    Woman on the Move

Sensitive: Isla takes things to heart very easily. While she won’t necessarily show it, she can be quite easily affected by other people’s thoughts and actions.

Stubborn: It can be quite difficult to change Isla’s mind once she is resolved on something. Concrete evidence is usually the only thing that will sway her.

Nosy: She’s always had a curious nature. Sometimes, she can take it a bit too far and pry where she shouldn’t be prying.

Determined: Isla works hard to achieve what she sets her mind to. She always will stand up and dust herself off when she is met with failure.

Confident: Sure of herself, Isla is happy with who she is and wouldn’t change herself to please others.

Adaptable: Isla is able to roll with the punches. If things don’t go to plan, she is able to adjust herself so that she can keep heading for what she wants.

    history

Isla Cameron is the second child of Annie and Paul Cameron. She was born four years after her older brother Riley. She was born and raised in Fallbrook, New York. Her mother is the school nurse at Fallbrook Elementary School and her father is a mechanic. They lived a comfortable life in the small town. Everyone knew everyone, so even while their parents were working, Isla and her brother were always looked after.

As a teen, Isla, like most small-town kids, dreamed about something bigger. She itched to see what life had to offer in a city, see more than just her own little bubble. She applied to colleges in several major cities. Obviously, New York, because it was so close. Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles, and Dallas. Her brother, Riley, was the opposite. He chose to follow their father and become a mechanic himself. Annie and Paul were not willing to send Isla so far, plus it was expensive to send her away to school on a plane on top of all the other costs of a college education. So, she ended up going to college at NYU.

She did well, graduating with a marketing degree and a job with a decent salary. She stayed in the city, sharing an apartment with her best friend, Twyla, in the Lower East Side. And things were great. She dated here and there, though nothing incredibly serious came along. She was doing well at work and progressing in her career. Eventually, Twyla moved out to live with her girlfriend, Lana.

From then on, things got a little dreary. Work was fine, but growing more and more stressful. She hardly saw Twyla anymore and her other friends seemed to be busier and busier. Honestly, things got a bit depressing. She stopped feeling like herself, but she kept on, knowing she was lucky to have all that she had. Objectively, she was doing great, so she didn't want to complain.

One day her mother called, she was sick. They caught it early, but she had breast cancer. That's what got Isla to move home. She worked remotely while she stayed at her parents and helped her mother while she was unable to work. Luckily, treatment, though rough, went well and Annie went into remission. Since moving back to Fallbrook, Isla found herself much happier and ultimately decided to stay in her hometown. Disillusioned by her job, and with no desire to return, she also decided to quit her job.

Isla saw an opportunity that she couldn't pass up. It was her new path forward. The cafe she worked at while in high school was shutting down since the owner was retiring. Isla stepped in to buy the cafe, using all the money she had in her savings to get the business started. It's been two years since she opened the Sunny Side Up Cafe. Now, she lives in an apartment above the cafe with her two dogs and couldn't be happier.

Personality:
+Goodhearted - Despite her ruff exterior Roxie can be very kind. It shown through her actions mostly then through her words, which can be harsh. She the type to do something for someone without expecting a thank you or anything in return. She's also the kind to help someone without them even knowing its her. She doesn't really care if someone knows she's doing something good if she feels the need to help/be kind to someone she will.
+Loyal- Roxie is very particular about who she allows herself to get close to and just how much she'll allow a person in. But once she does consider you a close friend she's very loyal to them. Though her being loyal doesn't mean she won't call them out on their bullshit. But once that trust she's given a person is broken it is very hard to get back.
+Creative - Roxie loves art, storytelling and music. She's very a creative person and is usually at her happiest whenever she is working on a art piece. Despite her being graphic novelist she stil does free lance art work just for the fun of it. She also likes singing and writing music which she does sometimes whenever the band she was in college ever needs her.
-Blunt - Roxie is a very blunt person which can be a good and bad thing but a lot of times it does just comes off rude though if you know her somewhat well enough her bluntness might not bother you.
-Insecure - Because of Roxie's past she is a bit insecure and tends to have a low opinion of herself sometimes. It's not as bad as it use to be when she was younger but it's something she still deals with.
-Distant - It takes a little bit to break through Roxie's walls. Even people who are her friends she tends to keep a wall up to. But that doesn't mean she's just some grumpy loner in fact she can be a lot fun to hang around. She likes to tease, joke and hang out with people. She likes to have fun and party and drink, though she does tend to drink to much. It's just that she doesn't let people to get past a certain point cause she's afraid of getting hurt. Especially when it comes to anything having to do with the heart. She's quick to reject anything like that in a second though.....she may or may not have a soft spot for romantic movies and novels but she'd never admit that.

History:
The Hearts are a very high-class millionaire family coming from a long line of old money, at least on her father's side, Nickolas Heart. Deanne Heart, her mother, comes from a normal middle class family. Her father is big business man and her mother in fashion. Being born into a family with such wealth and achievements it can be tough especially when you're the youngest.

Roxie is the youngest of the family and has always had a tough time especially since her parents have a habit of comparing Roxie to her older sibling Isabella. Isabella was always and still is the favorite. She could do no wrong in their parents' eyes. Isabella was beautiful, smart, athletic, outgoing, fashionable, charismatic, and a leader. Everything Roxie pretty much wasn't. Roxie was a very sweet, kind, shy, quiet and socially awkward girl. She was also kind of a fearful girl, didn't have much courage but Roxie was smart. She always the top of her class and gets straight A's. She has a great memory and picks up on things very quickly. That was the only thing her parents complimented her on though even then that wasn't enough to get their praise. They were always comparing Roxie to her sister and even when came down to looks. While her sister always made sure to look nice with her hair and makeup done up Roxie would have her hair in a braid down her back with and wear her big glasses. Roxie wasn't good enough in her parents' eyes and still isn't.

School wasn't much better either when she wasn't at home getting told she wasn't good enough by her parents she was getting bullied pretty badly at school and by her sister of all people. Roxie had very few friends everyone else either didn't talk to her or bullied her, but as long as she had her head phones, sketch pad and pencil she was ok. The only relief she got from her life when she was reading or with her grandmother. Her grandma, Ruth, ran a diner called Joey's Place in Fallbrook, it was named after her grandfather. Roxie loved going there and helping out. Whenever Roxie was feeling down her grandma would always cheer her up with giving Roxie her favorite thing from the menu. The place had an old fashion feel to it and the food is old recipes passed down the family. It had been in the family for a long time but no one wanted anything to do with it. The town the diner was located in was nice charming town and Roxie loved coming there. This town, her grandmother and the few friends she had there was really her saving grace.

Things continued on like that but she had hope things would get better once she reached high school, it didn't in fact thing only got worse. The bullying started to get more physical and the few friends she had at school all abandoned her. Though she now alone at school she felt content at least she knowing had her few friends in fallbrook. Roxie had already developed anxiety during middle school but it gotten even worse once she got to high school she even fell into depression. Everyday she tried to blend in to the background just so no one would notice her.

Roxie continued to roll on but something happen that almost completely broke Roxie. Her grandmother had died. Roxie felt like her entire world had shattered. The funeral was the last day Roxie step foot into Fallbrook. Time went by and cycle continued and she just went deeper and deeper into herself barely speaking anymore.

Finally it was time for graduation and for the first time in while Roxie felt like a weight was lifted off her shoulders and felt proud as well. She graduating honors, the top of her class. She knew her grandmother would have been proud. This day she was so genuinely happy about wad completely ruined by a prank. When she went on to the stage to give speech, just she was beginning to speak suddenly a bucket of paint fell on her head. Before her brain could even process what had just happened there was roar of laughter, mainly from the students. They were point and laughing and yelling out names her.

For a month she never left her room her. She'd breakdown crying saying how much she hated everything and everyone. Then finally one day something snapped in her. She had finally had enough. She was tired of being treated like dirt and wasn't going to deal with it anymore. That day she had big personality change. After having this revelation she packed up and moved out of her parents home not looking back. She went to college as business major and during those years she picked up a drinking habit. But she also made a few friends and was even part of a band. She still is but now its only part time. She only sings with the band whenever the lead singer isn't available. She does though sometimes still write songs as well. Roxie is still in school. She's actually been doing online classes for the past two years. But just a month ago Roxie moved to Fallbrook and it's definitely been nostalgic for her in good and bad ways.
🌹

questions.
how long have you lived in fallbrook?
A month

what brought you to fallbrook (or if they are from here, what made you stay in fallbrook)?
Most of her good memories are here and she plans on someday reopening Joey's Place. She noticed no one has bought the place yet.

what are you volunteering for at the festival?
She's open to anything but mostly she'd like to help out with decorations and art stuff that needs to be done and music.
