The Lawgivers of old raised vast tributes to their own glory, from ziggurats of burnished orichalcum, to floating glass statues in their own likeness. These edifices served to remind the people of Creation that their Exalted masters would never fail to watch over and protect them.
This Charm is used to supplement a Dramatic Action to craft an item of Resources value of at least 3. The item must be some kind of large-scale design that either depicts or is dedicated to a specific person.
As long as the Charm’s motes remain committed, anyone who sees the monument will be struck by the grandeur of whoever it depicts. This acts as an unblockable Social Combat attack, with a dice pool of (Maker’s Essence) + (Threshold Successes on item creation) + (Depicted subject’s Essence). If the monument is dedicated to its maker, count his Essence twice. This effect is activated each time a given person sees the monument, but no more than once per day per person.
Failure to resist this attack counts as one step toward establishing an Intimacy of “Protect and obey the individual depicted by the monument”. Degrading this Intimacy requires the expenditure of a Willpower point for every step. This counts as unnatural mental influence.
This effect remains in place only as long as the motes remain committed. If the commitment lapses, it can be resumed by any person with this Charm for the full 10 motes.
