academy
The Afforum Academy was put into place in the year 2075 after the colonization of South Africa. While other countries made schools similar to it, America’s is the best funded one and the largest, the pride of the States. Graduating from the school with even average marks will get you a officer position or beyond.

Located in Sante Fe, New Mexico near the national forest and the what used to be the impressive city is the Academy itself. It’s impressive thanks to the billions of dollars the country cranked out. Most of the food is grown and maintained by students themselves (in order to get points, a type of good-behavior system adopted) while chicken is bought from elsewhere and beef is something not seen often thanks to a decrease in the population after a disease outbreak in 2064.

Interactive simulations that mimic actual encounters with the enemies have been created to give the kids an edge in the fight and new problems and puzzles are created all the time to keep minds sharp and keep them on their toes.

The Academy raised some eyebrows at the announcement of its construction. Many were confused at the need for children soldiers and some doubted the severity of the Kajin’s invasion, but after the world witnessed the destructive power of the Kajin there soon was little doubt the program was needed.

Children are not sent out on missions until they are 15 and have passed the Proficiency Test that determines if the individual is capable of being sent into the field. No matter what age the child is, if they pass the Proficiency Test they are able to be sent on missions. Skill level determines the difficulty of the missions and those who rise the ranks get more privileges.
Good behavior is rewarded with points that can be cashed out for things like 15 extra minutes in the shower, an extra ration, etc.
Kajin
Kajin stand at around 7 feet tall and have slim bodies with skin similar to a frogs. Their eyes are large and have nose slits like a snake. They have five fingers like humans that are slim without any nails but their feet have a sort of hoof. They don't seem to have any sort of genders.

Despite their rather..gentle appearance they kill ruthlessly and seem to not want to negotiate. Communication with them seems futile since they don't seem to verbally communicate. They possess a massive intellect and have weapons and technology unheard of yet by humans.
Their hierarchy system is still unknown, but there is a hypothesis that the color of their heads has something to do with it. They don't wear armor so their body is clearly seen and the soldiers on the field always have a pink tinge and are much smaller than the ones at their bases who stand a foot taller and have orange and green colors.
The survivors of the invasion of South Africa, or "Aanval van buitestaanders" as some call it, was the discovery of the Kajin's other ability. Many wondered why the majority of survivors were children and a few elderly but after one of the children who had gotten out of their shock started speaking, a translator quickly revealed that there was something else at play. The child described the sensation as "having metal clamped around the skull." A sort of pressure on the brain as if it was being crushed. Some said that their parents or others seemed to freeze as the enemy ships landed, but not out of shock. They soon started falling to the ground and grabbing their heads. Kids were found dead as well but next to their older family members, but the children recovered alive were mostly orphans and stated that they took off as soon as they noticed the ships, The handful of elderly people had some form of brain disease. Some scientists are claiming that children neural connections operate differently, therefore, allowing whatever weapon or ability the Kajin have to not affect them as badly which may match up with why the older people not killed by weapons survived. All the corpses had some kind of fatal injury from a weapon, this mind-crushing thing seemingly only a way to paralyze enemies, not kill. To find any more information on these creatures, a capture of one will open some doors to how to truly defeat the enemy.
extra info on the present world

*Just a reminder this is a dystopian type of roleplay
The year 2070 has brought a lot of technological advancements in weaponry and medicine. Cancer is a thing of the past thanks to Jakell Hugh's discovery of a the rare Jakell plant he came discovered in his expedition in Brazil in 2024. Many other inventions came into place as the years passed. In 2045 there was a worry about overpopulation and America joined the one-child policy but it was later changed to two. I.D chips became the norm that was pushed by celebrities who were paid to promote ad show that it made life easier and safer. In 10 years it went from a luxury to a necessity. Children received the I.D chip upon birth and unregistered people were fined until either they got one or were jailed. Families tried getting past the two children er family law and any extra child without an I.D chip was taken away to never be seen again. After the Afforum Academy was created, children of these extra child households were sent those as well as most capable orphans and those with a history of delinquency as a "last chance." No matter what background the children come from, they aren't allowed to leave the Academy unless on a sanctioned mission or speak to their families until they graduate.
