Fandom Detroit: Become Human Again

Detroit, Michigan. Year 2041. It's been three years since android revolution leader Markus managed to wager for peace between androids and humans. Androids have since gained autonomy, rights, and free will. Few are still sold to people as housekeepers and domestic helpers, and many more can walk freely without command of a human owner.

However, nice things weren't to last. In the recent months, humans that resented the change began to gather, almost like how deviant androids used to before freedom. They spoke in hushed whispers filled with hate, glaring at the androids who got to walk free. Quinn had a little radio in the back of his bar that he listened to, and this news was a little upsetting, to say the least.

Quinn was an AQ700 android who worked as a bartender in the streets of Detroit. He was easygoing and laid back, easy to talk to and capable of adapting to reacting to all sorts of people. This news however, made him a little tense, for one never knew when a rebel human was going to walk through the doors and realise that he wasn't human.

It wasn't really that she was particularly annoyed at the moment, more that it was her face's resting expression. This of course, caused many people to scurry past her as to not piss her off more than she already looked. This only achieved in annoying her more because water from the rain would splash onto her ripped jeans with every passerby.

Her left hand held the clear umbrella tightly so that it wouldn't blow away with a sudden gust of wind. Rain drops dripped of the edge of it and landed onto her spray painted gold combat boots that shimmered even in the clouded light. Her other hand was wrapped around her torso, trying to warm her up. Even if she was wearing a thick zip up black hoodie over another black long sleeve with a marijuana symbol on it, she was still freezing.

All these things of course made her day just peachy as she walked through the rainy streets of Detroit. She walked towards her destination as she watched people scurry around her, letting out a puff of smoke. There were several androids among these passerbyers, their LED lights glowing brightly in the dull day. Droitia could only imagine how many more there was that had removed their LED lights, something that branded them as nonhuman.

This stirred disgust in her gut. They weren't humans, they didn't feel. Why in God's name should they be able to have the same rights as any other human when they are just a machine. Not to mention the owners murdered by Deviants before they became legal. This was crazy, how could people just accept them like this? They were an act against nature. They were a hunk of metal. Their blood is blue for Goodness sake!

Droitia stopped as she reached her destination. A small bar. This bar wasn't different than the others that lined the streets of Detroit, rather some of the workers that worked there was why she was here. She gazed through the window, her eyes landing on a man with black hair who was working at the bar. She took her cigarette out of her mouth and stopped it out, not breaking her stare at the man as she reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone.

She clicked one of the contacts, the phone spurring to life as it dialed. Droitia didn't wait for a hello from the person she was calling. She merely spoke into it, "I've reached the location and have located the target. Continue on route?" "Affirmative." spoke a deep voice after she had spoken. Droitia then hung up her phone and pocketed it. Closing her umbrella she entered the bar, taking a seat at one of the many bar stools of the bar the man with black hair was tending to.

When the old front door of the bar opened, Quinn looked up from polishing shot glasses, greeting whoever with a small smile. He was a little shy, especially around humans, but found them to be rather okay company after a few shots or cans of beer. Placing down the small, engraved glass back under the counter's shelf where he could reach them easily, he approached the newcomer in the bar who sat by the counter.

"Good evening," Quinn greeted, his LED flashing, "what can I get for you tonight?" His voice was soft, smooth like honey. CyberLife had done all they could to ensure androids could integrate into society okay. So far it had worked for the most part, and the only times Quinn was replaced by another was when some drunks got violent.... or when rebel humans walked in.

It was an hard eye contact because for once her face was expressionless. Finally she broke eye contact and glanced at the menu, "I'll have a white Russian." she spoke with a slight edge to her tone that was always present. Some could call it her always annoyance that she used to pick out small details to complain about, but it was really just her voice.

She took in the sights of the bar. There were a few people sitting in seats in the back, they were going to have to be checked before this operation proceeded. She let out a sigh at that, that was going to be an annoyance to deal with later. This whole operation was going to be an annoyance. Why was she the one that had to do this? Why couldn't one of the others do it?

Doritia tapped her fingers angrily on the wood of the bar as she waited for the stupid hunk of metal to bring her her drink. She was glad that the bar was warmer than outside, and drier. Her umbrella was in a stand with others at the door, a cute little decoration that made it seem like this place was almost not a bar. Her gold spray painted combat boots tapped lightly on the wood flooring. The operation would start soon and she was getting impatient.

Where was that damn android anyway, "You're an android right?" Doritia asked the barista out of the blue even if she already knew the answer to the question by the blue LED on his temple, "What's your model?" she gazed at the man with black hair who was fetching her drink. She already knew the answers to these questions, however she was still asking them. Her phone buzzed in her pocket. Five more minuets.

Five more minuets until they made their first stand out against the androids. She took a glance out of the corner of her eyes at the others in the bar who had no idea what was going to happen next. She looked at the android in front of her who had no idea of what was going to happen. She remembered the traumatized face of her friend on that night, he hadn't meant for what happened to happen.

Droitia shrugged it off. What was going to happen in the next five minuets was going to happen. No matter if this android in the bar served her her drink. No matter if the people sitting in the back leave. It was going to happen, life had already set the course for them ahead. She was no longer in control of her future in the next five minuets. And neither was anyone else in this bar.

"White Russian," Quinn repeated to himself. He had a database with thousands of recipes for different drinks and zoned in on the vodka, Kahlua, and cream. It barely took him a minute to have the drink ready and served, placing it on the counter as the woman asked him a question about his model.

"AQ700," He replied. Something felt strange, but he pushed the feeling back down. Until something happened, everything was normal and he was going to act that way.

At least the information they knew about the guy was correct. Imagine if he was actually a AK700, hilarious. Doritia spent the next five minuets drinking her drink. This guy may be non human, but he makes one hell of a White Russian. As she took one final sip from the clear cup her phone buzzed twice. She let out an annoyed sigh. "Sorry to do this bud-not really-But..." She pulled out a pistol and pointed it at the barista. "Don't move you hunk of junk."

Without taking her eyes off of the people in the bar she dialed the number again. They didn't converse this time though, they didn't have to. 10 more people entered the bar now. All wore a mask that had a drawn LED light on it. They all removed guns from their coats. One of them tossed Doritia her mask. "Let's get this over with." She spoke annoyed as she kept her pistol trained on the AQ700, not even fazed by it.

One of the humans with her went to the windows and pulled the blinds over them, turning on the closed sign on the door. They locked the door and stood guard. Another five went over to the people sitting in the back and began to test their heats. They found that two of them were androids. They shot them both in the head the second they found out. The last of the people in the back was a human who began crying and holding the two androids.

The people left them alone and went to the last android who was the barista. It was during the day so there wasn't that many people here, but that was the way they wanted it. Doritia let out a breath before she was about to pull the trigger. Her finger twitched and-

Loud sirens were heard. "FUCK!" One of them yelled. They quickly vaulted over the bar and went into the kitchen and exited out the back door. Doritia knocked the android onto his butt and pointed the gun at his thirum pump. "You got lucky you plastic trash." with that said she took off with the rest and escaped. She knew that stupid android had seen her face, but it's not like she would be outside the sewers anytime soon after this. She didn't like field missions. The group removed their masks as they continued to make their way down the streets of Detroit.

They soon reached an ally with a manhole. They all jumped into it with ease and descended into the sewers.

「android ∙ AQ700 ∙ bartender 」

Had Quinn have an aggressive retaliation system programmed into him, he would most certainly have lunged for the silver haired woman's gun. After all, androids feared no death. But he lacked in anything aggressive, so when she pulled out a gun and pointed it at him he only stared at her, silently asking her why, and if she'd pull the trigger.

"I don't understand what I've done to offend you," He mentioned, eyeing the blue blood leaking across the floor from the androids that had been shot. What a shame he just had the bar cleaned, and now the rebels were in here messing everything up.

As sirens began to blare in the distance, he was swept off his feet and found himself on the floor, the gun pointed right at the center of his chest. She hissed something about him being lucky before escaping through the back, leaving Quinn to pick himself back up.

In his mind, he already knew her. Maybe not her name, but her face bore into his database and labelled her as a rebel, an enemy.

The android was starting to read a book as his master ordered him to buy some chips and vitamin supplements. Edward proceeded to stand and get his coat from the coat rack. It was already late at night but he walked outside the doors of the mansion and went to find a convenience store. As he was exploring, there were loud sirens in the distance and what seems to be a crime scene inside a bar. He just brushed it off and proceeded to enter a convenience store nearby. He went to the snacks aisle and got a pack of potato chips with a free ranch dip attached to it. "How lucky.", he thought as he held it in his hands. He went to find a box of pills and grabbed it. He went to the cashier and released the chips and pills. He wondered what his master was doing currently.
