Appearance
Jeyne has retained her youthful appearance despite being nearly forty. With both age and childbirth working against her she has conquered the two things that bring a woman down the most. Deep brown near bark colored locks cascade down her back. Her richly colored hair is often loose when she isn't entertaining guests. In the midst of company, she ops for traditional braids that still fall roughly at her hips.

Icy blue eyes add to her soft her appearance along with her pale skin. Her delicate features often make her seem less blunt or opinionated than she seems. She stands only at 5'6 but everything about her fits together quite well

Name
Jeyne Harper

Age:
38, nearly 39

Personality:
The first thing that can be said is that she loves her children with a fierceness that makes the stranger cringe. You fault her children, you fault Jenye. She would have no qualms about throwing some in the stockade and forgetting about them. On the other hand, though she is harsh on her son's. Demanding that they would do right and live up to her and their father's expectations.

It is unbecoming of a lady in the realm to have opinions or to be so outspoken. That is how she is though and has no qualms about voicing her thoughts. Maybe not publicly as much but in private she would give her husband an ear full.

In the midst of hosting company, she puts on a warm yet soothing aura. Charitable and kind to those who are guests in her home. Open to gossip but doesn't speak on matters concerning her inner circle. She is kind and humble and would continue to be so until she is slighted

Brief Bio:
Jeyne is distant kin to House Royce and the last daughter to be married. Her strong opinions turned away many suitors. An opinionated woman was the last thing any soon to be lord wanted. A match had been made for her though as the mad king had gotten worse. Reluctantly she accepted the marriage to the heir of Harp's Gate, not that she had a say in the matter.

Jeyne had no true love for Henry but she didn't hate the man. Shortly before Robert's Rebellion, she gave birth to not just one child but two. Twin boys that we're minutes apart but the amount of time she spent in labor nearly killed her.

Now twenty years later another war is erupting. Jeyne puts on a strong front in front of everyone but deep down she realizes her worst fears could come true. She could lose her sons. A fact that has soured her stomach.

Personal Belongings:
Gray Mare named Thunder
Dagger for personal protection when needed
Plethora of assorted jewelry.

Name: Maynard Harper

Age: Nine and Thirty

Appearance: Dark copper straight hair, usually wetted and brushed away from his sharply-featured face. Pronounced widow's peak. Well-groomed mustache and chin beard. Light skin. Steel grey eyes. Medium to lean build. 5'11".

Maynard often has an air of unease, similar to a ship captain who has spotted distant storm clouds.

Personality: Aloof. Unhappy. Fiercely loyal to his House and family. Demands courage, especially from himself. Obsesses over major challenges. Allergic to cutting corners. Humble enough to seek advice. Experiences flashes of joy in the moments when those who love and care for him are elated.

Bio: Men born to noble Houses throughout Westeros can be neatly sorted into three groups: lords, those who would be lords, and non-lords. Maynard Harper was fated to be a non-lord. He was a second son. And as a proud male Harper he was expected to be grateful for the privileges he inherited, not troubled by what opportunities might be denied to him. But no matter how hard Maynard tried to make peace with his lot in life, he could never shed the cold, wet blanket over his soul — the reminder that he will be remembered and spoken of differently than his father, grandfather, and brother.

Surprisingly this did not turn him jealous. His brother is, and has always been, a good man. A deserving man. But what did that make Maynard? Undeserving, or so one could reason. And that is a bitter ale to swallow.

Maynard's troubled feelings have never impacted his loyalty to his family. His duty is to his House and brother, that much he is sure of. That much he can give them. But he will always carry the heartsickness of what he is not, and what he will never be. The curse of the second son.

Appearance: Muscular and Stocky build with an average height, about 5' 9"

Name: Henry Harper, Lord of Harper's Gate

Age: 40

Personality: Practical, Down to Earth, Stern but Kind, Fair and Merciful whenever possible but will always do what he has to. Loves his family and has a huge soft spot for children.

Brief Bio: Uneventful Childhood, won his spurs in Robert's Rebellion, fighting in both the Battle of the Bells and the Battle of the Trident, after his experience in both those battles he begins to reform the levy into a semi-professional force and implement a more effective tax system. More specifically he makes it a law that every man be armed and proficient in either the Spear or the Longbow and be ready at a moment's notice, this second part was in particular influenced by his part in the Battle of the Bells upon realizing that it could be a method of quickly calling the levy. Loyal to House Tully and friendly to the Blackwoods has marriage ties to the Vale and the father of two boys.

Personal Belongings: Broken Valyrian Sword, Everything in Harper's Gate

Appearance: Lithe but muscular build, standing at 5'8"

Name: Arren Harper, Heir to Harper's Gate

Age: 22

Personality: On the surface, Arren seems the perfect gentleman; kind, considered, polite and well-spoken. His preparations to inherit Harper's Gate and assume the Lord's mantle has led Arren becoming dedicated to growing his family's influence, using every opportunity to build personal relations with those lords and hiers who will be useful to Arren when he succeeds his father, while planning to dismantle those who would not. While initially expecting a long and slow political grind to higher positions throughout his life, the conflict between the Starks and Lannisters would provide a great many fresh opportunities for quick advancement, opportunities that Arren would not wish to go to waste. He just needs to find a way to manipulate his father into making the right moves.

Brief Bio: Arren would have spent much of his life doing what all heirs would do; train, learn, and prepare themselves for the futures ahead. He would be trained in the use of sword and bow, trained to ride horses and wear armour, trained to strategize in war and lead men into battle. When he would not train, he would learn, spending many of his evenings in the library reading all that he could that would be of use for when he becomes Lord. But his dedication has had its downsides, largely never spending much time with family beyond his obligations, even his own twin brother is mostly a stranger to him, and thus his life lacks the intimacy that others enjoy. Though Arren once resented his mother for her harsh nature towards him, in adulthood he came to realise that it pushed him to do better that he might have otherwise, owing his abilities to her perpetual scrutiny.

Personal Belongings:
Mirror's Edge ~ a specially forged longsword gifted on Arren's 20th nameday, a beautifully crafted sword with elegent detailing along the centre of the blade, including the Harp sigil, polished to a mirror-like shine that is its namesake. Though a true sword, Arren keeps it mostly for ceremonial purposes, only once using it in a duel.
Harp Sigil Ring ~ this simple gold ring is worn by Arren to signify his position as Heir to Harper's Gate, always kept by Arren at all times.
Blackmare ~ a warhorse Arren bought after winning a tourney, Blackmare is perhaps Arren's most steadfast ally.

Appearance:

Name:
Rylen Harper

Age:
22

Personality:
A stark contrast to his twin brother, Rylen has always been a quiet, shy person. He seems to lack much ambition, simply wanting to help his family and ensure the safety of the people they rule. And it's true, he lacks confidence, and often has the qualities of a wallflower, but he does have ambition. He wants to be a good person, to help others. Power doesn't mean much to him unless it can be used to help others. He's also quite intelligent, with a vast knowledge of various subjects, and a constant desire to learn.

Brief Bio:
Born mere minutes after Arren, Many would think that Rylen would be a sly, envious little snake, but this was far from the truth. While his brother seemed to relish in gaining power, Rylen sought more... intellectual pursuits. Sure, he still practiced with the sword and the horse, and is actually an incredibly skilled archer, he detested violence, leading many to look down on him as a failure. He fears that Arren is going down a dark path, and that it will all end with the destruction of their House.

Personal Belongings:
Longbow - Made of high quality yew, with a drawstring perfectly made just for the bowstave, saying this weapon is finely crafted would bean offense to the man who made it.

Aly - Rylen's beloved mare. It's not the fastest horse by any means, but it's as reliable as you can get.

Appearance: Roderick is a large man, nearly six feet tall and broadly built, with brunette hair and almost golden eyes.

Name: Roderick Rivers

Age: 37

Personality: Roderick is a hard man, fiercely loyal to the Harper family. To outsiders, he can seem cold and distant, but to those close to him, he is a kindhearted man, and an excellent confidante.

Brief Bio: There are few places for a bastard in the world of Westeros. The stigma of being born out of wedlock carries with you forever, chasing at your very name. Roderick could have gone to the Wall. Instead, he found himself in the service of Lord Harper. He had been brash when young, and bold, and had found himself under the Lord's eye. The two men had formed an unlikely bond, the Bastard and the Lord. As time passed, the young man proved himself time and again. Still, Roderick knew he would never be more than he was. Then everything changed seven years ago. Ser Myles, the former Captain of the Guard had suffered a horse riding accident. Roderick thought nothing of it until he found himself summoned before the Lord, who presented him as the new Captain of the Guard. Roderick was flabbergasted, and the household scandalized. Kneeling with weapon drawn, Roderick swore his fealty once more, and doing so, sealed his undying loyalty to House Harper. For seven years he has served as Captain of the Guard and confidante of the secrets of House Harper.

Personal Belongings: Other than his axe, longbow and armor, Roderick owns very little.

Gannet & Pigeon
Feeny

portrait_of_a_gannet_by_xx_iona_star_xx_ddxytz3-pre.jpg
portrait_of_a_pigeon_by_xx_iona_star_xx_ddxytrf-pre.jpg

Appearance:

Gannet is a tall lithe lad, standing at around 5'9" at his highest. He's slim, but not too gangly or skinny. Enough muscle on him to aptly stand up for himself should the occasion ever arise. Otherwise, his skin's pale, and he has a freckled complexion. Gannets eyes are what immediately alert you to his presence. An almost dazzlingly vivid pale shade of blue, it's the feature that most commonly unnerves most people he comes into contact with. His hair stands in a stark contrast to the lighter tones of his skin. A deep and dark brown, that in all other instances appears purely black. It's long-ish I suppose, and for some reason he never keeps it particularly neat. Must just be the way he prefers it I assume...
As for Pigeon, that girl has a wild look to her eyes, let me tell you. Rather unlike, and yet at the same time rather skin to her elder brother, Pigeon Feeny does not look quite as odd or aloof as he, but rather, she possess her own air of unruly scruffiness. Her complexion is fair, but not quite as pale as Gannets, and her eyes are a deep and dark brown in colour. She smiles a lot, even when told not to, and has an otherwise pleasant sort of face. Not particularly pretty really, but in no way unpleasant to look at either.

Names:

Gannet and Pigeon Feeny
Gannet, Gan, or Ganny for the Boy.
And Pigeon, for the girl. Some opt to call her Pidge, but it's a nickname she ultimately dislikes. The snootier Lords and Ladies will call her Pidge like they've got a bad in their mouth.
As for Feeny, it's odd and ultimately not likely for common-folk to have a Surname. But with the Feeny's being so close to the Harpers, it was decided, undoubtedly by some long-gone haughty ancestor who had ideas above his station, that the family were deserved of a Surname of their own.

Age:

Gannet is Twenty two just gone,
And Pigeon is Eighteen.

Personality:

Gannet is a quiet and personal man. He speaks so rarely many simply believe him to be mute. All in all, the boy has an odd, almost eerie aura about him. He seems to simply float about the place, quietly doing as he's told, carrying out his Squire-ly duties perfectly adequately. His face remains almost constantly indifferent. He neither frowns, nor smiles, and instead remains in a state of forever neutrality. He does sometimes speak, when asked a direct question by one of his Lords that simply behests a response. But freely, and when most at ease, he speaks to his Sister the most. It's still not a lot even then, and Pigeon is the one that does the most of the chattering.
Pigeon on the other-hand, is a far more lively and talkative character. Somewhat similar to her namesake, she flits and flies around Harpers Gate with all the energy and enthusiasm of a pent-up Bird. Too much energy for too small a body her Mother says. In what must seemingly be a Feeny trait, Pigeon is also a little bit of an oddball. She's unlike the other common girls of Harpers Gate. She's no good at sewing, or cooking, or really any task or job that's to be done within the house. Pigeon far favours more sporty and outdoorsy pursuits. The likes of which the Lords and Lads of Harpers Gate take part in. Scolded by the other women for being such a nuisance at chores, and laughed at by the men for even dreaming of joining in with their passions and professions, it's fair to say Pigeon doesn't have a great number of friends. But that's alright, Gannet doesn't mind listening to her. Once you get to know her she's a nice enough girl. Polite, chatty, sometimes rather funny too. Lucky for her, it's that naturally personable nature that allowed her to join her brother when she did. At least the work gives her some way to release all of the energy...

Brief Bio:

The Feeny's of Harpers Gate have always served as Squires, Aides and general Attendants to the Harpers.
Man or woman, a Feeny's life is born into a dedication of service to nobody else in Westeros, but the Harpers of Harpers Gate.
And such was the case for both Gannet and Pigeon. Practically from when he could walk, Gannet was trained and taught how to aid and assist the Harpers through almost all of their day to day need. A few of the various visiting dignitaries and numerous superiors that visited The Gate began to complain of Gannets unusual and otherwise spectral nature. The complaints grew to such a degree that Pigeon was brought in and allowed to assist her brother as a Squire. It is highly uncommon for a girl to partake in the roles and duties of a squire, but her skill in the profession is undeniable, and she's a far more agreeable soul to be around than that of her brother.
Gannet spent a lot of his youth in close proximity and company of the young Harper Heirs Arren and Rylen, and as of such, knows them fairly well by this point. Inless deliberately asked to do otherwise, it's often Gannet will attend to the brothers while Pigeon herself helps her Father aid Lord Henry Harper, and otherwise any other guest or dignitary that may require assistance.
Now you didn't hear this from me, but it's actually rumoured that the Feeny siblings are not actually their Fathers own children. It's true and plain for anyone to see that there's little to no physical resemblance, but Gannets otherwise aloof nature, as well as Pigeons giddy over-enthusiasm paint a stark picture of contrast to their supposed Fathers demeanour. But the stern and proud Barris Feeny would hear of no doubts of his, or his wife's Fidelity. Woe betide any person caught gossiping of such matters within his earshot. The local children of The Gate have a infamous song only the brave dare to chant when he is nearby:

Barris, Barris of Harpers Gate
Took so long that his wife couldn't wait.

No time to spare did the Lords Aid have,

So the wife went down to market and a Babe she had.

Personal Belongings:

Gannet:
- Pocket Whetstone
- A small dirk permitted to him by his Father as a gift for his eight and tenth birthday.
- Three long yet worn strips of leather. Gannet likes to keep his hands busy, and in any free time he has, he'll repeatedly braid, and then un-braid these three pieces of leather.
Pigeon:
- A small whittling knife. Akin to her brother, Pigeon also enjoys keeping her hands busy. Her hobby is whittling. And she'll often make small presents of her carvings to anyone who cares to want one.
- A small worn and slightly rusted hunting knife that she 'borrowed', as her Father chose not to give her one for her eight and tenth birthday.
- A deep Blue Jerkin, it's worn, rather faded, and altogether just a bit too big for her. But the item was a gift from a visiting Lord from somewhere or other in The Vale (She can't remember exactly who or where to be honest). It's the nicest piece of clothing she owns and its rare she's ever seen without it.
