With the darkspawn at bay after the end of the last Blight, Ferelden has been in reasonable condition. Cities have been rebuilt with time, and the Elves have even been granted their own land. Despite the massacre of so many Ferelden people, the land is seeming to slowly heal itself of it's wounds. However, things are far from completely better. There is still much work to be done. Some lands still lie in devastation, and there are still those who are sick with corruption. Whispers of unrest come from Orzammar, the underground capital city of the Dwarves. Strange sightings have occurred in the Deep Roads, and the Dwarves are starting to question whether the darkspawn are really gone for good. They aren't the only ones. Queen Anora, who rules alone, has no time to investigate. With tensions forming overseas and rebuilding Ferelden being her main task at the moment, she has payed little attention to the matter. Still, the dwarves insist that someone come, if anything to ease the rumors that have been spreading about the underground kingdom.
They have now called upon you, and a few others, to form quite the unlikely party. Whoever you are, you must have quite the reputation to have been chosen. Perhaps they offered you money, perhaps they offered you shelter. Surely they offered you something, for nobody enters the Deep Roads without a reason. Only the Maker knows what true evil lies beneath the frostback mountains, and soon you and your new acquaintances will be the ones to find out. Perhaps the danger waiting for you is much larger than you expect. Whether your journey ends here will be up to you.
