BLUR
Two Thousand Club
Welcome to the character application section of the Gyan fantasy world role-play. Before I give you the character sheet, I would like to go over some basic information. As you have seen in the interest check, there are four playable groups in Gyan. Two of these groups are large tribes, one is a kingdom, and the final one is split in between a tribe of mostly bandits and small theocracy. These groups are home to all the manipulators of Gyan, with no exception.
Each one of these groups have their own cultures and characteristics that make them who they are and differentiate them from the others. However, there are some in the world of Gyan that have found themselves in a different faction then the one they were born in, and your characters may have that exception as well. With that being said, here's some extra information about all the factions, the houses, and the manipulators of Gyan.
As mentioned in the Interest Check, the Asman tribe live around, and even on, the Zorg mountain range. They deal with a harsh, cold climate, with very few warm days in the year. As are all of the groups of Gyan, they are nature lovers. Almost all Asman have either gray or white hair, and so they are one of the few peoples that are easily distinguishable from appearance alone. The Asman are typically very friendly and loyal to each other, but are wary of outsiders. They have a longstanding rivalry with the Mardom Kingdom. The Asman are also among the most intelligent of Gyan's people, and most of those who are not manipulators instead fancy themselves researchers of various sciences. As stated in the Interest Check, the Asman Tribe population is around 800 people, with around 300 being manipulators. The two main houses, which are also the executive powers of the tribe, are House Aub and House Hava. House Aub specializes in the manipulation of water, while House Hava specializes in the manipulation of air. While House Hava is a pretty large house, and holds a lot of prestige in the world of manipulators, House Aub is small and pretty insignificant in the world of manipulators. The members of House Aub are not one to have many children, but are deeply attached to family they do have. House Hava, on the other hand, is known to produce competent warriors, and the current generation of manipulators are among the best in Asman Tribe. The greatest manipulators of the Asman tribe are able to surpass their own house's element and learn manipulation of ice.
The Urwar tribe are like the Asman in that their choice of environment is not one most people would think to be safe. The majority of Urwars, including the leaders of the tribal council, take residence in a hill fort in the middle of the Lyle Forest. Others prefer to be in the thick of action, taking residence within the forest itself, camping out in houses constructed on the thick branches of the tall trees in the Lyle. The Urwar are a brave people, you would have to be to be so close to a forest where various dangerous beast roam free. They are a breeding ground for hunters. They are also friendly, festive, and relish their close proximity to nature and the wild. Every month, on a given day of the month, the population of the Urwar tribe, which totals nearly 600 people, gather around the bottom the hill fort and have a community picnic, where their most recently fermented stores of all alcoholic beverages are passed around and everybody gets merry together. The Urwar are also famous in that instead of having taxes to pay, the people of Urwar tribe are given money by the tribal council. Urwar individuals mostly supply their own food, shelter, drink, weapons, and clothes, and so anything they have extra is exported to other groups for profit if no one else is in need. In Urwar, there are only a handful of houses, and all heads of these houses comprise the tribal council. The two biggest and most powerful houses are the Gole and Zamin. House Gole specializes in plant manipulation while House Zamin specializes in earth manipulation. Many people in House Gole are distinguishable by markings on their face and body. Both houses are pretty renowned for their abilities. Urwars are known to be fantastic doctors due to an intensive knowledge of herbs. A master manipulator in Urwar is able to learn gravity manipulation.
A few centuries prior to the beginning of this role-play, the Xwarrag were a single tribe that lived by Mount Zend, an active volcano. As the tribe began to become more and more devout in its faith and worship of its guardian spirit, a major house decided to leave into the desert for a more free lifestyle. The remaining Xwar house began to influence the groups of people around the Zend Peninsula (see map). They also established a place of worship, constructing a huge temple where the heads of the house would stay and govern over the land. Thus, a theocracy was formed, with the Xwar house, House Atash, claiming the land surrounding Mount Zend and all the Zend Peninsula to the south as property of Asha, their guardian spirit. Over the years, House Atash has established a full blown capital where the temple was built, and now may boast of having the largest, and most beautifully constructed city in all the land, beating out even the Mardom Kingdom. Meanwhile, the Xwarrag that left to the desert, House Barq, began to establish themselves as a force of terror in the Xwar desert. Contrary to their once guardian spirit, a force of truth and righteousness, the young warriors of the Barq began to loot and steal from the people living around the area. Soon, they became notorious as a group of bandits. They are a prolific people, and thus are one of the most populous houses in Gyan. Their entire group consists of members of their house. The people of House Barq are known to be wild and ruthless, long having given up their ability to show compassion in exchange for survival in the harsh desert climate. The Xwar, as a whole, are known as expert builders and architects. House Atash are manipulators of fire, while House Barq manipulates lightning. An advanced Xwar manipulator is able to utilize the element of light.
The Mardom Kingdom is the largest faction in all of Gyan. They hold sovereignty over around 3,000,000 people. They are the strongest militant force in Gyan, as they employ 20,000 well-trained knights. Their headquarters is located in Val Valley, and is a castle named after the guardian spirit Wa. Originally, many centuries ago, Mardom was a single tribe led by House de Auhan, manipulators of metal. Mardom had always been home to many different houses, and most were able to create weapons and armor out of thin air. Eventually, through sneaky politics, one was able to gain powerful allies and rise as a top house, battling House de Auhan for control of the tribe. They managed to take over, and soon continued to fall prey to their ambitions. They continued to seek more power, and so they adopted a feudal system, promising to protect the vast populous of the Zagost Plains in exchange for gold. They built a powerful kingdom and claimed sovereignty over a vast domain. The house was House DiMazdi. Throughout the centuries, this House continued to pursue more land, more gold, and more warriors, wanting to claim all of Gyan for themselves and increase their glory. However, they would face a major defeat when they attempted to expand their dominance into the Zorg mountain range. A combination of terrain, weather, and the powerful Asman tribe handed them a humbling defeat. They would have many campaigns sending them into Asman territory, but they would never come out victorious. Eventually, they decided it wasn't worth the effort. Over the years, the ambition of House DiMazdi has been dampened. The current king, in particular, has shown little interest throughout his reign in expanding Mardom sovereignty. The Mardom people are not known for anything in particular, as there are so many diverse people in the kingdom that one could find a skilled professional in any area. Warriors of Mardom are very skilled in swordsmanship, and they are proficient to masterful with many other weapons as well. They are dominant in the annual fighting festival, both in the Now Tournament and the Fight League. The very best Mardom manipulators are able to learn energy manipulation
Now that you know about the main factions of Gyan, you can choose who to play. For now, I'm going to cap each faction at one player per house. If you REALLY want to play a certain house and its filled, message me. If we go over eight players, I will open the houses up.
Note that you may play a character that was born to one house, but was adopted by another. However, this is not recommended, since by doing this you forfeit your rights to the advanced manipulation of either house. In turn, you may learn the primary manipulation of both.
Also, one last thing, if you choose to play a Mardom character that's not in house de Auhan, you're free to create your own house name, and may add a brief history of the house as well.
Now, onto the CS!

Interest Check- Important Info Here

The Roleplay- IC
QUICK NOTE: IMPORTANT
The Annual Fighting Festival that is briefly mentioned in the Interest Check is a huge event in the lifetime of a manipulator. All young aspiring manipulators apply, and are eligible in their 15th, 16th, and 17th years (age-wise). The most confident manipulators obviously would apply as early as possible, while others would take their time. With this tournament comes lots of prestige, as landing within the elite eight makes sure your name is written in the annals of history.
So if you are writing about another manipulator within your character's biography, make sure not to simply gloss over this event, as it is one of the most important events in a young manipulators life!
