Halo: A New Beginning (Alice x Kat)

Master Chief has been in cryo-sleep for a few years now (after Halo Reach), which means the UNSC is saving him for something big. And yet the Covenant still press on. In the mean time recuitment has once again begun, theyve lifted the ban of creating more Spartans and have started once again. It took a lot of convincing for Dr. Halsey to persuade those above her, but that woman has her ways. Theyve begun searching for fit children to, once again, become enhanced super-soldiers, hoping theyll become fierce warriors striving to be the best of the best.


Our new story begins in the 26th century, The Cole Protocol (a procedure keeping the Covenant from learning Earth's location) has already been in place and the famous Master Chief has already been awakened and doing his duties on the Halo rings with Cortana. What he didnt know was that there are other Spartans in training to be deployed there as well along with their own A.I.s. Down in one of the UNSC locations, on one of the many human inhabited planets, are kids that have been taken from their families not knowing that they are about to become some of the most feared soldiers....

Alice Rayne, one of the children selected, managed to make it through, and became Spartan 343. Her specialty is, of course, with guns. At the age of 20 she's a fierce warrior, even though she hates the Spartan armor.


Her hair is dark brown and her eyes are green.


She's short for a Spartan, standing right at 5'06"


Her favorite weapon is the Rocket Launcher, and Shotgun.

Myra Apollo never thought shed be what she is today. Her and her older brother were taken as a children and went through rigorous training to prepare her body for the augmentation. They survived through but some of her friends did not. Now she is 19 and a deadly soldier, shes 6'2" an average height for a female spartan. She packs a punch like the impact of a heavy truck. Shes was known for her close combat skills and with the enhancement, became even better! The weapons shes most skilled with is a sniper and energy sword (when she gets one). She hasnt came in conact with her brother since hes been MIA and possibly held hostage by the Covenant, which makes her want to crush them even more. Shes a natural born leader, and in hopes of being a commander very soon...

Alice stretched after she was "thawed" from cryo sleep. It had been a while since she was completely awake like this and her body ached.


"Welcome back, Miss Rayne. Please come with me, our Captain would like to see you. A couple of you new Spartans are being deployed." A young man, not much older than Alice herself, said as he began to lead her through the ship.

Myra stood in the Captain's quarters. She was stiff, and at attention, not saying a word and wondering why she was here. A marine came into the room,"Sir! The other Spartan is on her way, Sir." She announced before walking back out. Myra looked back,"Another Spartan?" she thought. She remembered she was at attention and snapped back, facing the Captain.

Captain James smiled at Myra. "Please, relax." He said looking at the Spartan across from him. "Nothing serious here, just waiting on Miss Rayne now." He said before sitting down and waiting more.


About ten minutes later the soldier and Alice walk in. "Sir, this is Alice Rayne, Spartan 343." Alice saluted the Captain before walking in and plopping herself down on a chair near the Captain. "Hello, sir." She said smiling up at him. She was especially short for a Spartan, and she loved it.


Captain James stood, brushing off Alice's bending of the rules and began explaining what had happened. "This is it, ladies. Spartan 117 encountered the Covenant a little while ago around this area." He said pointing to a map that popped up quickly. "His last known location was here, just outside of what we've came to know as a 'Halo', a sort of weapon from what we've learned." Captain James cleared his throat. "Now, what you're here for. Spartan 117 has went MIA, we lost him as he landed on an unknown planet, Covenant ruled. Your being sent in to find him, and bring him back, alive. If that isn't possible, destroy the Covenant. At any cost."

Myra stood 'at ease' with her hands behind her back and feet spread a part when the Captain said to relax.


She looked at Spartan 343 (lolz 343) as she walked in then turned her attention back to the Captain as he explained the objective,So this is a debreifing...., she thought,Gee you come back from fighing the Innies and get they reward you with yet another Covenant mission..., she continued and rolled her eyes a bit. Her eyes widened,"117?! Thats..." she stopped then contained herself and nodded,"Sir." She confirmed her understanding with the Captain.

"Oooh, this is going to be fun!" Alice said excitement obvious in her tone and actions. "When do we leave, sir?" The Captain sighed. "Alice, Myra, you leave A.S.A.P. we need him found, and safe. The two of you, and 117, are the only three remaining Spartans that we know of. A lot happened while you two were sleeping."

Myra looked at Alice with a shocked expression then back at the Captain,"Sir?" she questioned.


No wonder why it was so empty....I thought everyone was just deployed... she thought. Myra adjusted her standing position, still sore and stiff from waking up not too long before Alice. She couldnt believe that this was basically a rescue mission for the famous and undefeated Master Chief. She was so confused,I guess a lot did happen..... Myra snapped at attention once again and saluted,"We'll be ready in less than 15 minutes Sir." she said.

Alice sighed. "Fifteen minutes!? That's insane. I'm ready now." She smiled, excited.


"Take it easy, Alice. You'll have plenty of time for being excited and fighting later. The two of you need to get ready to deploy. Work together now, and be careful." Captain James said before asking the ladies to leave.


Later on planet:


"This place is gross..." Alice complained at the planet covered in greenish slime. "It's all sticky." She said pulling some of it from her rose pink and lavender armor she was forced into wearing for safety reasons.

Myra nodded at the captain and left the office, going into the armor machines assisted by scientists that drill the armor on. Her armor was cyan and orange and scuffed with battle marks and a couple of chips and dings, it told a story. She grabbed her Scout helmet (Jun's helmet OoO) and sighed, staring into the black visor,"Here we go.." she put it on. Her AI immediately turned on as her HUD came up aswell,"Hey there Rome."


"237...." he replied, a deep intimidating voice.


She walked to the escape pods and went in, landing on the planet


Myra looked at Alice and chuckled,"It doesnt seem so bad from up here..." she said, referring to Alice's height. "Im kidding..." she playfully punched her. Myra had her sniper on her back and an assault rifle in her hand. She frequently looked at her radar just in case....

Alice smiled. She held on tightly to her shot gun, ready for something to jump out from around the corner, as usual. "Wonder where everyone is?" She asked more to herself than Myra. It was a known inhabited planet by the Covenant, yet their was nothing in sight.

Myra wondered the same thing as her comrade. Where were the covvies? She felt more uneasy than usual. She hated scilence it only meant that something was there. She held her sniper close and her assault rifle in her hands.
