Nexus Placater

Department 7 Director

Here we go... AGAIN... Let's hope it doesn't die right at the start...

It's the year 2147 and the world is a lot better. The World Council, a government formed by most of the world's governments has maintained a sense of peace around the world for over a hundred years. Humanity is more advanced and has just expanded to the edge of the solar system. Created alongside the council, multiple departments were created to help manage certain aspects, with some like the Department of Interplanetary Affairs, being added later. The Department of Counter Terrorism and Civil Security, or Department 7, has been in charge of maintaining the sense of security for the public. It's composition is of many hundreds of field operatives, technical support staff and rapid response units. Besides those, there are the specialists, roughly 20 or so highly trained operatives that have focused entirely some of the most important aspects of counter terrorism.

This will follow Deltorian Tessan, 25 years old, Specialist of Personnel Extraction, Transportation and Protection. Ranked 5th of the Department, this quest will focus around him and his actions in trying to understand and overthrow a plan that may or may not be happening.

Please help this quest survive.

And So... It begins...

In 2043, 98% of the world's governments created the World Council, a government built on top of all the world's governments that focused mostly on trying to unite humanity together while dealing world wide problems at the same time. Surprisingly, it actually worked (which is something of an achievement in itself), and with it, the countries of the world all worked together to help tackle the issues that everybody seemed to have "forgot"... like climate change... and pollution... and actually getting of the Earth so that we didn't have population problems. Humanity finally realised that the world was going to get even worse if they continued to go down that path and (for once) decided pick up their slack and actually make the world that they lived on into a really good place. By 2058, humanity developed atmosphere stabilisers so that they didn't choke themselves on CO2. By 2074, they figured out how to store solar energy, relieving us of a little bit of stress when it comes to power issues. By 2093, the Mars colony offically declared themselves a country (even thought that idea makes almost no sense). In the last 54 years, nothing has really changed all that much, but right now, all the stuff that is being created is military and Council knowledge only.

Now... the Departments. Alongside the Council, multiple departments were created in order to monitor and regulate their respected sectors. Department 7 was put in charge of the world's policing, security and counter terrorism. The forces it had under its command could rival most of the smaller countries of the world. It consisted of a head director, multiple advisors, specialists, field operatives, response units and technical support alongside researchers and scientists. Their involvement has decreased crime and other criminal activities. Sadly, during 2147, what later came to be known as the "Artemis Incident" occurred... and it all started on the 13th of February.

It was the one of the worst days that Del had ever had. Pretty much the entire day had been something out of one of those cheesy president/secret-service/bodyguard films out there... except that there was absolutely no action what-so-ever and the people that Del had been asked (read as ordered) to protect (read as babysit) were giving speeches that were political maneuvers disguised so that it didn't make the public angry. London is also one of the worst places to be in terms of weather. Sadly, Del was stuck there, dealing with rain and clouds while trying to make sure that his cybernetic left arm wasn't getting too wet. It would have really been the worst day ever if, (a) his cybernetic actually broke and (b) he didn't receive his assignment.

"Call sign Escort. A certain assignment has just arrived and it needs to be taken care of immediately. A VIP has arrived in London and is expected to arrive at the headquarters in the city. We require you to locate and transport the target to headquarters. Despite their civilian ranking, they are integral in many investigations and operations that we are conducting as of now and will be important in multiple operations in the future. They will be located at the English Channel mag rail station. Mention the Ace of Spades and they will know who you are. Be discreet and arrive at headquarters by eight tonight. Vigilamus Pro Te (We Stand on Guard for Thee). Zero"

The assignment... almost didn't get completed. With it being six when he got it, he was forced to set off right at the start of rush hour. Traffic and road rules weren't much a problem due to his Department 7 affiliation and the hover-bike that he had gotten as a 20th birthday present from his dad's friends in the Solar military. The big problems were the two AI's (more Annoying Idiots) he had in his head, 4NG3L and D43M0N, along with a massive crowd that were congregating the station. Those two are annoying because both don't stop chatting. One speaks and one types (because his code was made that way). Staring at the entrance to the sleek building through his fingers, Del stood cybernetic left hand covering his face as he sighed heavily, internal pain wafting off of him.

(A) Blend in and start looking for them.

(B) Start yelling and hope they find you.
