Abilities :: Rhea is first and foremost a soldier. She was raised by her father, and as is typical for those of the Petilian line, has been trained in the art of combat. Rhea is a battlemage, whom fights well with a straightsword, and uses varying magickal abilities to compliment her fighting style. She strikes fast and hard, using her free hand to break the poise of her opponent, and create an opening for her to wound them.

Personality :: When she was younger, she was fairly hot-headed, though knew when to keep her mouth shut. Years of resentment of House Montclair has bittered her attitude though. Rhea despises the power and control that Queen Amelie has, and despite ruling her own Empire, cannot shirk the fact that the Petilian Empire exists because Amelie allows it. That feeling of powerlessness drives Rhea to the point of infuriation, and one can only imagine she will one day snap. Rhea has the tendency to be too outspoken, and quite aggressive in conversation; though she will not lightly resort to physicality like Annalise Montclair tends to.

History :: Born into the Petilian line, and daughter to the previous Emperor, Rhea was raised in the palace of Mor-Ost, on Udunnim. From a young age, she was treated respectfully by the servants, and catered to perhaps too often by her father - which unfortunately led to an ingrained sense of self-righteousness during her younger years. Her mother attempted to stave off the 'bratty' attitude, but when she fell sick with a peculiar lung condition, she became incapable of paying the proper attention to her daughter. Eventually, Rhea's mother's breathing ceased entirely, as her lungs failed, and she passed. It acted somewhat as a 'wake-up call' for the Empress-to-be, whom took more heed to her mother's teachings as a result. The Emperor's grief was short lived, whom had already come to expect the death of his wife, after having seen her state of illness for many months, and had thus prepared himself for the worst. Of course, that did not mean it had no impact. The Emperor paid more mind to his position, giving less of his time to Rhea, whom reminded him so bitterly of his deceased wife; and eventually decided to have her sent north to Caran Arda, to undergo combat training. Rhea was barely into her twelfth year by this point, and was seemingly too young, but regardless was intent to do her father proud. The Empress-to-be spent the better part of ten years in Caran Arda, having been trained in martial arts, as well as educated in the ways of diplomacy, and in the history of her own people and that of Doredhel and Silme Asea - all in preparation of her future coronation.

Upon her return to Mor-Ost, Rhea found herself alienated from her father. He did not know the young woman, still perceiving her to be the little girl whom had departed at his behest an entire decade ago. Thus she engrossed herself in her education, surpassing the expectations set before her, and continuing her studies. History, arcana, foreign martial arts; she would do anything to distract herself from her father, whom failed to understand her. Gaius, a fellow student from Caran Arda, had returned to Mor-Ost with Rhea; whom had pulled some strings and have him invited to the Palace to stay. Despite the whisperings, their relationship was far from romantic, considering each other more akin to brother and sister; and spent most of their time together, be it studying or sparring.

In her twenty-seventh year, Lord Valerius of Raen Unque, assaulted the capitol of Udunnim. In an attempt to seize power, and overthrow the Emperor, Valerius had been quietly gathering an army and had marched upon Mor-Ost. The battle never reached the confines of the city, Valerius failing pitifully to even breach the walls of the city, and was to retreat further north. The forces of Mor-Ost did not relent however, and pursued Valerius north. Rhea was among the Udunnim forces, commander of her own regiment, and proved herself to be utterly ruthless in battle. When her men caught up with the remnants of Valerius' army, she forced them into battle. It was a slaughter. She did not bring Valerius to trial, instead opting to punish him herself, and executed him on the field of battle.

The Empress-to-be was reprimanded for her actions by her father, and was stripped of her position as Commander; but it had little impact but to sour her mood. She was the only heir to the throne, and regardless of her actions, she would become the next Empress. When the Emperor finally passed, Rhea's coronation was swift to follow, coming before the funeral. Since her return from Caran Arda, the relationship between Rhea and her father had not improved, and during the funeral she had no words. Many believed her to be silenced by her grief, though those close to her knew better.

Since, Rhea has ruled for seven years with an iron will. She is strict with her laws, and allows no room for dissent. Despite this, she is well respected, perhaps even loved (though possibly feared) by her people. Rhea has proven herself to be a leader whom desires the best for her Empire, though utterly ruthless and merciless to those that threaten its sanctity. One does not wish to make an enemy of her, that is for certain.

Other than her martial ability with a blade, which as I said relies on quick and precise strikes, and fighting mostly reactively, as opposed to relying on pre-determined moves - doing what she can to punish her enemy - Rhea fights with similar magical abilities to Taure's own "alteration". It's a sort of telekinetic ability, though she is far more precise in her use of it.

Regarding her magical capabilities. I wouldn't say she's a powerful sorceress or anything, but she's not completely incapable either. As I said, she's mostly suited to complementing her fighting style. She can augment her strength by using force. For example, when attempting to parry an enemy using a far large weapon than her, she can push against them with magic, and thus reducing the impact of their weapon, and making it easier to deflect or redirect. She can directly push or pull enemies with force, not enough to send them flying in any direction, but enough to make them stumble, and if off-balance can knock them over - often she'll use it to pull their weapon or shield out of the way, and create opportunities.

She often uses her free hand, when not casting magic, to punch, push or grapple her opponent, trying to knock them off-balance, and using the opportunity to cut them down.
