  Tony is a psychiatrist's dream, a boiling combination of a broken family, disadvantaged upbringing, and a bordering psychopathic tendency towards violence. Of course given the state of the last man who tried to psychoanalyse him, any psychiatrist who did want to try and tease out the coil webs of Tony's psyche would most likely want him quite safely restrained
  
  The living embodiment of shoot now ask questions later, it always appears that Tony could be on the verge of another violent episode. Famous, or perhaps more correctly infamous, for his hair like trigger, snapping over seemingly the smallest or most inconsequential thing. Even more worrying is his incredibly dry sense of humour, and so you can never quite be sure whether he's pulling your leg or about to rip said leg off you.
  
  Despite this deficiencies, Tony is loyal to a fault, he knows to keep his mouth shut, hardy enough to take a beating, and too prideful to open his mouth for a reward. Combined with his absence of any sort of empathy or moral compass, he may be a loose cannon, but he's a very useful one if pointed in the right direction.

  History:
  
  Born Anthony Richard Harris, Tony grew up in the East End of London, Whitechapel to be precise. His father was a docker working the warehouses, whilst his mother was a seamstress. The East End was much like it was in the Victorian era, a deprived shit hole. His family had little to nothing in the way of money, and lived in a two room house. His father was an alcoholic and both an abusive husband and father, both Tony and his mother feeling the sting of his belt or the back of his hand whilst in his house. Then the war came that funnily enough brought 2 major improvements to 7 year old Tony. Firstly the implementation of rationing actually brought about an increase in the food he was receiving, in fact this was a trend in poorer communities with children’s health raising dramatically. The second major improvement came about through a German HE 111 medium bomber which managed to hit its designated in the Docklands with pinpoint accuracy, wiping out not only a substantial warehousing area, but also Tony’s father. With his father's abusive domineering presence, and his mother the same quiet personality that had been subject to his father's abuse, Tony essentially had no checks or balances which led him on his journey which would eventually lead to the Moretti crime family. Him and his mates started by looting the ruins of bombed out houses and buildings during the blitz and V1/V2 attacks. After the war they progressed onto more brazen crimes, muggings and break ins. Though never caught during this period, it was clear that on his current path, he was heading towards some sort of conviction.
  
  This path was changed however once he turned 17, and the National Service Act of 1948 kicked in, stating that males between the ages of 17 and 21 would have to serve a minimum of 18 months in the military. This was in 1949, and as a result, a year into his service, the Korean War broke out. Shipped out to Korea with the Gloucestershire Regiment. It was at the Battle of Imjin River that he encountered the horrors of war, his Battalion was left with an effective strength of 109 men after 3 days of fighting against overwhelming odds. Whilst some men never recovered from the traumas, Tony was effected in altogether different way, he embraced what he saw. As a youth he had always been something of a thug, often in trouble at school for bullying or fighting, now he found a place where his violent side was nurtured and encouraged. As a result when his period of service came to an end, he was one of the few to sign up to the regulars, and thus entered the Parachute Regiment as a regular private, and went onto serve in the Suez Crisis, and Indonesia. Though praised for his actions under fire and in combat, he was reprimanded several times by officers for misconduct from bullying younger soldiers, showing impertinence towards superiors, and there was suspicion (though never proven) that he was part of a group that had stolen military supplies which were then sold for profit. However as in his youth there was never quite enough to convict him. As such he managed to retire from the army in 1967 at the age of 35 with an honourable discharge though still holding the rank of Private.
  Having returned to Civilian life he soon returned to his own ways, and within a month of returning to London he has already fallen foul of a few old enemies, which had resulted in 2 bar brawls, a burnt down garage, and one body washing up on Putney dock (The man’s face was so badly beaten that they had to rely on dental records in order to identify the body). It was the second bar fight that forced Tony to leave London. The pub in question was an Irish one, Tony had turned up already steaming drunk and demanded a pint, which was of course refused. This small slight resulted in Tony throwing the barman through his own collection of spirits, and knocking out 2 of the regulars. It was only a week later that he discovered that the bar was owned and operated by an Irish Gang with strong roots throughout London, and they had Tony’s name on the top of one of their lists. Thankfully one of Tony’s old childhood friends put him in contact with an associate of an associate, a certain Mr Moretti based out in Miami who was looking for ex soldiers and cons for a move he was making in the Big Apple. With nothing to tie him down in London Tony accepted the ticket and with little more than a change of clothes departed Liverpool on a ship for Miami, but not before returning to the pub and burning it to the ground.
  
  Having arrived in Miami Tony soon carved out a role as Moretti’s jack of all trades. Need a bruiser of a bodyguard to protect you and intimidate anyone else, Tony was your man. Need a business owner roughed up to make sure that from now on he would pay on time, Tony was your man. Need a nice public and violent message sent to ward off competitors, namely through their bodies being found in various parts of the city, and not all in one piece, then Tony was your man. Whilst he has enjoyed his time in Miami, he has been chomping at the bit to make it into the big league, New York, to be let loose against the real enemy.

  As a child, Valentina was relatively reserved and spent much of her time studying or outdoors watching her mother in the garden. This was down to being afraid of breaking her father's rules and disappointing her family.
  
  Once she was old enough to demand more freedom, Valentina was able to grow more into herself, perhaps to the dismay of her father. Sarcastic, impulsive and at times indulgent, Valentina feels like she has a lot of living to make up for such a confined childhood. On the positive side, she is adventurous, sociable and hardworking. Despite the resentment she has for her upbringing, she cares deeply for her family and regardless of any arguments, she would support and defend any of them without second thought.
  
  At her darkest, Valentina is tormented by the last few years. Memories of losing most of her family along with being attacked by her ex-boyfriend often surface to the front of her mind. It's then that she feels the most vulnerable and appreciates the protection her family offers her.

  History:
  Growing up, Valentina didn't have as much freedom as her friends did. Her strict father was controlling. Though his intentions were to ensure his family's safety and to encourage them to strive for greatness, Valentina found it suffocating. When it wasn't Gabriel asserting his authority, her older sister was often domineering in their father's place. This meant Valentina kept to herself a lot when she was a kid, spending her time studying out in the garden where things felt less suffocating. Linked to her own mother's interest in gardening, Valentina was happiest when out in nature, around animals and other creatures. Her love for animals was something that continued into her adult life.
  
  As she grew older, Valentina was gifted more freedom to prove her father wrong and that she could be independent. She started studying as well as taking up a part-time waitress job she didn't need just so she could spend less time at home. She loved her life in Miami, hanging out by the beach with her friends and never being far away from the coast to enjoy days out with her mother. Even after her teenage years, Gabriel continued to judge and disapprove of her boyfriends. Though she was sure he had her best interests at heart, she hated that he always got in the way of her love life. In 1968, she started dating a young man she'd met at college. Calvin seemed like someone who would impress her father. He was smart, rich and responsible, yet Gabriel still didn't approve of him, giving the reason there was "something untoward" about him. Rejecting her father's assessment, Valentina continued her relationship with Calvin, becoming an official item and growing deeper feelings for him. However, only a year later, Calvin became possessive over her and when she ended their relationship, he physically attacked her. Valentina was unable to hide the marks from her face and certainly unable to lie convincingly to Gabriel. She couldn't help but admit her father had been right all along and this made her more appreciative of his ways. After that day, Valentina never saw Calvin again and though she suspects her father had something to do with that, she'd rather not know what really happened.
  
  In 1969, Valentina and her family had been due to attend her uncle's birthday party in New York. Gabriel's business in Miami had caused them to run late, which turned out to be lucky for them as they weren't at the party when the building was destroyed in an explosion. Unfortunately, Valentina lost grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins that evening. Any reservations she'd had about the Moretti Family's criminal activities were washed away when she learned the Irish Mob were behind the attack. She knew her father wouldn't let her get her hands dirty or take part in any jobs that would risk her life, but she still offered to help wherever she could. Committed to her family's business and the need to avenge those lost, she gladly help with hosting and administrative duties. The only part she didn't like was knowing that one day they'd have to leave Miami to go live in New York...

  Where as his elder sister took on the role of their parent’s enforcer and Valentina spent as much time as possible avoiding their parents and older sister, Marcus was the rogue element of the family, cocksure with buckets of confidence and an outgoing nature, happy to see how far he could push those limits and rules set by his parents, waiting until they were about to break before withdrawing.
  
  Whilst his parents may have been aiming to craft their son into a bit more of a refined and reserved figure, this has been met with some, but still limited success, whilst he scrubs up well in a suit and has the manners and sophistication to blend in well with high society, he still has something of a rough and ready nature to him, most likely a hold over from his sports career at College where he personified the gun slinging, ego inflated typical quarterback. That is not to say that he only cares about himself however, in his team he was the ever outspoken and vocal leader of the team, not afraid to voice grievances or issues, and more than happy to take the share of the blame to avoid it being heaped upon his teammates. This loyalty to his team, also translates to his family. Whilst he may occasionally get on the nerves of his siblings and parents, he is deeply protective and loyal to them all, reportedly ready to drive round the streets of Miami with a number of his team mates to find Valentina's abusive boyfriend until his father finally manages to talk/shout him down. As could be seen in this event his loyalty and confidence can occasionally combine into a sense of invincibility and headstrong behaviour, ready to barrel into a situation with little thought as to the consequences.
  
  Whilst he's had a string of girlfriends, none of the relationships have lasted particularly long.

  Marcus in the middle child, and so far only son of Gabriel and Elvian Moretti. Of the 3 Moretti children growing up, Marcus was by the far the most brash and willing to push the boundaries that had been set, whether this be by his father or by his older sister. As such his relationship with his parents and sister have been strained at times, made worse by the fact that Marcus is far too clever to break any of his father's rules, instead just pushing them to the very edge of breaking point. Whilst Valentina found solace in her own company, Marcus escaped the strict rules and regulations with his friends, often arriving back home a few scant minutes before curfew (and a few more times arriving some time after through his bedroom window) spending their nights on the Miami boardwalk with some drinks that they’d got an older sibling to purchase for them, something he definitely wasn’t open about with his parents, even though as he got older the surer he was that they must have had some idea as to what was really going on.
  
  Through a combination of his charm, cockiness and looks he inherited from his parents, he was a popular kid at school, combined with his natural athletic ability he ended up as the high school quarterback, further inflating his ego. Whilst he was a pretty average student, his ability on the football field enabled him to secure a place at the University of Miami, ending up as the starting quarterback in his second year, in his mind fully nailing the American dream when it comes to succeeding at University. The university life suited him, late night parties, weekend games where he was the centre of attention, and the near constant presence of floozies and hangers on. His last summer at College however changed everything. The only thing that stood between him and an early grave was his father's appointment running over the allotted time. The news from New York of his extended family's demise hit Marcus hard. He realised that all the rules that his father had put in place, the tough life lessons, they were all there to protect him and help shape him for an unforgiving world.
  
  Though the tragic event didn't warp or drastically change his personality, he found a new drive, to prove himself in the eyes of his father. To him the move to New York is the perfect way to prove himself in the eyes of his father, that he is no longer the carefree kid he once was, but ready to pick up the mantle of responsibility and do what is required.
  
  Between leaving college and moving with his immediate family to New York he took a job with the University of Miami as a Fitness coach, that however has had to fall by the wayside, and he has arrived in New York without a job.

  As the eldest child of the Moretti family, Tatiana was often expected to assume responsibility over her younger siblings and so grew up imitating her father's assertive, domineering character. Through a combination of working in the business and looking out for her young siblings, she quickly learned the importance of stoicism and reliability and grew to be conscientious and territorial. Never wanting to let her emotions negatively affect her family or the business, Tatiana has learned to keep them to herself and so is a rather private person. Because of this, she often struggles to be vulnerable and to open up about personal issues. Her father's disapproval of her sexuality taught her to compartmentalise certain aspects of her identity; while being a lesbian is not something she is at all ashamed of, being forced to keep it hidden from the world has affected her. She carries a lot of spite towards her father for not accepting who she is, which rises in her every time she acts on her attraction to another woman. Identity is important to her, which is why she will never apologise for being herself, why she is proud to be an active member of her family's criminal business and also why she holds onto her Italian and Romanian roots.
  
  At home, Tatiana likes to makes herself useful, upholding an air of responsibility to keep her father's respect for her in tact. However, while fulfilling her duties in the business empowers her to an extent, it is furthered by the life she leads outside of the home. Tatiana walks the streets like she owns them and has done things that would bring shame upon her family - notably her promiscuity among women. To her it feels like she leads two lives: one of achievement, focus and discipline, and one which allows her to truly be herself.

  History:
  Growing up in Sicily now seems like something of a vivid dream to Tatiana. Life there treated her well as a child and provided her with an understanding of her roots. Her home then became Miami when she was 7 years old, though she didn't understand for many years why the family business had taken them there. Fortunately, she found it an exciting place for her to live as she went through adolescence. Having developed an interest in leadership through observing her parents and asserting dominance over her younger siblings, Tatiana grew more and more curious of the criminal lifestyle that her family lead. By the time she became a teenager, she understood that they held a lot of power not just in Miami but in New York and Sicily, too - and she wanted in. Despite being bright, her studies dropped in her list of priorities as she turned her attention to training in a variety of martial arts until her family would eventually allow her to train with firearms.
  
  With the family business rapidly stealing her focus, school became less about education and more a place for socialising. It was through that that she fell into a large network of friends, some in gangs of their own. Her teenage years were filled with parties, with there always being a number of people to hang out with. She felt empowered to be part of such a group, growing less and less concerned by society's rules and expectations. One summer night when she was 16 years old, Tatiana was invited to spend an evening with her friends at the beach. There was a girl there that she had never met before, a friend of a friend visiting from out of state, and she felt a connection with her that she had never felt with anyone before. A moment alone was all it took for the two to kiss, and from that point onwards Tatiana knew that she was different. Driven by curiosity for her newfound identity, Tatiana set out to explore it as secretly as she could. She got away with it for a few years before word eventually reached her family. By that time, she was so sure of her sexuality that she couldn't deny it, and instead had to accept the rift it had created between herself and her homophobic father. However, since she had shown years of dedication in preparing herself to work in the business and had essentially proven herself as capable and useful, her sexuality did not affect her father's decision to allow her to be involved. Ever since then, Tatiana has felt pressured to keep her love life separate from her family and work life, as hidden as possible.
  
  Tatiana was 25 years old when the Irish Mob massacred her family up in New York. It hit them all hard, especially knowing that they had escaped the tragedy despite also been the mob's targets. Ridden with survivor's guilt, her desire to be strong for her family stifled her own need to be vulnerable, and so she instead ended up channelling her anger and grief into productivity. She dedicated all her time into avenging her deceased family members by helping her father to track down potential allies and enemies of the Porters and making schemes that would bring about their downfall.

  Jack is referred to, by most, as a compelling, easily-likable man. This cunning gangster could either become your closest ally or your worst enemy. Like himself, he tends to attract people who prioritiez leadership and who don't shy away from conflict. While he uses his charm for personal benefits, he also uses it like a card in business affairs for the mob. He may come off as a "Mr. Nice Guy" type, but can quickly turn into an aggressive and instinctual enforcer.

  Jackson was born in Waterford, Ireland in 1929. He was raised in St. Dominics Orphanage, till the age of 10. He was later adopted by Colin Duncan, an inspiring thief/con-artist. He used Jackson to transport important packages via rooftops, having him run up to as many as four transports a night. By the time Jackson was 15, he was transporting messages and contraband all over his small town. Along with running messages, he partook in illegal, underground cage fights, put into various tournaments. He wasn't so much worried about the law, for he'd usually lose them once he started scaling buildings and jumping from roof to roof. After making a name for himself, he started doing jobs for the O'Reilly Crew - from transporting packages to vandalizing cars and houses. Once he was fully indoctrinated into the Crew, he started taking care of hits. He eventually got so good as to where he could sneak into a house in the middle of the night, take out a target, and leave without a trace.
  
  While being a hitman, he continued to not only deliver packages, but oversee all transactions as well. Due to this position, he became fairly acquainted with the Sullivan Family. He grew close to the eldest son, Conor Sullivan, to the point where Jackson was always requested when it came to handling their transactions in Ireland. After the fall of the O'Reilly Crew, he was picked up by the newly established Porter Family, where his skills were carried out for their benefit.
  
  After ten years with the family, Jackson had become trusted as the head of security. His job entailed securing the many events the Porter family hosted, along with keeping family members and allies safe. His biggest test, however, came in the form of the Irish Workers Union. With radical terrorists knocking at their door, he was practically on red alert at all times. He was met with the full wrath of the IWU when they were the prime suspects of bombing his apartment, killing his then-girlfriend.
  
  He was given another chance to prove his abilities as head of security when Sinead's performance was in the Union's cross-hairs. Entering the club with his AK-47, stored under the back seat of his beloved Cresta, he massacred the assailants. There he met a wounded Blake Walsh, who had been planted there by the IWU to infiltrate the Porter ranks. She was soon indoctrinated and with Jackson's irresistible charm and dashing good looks, she was quickly turned to ally herself properly with the Porters.
  
  Throughout the period of the war for Dublin, Jackson was fairly confident in his abilities to keep the family safe. The real event that rocked his world was the death of Thomas Dempsey. The man he had thought of as a little brother died in his arms, due to what he considered a lack of protection during a vital meeting between the IWU and the Porters. Despite the armor plating he had forced everyone attending the meeting to wear, it wasn't enough to save the young man's life. From then on, he had learned to never leave anything to chance.
  
  The war for Dublin came to an end with the rise of the new era for Gardai, brought on by the new mayor and late Commissioner Phillip Morris. With the spotlight being put on organized crime, it seemed like a Pyrrhic victory for the Porters. The United States became a more profitable alternative once more, so the Porters packed up and left for New York. Jackson, however, stayed behind and continued to do what he had done for the Porters back in the 40s - which included running exports, with the new added responsibility of keeping Porter influence strong in Dublin, despite the larger presence of Gardai. Luckily for Jackson, he had the support of the citizens, which allowed him to drop his racketeering getup and instead focus on gambling and alcohol distribution, which Mayor Morris deemed far more acceptable.
  
  Jackson married Blake Walsh in spring of 1961 off the coast of Leinster. The couple then moved out of their apartment in Dublin and into a large estate in Dalkey. They'd live there for four years before welcoming their daughter, Natasha McCarthy.
  
  After a decade of running Ireland on his own, Jackson was called upon by James to accompany the Porters in New York for an indefinite period, as the tensions continued to rise.

  History:
  Adam was born and raised in the Bronx. His father an American and his mother Spanish. He was the eldest of three siblings, but far from his parents' favourite. Whilst his brother and sister were over-achievers, Adam was frequently in trouble at school. He cared for his parents, but he couldn't help but get himself into fights with other students and in arguments with his teachers. The only classes he showed interest in included sports and mechanics. As soon as he finished school, with average grades, he found himself work as an apprentice at a local garage. Whilst he was spending his days getting high and sleeping around, his siblings were attending college and then university. Adam held no ill feelings towards his siblings, who were seeking out careers in the pharmaceutical and scientific research fields, but he had no interest in studying and his only interest in such fields was testing out recreational drugs for his own enjoyment.
  
  Over the next few years, Adam got himself involved with a gang in the Bronx who were affiliated with the Irish Mob when it was led by Jack & Liam Sullivan. It might have been dirty money, but Adam was making a lot of it. He seemed to have found an area he excelled in; ranging from illegal dealing to eventually carrying out contract kills. Everyone was good at something, right? There had been a barrier between Adam and his family for some time, but when he got himself locked up in 1960, what little contact they did have was completely severed for good. Adam had no interest in contacting his family and he didn't care that they never visited him. They could have moved to the other side of the world and he wouldn't have batted an eyelid. His first prison sentence was two years long, for minor drugs and assault offences. He begrudged the sentence, but by that point, he was guilty of much more than the cops had been able to pin on him. Prison wasn't a place he'd have chosen to be in, but he made the most of his time in there forging alliances and sourcing valuable contacts he could use on the outside. All he had to do was gift his fellow inmates with contraband and provide them with protection, at a price. Oddly enough, the two years flew by.
  
  Once he was back on the outside, Adam was a more experienced man with enough skills and contacts up his sleeve to find himself climbing to ranks of the Sullivan Mob. When it came to Liam Sullivan's attention that Adam was fluent in Spanish and had relevant experience, he gave the man a promotion within the ranks. From then, Adam found himself spending his time flitting between New York and South America. Adam built up a strong allegiance with the mob's contacts in both Cuba and Colombia. Not only was he a middle-man for the deals between the South Americans and the Sullivans, but he also found himself fighting by the side of his Cuban allies. It was in Cuba that he became most skilled with firearms and perhaps the most desensitised to killing his enemies. Whether it was a bullet to the head or gutting a man with a hunters knife, up close and personal, it was no skin off his nose.
  
  Adam had spent five years back and forth since getting out of jail. In that time, his employer had shifted from Liam Sullivan to James Porter, but his role had remained practically the same. He tried not to form much of an opinion of the new man in charge, as he was employed to do a job and not form friendships in the process. Business and personal life were best kept separate. It was only during his second prison sentence, in 1967, that he began making friends with his colleagues. This time, he'd been locked up for assault, which was again nothing compared to the high number of far worse crimes he'd committed. He was on the same prison wing as Peter Callahan, a member of the Porter Family. They tended to communicate during meal and recreation times, the rest of their days being separated in different cell blocks. They formed a friendship over shared allies and Adam learned more about the family he worked for, realising there was more normality and humanity to the family than he'd realised. It made him feel oddly protective over the Poters, realising the times he'd worked as a bodyguard around their businesses had been about more than protecting money and materialistic assets. He'd even witnessed Conor Sullivan himself during visiting hours, seeing a gentle side to the man when he was with his family, rather than merely the violent nature he'd only witnessed from him.
  
  Despite his friendship with Peter, Adam had been unable to do anything to help the man through his hard time in jail. Peter was clearly having it rough, but both of the men's personalities meant it was something that would never come up in conversation. They had an unspoken understanding to keep such matters to themselves. Adam's hard times in prison hadn't come from him suffering at the hands on fellow inmates, it was quite the opposite. Adam hadn't hesitated to torture and rough up any prisoner who threatened to get in the way of his own operations. He had a healthy source of customers on the inside so that couldn't be jeopardised. There had been brief moments when he'd felt some guilt over watching others suffer as a consequence of their addictions, but business was business and he couldn't afford to make exceptions.
  
  Once back on the outside, Adam returned to his duties for the Porters. The drugs trade was at an all time high, so Adam was in his element. His time once again being shared between liaising with the Cubans whilst also working in New York as both an enforcer and bodyguard. He has to admit, over the last couple of years he has grown to care about the family through his friendship with Peter. He wouldn't show it explicitly, but it now mattered to him that his friends and allies made it out of every job alive!

  Blake is a steam roller who just keeps on going regardless of her own troubles. She is a determined woman who likes to see things through to the end. She can be serious when conducting business but Blake is very much people person and enjoys surrounding herself with people she likes.   History:
  Blake McCarthy (formerly Walsh) was born to Aiden and McKenna Walsh in a little apartment in the city of Dublin in 1931. The small family wasn't wealthy but just above the poverty line, just getting by with the money they had. Aiden and Mckenna were both factory workers trying to make their lives better. Blake grew up not seeing her parents often, but the time she did get with them she cherished dearly.
  
  In 1950, her father suffered a fatal heart attack while at work and died, leaving the two women in the house to fend for themselves. Blake worked many jobs, mostly just restaurant and bartending work until about 1956 when she met a man who said that she could a lot more money if she could get information for him. This started her career as an informant and would help whoever paid the biggest amount of cash. Her reputation was small but the connections she made were good enough to let her mother retire so she could live her life in peace.
  
  In 1959, the IWU came to her with a job, getting information on the Porter's who had a hold on the city of Dublin for quite some time. At a nightclub that the Porter's owned, she met Jackson McCarthy who aided her after the shooting. He may think his "irresistible" looks and "charm" made her have second thoughts about helping the IWU, but in reality, Blake had noticed they were doing more harm than good and she knew what she was doing wouldn't make either of her parents proud.
  
  After the war with the IWU was over, the Porter's moved to New York and Jackson and Blake stayed in Dublin. In spring of 1961, they were married off the coast Leinstar and moved from their apartment to a large estate in Dalkey. Four years later on May 4th 1965, Blake gave birth to their only daughter, Natasha McCarthy.
  
  Jackson was called to New York and Blake stayed back with Natasha in Ireland. But after a few weeks, Blake felt it wasn't right to be apart and hopped on a plane headed to New York with little Natasha...

  Brooklyn is a woman that doesn't take shit from anyone. Her curiosities and her moral compass lead her to the most disturbing and corrupt stories out there. She is stubborn and doesn't know when to quick, often putting her poor cameraman in dangerous situations because of her loyalty to give the voiceless a voice. She is always in search for answers on those who have been wronged and won't stop until she has them. She's passionate for her work, for the people she's worked with and won't give up her career for anyone. She comes off as abrasive at first, a bit cocky when you first meet her but deep down she's a very sweet and honest person who's just looking out for the little man. She's got a bit of a temper and if in an emotional state (which rarely happens) she tends to fly off the handle. She is very good at handling pressure and taking orders and is very quick on her feet, finding ways to improvise if need be.

  History:
  Brooklyn, so fondly named after the city she was born in, was born to Alison and Tristan Payne in 1936. Brooklyn was where she spent most of her life and there was plenty of action brought on by the mobs to keep her family worried. Her oldest memory of seeing a dead body for the first time was when she was about 8 or 9, returning home from school there had been a shoot out about a block away and while all the other kids avoided walking past the scene, Brooklyn dared to get a closer look. Having seen that body covered with a sheet was her journalistic awakening. Always having been a great writer, Brooklyn began at a young age to write about her experiences in the shady neighborhood that she lived in and even was gifted a camera for her birthday so she could go out and take pictures. Having gone to NYU, she graduated with a bachelor's degree in Journalism and was immediately hired by the BBC as a foreign correspondent. At the age of 23, she was sent to war torn Vietnam to provide stories of the war to update the U.S. on the war. Although she didn't agree with the war, she still reported 100s of stories on the U.S. path to victory.
  
  That first year, while out with a group of military members in field, they were captured by the Vietnamese as POW. While all of the prisoners were men, Brooklyn was one of only two women who had been captured by the enemy. She spent about a year and a half in the POW camp until the U.S. Military had sent in troops to blow the place to the ground. With the help of the Committee to Protect Journalist or the CPJ, Brooklyn was flown safely from the war and sent to the middle east for her next job. Brooklyn hadn't planned on staying in the middle east for 5 years but she had loved the people, the stories she was creating and the voices she was giving to those who needed to have one so she stayed until 1965 before returning back home in December of 1965.
  
  Ever since then, she's been covering more local stories, taking a break from the life she lead when she was younger and decided to stay close to home. Now she works for the New York Times as a investigative journalist and has actually helped to solve many cases along with the police. Recently, there have been a lot of attacks caused by the local mobs in New York and her next job that was assigned to her by her editor is to find the truth about what the mob(s) is hiding from the people of New York and just how much corruption they bring to the city.

  Amato Castello is a very static, blunt figure. He holds the typical tough-guy persona, and it fits nicely with his thick New York accent. Without looking at Amato, the average person would assume he was well above six feet and had to have his clothes tailor-made to fit his bulging muscles. In reality, Amato is overweight and just under 5'8, but that doesn't stop him from charging into heated situations like a steering bull. His bold personality has been both an asset and a weight on his experiences in life, with some urging to see if he could put his money where his mouth is. While his height is lacking and his wingspan is minimal, his fuse is short and when it is burned up, he'll fly like a wrecking ball. Amato is not one to walk away from a fight, for even if he loses, the opponent better be prepared for Amato to come back with a fully loaded handgun.

  History:
  Amato Castello was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1945 to a large Italian family. He grew up the youngest, and with all sisters, leaving him secluded from the family growing up. His path down crime started early on in middle school when he stumbled upon the foundations of extortion. He assembled a small gang of sorts, where they'd shakedown students between classes. While the act was criminal enough, it didn't hold a candle to what his rap sheet would contain later down the road.
  
  It wasn't until high school that he truly began his life of crime. After getting a job at a carwash his freshman year, he soon found out that it was a laundering front for the Moretti Crime Family. He gradually spent more and more of his time at the carwash until it eventually consumed his life. Instead of playing sports and doing homework, he was washing suped-up sports cars and drinking with men years older than him, men who would be considered old-school gangsters. The carwash had become such a big part of his routine, that he ended up dropping out of school and working there fulltime, unbeknownst to his parents.
  
  His job escalated from buffing tires and waxing doors to destroying public property and vandalizing stores. He'd arrive at the carwash at 8 am and leave by sunset with a pocket full of bills. One day, Amato's father had grown so tired of his involvement with the establishment that he went to speak with the owner. Instead of leaving with Amato, however, he left with a broken nose and death threats. From there on out, Amato had made his choice and was fully indoctrinated into the Moretti Crime Family.
  
  Years later, Amato moved from vandalizing stores to doing business with their owners. He'd offer protection in the form of a caring smile and open arms. When the payment wasn't made, however, the owner would find the barrel of Amato's handgun stuffed down their throat. With this new life of crime, Amato adjusted perfectly, as if it had been written in the stars. From there, his Napoleon Complex boosted his criminal career and earned him the nickname "Rooster".

  Johnson is violent, ruthless and has an impressive business acumen. Pretty much the three traits you'd want in your arms dealer. The last of the three is the one that he generally presents to his clients, the gregarious, smooth talking, if a little rough rounds the edges, Scotsman, his Glaswegian accent thick enough to wrap around yourself like a winter coat. Of course this only remains in place so long as those that he deals with play by the rules. His rules. The price and terms are set, by the time you get a face to face meeting and the wares are presented you stick to those terms. Any haggling or attempts to do one over are likely to be met with short shrift, and a few expletives thrown in for good measure, as well as the inevitable conclusion of having to find yourself another supplier as his ship/truck disappears out of sight.
  
  Johnson is not a violent man himself, much preferring to leave the real dirty business in the hands of his employees. The same high standards he applies to his customers and the quality of his own wares, he applies to his own staff. And whilst his operation may not be the biggest, you know you're paying for quality, both in the terms of the wares on offer, and the quality of service.

  History:
  Not much is exactly known about Johnson's early life. In fact few people even know his real name, going by his moniker 'The Colonel'. The nickname betrays his military origins, and he isn't afraid to boast of his previous service in Her Majesty's Armed Forces, of his campaigns and the medals he still keeps with him wherever he goes. He is equally unabashed in declaring his Scottish allegiance, though once again the thick Glaswegian accent gives this away. What is known is that despite his seemingly blemish free military career (as far as his word is evidence to this fact), is that through it he built up a vast web of contacts in both European arms contractors, and numerous high ranking members of tinpot dictatorships and banana republics, establishing himself as the self styled number 1 importer exporter of firepower to keep your regime in power. The Cold War is anything but, and as The Colonel knows, there are near countless political, ethnic, religious and social groups out there willing to impose their way of life at the end of a gun, and he's more than happy to supply the equipment needed, all in the name of profit. He doesn't care about your goals or your aims, as long as you're able to pay his bills. The very embodiment of cut throat capitalism at its finest, which makes it even more ironic that he's essentially ended up helping prop up a fair number of Communist groups.
  
  Whilst the mess that is the Middle East, Asia, and Post-Colonial Africa proved to be a perfect market, it wasn't enough for him. He had enough money to retire comfortably, in fact he'd achieved this goal some time ago, but it wasn't about the money anymore, it was the prestige. And given the chaotic nature of these regions just about anyone with a stack of Soviet churned out assault rifles could make a profit. So instead he went where everyone went to try and achieve their dreams.
  
  The New World.
  
  For the past 5 years he's been supplying American Organised Crime. From the Latino Gangs of the West Coast, to the White Supremacists of the deep south. Like he always claimed, he didn't care about goals or morality. As long as you paid your bills. A new front is opening however. Word has filtered down of a move on that unassailable fortress, that Modern Gomorrah, the Big Apple. A European war brought to America's shores, of Irish and Italians at each others throats. To a shark like The Colonel, such rumours are like blood in the water, and he's already circling.

  Those who don't know Jasmine often misjudge based on her soft and feminine appearance, assuming she's weak and requires protecting. On a personal level, it annoys her when people patronise her, but being underestimated can work in her favour if she's working undercover for her employers, the Irish Mob. Her father has always been an exception to the rule, avoiding comforting her if she was hurt, but instead teaching her to push herself to the limits and to hide her vulnerabilities from others. From this, Jasmine grew up to be confident, assertive and able face her fears. There are times when she recalls the painful and traumatic aspects of her father's tough training. However, she holds no resentment towards her father as she believes the benefits of being able to look after herself now she's on her own outweigh anything she might have suffered through when growing up. A big drawback of her upbringing is that Jasmine struggles to open up to others when she does feel afraid or vulnerable; often too stubborn to admit when she's physically or mentally hurt and needs help.
  
  Jasmine is an energetic person, both physically and in spirit. She's always up for adventure and will accept a bet or challenge, even if she knows the odds are firmly against her. Although she likes winning, she simply enjoys the taking part aspect of whatever fun challenge she gets involved in. A natural team player, she has learned how to work with with all kinds of people, which comes in good use when dealing with fellow members of the Irish mob. She doesn't mind getting her hands dirty and often finds it easy to fit in with her male colleagues, able to take any "banter" on the chin and often firing back at any sexist comments some of them are prone to making.
  
  Though it doesn't happen often, Jasmine likes making an effort and getting dressed up, which was something she enjoyed back in her days of protecting Sinead at her fancy club venues. It was spending time with some of the ladies of the Porter family that helped Jasmine to embrace her feminine side. Seeing the way the family continues to grow brings some envy into Jasmine's life. Although she's happy in her work, she does feel like something is missing, especially when she returns to an empty apartment after her shifts are done.

  History:
  Jasmine was the first and only child born to Joseph and Gillian Carpenter. Her parents had tried to have more children but it was never meant to be. A former soldier in WWII and then in some sense a soldier for the Sullivan gang, Joseph had always wanted a son to pass his skills down onto. He was fortunate that Jasmine wasn't the most precious of daughters. Though as a child she liked playing with dolls and make-up, she was equally happy getting filthy in the garden and play-fighting with the neighbouring children. Picking up on the girl's curiosity when she'd seen him training, Joseph set about training his daughter up. It started with toy guns in the garden, until she was old enough to handle and understand real ones at the shooting range. Jasmine genuinely enjoyed learning with her father and loved that he was proud of her, not to mention he didn't treat her like a fragile thing despite her angelic looks which often commanded adults to patronise her.
  
  In school, Jasmine was talented and excelled in most of her subjects, despite the only future she was interested in was one working for the mob. Though she succeeded in classes such as mathematics and the sciences, it was in sports and athletics where she excelled the most. A team player and physically fit, she put maximum effort into those classes. Outside of school, she also took on extra classes in gymnastics.
  
  In her early adulthood, Jasmine found employment as a hostess in one of the Sullivan bars until her father was confident she was ready to work for the mob more directly. In 1964, her father arranged a meeting with Liam Sullivan and Jasmine was soon given work in surveillance for the mob. Her innocent and attractive appearance made it easy for her to blend in undercover to gather any information useful to her boss. It was only a few months into her role that Joseph was arrested after an anonymous tip-off to the police. He'd abducted a man believed to have been spying for the enemy and when the man didn't give up any information, Joseph shot him dead. He was sentenced to life in prison for kidnap and murder.
  
  The time under Liam's employment was cut short in 1965 when he was murdered. Jasmine soon found herself taking orders from the new boss, James Porter. Although Liam's other employees vouched for her, she did feel like she had to start again, proving herself to the new man in charge. Thankfully, he soon trusted her enough to keep her employed in the roles she'd already been filling. After displaying her skills enough times, she was eventually given further responsibilities in the form of protecting members of the Porter family. Much of her early bodyguard duties had been accompanying Sinead Callahan during the woman's performances. Able to dress up in a glamorous outfit allowed her join Sinead without raising too many eyebrows or making those in the fancy clubs uncomfortable.
  
  As the years went on, Jasmine's roles within the mob became more intense. Her mother ended up moving to Boston to escape the criminal lifestyle, especially as tensions started to heat up within the city. With her own growing involvement in more dangerous jobs and the drugs trade, Jasmine was relieved her mother had moved away from any danger.

  Chase has never thought much of himself besides what he could contribute to his work, and so that is largely how he measures his worth. Always eager to please, he will take any order without question and, provided that he has the means, he won't hesitate to help somebody in need. While a life of violent crime wasn’t one he ever imagined himself leading, he is happy to do the dirty work, taking it in his stride without complaint. To ensure he doesn't get consumed by the darkness of his criminal lifestyle, however, Chase manages to hold onto the more innocent elements of his life, such as painting and music.
  
  His lifelong devotion to the business trained him to be focused and diligent, but it has also taken away many opportunities for more social ventures, including relationships. It can take a while to get to know Chase on a personal level as he is generally reserved and introverted - even shy and awkward at times - but once a connection is established he lets his true colours show.

  The tobacco farms of Pinar del Río in Cuba featured in every one of Chase’s earliest memories. From the age at which he could first walk, he assisted his father, Anton, on the farms that produced the tobacco for what was renowned as the world’s most luxurious cigars. Despite attending a small school, his average grades meant that he often went unnoticed. Chase was bullied for many years for his shy and introverted character, and as a result he directed his efforts away from education and instead found solace in his work environment. That isn’t to say that he didn’t have a childhood, however - the scenic landscape of Pinar del Río was his playground and as his father wasn’t a particularly strict man, Chase would often spend hours into the night exploring the hills with his friend Rígo, the son of one of his father’s colleagues.
  
  An ambitious man loyal to the industry, Anton advanced Chase from the farms to the factories in Havana. By the age of 15 he understood the profession inside out, and having always prioritised his work over his education, decided to drop out of school and work full time.
  
  When the end of the Cuban revolution brought about a trade embargo, which made a variety of imported goods from Cuba to the US illegal, the cigar trade fell into the hands of the black market. As one of the few employees with dual nationality, Chase, then aged 22, took an active role in smuggling Cuban cigars to the US. He was even taught to fly a plane in order to increase their reach. Their closest buyers were those of the Moretti family, based in Miami. At first they made strong profits working together, and it became apparent that the largest gangs and crime families were their best targets. At that point in time, the Irish Mob, led by Liam Sullivan, held significant power in the state of New York. Their distribution system set standards high, and after signing a business agreement they quickly became their most lucrative connection, and the strongest link in the chain.
  
  The exponential wealth and power that the mob accrued led to their other, weaker connections being gradually swept into the sidelines, including the Moretti family. In pursuit of a better deal and a stronger partnership, Moretti arrived in Havana to confront the leaders of the smuggling operations. Anton Zegarra made the mistake of standing up to him, which resulted in a fatal shot between the eyes. Chase was en route to New York when his father was killed, but Moretti’s actions shattered their partnership altogether, foregoing their profitable connections. Losing Moretti’s business, however, only meant that they invested more into the Irish Mob.
  
  It was shortly after Liam Sullivan’s assassination when cocaine exploded onto the market. Chase soon found himself working as a mule for not only Cuban cigars but also bricks of their finest white powder. Their connection with the mob grew even stronger, to the point where Chase became more than acquainted with their representatives on the trading front, who included Adam Harper and Syd Porter. When Adam was sent to prison in 1967, Chase was offered the opportunity to fill his position until he was released. Interested in working with the mob more closely, he took the offer and made a permanent move to New York City. His dual nationality, fluency in Spanish and many familial connections in Cuba gave him an advantage in managing business and relations overseas, and so he stayed to work alongside Adam after his return. Aside from occasionally travelling back to Havana, Chase found his place in the mob acting as a guard and assisting them on jobs as a soldier.

  Laid back to the point of being horizontal, a devilfish sense of humour, and an ego the size of a truck, Johnny is quite a driving companion. Combined with his seemingly reckless driving style, he can come across as quite a cavalier in his attitude, one that is tempted by his almost gentlemanly southern manner. He loves his job as it enables him to earn his money from behind the wheel, which is just where he's happy being. He prefers it this way, helps him keep something of a distance from the dirtier parts of the mob's work. Not that he's not willing to get his hands dirty, he just isn't the one for excessive violence, much preferring the smooth getaway as opposed to guns and sirens blasing, much cleaner and better for everyone that way.
  
  Whilst he has grown to love New York, he's still a country boy at heart, escaping when he can upstate with a cooler full of beers and some fishing rods. Whether it's with company or just keeping his own, getting out of the Big Apple and away from the hustle and bustle is something that he tries to do at least one weekend a month, time permitting of course, the mob doesn't exactly accept holiday requests.
  
  Whilst he wouldn't exactly be considered brawny, he can still hold his own in a fight, being more lithe like a cat. Johnny's quick wit, sharp tongue and propensity for sticking his nose where it clearly isn't always wanted has essentially made this skill a necessity.
  
• History:
  Johnny grew up in the town of Darlington, North Carolina. Sort of blink and you miss it place. One small general store, a garage and a bar. The whole town seemed like it was falling apart, being held together by little more than a terminally ill Community spirit and a lot of crooked wooden boards. His father was the proprietor of the garage, the local farmers and their failing machinery was pretty much all that kept the place going now. It hadn't always been that way, the 20s and 30s had been a time of prohibition and the bootleggers. Their souped up cars racing about the Appalachians, running first from the police, and then from the tax man, boots and hidden compartments stuffed with whiskey. These were the stories he grew up on, even as he worked on nothing fancier than an articulated lorry, when he went to sleep at night his dreams were filled with burning rubber, fuel and kicked up dust. Whilst the golden years of unregulated may have passed however, what had started as an illegal custom had now become a sporting religion of its own, and Wilkes County the religious heartland, was just down the road. It was here in the home of Nascar that he spent as much of his free time as possible, him and the other teens racing and souping up their own scrap buckets to race. His dream was always to leave Darlington, to make a name for himself on one of the teams. But it turned out to be only that, a dream and nothing more tangible at the end of the day he was the son of a mechanic with no racing pedigree and no financial backing.
  
  Instead his association with the gang of street racers led him down an all too different path. Whilst his skills alone weren’t enough to achieve his dream, they were enough to get him noticed by other parties, those needing a fast and skilled driver for far more illicit means. For a young Johnny with dreams bigger than the town of Darlington, it was a simple choice to make. It started small, convenience stores and the like. Over the first couple of years he started building his reputation as a solid get away driver, fast on the pedals and gear changes, and above all reliable. His biggest job in Carolina turned out to be his last.
  
  Charlotte State Bank and Trust. Surveillance had revealed a host of security holes and problems from a lack of guards to an alarm system reaching the end of its life. This was combined with the fact that over the course of 2 days they were going to be holding just shy over $500,000 in cash as part of a local business deal. It was a new group he was working with, but they were paying him well, and he’d heard good stuff about some jobs they’d pulled off further afield. It should have been an easy job. By the time he drove the 2 surviving members out of their, devastation was left in their wake. 2 dead robbers, 4 security guards, and by his count another 3 civilians with who knows how many injured. The gang had panicked at the level of resistance and shot their load, with a number of Civilians caught in the crossfire. Johnny had heard the gunfire, and by the time he had pulled back round to the bank it was too late to stop anything. Carolina was too hot after this, no one had pulled a positive ID on him, but he wasn’t taking any chances. With the profit on the job being a big fat zero, he had pulled together what had remained of his winnings and set off north, ending up where all your desperate runaways end up. New York.
  
  For 6 months he worked as a taxi driver, trying to put his past behind him. But with his rent taking most of his pay, and scraping by the rest of it to pay for his taxi medallion, he knew this wasn’t sustainable. Instead a chance meeting with Liam Sullivan in the back of his cab (and the subsequent chase by several Moretti’s) set him up with a new job. A driver for the Irish, whether this be standard chauffeuring or providing wheels on more illicit operations, he is happiest behind the wheel, and the Irish provided a good price for his services, and they themselves provided a far more professional set up than the one that had seen him flee from a trail of blood down South. With Sullivan’s death, he was quickly picked up by the Porters, skilled hands and all that. A consummate professional through and through, he’s willing to do almost anything it takes to repay the second chance of a decent life that the Irish gave him.

  Considering most of the bosses in this business, Giovanni is a relatively easy-going guy. As a businessman, he often gives people the benefit of the doubt and even gives second chances. He has always understood that you always catch more flies with honey than vinegar so he tends to run his business under a pretty lax ship. He's friendly, outgoing, and even a little goofy when he's comfortable around people (mostly his family and close colleagues).   Kerry was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where she spent the first ten years of her life. Kerry's grandparents had always been strict Catholics, so when her mother, Harriet, became pregnant out of wedlock, they were deeply disappointed. Through shame and embarrassment, they tried to hide Harriet's pregnancy for as long as they could. Harriet never told them who the father was after the man had refused to have any involvement with her or their unborn child. Eventually, Harriet's pregnancy became known to the family's friends and fellow Church-goers. The Patricks faced a lot of judgement from their peers and even when Harriet died during childbirth, the gossiping never really ended.
  
  With no knowledge of who Kerry's father was, nor the desire to find out, Lloyd and Colleen raised Kerry themselves. Kerry's childhood was a peaceful and wholesome one. The friends she had in school were the same ones she played with at home and saw in Church every week. She was always encouraged to be kind and honest to others, which came naturally to her, especially as a child. She never realised at the time how unhappy her grandparents were and how they'd never gotten over Harriet's death, nor of the reputation they'd never managed to shake off.
  
  When Kerry was ten, her grandparents decided to leave Belfast to emigrate to Boston in the United States. They had some old friends there and the opportunity to start a fresh life. As always, Kerry took the move well and soon adapted to her new home and friends. However, as she entered her teens and started mixing with friends from different backgrounds, she started to realise how restrictive her grandparents and their religion was. Being told she couldn't date, that she had to wear conservative clothing and couldn't attend parties, she started to resent her Catholic upbringing. It wasn't until she was 17 that she first went on a date and she felt she had to hide him from her grandparents.
  
  Kerry had vowed to move out of her grandparents' home and join her friends in New York as soon as she turned 18. However, when her grandfather's dementia worsened and he was moved into a care home, she couldn't leave her grandmother alone. Not long after her grandfather had moved away, Kerry's grandmother's health deteriorated too and in 1971, the woman died of a hearth attack following a severe case of the flu. With the money her grandmother had left to her in the will and the sale of the house, Kerry decided to finally move to New York City in hopes of reconnecting with some old school friends.
