It was morning of graduation day at the Dauntless Compound, in fact it was the morning of graduation day in all the factions areas, where initiates would find out if they had passed their initiation and would become full members of their chosen faction. Bright and early everyone was told to get up and prepare, to put on their best clothes for the occasion (in Dauntless this consisted of hardy, black and red attire) and to meet in the large Dauntless compound hall near the chasm. It was common for the trainers to take the initiates on a vigorous run, and to get them warmed up for the occasion, to make them look like Dauntless members, in the hopes that they would pass, and so they had done. Phillip and Bloom had taken the initiates on an early jog round the compound, ending it with the jump into the net, where Charlie stood waiting and motioning for the initiates to hop off before the next person landed on them. It was an exciting time, giggles and whispers and high energy floated around the group, it seemed like a wonderful dream come true for most of them. Of course, not everyone was attending today, or rather not attending as they usually would. Maverick had gone MIA again, and Ghost was still unemployed and recovering from his run in with Jeremy Daniels, and was desperately trying to avoid the man. There were whispers that he would attend graduation, but if he got caught then it was possible he would be a dead man. Charlie wouldn't say a word on the matter, even though it was heavily suspected that she was the one caring for him while he was recovering. Led by Phillip and Bloom, the initiates finally made their way to the hall, and it was lit up with bright lights and the sound of the water falling into the chasm, three familiar looking people stood at the top of the staircase looking down at the small pool of initiates, and in front of them was a drop down screen that was soon to show the names of those who had passed. The three people were Jeremy Daniels, Obadiah Parks, and Mr Avalon, the three joint leaders of Dauntless. As the whispers and people calmed down and became quiet, the voices of the three men spoke out.
"You have worked hard to make it to this day! Dauntless is about to welcome its newest members! Let's hear a roar from those who are waiting to welcome their new brothers and sisters!" Yelled Jeremy into a seemingly invisible microphone that boomed within the hall. Immediately a cheer so loud that it deafened the waterfall itself erupted, applause and screams and yelling could be heard by the onlookers, familiar faces, family, friends. The initiates faces beamed with excitement as they heard their names screamed out by loved ones. It took a while for the echo and the screams of cheer to die down but eventually it did, and the next person's voice called out.
"We know this initiation has been strange, but we are excited to show you who will be the next Dauntless members, please look to the screen and look for your name, if it is not on there, then you have failed, and we don't want to see you in here anymore." Obadiah's voice called out, his eyes searching the initiates from all the way up where he was standing. With his hand he reached out, and holding some type of advice he clicked a button and the screen lit up, bright names flickered on like lightbulbs and there was silence for a second before people began to cheer with delight as they found their names. Initiates holding back tears and jumping up and down, family members screaming with delight. There were only one or two names that didn't make the list this year, as the initiate pool had dropped dramatically from the beginning due to so many deaths and failures early on, those who didn't make the whole way through were few and far between, namely Leah and another boy named Nixom, they had dropped off the edge of initiation in the last week or so and unfortunately hadn't been able to recover from those scores. They disappeared into the crowd within seconds.
"We welcome you! There is a banquet of food and alcohol waiting, a DJ to play music and then we will be coming to talk to you intiiates about your new careers! Those of you who have done the best will be offered the best. Now go enjoy yourself and..." Mr Avalon had not even finished his sentence when suddenly there was a noise that broke over the crowd and the chasm. A loud thunderous noise that shook the ground and building, it stopped, and then another took its place, even louder and larger than the last, and this time the shaking was so strong that many people fell over and were struggling to stand. The three leaders looked at each other and quickly began to call people on their phones to figure out what was going on, but they didn't even need to, as suddenly an alarm that had never been heard began screaming through the compound, so loud in fact that it was impossible to speak over it. A red light began blaringly flashing, and then that's when the worst of the thunderous earthquakes happened.

As screams began to erupt and people were trying to figure out what to do, a large chunk of the staircase began to fall into the chasm. Obadiah and Jeremy were able to jump out of the way but Mr Avalon wasn't so lucky, as his body slipped on the surface and followed the broken staircase into the chasm. Then, as people stared with wide opened mouths, the roof of the compound began to crack, large cracks that split open the roof and began to crumble down into the crowd. That's when the chaos started. People were being flattened by falling debris, some collapsing into the chasm as the whole earth began to tilt and shake. It was still so early that the sunlight was not so high in the air as to light such a dark compound up, and the lights were all out except the red flashing warning light. Darkness, earthquakes, falling debris, screaming and running people. Everyone was at a loss for what was happening, but they all knew one thing. They needed to get out. Now.

Charlotte "Charlie" Stark || Dauntless Compound
Escaping || Frightened

Charlotte anxiously awoke to Graduation day far too early in the morning. Her nerves were outrageously through the roof, he body felt like it had already run a marathon, and she felt almost sick to her stomach. This was it, the day that cemented the kids places in Dauntless, or not. She had worked so hard to help them, to keep them alive and well, and yet so many of them had fallen, so many of them had quit, had given up, had died... She held all of them dearly in her heart, feeling the grief of each one as she showered to get ready this morning, poor Bella, Selene and more, who had so much potential but simply got the bad luck of life... She thought of her fellow instructors, of how before initiation there had been Caspian, Maggie and Harper, and now Caspian was dead, Maggie was gone, and Harper had gone off the deep end after Finn had gone missing. Maverick had seemed like the universe gifting them a piece of Caspian, but to no help, as he also had gone MIA and had given up. Even Ghost had been taken away, his job removed for no good reason other than he was connected to Charlie, thus making it her fault. He had never accused it of being her fault, but she felt it, each and every time a day of training went by and Ghost wasn't there. She still saw him, in fact she had to, after he had turned up nearly dead from Jeremy's attack, she had patched him back up and hidden him back at home with her. Of course he didn't stay there, Ghost never did anything reasonable by Charlie's standards, he preferred to live life on the edge, and he would disappear, sometimes just for hours, other times for days, with no contact. Charlie had worked herself into a frenzy once when it was nearing a week, and she knew his wounds needed tending, when he'd returned he'd been high off his kite, his wounds were infected and she'd had to bribe him to stay in bed for her to clean and dress his injuries. There were times when she wondered what she was doing with her life, it was as if Ghost was reverting back into an unruly teenager, and sometimes she had to remind herself that he was, in fact, a teenager. She wasn't even sure where he was today, they had gone to bed together but she had woken up alone, and early too, so he must have snuck off very early in the morning, or right after she had fallen asleep. Charlie turned off the shower, stepping out and into the steamy bathroom she quickly dried herself and got herself ready for today. She wasn't the one who had to run with the initiates, but Dauntless graduations could occasionally be very messy, so she would dress for anything. Today of all days they were meant to wear Dauntless black and red, so she dug through her clothes, finding some black jeggings, black sneakers, a black tank top and her favourite piece of clothing, her black leather jacket with red rose print on it. The jacket that she had been given by Alice. Holding it she took a deep and shakey breath, today marked the 4th year since Alice had been found at the bottom of the pit, thus splitting the best friends from 3 to 2, and now Caspian was gone, so it was just Charlie left by herself.

Charlie let her hair remain down to dry, not wanting to ruin it by putting it up yet, but she made sure to take a black scrunchie with her for when it was dry enough to pull into a pony tail or bun. She spent the half-hour before she needed to leave on the couch, petting Mr Darcy lazily with one hand while she sipped her tea with the other. It was still pitch black outside, but such was her luck, she could never sleep on the best of nights, and whenever Ghost wasn't there she could sleep even less. "I wish you could tell me where he went, if he is okay..." Charlie muttered to Mr Darcy, but then shook her head, more than likely Ghost had gone off to get high before graduation day, this should have been his moment, to present his initiates and get the credit, but no, he had been kicked out of that position and so now Phillip and Bloom would get that honour, which probably felt like a backstabbing to Ghost. Charlie sipped what remained of her tea and gently placed Mr Darcy on the couch, taking her cup to the kitchen and rinsing it out before setting it on the countertop. She did a few stretches in the lounge and then slipped out of the apartment, locking the door behind her. Briskly she walked to the infirmary first, wanting to grab her portable med kit, and the big one too, because today might see injuries, or worse. The kids would have to go for a run and then jump into the net, and then there was the chance that if any failed they would be targeted and hurt by others in the compound, she wanted to prepare herself for anything that might happen. Figuring her med pack was too small, she filled her backpack with the necessary items, and extras also, and then locked up the infirmary and headed out to where she was meant to stand and wait. The walk to the net was deathly quiet, but she knew that up there on the roof the kids were already running, Phillip and Bloom would have gotten up similar to her in the early hours, and would have rounded the kids up like cattle, going on the traditional Dauntless run, almost a final time for any who might fear graduation to run away if they need to, or to feel confident in their abilities and work out their fear through cardio. She stood at the bottom of the jump, unable to see the top, and waited by the edge of the net, on the landing, ready to help anyone who came down. She wondered who would be first, who would be last... She was a bit early, but in the next ten or twenty minutes the initiates began jumping down. Some screamed, some were deathly silent, and others laughed. She helped each one up, smiling at them and trying to encourage them as they all got off the net and waited for their instructors. Soon enough Phillip and Bloom both managed to make their way down and in no time at all the whole lot of them were on their way to the compound hall, the chasm.

The compound hall was playing some funky exciting rock music as they entered, but as soon as the initiates entered the music stopped and a cheer erupted from the crowd, which consisted of Dauntless members, many of whom were family and friends to these initiates. Charlie stayed near the back of the crowd, she wasn't an instructor, she was simply the medic. She watched the speeches of Jeremy and Obadiah, and her eyes scanned the names as soon as they flashed on the screen. Of course they went first for those closest to her, Aubrey, Blair, Chris, Thorn, Briony... Her heart soared for joy as she saw all those names, and she felt a huge amount of relief. She did notice a few missing, and was able to see as those whose names were not there slunk off into the crowd, she hoped that they would be able to escape without anyone catching them. That would be messy. She scanned the crowd as initiates were hugging and screaming in delight, looking for Ghost, or Maverick. She thought maybe she saw Ghost in the crowd, but she couldn't be sure, her vantage point was not very good and there were a lot of people here, Maverick was nowhere to be found. She looked back up as Mr Avalon began speaking, and she sighed as he mentioned alcohol, readying herself for having to help a bunch of new Dauntless members after they got drunk today, but that should have been the least of her worries. Mr Avalon was not even finished his sentence when it all went off. Charlie watched in horror, the scream unable to leave her throat as Mr Avalon fell into the chasm, as the ceiling began to crack and fall, and the ground beneath them began to billow like waves. "Aubrey! Bloom! Where are you!" Charlie tried to scream, but it was completely drowned out by the sound of the siren that had started and was refusing to stop. The red flashing light was not helping at all, and Charlie screamed every time a piece of the ceiling fell beside her. People were running, she was trying, but to no avail, Charlie tripped, and in one fell swoop she was on the floor, hands over her head as people trampled over her, she clamped her eyes shut and curled up into a ball as nobody seemed to notice that there was a person on the floor, probably because there were many people on the floor, some already dead. Charlie would have remained there until she too had been felled by a falling bit of ceiling if it weren't for Bloom. A hand grasped her own and she was pulled up and out of the sea of bodies, if the person had said anything it was lost in the air of sirens and screams, but Charlie didn't need to be told anything, her legs started back up and she ran, grasping the hand as tightly as she could. Unfortunately it was too hard to remain connected to Bloom, sweaty hands, low light and people running like mad men, Bloom and Charlie's hands slipped out and they were both swept up in the sea of people in different directions. Charlie would have stopped to find Bloom, but suddenly there were gunshots, and explosions, and she felt a spray of rock, blood and debris shower over half of her body. Were they being attacked? Charlie gripped her backpack and ran, biting her lip hard and praying in her heart that her family and friends were safe, she ran and ran and ran, deep into the Dauntless compound, but the earth still shook and the ceiling was still cracking, she needed to get out. Finally she found an exit, she could see it was collapsing fast though... She could make it! Charlie screamed in pain as a rock fell from the ceiling, landing sharply on her shoulder and nearly causing her to tumble down. But she continued to run, and was able to make it to the exit, blinking at the sunshine and still being unable to hear over the sirens, she saw a sea of people running out of the compound, and a scary amount of people awaiting them with guns and weaponry. She may have been gunned down if it wasn't for Thorn, his hand reached out and grabbed hers, and she followed him as he led her away from the slaughter. A cry of desperation was quieted from her as she watched people she knew and loved be killed. She couldn't even cry out of the shock in her heart, as she ran with Thorn, hoping he knew what he was doing.

It was getting harder nowadays to hide her secret but thankfully enough she had kept it hidden so far. Since she wanted to graduate and being pregnant was not making that easy. There was also the fact she hadn’t told Chris yet mainly because she knew he would over worry and she didn’t want to stress him. However now the day had arrived it was time for their graduation she couldn’t help but look at him for a moment grinning. Then her eyes met Aubrey's and she mouthed ‘We did it.’ Before her gaze went back to watching the ceremony. Her mind still on everything a sadness filled her about Maverick she had gotten closer with him only for him to disappear once more. It filled her heart with sadness; she wondered if she had just gone underground again back to his fighting ways. A soft sigh left her as more thoughts flooded in then her thoughts were broken as all hell began to break loose. The sound unheard before had cut off her fathers words and she looked worried wondering what was going on. Then an alarm began ringing out all around them. It rattled the brain with how loud it was and Briony was ready for action though fear also coursed through her. A hand instinctively went to her stomach so far only Aubrey and Charlie knew about the pregnancy.

The screams split the air and Briony watched the leaders including her father trying to get away then it felt like slow motion as she watched. As the staircase began to fall into the chasm she saw Obadiah and Jermy make it her heart began hammering in her chest as her father moved. A scream ripped out of her throat as her father slipped and his body plummeted after the staircase into the chasm.”FATHER!!”her scream was echoed by Blair as the twins began racing forward thoughts of saving their father filling them. A hand grabbed Briony’s arm yanking her back she wasn’t sure who it was all she knew was they were pulling her away and she saw Blair being taken away by the crowd of people running. A shaky breath left her before following at first whoever had pulled her back the sights and sounds were disorienting. However she pulled herself together it wasn’t just her anymore she was carrying another life and she would not fail her child. She took off using every instinct, every fiber of willpower to power through jumping, grabbing, and moving as she avoided fallen people, debris, and anything in the way.

When gunshots filled the air she gasped they were being attacked now? What was happening now why was this happening to them after all this work it was insane. She tripped and fell as sudden debris made her stumble from trying to avoid it. She took all the impact on her arms and knees, having thrown her arms out to protect her stomach from hitting the ground. A yelp of pain left her but she forced herself back up gritting her teeth she couldn’t stop now. Her gaze was frantically searching for anyone she recognized as the world around them exploded.

Aubrey Stark || Dauntless Compound
Running || Determined. Scared. Disappointed.

The end of initiation had been strange to Aubrey, like a whirlwind dream where you can't quite remember things and yet you feel completely exhausted. Her body was only just recovering from her near fatal alcohol poisoning, she had spent many days recovering, only exiting the hospital and infirmary when she had to take the tests. At every moment she had one of three people beside her, the first was Thorn of course, he had not moved from her side until she was declared safe by the doctors, he had brought her food and water and clothes, he had helped her out of bed to go to the bathroom and back, he had sat by her bed and held her hand when she was crying uncontrollably, throwing up, delirious and screaming at him. Like a true friend he didn't care about her bad behaviour in this state, he was simply determined to keep her alive and to keep her safe, and hopefully to make her happy, and he did make her happy... She had started to wonder, to look at him in a way she had never looked at him before, with affection, but she couldn't do that to him, and she didn't think she could do that to herself. She didn't deserve Thorn, he was a good person, and she was chaotic, no... Thorn deserved someone like Charlie, or even Briony, not her. Plus, she was a bit infatuated with him mostly because he was here and he was helping her, and less to do with who he was. She loved him as a friend, but she was worried any affection she was growing towards him was simply because of the circumstances, rather than true chemistry. Person number 2 who had been by her side was miss Briony. Aubrey had not been in hospital long when Briony had stormed in, she herself was in a mess of tears and emotions, and Aubrey had struggled to understand her, it was mostly apologies that had spilled out her mouth, as well as her telling Aubrey about what had happened with Chris and Blair. Aubrey had enjoyed this to an extent, she hadn't hated Briony or Chris for ditching her, and now she knew that they had equally gotten a terrible side of the bargain from that stupid night of drinking, whilst Aubrey had been left, robbed, nearly molested, beaten near to death and had suffered extreme alcohol poisoning... They had "accidentally" slept together, and Blair had found them. Aubrey's condition may have been physically much worse and physically more taxing, but she couldn't imagine the emotional torment her best friends were going through each and every day after that. Whether or not Blair had forgiven them, she had begun to ignore them, and it was breaking both Briony and Christian's hearts. It wasn't until weeks later that Briony again was a mess of emotions, and this time with a diagnosis, pregnancy. Aubrey had nearly crapped herself, but had managed to sit up and comfort her friend, it was most certainly Christian's, but Briony didn't know how or when to tell him, so she was keeping it a secret for a while. Being only sixteen she wasn't even sure what she was going to do about it, but there was still time, and Aubrey promised to be there for her, just as Briony was there for her. Person number 3, of course, was Chris himself. Chris always felt responsible for his friends, but he felt even more so for Aubrey. He had come and apologised to her, he had screamed at the doctor to help her faster, he had ordered her the best room and best service available and he was constantly dropping by the hospital to make sure she had everything she needed. He wasn't as open as Briony was, but she knew he was seeking her company to right his wrongs, and that if he could do that with Blair and Briony he would too.

Thus, Aubrey was kept alive by her three friends, once she was let out of hospital she was told to take it easy, to work out slowly and carefully, to have a lot of rest and very importantly not to touch alcohol. This wasn't easy, as withdrawl symptoms plagued her like a sickness, but Thorn, Briony and Chris were determined to never let Aubrey out of their sight, there was always at least one of them there to make sure she wasn't hurting herself, and to make sure she wasn't drinking. She appreciated it, but it was also a giant pain in the butt. Soon enough she got her strength back, but it wasn't like it used to be, she still felt weak, you could still see her ribs and she felt like her skin would never regain the pink life it once held, and instead had this grey tint to it that had never been there before. Her hair was slightly less vibrant, her eyes slightly less blue, and her body achey and sore. The doctors said it would hopefully improve, but it was possible that many of the symptoms she had would be permanent. She thought about this as she dreamed at night, her dreams messy and blurry, like through water film. Today though she was rudely awoken as the lights were flicked on, and the clear voices of Phillip and Bloom erupted the room, telling them to get their asses out of bed, put on their best Dauntless clothes and get ready for the "Pre-Graduation Run". Immediately the room was afire with excitement and nerves, nobody cared about privacy, instead people stripped off and quickly got dressed into the Dauntless black and red attire, whispering to each other giddily about what was going to happen today. It was the day they had all been working for. Aubrey herself was mostly quiet, she was excited, but she was also extremely groggy, as her sleep was no longer restful anymore. She pulled on some tight black track pants, black high top sneakers, a red sports bra and a black sweater over top. She tied her hair back with a red hair tie and followed Phillip and Bloom at a leisurely jog until they got outside, and then the run began. Aubrey tried to stay at the middle of the pack, not wanting to exert herself but not wanting to be left behind, she used to be the best runner here, but after her condition she was struggling to run long distances without pain in her chest. Briony dropped back with her, also struggling to run through the morning sickness and early term pains of pregnancy. The girls were silent, too focused on breathing and running straight than on talking, and still trying to wake up, but their presences together was enough to keep them running steady. It was a good run, and by the end of it everyone looked much more ready for the day ahead of them. Into the net they went, with Charlie at the bottom to help them out. As Aubrey's hand reached up and Charlie pulled her out, she felt a gentle squeeze, as her sister caught eyes with her, one eyebrow gently raised in a question. Are you okay? Was what Aubrey supposed she was asking. Aubrey simply nodded, and gently squeezed back. They hadn't spoken much after all that had happened with Ghost, but Charlie had been fairly attentive with helping her out after the incident with the alcohol, so she was grateful for that.

Aubrey gently panted, standing next to Briony as they watched the leaders of Dauntless announce the names of those who had passed. Both girls held their breath as the screen dropped and they eagerly searched for their names. "Oh my gosh... we made it." Aubrey said in relief, not so surprised about Briony, but very surprised at herself. She'd had phenomenal scores in the first third of initiation, but each new section had gotten worse and worse for her. But she had passed! Her name wasn't at the top, so no special treatment, but she got to stay, in her home faction, with her family and friends. She was just about to hug Briony out of sheer relief when suddenly she was nearly knocked off her feet, and she heard Briony scream out as the sirens began to wail. Her eyes darted up, seeing the cause of Briony's scream, as Mr Avalon fell to his demise into the chasm, and the compound ceiling began to collapse as the ground seemed to rise in response to it. "Bri!" She screamed out, as Briony tried to run towards her father, nearly being crushed by one of the falling pieces of ceiling that was coming that way, not to mention the slippery floor next to the chasm was also getting worse. She grabbed her arm, pulling her back, unable to grab Blair at the same time. "Run!" She screamed, though doubted that Briony could hear her, instead she pulled, but then had to let go, unable to run properly while holding on to Briony. They managed to stay together for some time before Briony fell, and Aubrey was unable to stop and go back, and she had to hope that Briony had gotten up and was safe. Aubrey ran to the exit, but it was clearly not a good exit, as there were already dead people piled outside and the sounds of screaming and gunfire. She then ran to a less known exit, one where many drug addicts used and that one was better. Slipping out that door she ran faster than she had in a long while, ignoring the sharp pains in her chest and the ripping feeling in her muscles, it was as if her body was on fire. She refused to look back, but her heart skipped a beat, wondering if her friends had made it out with her. She turned for a split second, and of course in that moment she ran straight into a wall. Her body stunned and her head reeling she slid to the floor, the world spinning around her as she tried to recover as fast as possible, people around her were suddenly tripled in her vision, and rather than being in focus everything was completely fuzzy. Closing her eyes she let her body fall to the floor as she desperately tried to recover her senses, eventually blinking back the stunning blow to her head and standing up on wobbly feet. It seemed the majority of people were going a different way, so Aubrey used the distraction to leave the way she had left already, to continue going in a way that was different to this war of people that had attacked the compound. She thought she saw glimpses of people she knew, Christian, Briony, Phillip, but in the end she wasn't sure. She hoped they were okay. But she wouldn't be able to help much in her condition, so with tears streaming down her face she ran, hoping God would forgive her for leaving them behind.

Christian Parks || Dauntless Compound
Heading to Dr Munro's || Focused. Sad. Terrified.

Chris had struggled through the end of initiation, what with Blair coming back, the problems he'd had with Briony, and then on top of that Aubrey nearly dying because he and Briony had left her alone and had hooked up... That day left a dirty and soiled taste in his mouth, and had encouraged him to go frequently to Dr Munro's, who was all too happy to help him. Vex took him most days, or every alternate day if it wasn't possible every day, and he spent many hours in treatments, even sleeping there so that the treatments could continue while he was there. He prayed they would help, that this wouldn't end up not working just like all the stupid medications his family had put him on, he wanted to be himself, without the anger, without the issues, without the problems and the pain and the hurt. He just wanted to be able to love his friends and be there for them, without feeling like a ticking bomb that could go off at any moment. He barely registered these treatments, whether they were psychological, or physical, whether done through serums, or through therapy type sessions... He just went, and he submitted to all that Dr Munro had done. He was seeing results already, his mind felt much more stable, but he wasn't missing his emotions, he could still feel love, attraction, joy, excitement, but no longer felt controlled by his anger, or his fear. Now when something angered him he was able to think through it, and when he was excited there was nothing holding him back. So he was glad, and continued going to Dr Munro's advice. Of course it wasn't free, there was a price for all that Christian was getting from the good doctor. He had been tasked to go and scare a few people who were up to no good, that wasn't too hard, he'd turned up and Vex had spoken to them while he had stood there, somehow it was easy for them to quickly stop whatever they were doing. He'd had to protect Dr Munro's lab from some thugs who'd tried to break in, or at least... that's what he could remember. He had also had to encourage some patrons to continue supporting Dr Munro, through... well... Christian was slightly ashamed of his part in that. Dr Munro and Vex had encouraged him to use his position as the son of leadership, or his dashing good looks to encourage these rich women to continue funding the Doctor. Chris had felt a few hands and kisses, but had desperately tried to go no further than that, feeling extremely uncomfortable, but also owing everything he had to Dr Munro so having no choice. It was only a few jobs, and they were always over quickly. Now though, as he woke on graduation day, he felt invigorated. He would pass today, with his friends, and he would be able to live the life he'd always wanted, in his home faction, with his family.

He enjoyed the vigorous run before graduation, it helped to cool his mind and body, whilst heating his muscles and making him feel alive. He kept a good eye on those close to him, Aubrey and Briony were some of his top priorities, as they ran together, heads close and whispers bouncing back and forth. He'd spoken very little to Briony, but they'd had this silent agreement to keep an eye on Aubrey, to make sure she never had another sip of alcohol, and to make sure they kept her alive. They took shifts in keeping an eye on her, and tried not to spend much time together after what had happened between them. They had a respectful separation, because they both knew they'd made the mistake, and had hurt Blair even more than they possibly could have imagined. Christian looked for Blair, but she was avoiding him and Briony, so must have been deep in the middle of the group of initiates, he couldn't blame her, she was probably with Thorn to be honest, he seemed to be one of the only people she was okay with being near. Finally Chris looked for Fable, seeing her red hair he jogged to meet up with her, as she was at the front of the pack, her red hair flowing like fire down her head. They nodded at each other, both with anticipatory and excited smiles on their faces, this was the day they would make it to Dauntless properly. The run felt short, even though it was actually quite long, and they finished by jumping into the net, and after that was when they made their way to the chasm. Chris decided to stick with Fable, he enjoyed her presence more than most, and she didn't hate him. She actually seemed to enjoy being friends with him, and she knew a lot of what was going on with him, and still wasn't deserting him or telling him he was the worst person in the world. Thus he wanted to watch graduation with her right next to him. As they stood there, listening and watching with anxiety rolling over them, Chris set his jaw firmly, his father looking down on him, he wanted to make Obadiah proud, and wondered how proud would he be if he knew all the stuff Chris was doing? Would he understand? Or would he look down on him more? Chris had no time to think on this, as an excited Fable made such an adorable noise that his eyes were drawn to the names on the screen, quickly finding his own, and then Fables. "YES!" He yelled, pumping the air with his fist and squeezing Fable to himself. He quickly looked for his friends, Briony, Blair, Aubrey, and sighed with relief as he found their names.

But it wasn't meant to be sunshine and roses anymore. Chris hadn't even finished reading the list when the world began to topple around him, in one moment Mr Avalon was gone, Briony's scream somehow pierced over the siren, the red flashing lights made Chris feel sick and the roof began to crumble over them. People were screaming and running, and Chris knew he had to as well. He looked for Fable but she was gone already, he looked for others but they were gone too, he must have been frozen in place in the moment, so his legs finally began to work, as he boosted after his comrades towards the doors. He needed to keep an eye on them, to keep them safe. He needed to find his father, his brothers, his sisters, his friends... There were so many people. Something sharp seemed to shoot in his head as he was running, and he almost fell from the sharp feeling, but was able to continue. But now he had another thought. He needed to go to Dr Munro's, if the world was crashing around them, if stuff too much for him was happening, then he needed someone smarter than himself, someone who would know what to do. Dr Munro. Chris suddenly had a boost of energy, and began to run faster, reaching the outside world and the chaos that was out there. Screaming and running, his friends yelling out names and directions, the rising sun almost blinding to the eyes, Chris was broken from his daze as a gunshot pierced his shoulder, and suddenly a burst of pain vibrated through his body. Yelling out in pain he was suddenly as clear as day, and the large male began to run again, not caring that he was running close to the shooters, and he felt another gunshot pierce his back, his side. Stumbling but not falling he continued to run, Dr Munro could fix this, he could. He would be able to save all of his friends and family. Chris ran with all his might, ignoring the pain and blood that was coming out of him, he managed to avoid any further gunshots, and even though his energy was depleting quickly, he was determined to run. He saw glimpses of Vex, and began to run with her, or behind her, hoping she was going in the right direction.
