Dice Defenders of Beryllion (Lore)

TheCrimsonPhoenix

Crimson Flames
Lore- There once was a Mage, who sought power and fame, talented at casting fire, explosions, and heat using nothing but magic. He was short tempered and driven by rage. Another Mage, who sought wisdom and knowledge, skilled at creating ice, snow, and hail using only magic. She was cold and demanding, but otherwise graceful.
The Queen of Beryllion, Beryl II, exiled the two mages for their misuse of their abilities. In their exile, the two mages created their own kingdom, one half with immense heat so hot, you may burn up from the air, and the other so cold with an unending blizzard, your body will freeze up in seconds. The two mages then created a palace levitating above their land, creating powerful beasts and monsters and letting them roam around freely across Beryllion. Decades later, this legend was passed down as, "The Legend of the Fire Sorcerer and Ice Sorceress". Monster sightings are numerous, so many, they're practically everywhere. The King of Beryllion sees this as a potential threat to the kingdom, and orders a small band of daring heroes to defeat the Sorcerer and Sorceress. If they succeed, their reward will be plentiful and luxurious. They will live the rest of their lives in fame and their names will go down in history. However, if they fail... The Sorcerer and Sorceress will have dominion over Beryllion for all of eternity. It all depends on the choices our heroes make. This is the story... of the Defenders of Beryllion.

Classes-
Swordsman/Swordswoman: Skilled in hand-eye coordination, these masters of blades boast balanced stats all around.
Mage: Magic users who excel at using their magic ability to level the playing field.
Thief: Reputation is poor while Speed and agility is high. Knives and daggers are the preferred weapon of this class.
Archer: The highest accuracy of all classes and almost never misses an attack. What's an archer without a bow and arrow at least?
Cleric: Use blessings to cripple your opponent and heal allies. Though you may not be best for fighting, you should still use a staff.
Shield: A shied wielder with high defense and attack. Obviously, you'll need a shield and maybe an extra weapon if you want.

Win conditions- All active heroes reach the Fire and Ice Palace. At least one hero must survive and defeat the Fire Sorcerer and Ice Sorceress to complete the quest.
Defeat conditions- All heroes are defeated. All players must vote weither they want to continue the story randomly or retry the battle.

Rules-
-No cheating of course.
-You may create your own character and choose any class.
-I decide the events. If you want something to happen, tell me via OOC and I may do add it.
-You may make your character say or react to anything, just keep it clean and reasonable.
-Most importantly, have fun and treat your allies how you want them treat you.
-Rules can be changed at anytime, but I will let you know if I ever do decide to change the rules. Other than that, Have fun!

Most RPGs use an HP and MP system, but Defenders of Beryllion is no ordinary RPG. Instead, it all depends on how high the Dice number is. The higher it is, the more powerful it is. MP uses the same system, the higher the number, the stronger it will be too. Attacks will be rolled with a 10 Sided Die. Depending on Who is attacking, Their Status, and what ability they use may alter their attack power, Positively or Negatively.

1: Critical miss/Inflict self damage
2: Miss/No affect
3: Graze (Half Damage)
4-8: Average Damage/Effect
9: Critical Hit
10: Lethal Damage/Instant Kill

Statuses (Negative)
  • -Paralysis/Stun: Can be caused by Electrical Attacks or Critical Hits. Delays actions of the Target.
  • -Disoriented: Can be Caused by Critical hits. Makes the Target Disoriented and lowers their Accuracy.
  • -Burned: Can be Caused by Fire attacks. Adds +1 to the inflictor's next attacks. Heals over time.
  • -Frozen: Can be Caused by Ice attacks. The stronger the attack, the better the effect. It may slow or temporarily immobilize the Target.
  • -Poisoned: Can be caused by Venomous attacks. Severely lowers all of the Target's stats. Lingers after battle and needs to be treated to return stats to normal.
  • -Unconscious: Caused by taking too much consecutive or lethal damage. If your character falls unconscious, they'll need to be revived and healed before fighting again.

Statuses (Positive)
  • -Strengthened: Makes your character Stronger. Adds +1 to 5 to the next attacks.
  • -Heal: Undoes the damage caused by enemies. Cures Status ailments like Poison or Burns.
  • -Resilience/Defended: Makes your character take less or no damage when attacked. Can be used on command if your character has a shield.
  • -Acceleration: Increases your character's speed, making them attack sooner and frequently.
  • -Perceptive: Increases your character's Accuracy, making them land hits more easily.
Again, It all depends on the number the dice rolled, Who is attacking, The Status, and the Ability used.
