Name: Lord Reginald Skullface the Third

Personality (not too long, not too short. Vague, I know): A happy go lucky individual who goes with the flow never letting a bad turn get him down.


Background (same here): When he was alive Lord Reginald Skullface the Third was a lord over a considerable area in Aarvok. One dark, and stormy night he was visited by three dirty young, but kind witches. They begged for a place to stay for the night. Lord Reginald took them in bathed them, fed them, and gave the homeless witches a place to live for as long as they needed. He would go on to adopt the young girls, giving them all a family of happiness and sunshine. Years later unbeknownst to them the witches evil step mother, named Debbie the Downer, had finally caught up to them her main goal to make their lives miserable, and cursed Reginald with unending dead. It didn’t quite work like she had hoped because Reginald came back with powerful magic. After hunting down, and brutally murdering her. He returned, and watched his girls grow up. Oh, and he is now a skeleton man.

Cynical, sees the world as a cursed place with very few things/people that she’d consider trustworthy or ‘good’.
★ Likes to backchat anyone she meets and has trouble trusting anyone.
★ Tends to either have a scowl or a very cocky smirk upon her face.
★ Tends to swear a fair bit and will rarely keep it down..
★ Very hesitant when it comes to undertaking a task involving working with others and will often go against them if she sees fit..
★Decent at varying forms of combat (swordsmanship, acrobatic/gymnastic skills and hand to hand combat).
★ Has a penchant for stealing (especially from the rich).
★ HATES being told what to do and will most definitely follow her own choices with no one else involved.
★ Believes desperate times call for desperate measures but will never use underhanded or immoral tactics.
★ Thinks respect must be earned not given or bought.
★ Will treat everyone the same first of all (dismissively), what they say or do determines how she’ll treat them.
Background: Born to a human mother and demon father. Her mother abandoned her not long after Athanasia was born, leaving the infant to an elderly woman who cared for her until her passing when Athanasia was 7 years old. What became of her father is unknown, but it was known throughout the local area that he was a demon. So Athanasia was outcast from society from an early point and only sought to survive.
She turned to other outcast individuals in order to learn from them in the arts of combat, stealth, theft and general communication. From others like herself, she learned the Occult Arts and grasped the concept of power being her biggest asset very quickly. From then she wandered, taking what jobs, items, food and money she could get. She aims to exact justice on those who wronged her but she'll need to find them first...

Vices
- Quiet; Tao has always been on the quiet side. She's an observer and feels that idle prattle is annoying and useless. On the occasion that she does speak, it's most often short and to the point.
- Stubborn; Tao is the sort that when she's set on her ideal of something she doesn't often stay from it. It's hard to get her to listen to reason when she's become dead set.
- Arrogant; Even if she's not the haughty city elf type, that doesn't stop Tao from being quite a brash asshole at times.
- Standoffish; Tao has always preferred being on her own and finds it a bit hard to adjust to working well with others.

Virtues
- Loyal; Once you have Tao on your side, you can trust you'll always have her there. Tao has a inner morality that keeps her from betraying her friends.
- Charming; She may be quiet and a bit reclusive but when she feels the need Tao can melt a person into a puddle with a smile.
- Intelligent; Tao is an exceptionally smart strategist and isn't too shabby in the book smarts department either.
- Brave; Tao is brave almost to the point of recklessness. She's willing to dive headlong into to most dangerous of situations no matter the consequences.

Her father was a blacksmith and raised her as only his helper, though she did not learn much about smithing itself - it was no job for a weak woman like her, he said, but he did not spare her from any other work. He did not treat her like family, blaming her for his wife's untimely death. She was not exposed to much emotional warmth, only ever receiving any in short interactions with shopkeeps when she was sent for groceries.

Near her teens, she had discovered she could manipulate the arcane sort of magic and made learning a pastime to relax from her frustrated father. Though she attempted to hide it well, her father found out her secret and she had then witnessed him at his worst for the first time - it was a story untold that a mage was present at her birthing and that person was the target to the other half of his blame for her mother's death. He could not bear having a mage around and made lead bracelets for her, ones she could not remove without breaking her hands first, and was under his constant watch not to try and remove them any other way - he had learnt that lead prevented a mage completely from channeling mana.

She still lives with her father, who has become more of an abuser than before, but she has no way of getting away, though she keeps looking for opportunities. [/div] [div class="tabsContent personalityTab" style="display: none;"] Cold towards others and speaking little, Vaara likes keeping things to herself and dealing with problems on her own; she was taught to do so through trial and error because whenever she tried getting help from others, it would backfire and her father would find out. Due to a lot more isolation than conversation with other villagers, she is also no good at being social and speaking with people in the way others expect, though she tries when she gets the chance. She is a rather soft person despite her situation, but it does not really show to people not close to her (and she does not have anyone close).

Her determination is still strong, though it wanes at times, especially after her father's outbursts of rage. Nevertheless, she has her goal in mind - getting away from him - and she will achieve it however she can. Such stubborness gives way to strong opinions she gives up only for powerful arguments.

She belongs to no religion, thinking it to be too cult-like for her, too brainwashed, simple-minded, and political. The arcane magic calls to her still, despite the lead on her wrists, and it is also something she intends to pursue no matter what. Once she is rid of her father, she would be free from her chains, too. Her equipment consists of the bracelets she intends to remove and replace with a dagger or two. Nadira
of the Nanglia Nomads


Name: Nadira Nangila
Race: Human, Lowlander
Gender: Female

Personality: Nadira Nanglia favours colloquial constructions in her speech, always using metaphors or some other figures of speech to voice her musings. As expected of a Lowlander, this woman is loyal to her culture, never in one location for long. Now that the Nanglia woman is of age, she holds no ties with any community, country or continent. Neither does she for any mortal being in Igniculus. Owing to her religious belief, her soul belongs to only one: Safah.

Background: She was born into the Nanglia family, a band of seventy or so Lowlander nomads who navigate the desert dunes with camels and caravans. Having no stable settlement to speak of, they make do with the sands underfoot, the cacti scattered here and there, the baobabs by the riverbanks.

While many if not all of Igniculus favour silver, the Nanglia are different, always choosing gold above all else—the currency that most resembles the desert they've known so long. These metals they tend to melt down into jewellery. Alternatively, they're embroidered into their clothing. This explains Nadira's choice of clothing and her love for all things made of this metal.

The Nanglia's culture is one of hedonism, which is why so many of them, including Nadira, part ways with their family once they come of age. Because of this hedonism, the Nanglia dislike ideologies that circumscribe their freedom. Religion or anything pertaining to deities, Old and New, are included in this.

Sometime after she left the Nanglia, however, a vision led Nadira to the desert's outskirts where she came across a manuscript. A manuscript containing Safah's religious teachings of old. Safah is a demon with two faces, one for either representation of the duality of his contradictory character. The left half of his face is the God of Perfume, Lord of the Oil Press, Distiller of Oils. The right, however, is the Red God, Lord of Blood, Great Gutter of the Gods, He Who Dismembers the Damned.
