Realistic or Modern Fighting Instincts [Private]

( Fable Fable I get too excited and just want to post lol PAGE TWO : D )

Listening to Enora, Isaac braced his elbows on his desk, creating a bridge with his fingers as he hid his smirk behind his hands. So far his plans seemed like they might work. Watching her as she went from one topic to another in quick succession, he admired how she demanded answers and solutions but managed to keep her tone respectful. She was smart. She remembered their altercation earlier in the woods and how he behaved with his father. She was mindful to not let it happen again and not only did he appreciate that, he admired her. He couldn't imagine what she was going through, and the fact that she'd survived so far is a lot to say against any other wolf.

"If you ever do leave my home, I'll make sure you have a similar bed." he joked, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "To start, your things should arrive within the next hour or so. I'll have someone let us know the second they arrive." he promised.

"As to your second point, you have a good idea. That's why you'll be performing in a public demonstration of skills." he announced, leaning back slightly in his chair, his arms crossed across his chest. "Only two 'rounds' if you will. One based on strength and the other based on speed." he explained. "You'll be racing one of my Kappa's and then sparring a member of the pack of my choosing."

He smirked slightly at her, almost hoping that she'd have something to say about his decision. He didn't want to fight, no, he just wanted to see her fire.

"If you have any questions about this plan, I'll do my best to answer them shortly. In regards to my father, ignore him. He likes to believe that he still has a say but this is my pack." he reinforced the statement. "While there may be some who are wary of you, they will not do anything to you. My father can complain and gripe all he wishes. The only ones who will most likely indulge him are some of the elder wolves, but they know better than to go against me. They are loyal until the end."

(Round 2: FIGHT!)

"If you ever do leave my home, I'll make sure you have a similar bed. To start, your things should arrive within the next hour or so. I'll have someone let us know the second they arrive."

Enora couldn't help but smirk in response to his joke regarding her appreciation of the current bed she was using. It would suck to have to go back to sleeping on a hard mattress, but for now she was going to at least enjoy that small part of this otherwise stressful experience. At least the tone of their conversation wasn't intense. She had worried that being direct might not go over very well, but she hated fake pleasantries and sugar-coating things. She rarely even bothered to lie since doing so was always more trouble than it was worth.

"As to your second point, you have a good idea. That's why you'll be performing in a public demonstration of skills. Only two 'rounds' if you will. One based on strength and the other based on speed." he explained. "You'll be racing one of my Kappa's and then sparring a member of the pack of my choosing."

She wasn't really pleased with having to demonstrate her strength, mostly because she knew she wasn't actually that strong as far as werewolves go. She wondered who she would be sparring against, but it wasn't like knowing the name would help her out much. She'd just have to stick to what she did best and hope it was enough, as well as not getting severely injured. She was fairly certain whoever she sparred with would not hold back in fighting against a member of a rival pack.

"If you have any questions about this plan, I'll do my best to answer them shortly. In regards to my father, ignore him. He likes to believe that he still has a say but this is my pack. While there may be some who are wary of you, they will not do anything to you. My father can complain and gripe all he wishes. The only ones who will most likely indulge him are some of the elder wolves, but they know better than to go against me. They are loyal until the end."

"Are these demonstrations going to be back-to-back or will there be time between them to say, allow for some recovery? If I get injured during one of them and have to proceed to the next one, I'll probably perform badly. Not to mention a drain on my stamina. It'd give my opponent an unfair advantage if that is the case," Enora said, trying to direct the conversation towards a negotiation.

"As far as your father goes, and as disrespectful as what I say next will sound, some things that are said should never be taken lightly. To you, perhaps you see no threat, but to feel any security in your position with your own father against your decisions... well, you're either a fool or ignorant. Or I could be wrong and you have the brute strength alone to fend off challengers. Maybe you have the blind faith and loyalty you think you do. However, I am not going to put myself at risk and 'ignore' those who pose a threat to my person."

( Fable Fable sorry if it's kinda short and sucky? I feel like I need to get back into the swing of writing Isaac and I didn't want to keep you waiting *cries* im still so tired forgive me )

Isaac blinked calmly, understanding her worries. Listening to her words, he understood the unease she felt, and he liked that she was aware enough of any possible outcomes. "Of course you'll be given plenty time to recover." he stated, leaning back slightly in his chair. "I want you to perform at your best for both rounds, no matter who you're up against. Once you feel you're ready, we'll begin the first round. The race will be done first, seeing as I have yet to speak to the wolf you'll be sparring." he explained.

Tilting his head ever so slightly, to watch Enora as she took in the news, he had to admit that she had valid points. Not that he was going to change his view, but he could see the logic behind her words. He just didn't necessarily agree.

"I won't have any unfair fights here." he finished, stretching out his fingers as he opened a desk drawer and began to dig through the small mess of belongings. "And for threats to your person, I wouldn't expect you to let anything happen to yourself. If something does happen, I know you'll do whatever you deem necessary to protect yourself and I won't fault you that." he explained. "However, I will not say that I'll agree with how you may react, but I won't blame you for defending yourself if someone under my orders steps out of line."

(He's calm... too calm. Lol. Now mine is small too. -dramatic fall to knees-)

Enora had expected more of a reaction to her words regarding his father. She basically insulted him and he just didn't seem bothered in the slightest compared to when he grabbed her arm hours earlier. She could speculate all day about his behavior, and as much as she knew she shouldn't assume anything about anyone, it was a hard habit to break. Sometimes she liked to think she could read people, but Isaac now made her question what type of person he was.

"I'll defend myself in whatever ways are necessary. I'd rather not get into fights, but that doesn't mean I won't if it comes down to it. But, that's if someone is stupid enough to try something. As far as when I'd be ready to race, probably tomorrow. I'm not exactly... in running attire," she said looking at her rumpled clothes.

"So, sometime tomorrow I'd be fine with, though I would prefer a time after the sun has risen. I don't think I'd fare well waking up in the early a.m. two days in a row. Also, do you have any idea of what you plan to do with me yet?"

( Fable Fable TOLD YOU IT WOULD BE BETTER HA! xD )

Isaac nodded at words, finding them to be fair. He hoped and prayed that nothing would happen, though he knew it would be unwise to just hope. He almost sighed, knowing he'd have to go over a list of people who were more vocal in their dislike of bitten wolves and outsiders.

Tomorrow, he mused, thinking of her next words before nodding in agreement. "Yes, that sounds like it'll work fine." he added aloud, watching as she gestured towards her rumpled attire. "We can start the race at 11." he offered, raising a brow. "You'll have had time to get ready for the day and prepare and then afterwards you can rest and eat until you're ready for the next round." he explained his thoughts. "Depending on how you feel afterwards, we'll determine at what time exactly we should start the second round."

"As for what to do with you?" he asked. "Well, that's also what tomorrow is for. Seeing as I only have a vague idea of your skills, testing you in this way will give me a better idea of what work you'll be doing." he answered. "Although, I do think I have an idea already, but I just need to be sure that I won't be setting you up for failure."

He made to say more when there was a sharp knock on the door interrupted them. Furrowing his brow for a moment, he quickly realized who was most likely at the door. "Come in," he called out, and a second later, Malcolm walked through the door, a smaller and younger wolf entering after him. Isaac smiled at the sight of one of his own Delta's.

"Malcolm, Jake!" he greeted, standing to his feet, reaching out to grab the second male's hand, not having seen him for a few days. "Jacob, I want you to meet Enora. She'll be staying here for a while, until everything with the treaty is settled." he explained shortly, gesturing towards the seated she-wolf.

Jacob smiled, offering his hand for her to shake as well. "Nice to meet you," he greeted. "I'm Jake. In case you hadn't figured that out." he added, laughing slightly. He turned back to Isaac. "Alpha, I just wanted to let you know. Her things have arrived."

Isaac nodded, clapping his hands together once. "Perfect!" he announced, turning towards Enora. "I'll let you go and get your things together and we'll talk more in the morning about anything else that comes up before the race. If there's anything wrong with your belongings, let Malcolm know and we'll make sure to get to the bottom of any problems. How does that sound?" he asked.

(YAY PERGRESS - yes, spelt that way on purpose.)

Yes, that sounds like it'll work fine." We can start the race at 11. You'll have had time to get ready for the day and prepare and then afterwards you can rest and eat until you're ready for the next round." he explained his thoughts. "Depending on how you feel afterwards, we'll determine at what time exactly we should start the second round. As for what to do with you? Well, that's also what tomorrow is for. Seeing as I only have a vague idea of your skills, testing you in this way will give me a better idea of what work you'll be doing. Although, I do think I have an idea already, but I just need to be sure that I won't be setting you up for failure."

Enora sighed. He'd kept saying he 'had an idea' of what he wanted to assign her for, but no matter how many times she asked he always gave the same answer. At least there he was being annoyingly consistent. As much as it was bothering her to not know, she was going to have to try and have some patience about it since she was unable to get him to say anything more on the matter. As long as she wasn't doing the omega chores, she'd be fine with almost anything.

They were interrupted with a knock on the office door. Malcolm and an unfamiliar wolf entered and Isaac offered them both a friendly greeting. Enora remained seated, though she did turn her head to the side to look at the two males. When Jacob smiled at her and held out his hand, she stood up and took his hand, giving a proper handshake. She'd hopefully eventually remember the names and scents of everyone in this pack. Even as a werewolf she still had a tendency to forget names, scents however weren't a problem.

"I'll let you go and get your things together and we'll talk more in the morning about anything else that comes up before the race. If there's anything wrong with your belongings, let Malcolm know and we'll make sure to get to the bottom of any problems. How does that sound?"

"Sounds fine. I guess I'll see you tomorrow before the race."

Malcolm escorted her out of the office and back to the room where she was staying. There were only a few boxes since she didn't really own much since entering into pack life. She'd pretty much sold off most of her things and put the money into a savings account. The only things she kept were her clothes, phone, laptop, and a few personal items that held some importance. Malcolm shut the door behind her once she was in the room, once again standing guard to make sure she didn't run off and cause any trouble.

She dug through the boxes looking for her phone and laptop. Both were missing as she suspected. The question was, who was in possession of them.

"Hey, Malcolm? You know where my phone and computer are by any chance?"

There was a pause before he answered, "Your boxes were taken as they were given to us, so I assume that they decided to keep those items rather than send them over."

Enora sighed loudly in frustration. Those were her things, but the pack acted like everything was shared. It wasn't likely that they'd find anything concerning on those things anyway. She hadn't exactly left her previous life on good terms, so the numbers there were now just memories of her past. Her laptop also had only ever been for pack business as well. Though it did contain some personal pictures. Maybe Macolm was lying and they were the ones that took the items. Whatever the truth was, she didn't have them.

She pulled out a pair of running shoes, a pair of black yoga pants, and a heather grey t-shirt to wear for tomorrow's race. She left everything else in the boxes, not bothering to unpack since she didn't want to get 'settled' in a place where anything could change in an instant.

----

When it was getting closer to the time of the race, Malcolm knocked on the door, entering a few moments later despite Enora not sating he could come in. She was already dressed and ready to go, but a question had come to mind. She didn't know any of the trails or paths in this territory.

"Minor issue," she began, "How am I supposed to know what path to run?"

( Fable Fable LET TEH GAMES BEGIN =3 )

"We have a track used for training and testing the speed of younger wolves." Malcolm replied right away. "Come, I'll show you the track. The Alpha and Noah should already be there." he said, turning and exiting Enora's room, setting a fairly quick pace towards the front door and towards the large training center positioned between the regular pack house and Isaac's personal home.

"The race won't be anything too complicated," he continued, barely glancing over his shoulder to make sure that the she-wolf had kept up with him. "I haven't been told the details, but it's like that you'll just be going a few laps. The track is fairly large, so I doubt you'll be doing many." he added, thinking back to when he was young and had to run the course himself. He chuckled softly to himself, thinking back to how horrible his first run through had been.

Turning off the road after a few minutes of walking, they came upon a tall building obviously meant to be a gym. "I've been told that after these trials, if you'd like to take advantage of the equipment here, you have full permission to do so." Malcolm said, gesturing to the building. "We've got multiple set ups inside, I can give you a better tour later if you wish. Currently, we're going straight to the back." he explained, walking around the side of the gym and straight to the back where Isaac, Jacob, and a small crowd of others waited.

---

Isaac had woken early the next morning and immediately began to make preparations for the race that would be taking place in the next few hours. The night before he'd called his Beta to his office to go over the plans with him as well as one of his Kappa's, Noah. The blonde almost laughed at how enthusiastic the brown-haired wolf had been at being told he was going to participate in a race. It had been a while since Noah had been that excited, having been surrounded by wolves that he could defeat in a race easily. It was obvious the hunter wanted a challenge.

Isaac just hoped he'd provided one. He had no doubt that Enora was fast. The question was, was she fast enough? Based on what he'd been told by the Alpha of her previous pack, she was extraordinarily fast, but according to her, he'd been lied to for the most part, having been used as a plan to get rid of an annoyance. The thought of being used in such a way irked him, but he doubted she was fully correct on that note. He believed she didn't see herself clearly.

As a breeze flew past him and the small crowd around him, he lifted his head at the familiar scent of Malcolm and the fresh scent of Enora. He smiled, nodding to the man beside him, tilting his head in their direction. "We'll begin shortly." he announced to the bouncing Kappa across from him with a small laugh. Noah had never failed to bring forth a laugh from him, no matter his mood.

"Malcolm! Enora!" he called out a moment later, turning to face them as they walked up. "Good morning!" he greeted with a bright smile, his arms open wide for a moment of grandness. "Welcome to our Training Center." he told the female. "Here, let me introduce you to everyone else before we get started. The track is right here, and stretches the length of trees right here. Where the trees suddenly stop, the track loops back this way, connecting the oval." he explained, walking them over to the others gathered.

"Enora, I'd like you to meet my Beta Oliver Jones and one of my Kappa's, Noah Lox." he introduced, each man waving as their name was spoken. "And you remember Jacob Tyler from yesterday." Isaac nodded towards the younger man who smiled and waved at her.

Noah surged forward first, acting like a young teenager rather than a man of leadership in his early twenties. "Enora, right? Nice to meet you!" he exclaimed, grabbing her hand and shaking it excitedly, his eyes bright. "Alpha says your fast! I really hope so! It's been a while since I've been able to have fun taking anyone on!"

(-insert Hunger Games Theme- jk Also, sort of just had Isaac 'reply' a bit without putting words in his mouth so we can get to the race. X3)

"We have a track used for training and testing the speed of younger wolves. Come, I'll show you the track. The Alpha and Noah should already be there. The race won't be anything too complicated. I haven't been told the details, but it's like that you'll just be going a few laps. The track is fairly large, so I doubt you'll be doing many."

Enora was relieved she wasn't going to have to wing it as far as trying to figure out some path that this pack used. She honestly didn't think running along a track would fully show her skills, but that could come some time later. For now she could push her speed to the limit without having to worry about obstacles. Thinking on that, maybe suggesting an obstacle course wouldn't be too bad of an idea, honestly it'd mostly be something fun for her to do rather than actually serve much of a purpose.

"I've been told that after these trials, if you'd like to take advantage of the equipment here, you have full permission to do so. We've got multiple set ups inside, I can give you a better tour later if you wish. Currently, we're going straight to the back."

Enora was a bit jealous of the fact that Isaac's pack had its own gym. Her pack had a very small room that had some gym equipment, but nothing to this scale. Everything else was done through physical labor and training. However, as Malcolm stated she might be allowed to use the gym she got a bit excited, mostly wanting to explore and be nosy to see what they had. She continued to follow behind Malcolm as he led her to the back area where the large oval track was located. She saw the small crowd that had gathered to witness the race, though it clearly wasn't the entire pack. She wasn't able to see if Isaac's father was watching, so it seemed it might end up being more word-of-mouth to the elder ex-Alpha that she wasn't a pushover.

Her attention was pulled towards Isaac as he called out her and Malcolm's names. He seemed to be in a good mood this morning. Enora could only quirk a brow at his seemingly enthusiastic energy, as well as the one called Noah she was introduced to. She looked both the Beta and Kappa over to try and gauge their threat level. The Beta would obviously beat her in a fight, most likely. She hoped he wasn't the one she was going to spar with. Noah was a bit... hyper... for a hunter. Though perhaps his excitement was due to getting to race someone new that he might find as a challenger to his speed.

Enora nodded at Jacob, only be to startled by Noah grabbing her hand suddenly to shake it, which ended up shaking her whole arm due to the Kappa's eagerness. She awkwardly tugged her hand away, not in a rude manner, but rather just trying to save it from being shaken off of her shoulder.

"We'll determine how fast I am on the track," she replied. Enora knew she was fast, but she was't about to gloat about such a thing, especially if there was always a chance that Noah was faster than she was. He had the advantage of a facility to train with. She turned to greet the Beta Isaac had introduced her to before turning to Isaac directly.

"How many laps?" she asked, wanting to get this race started. A quick glance at her shoes to make sure the laces were secured, a little bit of a stretch while standing and she was ready to go. Based on where things were located, she figured out where they were starting from and began to move towards that area. She stopped at a thick white line and then let her eyes scan the track to stucy the curve of the oval. It'd been a while since she'd run on a track.

She watched as Noah happily joined her at the line, almost bouncing in anticipation. Isaac went over the rules of the race and also announced how many laps they would be running. They took their positions, Noah simply standing while Enora took a classic starting position you'd see most trained runners using. This wasn't normally how she would start off, but if they were going to use a track, launching herself from this position would give her an advantage. She listened as Noah talked in a bubbly manner about his happiness about this race and wishing Enora good luck.

Malcolm use a gun with a blank shot to tell Enora and Noah to run. Without any hesitation or distraction, she used her legs to launch herself forward taking Noah a bit by surprise by the fact that she already had so much momentum from the start. He wasn't too far behind her though, only a foot or so at the start of the race. Enora was pacing herself and using this time to see what Noah was capable of. A perk about becoming a werewolf was she found her stamina was much more than it had been when she was human. Noah eventually was even with her in pace and she pushed to go just a fraction faster. She did this the first few laps, slowly increasing her speed until she saw that Noah had hit his limit. He was now pushing himself to keep up and it was his determination that was pushing him past his limit. If he kept going at this rate, he'd wear himself out before the final lap.

Enora didn't change her tactic and the distance between them steadily grew lap after lap, until she was actually nearly half a lap ahead of him. This wasn't even her full speed, but since she was familiar with the standard length of a track and how many laps they would be doing, she didn't want to waste her energy at the start and be a show off. However, with only two laps left, as Enora whooshed by Isaac she gave him a smirk before she took off at full speed. She was now a full lap ahead of Noah as she raced by him, earning a disbelieving look from the Kappa. She kept up this pace for the last two laps and then once she crossed the line they had started at - having completed the required laps - she didn't halt to an immediate stop, but slowly decreased her speed before jogging back over to where Isaac was. She was sweating and breathing a bit heavily, but she looked actually... happy. She loved to run.

"Satisfied?" she asked between breaths.

"Satisfied?" Enora asked between breaths.

Isaac hid a smirk behind a hand as he scratched idly at his chin. "Quite," he said as calmly as he could. Internally he was extremely proud and happy, and it took effort to control himself. If he wasn't so pleased with what he'd just seen, he would be ashamed with himself for barely being able to restrain himself like a pup. It was no matter in the end though. He was just grateful to see that his idea seemed to be proven correct. "Such a nail biting race at first." he commented, his eyes bright as his mind raced with the possibilities of how his pack could thrive with Enora's speed. "I'm glad to see Noah now has someone to challenge now."

Said male jogged up to the two, panting heavily with sweat rolling down his face causing his shaggy brown hair to stick to his forehead. Leaning forward with his hands braced on his thighs he grinned widely, not too bothered by the fact that he was beaten. "You bet!" he laughed weakly. "Sure I hate to be beat, but it's nice to have a goal again!" he cheered before lowering his head and wheezing somewhat dramatically.

Malcolm and Jacob rolled their eyes at the Kappa but Oliver laughed loudly, coming up behind Noah and slapping him heavily on the back, causing the smaller male to stumble forward with a small cry.

Oliver was a large man with sandy brown, almost blonde hair and was about the same height as Isaac. He knew his strength, but he knew Noah could take a little bit of a shove after such a workout. The man shared a look with Isaac before turning back towards the others, laughter in his eyes. "So this is what our great Kappa has come to? Being beaten in a race by a new comer? After just yesterday complaining about how things were getting boring around here?" he joked, watching as Noah flailed wildly. "Is it just me, or do I remember hearing something about how no one could challenge the Great and Mighty Noah Lox?"

Jacob burst out laughing at that, having been in the gym with the two yesterday when the smaller male had announced his boredom with racing the same people.

"No!" the brown-haired male cried in mock panic. "No no no no no no no!" he cried, stamping his foot in a childlike manner. "I didn't say that at all!" he insisted, his already flushed cheeks turning a bit darker in his embarrassment. Malcolm snorted, gaining another cry of outrage from Noah while the others laughed.

Isaac watched with fond eyes as his friends and pack members laughed with each other. The sight relaxed him and gave him hope that things could remain this way for a while longer. He wasn't foolish enough to hope that it would be forever - he knew he'd have to deal with his father at some point - but for now? Seeing them all relaxed and joking in such a manner in front of a strange she-wolf was something to be thankful for. He turned his head slightly, glancing at Enora from the corner of his eyes, trying to gauge her reaction to his pack-mates actions.

The Alpha in him couldn't deny that he was pleased with her skill. During the race she'd been smart and knowledgeable of her limits while also analyzing Noah's limits and his charge forward strategy. He smiled softly, knowing that if she put forth a little effort, she'd fit in quite easily.

"So," he said after a minute of silence, watching the rest of the group tease each other. "When do you think you'll be ready for the next trial?"

(Kinda got a bit of a writer's block going on right now. I sat down to write and now I'm like "Huurrrr cannot think." So apologies if it's lacking. T_T Think it's from an overwhelming to-do list on my mind. I'mma gonna have to make a list of all these side characters, lel. And gaaahhhh I feel bad for giving you such a subpar post.)

Enora focused on her breathing, taking deep even breaths, a practiced skill. Noah wasn't slow, but he just didn't know how to run properly. Enora had some formal training which which used to her advantage. It didn't take too long for her breathing to normalize as she no longer needed the extra oxygen to feed her muscles. Noah didn't seem the slightest bit bothered by the fact that she - an outsider - had bested him in something he had pride in. She was so used to bad sportsman like reactions that when Noah trotted over laughing, she had been surprised.

"You bet!" Noah laughed weakly. "Sure I hate to be beat, but it's nice to have a goal again!"

His remarks and dramatic wheezing caused her to smirk in amusement. He wasn't slow and should be actually push himself and train, he probably would become faster than her. However, she'd be training herself to keep that from happening any time soon. If they were going to let her use their equipment, she was going to take advantage of it while she could. Her eyes moved over to Malcolm, Jacob, and Oliver as they approached. None of them were bothered by her beating the one claimed to be their faster runner. Instead they were laughing, joking, and teasing on the matter.

"No!" the brown-haired male cried in mock panic. "No no no no no no no!" Noah cried, stamping his foot in a childlike manner. "I didn't say that at all!" Noah insisted

Enora coughed to cover her laugh as she watched the packmates joke around. It was a completely different dynamic than what she was used to in her own pack. It wasn't as though she never joked around with her own packmates before, but that there was always a bit of nervousness when she did, that she would get into trouble. Her Alpha had never really cared for her presence and she'd be called a bad influence a few times. Having your own Alpha make it clear he didn't like you tended to make others want to stay away in order to avoid getting in trouble from associating with her. The pack member's here didn't seem to have that reservation; for now.

"So," Issac said after a minute of silence, watching the rest of the group tease each other. "When do you think you'll be ready for the next trial?"

"Probably the day after tomorrow, just in case my muscles are somehow sore from today. Doubtful, but I'd rather not have to worry about that disadvantage. Am I allowed to know who I will be sparring against yet? I'd sort of like to size them up, see how they're built. Though if you'd prefer I go into the match without any information on the, that's fine too."

( Fable Fable you're fine lol. Now we've both done it and I'm blanking again on how to make this longer cause it's mostly dialogue xD. But I'm off today and tomorrow and I'm so happy you have no idea lol )

Isaac nodded at her words. "Alright, we'll play it by ear then." he said. Looking towards Oliver who had caught the last of Enora's question, he nodded his head, telling him to come closer. Glancing away from his Beta then, he watched his pack for another moment before scanning the area around them. Today was a good day so far and he really didn't want anything to spoil it.

As Oliver stopped in front of him, his lips twitched slightly. "Enora, obviously you remember Oliver." he began, his voice light with amusement. "He's who you'll be sparring against."

Oliver smiled, detecting Isaac's amusement in the situation. He wondered if the she'd made a comment earlier about something regarding him. "So, the date decided?" he asked them both, eyes flicking between the two curiously.

Isaac nodded. "In a way." he said. "Most likely the day after tomorrow though. We don't want an unfair spar, so we'll wait to make sure she's in top shape." he explained, sliding his hands into the pocket of his jeans. "Especially after such an amazing performance."

Oliver nodded. "I agree." he said, turning towards the shorter girl. "Very impressive," he told her with a grin. "I can't wait to see how you spar." he laughed. "No one's been able to shut Noah up for a while now, so it's nice to have someone shut him up."

"It's a very good thing." Isaac laughed. "Just be careful, he'll come to you asking for a rematch until he beats you." he warned.

"I know it hasn't been very long since you arrived," Oliver started. "And I'm sorry I couldn't be there to greet you both when you arrived. Work you see," he laughed. "But I hope you're finding everything to your satisfaction. No one's said or done anything towards you, correct?" he asked, becoming a tad serious now. While he was free to joke around and mess with his pack, he did take his job very seriously. And Enora was now on her way to becoming pack, whether some liked it or not. It was part of his job to make sure she was safe, and he would make sure she was comfortable in her new home.

(Okay, think I'll be caught up on my RPs with this post~ Also, the posts during lots of talking don't need to be super long. :3 )

Enora, obviously you remember Oliver." Issac began, his voice light with amusement. "He's who you'll be sparring against."

Enora's featured faltered for a moment when Isaac informed her that she'd be sparring against his Beta, Oliver. At first glance she already knew she didn't stand a chance, and it seemed Isaac probably knew that since he seemed amused when he told her. She had expected someone of a lower rank such as a Epsilon, for Isaac to choose his Beta, it worried her. The defensive side of herself began to think he was setting her up for a guaranteed failure. Understandable, but for a moment she actually had thought Isaac wasn't such a conniving type of person. She remained silent as the two males spoke, the earlier relief and relaxed stance changing to something a bit more tense.

"I know it hasn't been very long since you arrived," Oliver started. "And I'm sorry I couldn't be there to greet you both when you arrived. Work you see," he laughed. "But I hope you're finding everything to your satisfaction. No one's said or done anything towards you, correct?"

"Well, the former Alpha made it clear about his thoughts on my presence. I think he's more of a traditionalist than the pack Alpha of where I am from. But, I have a comfortable bed and Malcolm mentioned a gym I might be allowed to use, so things seem to slowly be improving. I do have to admit though, I hadn't thought I'd be going up against someone like you. Just, try to not knock out any of my teeth."

---

Enora spent the next day letting her legs rest. They weren't actually sore - werewolf healing and all - but to this day it was a hard idea to shake that her muscles would be tender after running. She spent her time trying to strategize how she could survive her encounter with Oliver. The moment he landed a hit, she'd probably lose the fight. That meant a tactic of dodging and getting in as many small and vital hits she could. She wasn't sure how quick Oliver was on his feet, but she hoped it was slow enough to give her a chance.

The day of their match, she was led to an open area with a large circular area of dark brown dirt. There were more observers this time than compared to when she raced against Noah, probably because of who her opponent was. They were all there already waiting for her. Noah looked excited, but almost nervous as well as he greeted her and wished her luck. She approached Issac and Oliver, and compared to both of the men, seemed like she'd not have a fighting chance.

"Remember, I'd like to keep my teeth," she greeted Oliver with the reminder.

The day of the second trial, Isaac and Oliver had arrived at their main sparring area an hour before Enora was to arrive. While the two talked over Isaac's worries about his father, multiple members of his pack began to show up, having heard about Enora's victory over Noah the day before. The thought made Isaac smirk. He knew having her race first would draw in a crowd for her second trial, and as long as she didn't lose to Oliver in the first few minutes of this spar, she would quickly be recognized as someone not to be disregarded.

His father would have no reason to challenge his placement of Enora.

Noticing how much time had passed, he nodded at Oliver who was watching Enora approach with a smile. As she came to a stop in front of them, they both laughed. "I'll do my best." Oliver chuckled, reaching out to pat her on the head. "When you're ready I'll meet you in the dirt." he grinned before walking off, leaving the two alone.

Isaac smiled, enjoying his best friend's humor before facing Enora. "How are you feeling?" he asked, watching her for a moment before lifting his gaze to scan the crowd that had formed. He frowned, his eyes narrowing slightly at the sight of his father staying near the back of the group. He sighed, pushing that to the side for the moment to focus on the she-wolf in front of him before she went into the dirt. "Think you'll last more than five minutes?" he asked, his voice teasing.

"As long as you do your best and last as long as possible, you'll have done fantastic. I need you to remember this though," Isaac added as an afterthought. "Winning is not important in this case. Showing your skills is what matters. Not just to me. To help make your stay here easier you need to take this seriously." he said. "Not that I think you don't, I just need to say it. Make sure it's known." he sighed, running a hand through his hair. He smiled softly a moment later. "Whenever you're ready, go meet Oliver. He'll go over the rules with you."

(Taking over for a bit to get things a-going. Sorry the fight seems quick. X3)

"I'll do my best." Oliver chuckled, reaching out to pat her on the head. "When you're ready I'll meet you in the dirt."

Enora's lips pursed in the tiniest of pouts and her eyes narrowed slightly as Oliver pet her head. It made her feel like he regarded her as some sort of a child. However, maybe if he did that could give her an advantage. She wasn't going to fight dirty, but that didn't mean she wasn't going to not use any available weaknesses to survive this ordeal.

"How are you feeling? Think you'll last more than five minutes?" Isaac asked.

Enora had followed his gaze and spotted the elder werewolf, scowling in the back of the crowd. It was the quickest of glances, but she suspected he noticed her hard gaze at him. Part of her wanted to push through with a challenge, to point at him and shout out that she wanted to take him on. She refrained, since doing such a thing would not go over well at all. She wanted to say it was instinctual, blame it on werewolf biology, but honestly she really just wanted to beat the shit out of Isaac's father to show how tough a bitten person could be.

"As long as you do your best and last as long as possible, you'll have done fantastic. I need you to remember this though. Winning is not important in this case. Showing your skills is what matters. Not just to me. To help make your stay here easier you need to take this seriously. Not that I think you don't, I just need to say it. Make sure it's known. Whenever you're ready, go meet Oliver. He'll go over the rules with you."

"Here I thought I only had to last 8 seconds, like a cowboy riding a bull," she tried to joke, but her tone held some irritation, not at Isaac, but at his father. "And believe me, I know what will happen if I don't take Oliver seriously. Seems like a warm kind of guy, but that doesn't mean he couldn't break my neck if he really wanted to. Anyway, enjoy the show," she said with an almost dismissive wave as she walked away from Isaac to join Oliver in the pit.

"So, ground rules," Oliver said, clearly intending it to be a pun which earned a few laughs from some nearby pack members that overheard him, "Firstly, no shifting. Human forms only. There will be three rounds. If a person leaves the dirt area or is pushed out forcefully, they lose the round. Clean fighting rules as well, so no hair pulling, crotch shots, eye jabs, throat squeezing, elbows, or false calms of serious injury to open up your opponent for an attack. If you are seriously hurt, you best just concede. Isaac is the referee, he starts and ends the rounds and calls out fouls. Understood?"

"Got it," Enora replied. There were no markings in the large dirt circle, and he hadn't said they needed to stand anywhere in particular when they started, so she moved away from where Oliver was currently standing to put as much space between them as she could, almost right to the edge of the circle. It was daring, but she needed the space to buy her time to get some speed if needed in the first round.

Oliver stood where he was and rolled his shoulders as he smirked at Enora, clearly ready to enjoy their controlled brawl. There was a long pause and then there was the sound of a blank being fired from a gun to signal the start of the fight. Oliver wasted no time in charging forward at Enora. He was quicker than she expected, but she delayed moving out of his way until the very last moment. He wasn't able to stop in time and ended up skidding right out of the dirt circle causing a whistle blow and the crowd to murmur lowly amongst themselves in reaction.

"Oliver left the arena. Round one goes to Enora."

Oliver laughed to himself as he returned to the ring, Enora smirking back at him. That was her one freebie win and she knew it. The next two rounds were not going to go in her favor since she'd basically used her best trick to make him wary. It served a purpose though, it made Oliver more cautious about charging towards her. After a bit of them pacing and circling each other for a few seconds, the gun sounded again to mark the start of the second round. Oliver didn't charge towards her this time right at the start. Enora raised her fists in a very amateur-looking boxer manner, like hell she'd hit him hard enough to do much. The gap between them closed and Oliver swung one of his fists which Enora barely dodged. He followed it up by using his other fist to swing and punch directly into her gut, knocking her backwards and the wind a bit out of her. She staggered away and gasped, barely avoiding a fist aimed for her face. She rolled away and scrambled back to her feet, her chest heaving for air.

Oliver came at her again knowing he needed to take advantage of her situation. He moved to strike and even prepared for her to try to dodge again, however Enora blocked this time - a very painful decision that would leave a mark - and managed to get a few quick jabs into Oliver's ribs before he grabbed her and basically tossed her harshly to the other side of the dirt arena. She landed with a painfully loud thud and let out a grunt of pain. She pulled herself back up onto her feet as Oliver approached. His next swing missed as she leaned to the side and then lowered her body to rotate and knock Oliver's legs out from under him. He hadn't said she couldn't kick him while he was down, however her plan didn't work out very well. As she moved to kick him, he grabbed her foot and tugged it, causing her to topple over and land on him. They struggled and rolled for a moment before Oliver had her in a firm hold, squeezing so hard that it was difficult for Enora to breath.

"S-Stop," she gasped out, earning a release from Oliver, who stood up and then held out his hand to help her; which she declined.

"Enora concedes. Round two goes to Oliver."

She heaved for a moment as the pack cheered for their Beta. Once she felt as ready as she was going to be, she stood fully erect and took a deep breath as she stared down Oliver. The gun sounded again. The third round Enora spent mostly taking attacks of opportunity. She'd block or dodge and then take a few quick hits and retreat. Her tactic to wear him down was working, but not at the speed she had hoped. Oliver had stamina and endurance unlike any others she had fought against. He got in a few good hits, one to her ribs (which were probably bruised), two to her back, and some smaller hits to other spots that were sure to leave their mark. Enora used the dirt to try and slide away from Oliver, but she hadn't gotten away fast enough. She had been trying to lean back to avoid his fist, only she hadn't timed it right. So, instead of hitting her in the shoulder or chest, he hit her smack in the throat.

Her eyes widened as she choked loudly and collapsed onto the ground, grabbing at her neck desperately. Oliver let loose a string of expletives and shouted out for a medic as she coughed up some blood. It had clearly not been his intention to hit her there, but it was one of the worst spots for his strike to land at that moment. Enora's eye watered as she tried to breath, but could only get out raspy breaths, she couldn't even answer his questions because her throat was swelling from trauma.

( So I'm actually not sure what the medics would be doing to help her so that's gonna be pretty vague and up to you to go into more detail xD )

"Shit!" Isaac cursed, lurching forward right as Oliver called out for a medic. Dropping down beside the two in the middle of the arena, he gestured for Malcolm to make sure everyone stayed back other than the Theta and Iota that were rushing over. Meeting Oliver's eyes as Isaac shifted to hold Enora, he could see the guilt forming in his Beta's eyes.

"She should be fine," he told him in a hushed voice over her body as the two medics crouched beside the she-wolf and began to take care of her. "Go help Malcolm. Keep an eye on my father," he added the last part as a hushed whisper, sparing a glance at the elder who was watching the happenings from a small distance away, a sneer on his lips. The almost delightful look in his eyes at Enora's condition causing a snarl to slowly build in his chest. Isaac tore his eyes away from him. "Go."

Nodding, the blonde man pushed himself up, muttering an apology to the she-wolf before leaving, knowing he wouldn't be of any help. He'd only be in the way.

Watching his best friend leave to help disperse the crowd, Isaac could only sigh and watch helplessly as his Theta and one of their Iota's hurriedly tended to Enora. "It'll be okay, you'll be right as rain soon." he promised her, brushing back a strand of hair before being forced back by the lead medic who needed more room to work. He sighed again, running a hand through his short hair before turning back to the crowd that refused to leave despite both Oliver and Malcolm's attempts to get them to leave.

A low growl built up in his throat and seconds later it tore through the area, silencing everyone. Isaac let the silence sit for a moment, the only noise being the soft mutters of the two medics behind him working. Taking a deep breath he let his authority as Alpha roll over him. "Obviously this event is over." he spoke with finality. "There is no need for everyone to clamor around and cause problems for our guest and the medics working on her."

"Listen to any order given to you by Malcolm or Oliver and go back to your daily business. There is nothing else to see here." he finished, watching as his pack began to slowly disperse with muttered complaints about not being able to see anything. He closed his eyes in slight annoyance as he made an effort to not roll his eyes at some of his more stubborn pack members. "You two, please go make sure everyone listens. And keep an eye on my father. He was a bit too glad about this accident. I don't need him to try and plan something." he muttered, keeping his voice low so only Malcolm and Oliver could hear him.

Seeing them nod before taking off, Isaac relaxed slightly. Just enough to be able to pay attention to what was going on behind him. Turning, he crouched down beside the trio, but a good distance away so he wouldn't hinder anything. "Will she be okay?" he asked, praying that he didn't end up lying to Oliver earlier.

(Okay, going to try this again. Last time I tried the internet died... so I lost my post and I ragequit on RP replies for a bit.)

"She'll live. It's not life threatening, but it is serious We need to get her to the clinic," the medic replied, quickly nodding as the other lowly mentioned that her neck was fine and not broken from the impact. They gently lifted her up before one of the medics carried her away, the other following behind as they quickly moved towards the small clinic. Thankfully it wasn't too far from where they were. Enora was laid down on a small medical table struggling to breath. One of the medics quickly wrapped her throat in ice packs trying to help control the swelling. They pressed a clear plastic oxygen mask over her nose and mouth to try and help her breath.

"Esme you have to try and breathe in a slow and calm manner. We don't want to have to do a tracheal intubation, which means sticking a plastic tube into your windpipe to help you breathe. I want you to squeeze my hand once if you understand."

She felt a warm hand slip into her own and she squeezed as directed to let them know she heard what was said. The two medics talked back and forth with each other, trying to decide how to best proceed. They clipped a small finger pulse oximeter on her right index finger. They mentioned it was a little low, but not enough to need drastic intervention. They monitored her for the next two hours before decided to take her back to the Alpha's home. She was carried to Issac's home and brought to the familiar guest bedroom where they laid her down, with strict orders to only move as needed. They put the pulse oximeter back on her finger instructed her to ice her throat for fifteen minutes every hour to help with the swelling. There was an angry, dark blue-purple bruise on her throat where she had collided into Oliver's fist and it was difficult to swallow, but she was still able to breathe on her own.

One of the medics went to find Issac and inform him about Enora's condition while the other stayed behind to keep watch over Enora. One he located the Alpha, the medic cautiously cleared his throat before speaking, "Sir, she's stable. She's got a nasty bruise, a bit of swelling that has thankfully been going down. She shouldn't talk for the next few days to avoid aggravating her throat and should probably stick to eating soft foods as well. It shouldn't take longer than three, maybe four days, for her to be back to normal. She has a great healing factor for a werewolf. We've brought her back here to rest, there is a sensor on her finger. If her oxygen levels drop for some reason, it'll beep pretty loudly."
