β manami is relatively short, especially compared to her the rest of the members of team toshiko. she stands at a whopping five feet tall and weighs roughly one hundred and fifteen pounds. she has a touch of a baby face with her big, blue eyes, long eyelashes, and roundish features. do not be fooled, though, as they say big things come in little packages. her hair is shoulder length and curly, with hues of bluish-purple depending on how the light hits it at any given time.
β with all three water signs making up her big three, manami is bound to be a touch on the emotional side. she feels her emotions with a deep intensity, and is a sucker for a good sob story. she is often lost in her own little world, and because of this, is regularly chastised for not paying attention. her thoughts may begin to stray during any given mission, and it's not uncommon she finds herself tasking beyond the confines of that which was ordered of her.
despite this, manami is a pacifistic soul who just wants everybody to be happy. she lacks the confidence to carry things through all the way and ends up doing more than what is expected of herβ even if it is of little relevanceβ as though to make up for her shortcomings. with the right friends by her side and a healthy dose of confidence, manami has the potential to be among the best healers the hidden leaf village has ever seen.

β manami comes from two lineages of medical-nin. both her father's clan, the kinoshimas, and her mother's clan, the yamadas, have produced many skilled medical ninja in the past. in fact, both of her parents helped out in the medical unit during the third great ninja war.
β summarized backstory: both of manami's parents died of a highly contagious and incurable illness when she was still young. because of this, from the age of six, manami was raised by her mother's sister, her aunt ayami yamada. ayami is a fabulous lady who adores her niece and, despite being a bit on the poorer side, has always strived to give her the best life possible. when manami revealed she wanted to be a ninja like her parents, ayami placed her in the ninja academy and even helped her with her studies whenever she could.
due to her strange, airheaded tendencies, manami never made friends very easily, so when she was placed on team toshiko, she was determined from the very beginning to make them like and respect her and sees them as valuable friends who she must protect, no matter the circumstances.
