Fair warning, the background is a little dark. Also, it's a little difficult to see commas with this font, so you may want to zoom in.

PERSONALITY

Most of the time, Egon appears cold and distant, though not in a way that suggests him to be angry at someone. It seems as if something happened to him to make him like this, something that would make a conversation about it uncomfortable at best. That is, if anyone could speak to him. Due to the depressing atmosphere surrounding him and struggles with communication, most simply choose not to engage.

Though sometimes a lighter side will come out of Egon. There are times where he will laugh at frustration, Times where he’ll lend a helping hand, or attempt to make a joke everyone else can understand; Even times where he’ll show genuine excitement. A faint hope flickers inside him, and sometimes, he’ll have just enough motivation to prevent it from fading away.

BACKGROUND

Everybody fights for something. For Egon, that something is order. Order for a dying world.

Egon was born and raised in Stuttgart, Germany. Since he was a young boy, his family would take him and his siblings on trips to castles as well as the neighboring Black Forest. They would also tell him fairy tales of knights and dragons, leading Egon to desire his own career of justice. Eventually, he would decide to join the military after school was over. He would exercise daily through high school in preparation. Of course, being a strong young man in high school, he found his first girlfriend, Evelin, early on and grew to love her dearly. After graduation, before joining the military, he, Evelin, and his immediate family traveled to the United States to visit the extended family in celebration. Egon never learned English, but fortunately for him, his parents did. Unfortunately for him, his life was about to permanently change.

Unsurprisingly, Egon still remembers the day civilization died. Sirens filled the air. People on the television barked orders and pleas in a foreign tongue. Confusion and anxiety gripped him. He remembers running out the door with his family, when he suddenly passed out. To this day, he has no idea what happened to him. He awoke to the sight of two men picking his pockets, before realizing he was still alive and running off. The rest of his family must have figured he was dead and moved on without him, he thought to himself. When he looked around at the surrounding suburbs he was in, he only saw emptiness. Though he appeared to be alone, he knew he had to leave. Those two men might have had company. After wandering for awhile, he discovered a dead forest. Though the average person wouldn’t dare enter, the place had a charm to Egon; It reminded him of home.

He spent the next year and a half living in that forest, desperately wishing for a companion, especially his girlfriend. It seemed there was no hope for him; The conditions he lived in slowly made him more hardened and introverted (though there was nobody to talk to), living day to day off whatever scraps of food he could find in the forest as well as the surrounding area. All the structures he discovered were mostly empty-- no people or supplies in sight. He was lucky to even find scraps to piece together armor. To him, he was the last person on Earth. He would have given up on living had he not encountered something that would change him even further.

A large house on the edge of a town stood before him. A hideous scar was proudly displayed on the front of it; Eight arrows pointing outwards, spray-painted across the front door. Odd, but no matter, he thought. It seemed that nobody was home, which wasn’t surprising, but what was surprising was the fact that it looked like someone had been living in it. After looking around the house, he could hear what sounded like muffled screaming coming from the basement. He was curious, as he had not seen another human being in a year and a half, yet he was also cautious. He drew his faithful machete and stepped down into the depths of the cursed place.

The basement of that house was by far the most depraved thing he had ever seen. People had been tied to walls, beaten to death. Blood stained the walls. A table rested at the side of the room, displaying all sorts of cruel instruments of pain. What stood out most, however, was the table in the center of the room. Evelin laid on the table, naked, bloody, and screaming; Two men and a woman surrounded her, doing awful, unspeakable things to her. It was at this point that Egon snapped. Seething rage consumed him. The three had already stopped what they were doing to look at the intruder. The woman rushed at him with a knife she was just using, and Egon quickly dispatched her with a thrust through her heart. The second of the three, running up alongside the woman, grew a look of shock in an instant, but it was too late; Egon made short work of him. Finally, after a lengthy fight, Egon was able to slay the final Scavenger, leaving him breathing heavily. He noticed that they all had marks on them; The same eight arrows from outside. He would quickly learn to hate that symbol, and all who bore it.

Evelin had fled during the fight. After a brief search, Egon found her in the kitchen of the house. She had stabbed herself in the heart with a kitchen knife, unable to live with the shame she had just received. After what seemed like an eternity melded into a mere few seconds, Egon wept like a newborn, unable to cope with what had happened. He blamed himself, thinking that this could have been prevented had he found the house sooner. Eventually he got to work burying her outside, then setting up a campfire for the night. He slowly took ash from the fire and covered his armor in it; Poetic, he thought. In the night, the fire attracted attention Egon did not expect.

Though he did not know at the time, the group of men and women that approached were members of the Tower organization. At first they were both wary of each other, especially since he was sitting in front of an apparent Scavenger base, and he leveled his machete at them in defense. They tried to communicate with him to no avail, though after what could only be described as a lengthy game of charades, the Tower members eventually realized that Egon slaughtered the Scavengers inside and that he could be a useful asset. They invited him to join them, and as Egon figured he had nothing left to lose, he decided to comply. To this day, Egon works as a soldier in training for the Tower Organization until they can teach him a solid understanding of English, when he will be a fully fledged soldier. He hopes to one day destroy the Scavengers, repair himself, and possibly find out what had happened to the world.

STRENGTHS/FLAWS

1. Athletic- Egon is in excellent physical condition.

2. Unwavering- No matter what, Egon will stay true to his strong morals.

3. Valiant- Fearing nothing, Egon will not run from a fight unless the odds are clearly stacked against him.
1. Language barrier- Though kind members of the Tower Organization help him learn English, it will take Egon a long while to have a good grasp on it.

2. Troubled past- Certain events have crippled Egon emotionally, especially because he can’t vent to anyone about them.

3. Short fuze- When Egon gets angry, it is difficult to calm him down. If sufficiently taunted by enemies, diplomacy will effectively be thrown out the window.
