weak. He was determined to escape.
  
  Whether day or night, Dustin took every opportunity he could to run away, but to no avail. No matter what, he was always caught, being warned about the dangers of wandering alone. In his condition, death was a likely outcome. Even so, he found death preferable to spending another moment in the man's company.
  
  With his body constantly deteriorating, not likely to last if he continued to refuse food and water, the man asked him a question. "Do you hate me?" The answer was obvious. Dustin hated this man more than anything else.
  
  With the first answered, a second question was asked. "Do you want to kill me?" Like before, it was clear how the child felt. His hatred demanded vengeance.
  
  With another affirmative given, the man produced a gun, tossing it over to the boy. There was no more questions, only a command. "Shoot me."
  
  While initially filled with shock and confusion, Dustin took the heavy firearm in his hands, taking a deep breath. With the recoil pushing him back easily, the bullet missed its target, the man never moving an inch as the blond boy emptied the clip. Dispirited, Dustin allowed the weapon to sink into the sand.
  
  Following the failure, the man approached Dustin, declaring that he was weak and that the task was impossible for a child such as himself. While the statement caused his rage to grow, the anger partially came from knowing that the worlds were true.
  
  Frustrated, he was given an opportunity. If he truly desired to kill him, the man offered to train Dustin until he would be strong enough to reach that goal. However, he would not get far if he let his emotions get in the way, allowing his body to deteriorate.
  
  While still in disbelief, the boy struggled to push away his initial reaction to refuse. The thought of being taught by the murderer of his family made his blood boil and his stomach sick, but he reluctantly accepted. In order to kill this man, he was willing to do anything, even learn from him.
  
  From then on, Dustin became a student to the stranger who only identified himself as "Wess". In order to take his life, he would learn his skills, mainly in the field of firearms. Much to his displeasure, progress was slow.
  
  While his body may have been stronger than most his age, he found difficulty in using the weapon, unable to hit his desired targets. For this reason, Wess reluctantly made the decision to teach the boy Nen. With his Aura and hidden potential unlocked, the boy would be able to further his training.
  
  During their time together, the only thing on Dustin's mind was revenge, taking every opportunity he could to kill the one he was made to follow. Each attempt would fail, never able to touch the man despite his natural talent and surprising rate of growth. Following each failure, he never suffered the wrath of Wess, seemingly unbothered by it all. While his repeated loss was frustrating, the man's treatment bothered him the most.
  
  Despite all that had occurred, Wess treated him with kindness, caring for him and taking time to teach him properly, even with the knowledge that his student learned for the sole purpose of taking his life. He hated that. He hated the man was never unpleasant towards him. He hated the sad look on his face that he would occasionally notice, as if he were the one in pain. Most of all, he hated how they were growing closer, establishing a relationship that went against his convictions. He needed to remind himself of his determination and the anger he felt towards the man since their first meeting.
  
  Everything that the boy worked for would prove to be meaningless, as others would accomplish his goal before he could do so. It was a nostalgic scene, reminiscent of the day he saw his parents gunned down by a stranger. Everything occurred far too quickly, leaving him dazed while unknown individuals arrived from the shadows. What occurred went unseen for the most part, as his vision was obstructed by the body of the man that rushed to protect him, slowly blurring as he detected the familiar smell of blood.
  
  When he came to, Dustin fell to his knees, head low as it was left to hang at the side of Wess, no signs of life to be found. A mix of emotions overwhelmed him. He was confused, unsure of why he had been protected. He was angry, all of his work amounting to nothing as the man he was resolved to kill had been eliminated by another. For some reason, he also felt sadness. He couldn't tell which of these emotions caused tears to well in his eyes.
  
  Following Wess' death, Dustin was filled with new resolve. With the unresolved hatred he felt towards his former mentor and a feeling of emptiness born from failure, he directed the emotions towards other criminals that were deserving of the same justice he had been unable to carry out. In order to punish those that harmed others, he took it upon himself to participate in the Hunter Exam.
  
  Over the course of many years, Dustin made a name for himself as a Blacklist Hunter. Since the beginning of his career, he had dedicated himself entirety to tracking down wanted criminals and putting an end to their actions. His exceptional performance caused many to see him as a rising star in his field, proving to be highly skilled by dealing with several nefarious individuals in a short amount of time. However, he possessed a major problem.
  
  While Dustin was highly successful, the majority of his confrontations ended with the criminals being killed. Every waking moment was spent trying to rid the world of those that acted with ill intentions and keep potential victims from having to suffer at their hands. While the goal was noble, the young man had let it consume him, eating away at his soul until taking a life meant nothing.
  
  He would one day halt on his path of self-destruction, new information presented to him when he noticed a familiar face in a list of fellow Hunters. While it was difficult to believe, he could not deny what he saw. For the first time in many years, he saw the face of his parents' killer.
  
  Known as Samuel Wesson, his former teacher was revealed to be a two-star Blacklist Hunter, having been labeled as missing in action. While the revelation of his position as a Hunter came as a shock, he latched onto this information, seeing opportunity. Wesson may have been dead, yet the lack of fulfillment still remained. It was possible to receive at least some closure with the chance of discovering the reason for what occurred when he was a child.
  
  Tracking down Wesson's former place of residence, Dustin found answers in the form of the man living there. While he claimed to know nothing, the mention of Wesson quickly changed his mood. Upon revealing the reason for his search, he was allowed entry.
  
  Introducing himself as Horace, the man sighed as he learned of Wesson's fate, beginning to tell Dustin about his former associate. Having worked together as a fellow Hunter, the man knew much about him, yet he had not been heard of in quite some time. He had talked about needing help with an investigation, one that was quite dangerous. However, the details were never fully disclosed, only knowing one word of importance. "Sabbath".
  
  Each answer only seemed to raise more questions, receiving no concrete information. Still, even without a direct answer, a bad feeling washed over him. The knowledge of Wesson being a Blacklist Hunter and his last contact speaking of an investigation before their meeting filled his head with several possibilities.
  
  Unable to ignore this, Dustin was resolved to continue his investigation, seeking to connect loose threads. However, he would not be able to do so on his own. Horace would not allow it.
  
  He had heard of Dustin's behavior, noting how it mimicked the man he hated. After many years as a Blacklist Hunter, Wesson had lost touch with his humanity. While he did not become depraved, he had become numb to the act of murder, the lifestyle taking its toll on him. Dustin was quickly going down the same path. He didn't want to see that happen again.
  
  Taking a look at himself, Dustin realized how far he had gone astray. It left a bad taste in his mouth, especially when being compared to object of all his hatred. Those feelings had changed him for the worse.
  
  From then on, Dustin began working with Horace, tracking down anything that could lead to an answer for what occurred. At the same time, he trained under the senior Hunter. In addition to strengthening his body, he healed his mind and spirit.
  
  His methods of taking down criminals had changed greatly, no longer killing without a second thought. While he had not let go of his hatred, it no longer fueled his drive, wanting only to protect others from harm. The same pertained to his search for answers. Rather than an attempt to resolve emotions he was not capable of letting go, he only worked out of duty as a Hunter and to find out the truth.
  
  Recently, a potential lead had taken him to the Heaven's Arena.
  
  In his search, he quickly ascended the floors to compete in the Battle Olympia, looking to make progress on the investigation by identifying a person of interest.​
