Gender: Male

Age: 39

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Height/Weight: 6ft/180lbs

Species: Modern Human

Class: Kinsmen

Armaments:

 • Combat Suite - Model Med BI3:

The Med BI3 is a mechanised exo-suit that's most impressive feature is the mask. Though the rest of the armor is useful, Doc. Charming often goes without or with a lighter fit as it does decrease his maneuverability and speed, something that the man can't go without. However, the helmet piece is used frequently and almost never taken off. Or at least not in front of other people.

Med BI3's helmet piece is used most notably for analysis. It can take x-rays, view heat signatures, magnify the wearer's vision and display things hidden in the darkness with night vision and also filters air.

Imagine this but a much richer blue. Several neon decals litter the armor, but the most noticeable one is on the back and reads: "DOC."

 • Doc. Charming's Merciful Medicines of Mystery:

Doc Charming is a chemist and a biologist with rather... questionable morals. Because of this the man has concocted many a serum in his day, some that have been tested, and some that have not. Doc. Charming's Merciful Medicines of Mystery are his collection of untested serums whose effects are uncertain. The good Doctor has a general sense of what each will do, whether the effects will be good or bad, but the exact outcomes and side effects are left up to the GM.

 • The Nurse:

No good Doctor is ready to operate without their nurse or their tools. In Doc. Charming's case, he comes with both pre installed. Back in the day, the good Doctor was a frequenter in self operation. This included amputating his own arm and replacing with his multi-tool dubbed "Nurse". Nurse is equipped for on the fly operations and has the tools to suture wounds shut, perform injections, cauterise, disinfect and much more for those who are "organically challenged".

 • Administrator:

The Administrator is a simple tool whose function is, as the name implies, to administer. Loaded with a variety of amunitions, the administrator is the only gun Doc Charming carries. Though not incredibly powerful as far as guns go, the Administrator is still a weapon and serves many purposes. For example, the acidic rounds carried are of low enough Ph to deteriorate the armor plating on Qin, and although not particularly life threatening to Qin, it is helpful to those specialized in killing Qin as it makes their target less resistant to damage.

 • Chemical Grenades:

A chemist's greatest tool is his brain. Doc. Charming's brain makes some pretty great tools, including but not limited to his own supply of chemical based weaponry. The Doc. Charming brand of Chemical grenade is incredibly deadly, and the effects of each grenade are incredibly versatile. Because they are not mass produced, the good Doctor usually only carries a few of each kind on him at a time, and reproducing the exact effects is incredibly difficult.

 1. Insignius: A grenade full of acidic gas. Once the pin is released, chuck this grenade immediately, as the gas that spews forth is horrendously flammable and caustic.
 2. Prism: Need a smoke screen? Check. Need a way to blind your enemies? Check. The Prism grenade, when thrown emits a thick, choking smoke which carries small quartz fibers. The grenade shell then begins to flash, the light from this flash being reflected and refracted across these quartz fibers, causing a dazzling light show for anyone outside of the smoke, and a confusing set of blinding sparks for anyone in the smoke screen. On top of that, any exposed eyes may suffer from irritating scratches from the quartz fibers and permanent retinal damage after prolonged exposure.
 3. LAX: The LAX grenade holds within it one of Doc. Charming's most successful inventions yet. The laxative. However, this is not just any laxative. It is gaseous and incredibly potent, designed specifically to cause retching and extreme bowel movement for Qin. Please, for the love of god, wear a gas mask before using this.

Personality:

It's very hard to get a read on Doc. Charming's personality. It's clear the man is not sane, though calling him insane seems a bit unwarranted as well. At times it appears as if he is a ghost, remaining silent for days before uttering even a word, while other times he's quite the chatterbox, even going so far as to have full fledged conversations with his sedated patients.

All in all, Doc. Charming is a man of science, and tends to be rather analytical if nothing else. Emotions be damned, the good Doctor doesn't allow himself to be compromised once in the midst of an operation. However, this doesn't mean that the Doctor never expresses himself, it just means he doesn't let them get in the way of his work. He's one of the best in his field and will not hesitate to explain this to those that doubt his capabilities.

History:

The history of Doc. Charming is long and complicated, full of trivial details and mysterious complications, so let's stick to the important stuff for now. However, before Doc. Charming became who he is today, and to truly understand why he does what he does, it's important to note that the good Doctor was a man like anyone else.

Ludwig McLauster was his name. Single father, trained medical professional and dedicated biochemist. The man was married to his work, no doubt about it, but even as much as Ludwig enjoyed his labors, his daughter was his crowning achievement and was the center of his attention. In a way the girl was his gem, a carbon copy of him and another long passed that symbolized the beauty and duality of life and death.

Maria McLauster was Ludwig's magnum opus, and the small child meant the world to the doctor, for she was all he had. The young girl didn't know it yet, but everything Ludwig did was for her, to ensure that her future would be one of freedom and splendor. There were nights when the man would find himself falling asleep next to his daughter and thinking, despite the looming threat of the Qin, that things would be alright for his girl. And as ridiculous as that sounded, Ludwig believed it. He knew optimism was for fools, especially living in a world with such a grim future, but god be damned this man would take on the whole Qin army if it were to protect Maria. But, as touching as these thoughts were, the world could give less of a fuck about a man and his daughter.

Yes, it seemed the cold hand of fate had bestowed a most treacherous sin upon the innocent child, cursing her with imperfections that amounted to life or death, a soul sapping sickness embedded in her heart. For years Maria was bedridden, stuck in the white sheets of a cold and empty hospice. The only company the girl ever seemed to have was that of her own father and the dust motes drifting through the practically empty hospital rooms.

Maria had been stuck in beds, jabbed with needles and filled with tubes for most of her life, trying by every grace of god to destroy the disease that ate away at her insides, but somehow the sickness persisted. The girl seemed discouraged, and frequently refused to eat, claiming to be a burden to everyone around her. She had met people in the hospitals who were kind to her, but no amount of encouragement from these kindly folk could clear the black fog coalesced around the girl's mind. It was at times like these that Ludwig couldn't decide what hurt him worse, seeing his own daughter sick and dying or her complete apathy and acceptance of death.

Ludwig spent most of his days by Maria's cot but knew he couldn't simply shut himself out from the world, especially if he were to pay the medical bills. He returned to his work, and to his life, but found himself nursing his sadness with liquors and spirits. Often times the doctor would walk into his house at ungodly hours, reeking of the bar he had just attended. Ludwig would often just stand in his door frame until morning came, looking off into nothingness, picturing what life could have been.

The man was a shell, and found it hard to cope with his situation. At times, it almost seemed like none of this was real, and the chaos and madness his life and dissolved into was just some tragedy, written by an author with a lot on their mind. His life no longer felt like his own.

He visited Maria, but started to find it hard to face her. Ludwig didn't want her to see what he had become. Night time would come, and the silent sky would be interrupted by demented screams, emitted by the fowl, sad thing that Ludwig had become, and he couldn't bear to let Maria see him in this wretched state.

In an attempt to make up for his absences, Ludwig adopted a young golden retriever to be a guardian and companion for Maria during her struggles. He found himself too inadequate for his daughter, and felt that she deserved something a little more pure in her life. To this day the good Doctor remembers the smile on the young girl's face when she first laid eye's on the young pup; the slight curve to her lips, lopsided from disuse, and a twinkle in her tired, grey eyes. It had been the first time Ludwig had seen the girl genuinely smile in a long time and the sight was refreshing. Maria had taken one look at the dog and saw that his soft, brown eyes held the spark of intelligence in them while his playful nature was rather... charming. A fit of giggles had erupted from the girl, as she was showered in puppy kisses and lively excitement.

Doctor Charming was the name bestowed upon the dog and he would soon become Maria's best friend and most trusted companion, and in a way he helped carry Maria's burden. It seemed that since the arrival of the young pup Maria's good mood had increased and in not too long, so did her health. Finally eating healthy portions of food, the absolutely scrawny girl finally had the energy to fight back the disease threatening her livelihood, and with the help of modern medicine is seemed she could actually make it.

By Maria's tenth summer, Ludwig finally managed to sober up and was back to his studies and caring for his daughter. Things seemed to be going as well as they could, but even that wasn't enough. Maria's pains still persisted, and the sickness would not back down. Keeping her alive meant that she would be stuck in a machine for the rest of her life, and within a few short years, she would be a mere vegetable, unable to even communicate to her father or Doctor Charming. Ludwig had still managed to maintain hope, devoting all of his free time to trying to find a cure for this sickness, but his optimism did not rub off on his daughter.

She had been thirteen when it happened. The pain was unbearable, the feeling of self loathing growing to be too much. She was a burden, she was worthless. Living a life with tubes in your arms, the only songs you could listen to were morphine alarms and your friends seemed so distant. She had written that it was not anyone else's fault but her own. In the note, it had said that she dreamed of shedding her hospital gown and replacing it with a dress of pure white. She had wanted to dance, it said. She had wanted to dance in heaven with god, and so one night she danced her way up to the hospital roof, and with the pirouetting snowflakes, Maria trotted off the edge.

"I've always wanted to dance papa, so I'm going to the ball in sky. I'll save you a dance, so don't you forget, okay? Bring your dancing shoes so we can waltz across the stars."

***

There was a funeral later that month, but only two attended. Doctor Charming and Ludwig McLauster. The doctor was heartbroken and drunk for the next few weeks. He shut himself out from the world, as sadness ate away at his brain, breaking his mental state and dissolving his own sanity. The dog soon departed, only a year later due to liver failure, leaving the man on his own.

The months passed by in a drunk blaze, leaving Ludwig less and less sane. He doesn't remember how it began, but soon the doctor became obsessed with self modification, replacing limbs and vital organs with machinery. Soon, he would take up the guise of Doc. Charming, as if this sick tribute to his daughter would make up for the sins he would commit.

Doc. Charming no longer considered himself a citizen of the world, and instead did as he pleased. Spending days locked away in his lab, the good Doctor began designing chemical weapons and selling them to terrorist organizations and gangs all over the world. He quickly gained himself a reputation amongst the scum and eventually found himself on top of the terrorist watch list. Though, despite his aiding in some of the worst terrorist attacks in the world, the man did have a heavy conscience. However, everything changed for Doc. Charming when the Qin finally arrived. When they first touched down, it was as if he had finally come to his senses, and to some degree he had his mind back. Immediately the man turned himself in, but offered the name and location of some particularly nasty individuals if they would allow him to be apart of army and fight the Qin. This was agreed to, and soon Doc. Charming was on the battlefield.

Appearance:

Doc. Charming is not seen without his helmet on. Some say it's because he's horribly disfigured and doesn't want to be seen, others say he's just really weird. Whatever the reason, the man does not show his face. Instead he covers himself up in hoods and loose fitting clothes, wearing his mask wherever he goes.

Other:

Everything Doc. Charming does is unorthodox and outdated and yet, despite this, his methods are effective. Don't expect to sit down with this man and have a normal conversation either, as it seems the man is incapable of such things and is socially awkward or unaware.

Charleston Chews are my favourite candy. That be some good shit.
