Personality: He's a quiet boy and externally calm. Though far more paranoid that one might guess. Always assuming the worst. If one pushes to converse with him he maintains friendliness for as long as he can, though if you push his buttons for too long he can become rather red hot. Walt is a bit closed off and isn't good at making friends.
Bio: Walt is the last born to a large family of 6, mostly brothers ahead of him with two sisters. However even though he is the youngest, he is somewhat ignored by his family. Not that they dislike or disown him, it's just that he blends in easily as quiet as he is.
He grew up in a poor town that has little in the way of infrastructure. Making it difficult for the people to survive the days and nights as there are ever present monsters. The town recently emigrated to the walled in city, and they were the last group to move to this city. So more of them know magic than most groups.
Walt was not formally taught any magic, as it is more common for the first born to be thoroughly taught magic [as well as inherent any magic based heirlooms]. Walt has more or less been left behind, and due to the move to the safer city. Being taught now is seen as unneeded.

My addition

Moira is the youngest of a set of triplets. Due to this she is not formally taught magic and will not be inheriting the family staff [which may or may not fall into her hands accidentally]. The royal family only has three children.
Moira has lived in Eeqaofield her whole life, and has never seen a monster.
