BACKSTORY : For as long as the Stavros family has existed, the Laskaroti have served them. The servient clan values loyalty, obedience, and discretion above all else. Katina is no different in that respect and is carrying on her family legacy within the estate. Her mother and father are no longer present, though she doesn't go out of her way to mention it. Instead, the Mater and Pater have become like her parental figures, only increasing her loyalty to them. Many valuable secrets are locked behind her lips. She speaks little and smiles sweetly. Mater , also known as Ptolema Stavros, is the current matriarch of the Stavros family. Upon first impression, Ptolema is friendly, charming, but still refined, wise, and diplomatic. Despite her amicable manner, inside Ptolema lies a shrewd, cunning mind, savvy in the ways of business, blackmail, and manipulation. Raised to be the heir to a multi-billion dollar fortune, she is strategic, disciplined, intelligent, and a bit of a control freak when it comes to her wine company. Despite the immense pressure placed upon her as a child, Ptolema is a genuinely loving person, and considers everyone on Iolcais her family. Ptolema is friendly to strangers, and was never sheltered as a child, but she is ultimately distrustful of anyone from outside the island. When she's not conducting business, Ptolema can be found in the many gardens surrounding the Stavros villa, and is wise in the ways of plants and their properties. Those on the island know her to be a magissa, a healer. Ptolema is unafraid to set anyone inside the house in line, though when in sorrow or anxiety she tends to isolate herself. On an island of hedons, Ptolema tries to set herself apart from the common rabble, but within, she too desires to simply let go of all inhibitions. The festival of Dionysia, which she hosts annually on the island, is the only chance she has to let those inhibitions go and let her desires run free as wild animals. Relationship wise, pater is her rock; they let her unwind from her worries and fears. Without pater, Ptolema would be a hot mess. As for Callie, Ptolema rests all of her hopes and dreams for the company onto her, just as Ptolema's mother did, but at the same she wishes for Callie to live her life as she pleases. Ptolema pays frater little attention - his careless ways have left a sour taste in her mouth that never seems to dissipate. Dorothea "Dottie" St.James​

Dorothea is a spritely twenty-year-old who is looking forward to the vacation with her friends. She doesn't really know a lot about her friend Calliope's family, but she is very gracious that they extended the invitation to come and visit. Dottie is a biology and physics double major at her university, and she is looking forward to learning about the local floral.

Dorothea is warm-hearted and charming. She has no issue making friends. She loves to ask people questions, particularly about themselves. She always found that people love to talk about themselves, but will rarely do it without a bit of prodding. This also lets her do more listening than talking, which is right where she's comfortable. Dottie likes to make people feel welcomed in her presence. She has some 'mom friend' tendencies. If someone were to look at her while she was out with a group of friends, you might be able to catch her doing a headcount to make sure she has everyone. While she is always down for spur of the moment trips, Dorothea is always going to try to streamline it as much as possible. Dorothea can be a bit of a cynic, she knows that people are mostly acting in their best interest, sometimes without regard for those around them. Dottie has been burned before and she won't let it happen to herself or her friends again. She can't fib if her life depended on her, so she's always direct with people. Lying makes her so uncomfortable, she's been known to occasionally break out in hives if she tried to lie. Like her parents always said, even when you have nothing, you still have your word.

Dottie has a lot of passion in life, and they seem to change as frequently as the weather. Her most consistent love is her love of science. She wants nothing more than to be remembered for that one extraordinary discovery that she just knows she'll make one day. She'll geek out about microbio or biostatics every moment of every day if people would let her. Some of her other nonacademic pursuits include music and dance. Piano and ballet to be exact. Dottie has been training in both since she was a little girl. She likes the precision and repetition the require. She has been known to dabble in gardening, but this is just a passive hobby of hers.

Dottie comes from a very large, upper-middle class family. Her mother is a dentist, and her father is a chemistry professor at the university she attends. She has nine other siblings, six older and two younger and one twin. Dorothea had a falling out with her parents when she was a young teenager when she came out as a lesbian. She left her parent's home to go live with her oldest brother and his wife. Dottie's brother and sister in law were a godsend to her. They didn't have a whole lot, but they shared whatever they could with Dottie, and she is forever grateful. Everything she does, she does so she can pay them back one day. Her relationship with the rest of her siblings is on the mend, with the exception of her twin sister. Her twin sister, Lottie, took the side of their parent sand Dottie still hasn't forgiven her for that. Her parents and Lottie have since come around, but their relationship is still strained with a long way to go.

Dorothea values her friendships so much because of her past. The words 'found family' mean everything to her. She holds onto her friendships with ferocity and is terrified of losing the connections she has made with them.

And then Charlie died, and Rosie just broke. She became equal parts desperate to be liked and desperate for everyone else to keep up. It made Vanessa bitter and withdrawn, she preferred her own company to being disappointed by others, and no-one could live up to the pedestal she put her big brother on.
Calliope was, an exception, there was something in the way she saw the world, something almost close to magic.
