Fantasy For King and Country! [LORE]

Raku

Four Thousand Club

Kings

Both kings may be human, but they are far from the same. Both have different views, different goals, different secrets, and far different futures. They have their own flaws and weakness, and both have their own strengths.

--------Gerard Kilman, King of Fuerin--------

Gerard, as said in our world, doesn't fuck around. He is highly militaristic and enforces very aggressive tactics. His troops use a head on fighting style to strike deep with numbers. At the cost of advanced equipment, his army relies on strength in numbers. He, as most people of Fuerin, sees these supernatural creatures as inferior to humans and only exist to serve humans. Any supernatural that opposes that view is to be eradicated. It is safe to say that he is not the most intelligent man. He gained most of his power through his reputation as an elite leader during many anti-supernatural campaigns. Gerard was basically voted king by the people. His strengths appear to be years of combat experience and he is a natural leader. He has a strong grip on his people and rules with an iron fist. Fuerin's army is also larger than Solaira's. His flaws and weaknesses are that his tactics are a bit too aggressive. He might end up sending them straight into an ambush. Wounded and weary soldiers are not often pulled out and given rest. His laws are also a little too strict. This is what could lead to a rebellion or instability in the nation.

--------Aaron Herrings, King of Solaira--------

Born into the position, Aaron didn't necessarily earn his spot as king. Eldest son of the previous king, his father Eugene Herrings, he inherited the throne. Unlike Gerard, Aaron is not only less serious than him but he is also much more intelligent than him. Of course, this is at the cost of little combat experience, but he commands his forces much differently than those of Gerard Kilman. Solairan tactics are focused on surprise and swiftness. They use their knowledge of the environment against the enemy to ambush them. With less of the aggressive style of combat, his troops are more conservative. When they see a weak point exposed, they strike, but when that gap closes they pull back and ready for their pursuers. His strengths come in the form of his intelligence, way with words, and his wealth. Flaws and weaknesses are that his tactics may not be aggressive enough in certain situations. If the enemy is too dug in, his troops are going to have a harder time defeating them. Another is that his army is not as large as Fuerin's. It's not an extreme difference, but when troops are tired and injured there is a lower chance that they are going to be replaced. The fact that he is forcing many of his higher standing military officers to fight puts him at risk of a rebellion. If something about it slips out to the public, it won't end well for him.

The World of Zaria
Zaria is not only the name of the planet, but is also the name of the single large continent the houses the two kingdoms. The landscape is fairly normal. To the north there lies a large mountain range that's foothills, along with a few smaller mountains stretch down to the middle of the continent. There are areas covered by a forest as well as some plains here and there. Down south resides a small desert along with some arid plains. Both capitals are located on the coast, Solaira in the east while Fuerin is in the west. Either army would have to fight across the whole other kingdom to win. Solaira has control over the mountains while Fuerin has the desert and arid plains.

Armies
What's a kingdom without an army to serve it. The Solairan and Fuerini armies fight with different tactics and, well, different soldiers for the most part. Of course, the Solairan army consists mainly of supernatural creatures while the Fuerini army consists of only humans.

--------The Solairan Army--------
Although the Solairan army has strong Orcs, elven archers, dragons, and other creatures with their own specialties, they don't fight as aggressive and head on as the Fuerini army does. They use more sophisticated tactics. Using the element of surprise and the environment, Solairan soldiers ambush their enemy or attempt to strike fear into their hearts. They may not have the numbers and violent style that the Fuerini army has, but they make up in different ways.

--------The Fuerini Army--------
With plain ol humans as it's soldiers, the Fuerini army doesn't have the kind of special abilities that the Solairan army has, but they do have more soldiers. They use a much more direct and simple style of fighting. Large groups of soldiers, some armored some not, move together, laying waste to anything and anyone in their path. Prisoners may be taken, but not usually many. Shields take point, archers stay back, swordsmen in the middle. Charge in and do damage, that's the gist.
