Florence grew up in a large family with three brothers and two sisters. Smack in the middle of her siblings, she showed great potential from the tender age of eight and was a rising star at school. Her father worked as a top-tier member of one of the largest business firms in the country, leaving her mother free to live a luxurious life with the children. However, her chromatic world dulled to grey when her father was left vegetative after an almost-fatal sporting accident. While the Lores did not lack finances, their savings became vital to keeping the children in school. Luxuries were traded and sold, expenses were spared and houses were left behind. Mother and elder siblings made themselves scarce in the household in a desperate hunt for employment, raking in just enough to keep the family afloat and educated in the hopes of securing a better future. Florence, always having taken pride in her intelligence, threw herself into her studies, emerging as one of the brightest students in the country. Recognizing her as a prodigy in science, she was recruited into a renowned Solar Navy Preparation School on a scholarship and later made it into the Academy in record time.
When she was approached for recruitment into Operation: Alpha Centauri, the prospect of adventure and research was tempting, but it was the promise of having her family well-compensated that sealed the deal.

PHYSICAL DETAILS
Of average height and build, she stands at 5'7" and weighs roughly 143 lbs. She carries a light smattering of freckles across her cheeks and is fair from spending most of her days in a laboratory. Near-sighted and almost never seen without her characteristic oval glasses, Florence has a head of blonde and grey eyes.
