Personality

Much like his mother, Hallow is insanely curious. Being young, he can be rash and impulsive, and often will make decisions based on gut feelings alone. Curious and inquisitive, Hallow is fascinated by the cultures of other dragons, as well as the culture of humans. He dislikes being alone, and will often travel with groups of humans, pods of dolphins, or anyone willing to tolerate him. He longs to make a connection with another dragon, though he worries what would happen should they discover his hybrid lineage.

Bio

Hallow was born to a air dragon mother and a water dragon father, who met while his mother was off  exploring the territories of the other dragons. Alizeh was a insanely curious creature, who left behind the spires of her people to explore the furthest reaches of the dragon kingdoms. During her travels, she met her lover and mate, a water dragon named Nereus. The two were drawn to one another, Alizeh made several trips to Alten, where Nereus lived. The two kept their relationship a secret, and would often take to land when they met up to avoid prying eyes, however, when the two consummate their love, Alizeh knew she wouldn’t be able to keep it a secret for long. Alizeh laid her clutch of eggs, and guarded them with her life, fearing the worse if another dragon discovered them. Of her massive clutch, only one survived, Hallow.

Knowing full well her young would face outcast and possibly death, Alizah hid him away, in a remote spire far from prying eyes. The only person who knew of Hallow was a close and trusted friend of his mother, Tamala. Tamala often visited the two in their remote home, which was located on the top of a high cliff, overlooking the sea. Alizah told him her tales of adventure, of the many strange and wondrous creature she’d met, which ranged from other dragons to mankind. It was clear from an early age hallow had inherited his mother’s boundless curiosity and enthusiasm. As he grew older he’d press his mother for new stories, and often asked about his father, who he’d never met. Alizah would grow somber at the mention of her distant lover, whom she hadn’t seen since Hallow had hatched.

.

Alizah wanted her son to know his father, even if it was only in passing. When he got older, she decided to set out and find him, knowing full well tracking a single water dragon in the vast oceans was a massive undertaking. Hallow was barely a hundred years old when his mother left, leaving him in the care of Tamala, who had her own young around his age. Hallow was moved from hiss cozy home at the edge of the sea, to the home of Tamala and her brood. Hidden away in his adopted family, a young Hallow eager awaited his mother’s return. She never came back.

Heartbroken at the loss, Hallow clung to the family who had been so kind as to take him in. Tamala was a kind a thoughtful dragon, who treated Hallow as one of her own.

However, as he grew older, Hallow matured differently. His body was a dark seafoam green color, like that of the sea, he had webbing for swimming and the young dragon longed to be in the sea, almost as much as he longed to be in the air. Hallow was being pulled between his elements, and Tamala worried that as he grew older, the others would learn of his hybrid lineage. Fearing the consequences of such knowledge, Tamala sent Hallow away, back to his cliffside home, where he was to remain until either his mother returned, or he grew old enough to fend for himself.

Though his siblings would visit him often, hallow felt lonely in that cliffside spire, where he once lived with his mother. Venturing down to the water, the dragon took to the sea with ease, playing with the fish and other sea creatures helped to pass the time. As he grew older, he started staying in the sea more and more, until he formerly moved to a cave at the bottom of the cliff. An outcast in the air community, and unknown to water, Hallow’s mond moved to traveling. He longed to find his mother, or at least discover what happened to her. He often thought of the father he never knew, perhaps one day he’d find a home with him.

Being an impulsive teenager, Hallow put little thought into leaving before he set out on his own. Not even 700 years old, hallow set out into the world seeking answers about his lineage, and anything else the world could offer him.
