I've been thinking a little about the idea of the royal guard of some monarchy encountering a party of dragon hunters while escorting one or more members of the monarchy. Possibly they're even attacked by a dragon, whirling them into some grand quest to destroy some powerful dragon that has been terrorizing villages all over the kingdom
