—BIOGRAPHY

Gracelyn was born in Harlem, New York to Jace and Alice Deveraux. Her childhood was dismal at best. Or, what little of her childhood she had. Her family was extremely poor and lived in a trailer with a roof that caved in and a backyard the flooded. Not to mention she lived in a bad neighborhood and was constantly subjected to robberies and break ins. Her father ran with a local biker gang, shooting up convenience stores and screwing prostitutes all hours of the night. When he did come home, he spent his time drinking himself into a stupor and beating the shit out of his wife. Her mother stayed at home and attempted to care for her daughter, which Gracelyn loved her for, but eventually, the tender-hearted woman couldn't take it anymore and she shot herself up with enough heroine to kill her.

Following his wife's death, Jace only got worse. He needed a new punching bag, and his eleven year old daughter seemed like a pretty good target. At first, it was a couple punches here and there, maybe a shove into the wall. But as she got older and came into herself, it became so much more. The beatings grew in intensity, and her father started a whole new kind of abuse. She lost her virginity to him at fourteen, and continued to suffer at his hands until she was seventeen, at which time she waited until he was passed out drunk on the couch to take his gun and kill him. Following the gunshot, the neighbors would see her sprint from the house, dressed in nothing but jeans and a faded sweatshirt with a pair of beat up converse on her feet and a ripped backpack in her hand.

Gracelyn ran until she reached Maple Pines. Here, she took up refuge in an abandoned hospital, stealing her food and supplies from the surrounding convenient stores. She lived like this for a couple of weeks before she slipped up. An undercover cop caught her robbing one of the stores and followed her back to the hospital. He called the local police and they came. Upon finding her counting her stolen cash in one of the rooms, they arrested her. At the police station, she was panicking. She knew the cops in Harlem would've reported a runaway and a murderer. When they ran her prints, they'd know it was her. She'd be locked up for years. Locked in a holding cell, she waited for them to figure out who she was.

She was there for about three hours before someone approached her cell, only to inform her she had made bail. Stunned to her core, Gracelyn followed the officer to the front desk, got her stuff from him, and left. She went back to the hospital where she'd been staying. She found an envelope waiting there for her. The letter was from a man who named Alaric Sauer. Alaric told her what he had done for her, and what he wanted from her in return. At first, Gracelyn was tempted to refuse and flee, but then she read the warning at the bottom of the page. telling her of the consequences of not repaying him. So she agreed.

Ah, since Nai hasn't responded, I'll take it upon myself to do her job for her... *COUGH*

The GM's will inform us all at the same time regarding the acceptance of our characters, so just sit tight for a little while longer ^^

The rp isn't dead, just sort of... dormant until plotting has taken form and they have a general idea of how to lead us into roleplaying.

If something is to impede the plotting process/general liftoff of the rp, we will all be informed. Plus, they're lazy shits.

I hope you can bare with us for a little while longer!
