History:

Growing up Daselia wanted one thing more than anything else. Answers. Knowledge. To understand more than just the 'how', but also the 'why'. She heard the fairy tales about ancient peoples and lands beyond imagination. Of artifacts and unspoken languages. But more than anything, she wanted to grow up to be an artifact hunter like her mother. That's why she trained under Marel's tutelage almost every day and night, Marel being her mother. She knew that the world was a harsh place, where strength was determined by the person who was last standing on the battlefield.

And then came the time when Daselia was to go to war. Some thought that the girl looked too fragile for real combat, but armed with nothing but a crude sword and a determined smile, she was the only one of her squad to return. This, the first time she had seen battle, was surely bloody. She was covered in the evidence of such, but she never lost her stoic grin. She had detailed accounts of each death in her squad. She was questioned thoroughly, and even examined. Her body bore no scars, not even a scratch. It was determined that she was still fit for combat, and her evidence was sufficient that she was not tried for treason. Then came her second battle. She returned again from combat, alone and with evidence of enemy kills in tow. She once more provided details of each death, both ally and enemy, to her commanding officers. This time they were more reluctant to accept the evidence. She was thoroughly investigated again, but there simply wasn't enough evidence against her to prove that she'd done wrong.

There was no third battle. The third time she was sent out, she was sent out with a group of soldiers who were ordered in secret to study her, and should she prove to be in any way dangerous, to forcibly capture or eliminate her. Those soldiers, too, never returned. But this time, neither did Daselia. She was intelligent and insightful, and the place where she was sent to with this last group was close enough to the border of a neighboring land that, rather than return home, she left her country for good. At this point, Daselia became a deserter, wanted for high treason by Suna officials, and exiled from her home lands. This suited her just fine.

Now she wanders aimlessly, seeking to uncover secrets both ancient and new. Her motives are unclear at best, and the gap in her history between then and now is largely undocumented.

Powers/Abilities:

Daselia is able to control the flow of water that her skin is in direct contact with. She's had time to practice and master this ability such that the number of different 'skills' she has with it would be difficult to list out in a bullet format. Instead I'll use more general terms for what she can do.

Ice- Daselia is able to pressurize water under her control into ice. The amount she can make is proportionally smaller than the amount of water she has on hand.

Extension- Daselia doesn't just cause water to move because she thinks it. Water that Daselia is touching is in fact becoming an extension of her physical self. There are several effects stemming from this. She is acutely aware of the water, what it's touching, and its position relative to her. It can have its connection severed from her, which might cause temporary confusion and even physical pain. It limits her ability to reach and manipulate bodies of water that aren't in contact with her, but allows her to make contact with bodies of water by extending water from herself to a target.

Control- Water in contact with Daselia, as stated earlier, becomes like a part of her. She is able to control it as though it were a natural part of her body, to the point of armoring herself with it, striking out with it, or manipulating her body with it. This third ability stems from the fact that the body is primarily water, and focusing this power inwards allows for a sort of self-enhancement.

Weaknesses:

Dry locations, fire, dehydration. Daselia, as a water elemental, does not handle heat well. It can boil away her water, and force her into bad situations in which she lacks access to enough liquid to fuel her abilities. Her ice is much harder to melt, because it is created from pressure rather than cold, bringing its melting point to over three times water's normal boiling point.

She has three primary abilities tied to her water, and she can only use one of them at a time. Coating herself in liquid armor makes her particularly resistant to attacks, but requires a lot of focus to maintain. Forming ice allows her to throw up a sharp offense, but the force required is straining. Controlling liquid at range or inside her body has tactical advantages, but requires fine motor movement that prevents her from making use of the other two powers.
