September 1st, the first day of school. All the new, or even some old students have already arrived at DFA, luggage in hand; ready to start their magical learning adventure. The headmistress sits in her chambers; awaiting the arrival of all the teachers so the orientation assembly can begin, to deter the students from their idle and excited chatter while they rejoice out in the courtyard. They mindlessly drone on about mindless teenage things, something the headmistress drones out from her own life; thanks to her three daughters. Calypso, Circe, and Celeste. Her darling daughters. How they make her proud is beyond compare, and above them; this school is her pride as well. The headmistress welcomes a new year of study, knowledge, and some mystery; to keep things fresh.

This year however, there is a new influx of surprising and special students, one of whom is her young son; Cain. She had begged Azazel not to bring him here, to keep him away from her tainted magic; but the angel did not listen. She could have fired him! But they were in love, and rightfully so; because however focused she was; family always crossed her mind. That was why she continued at the academy; to watch her daughters grow into powerful witches like herself. It was only a matter of time before they surpassed her; which made the smile on her face bittersweet. Morgana wiped a tear from her eye before she rang the school bell; an enchanted bell that whenever it rang, it echoed throughout every part on the campus. She kept it on her desk; as it was priceless and was the only way to keep the schedule on track. The headmistress left the bell as well as her chambers and essentially floated down the hallway and to the auditorium, where the teachers had finished setting up and were awaiting her presence to start the assembly.

Hades had left the library as soon as the bell rung, making sure he got into the auditorium when the teachers were still setting up. They just finished as soon as he snuck behind one of the curtains and hid, awaiting his master. The two of them had something planned for today, something devious that would rock the world of everyone at this wretched school, including the headmistress herself. As a grand witch, she always held herself above the rest, making sure the students knew where they belonged; under her feet. Hades growled as this, damning her and her whole family for shunning out a large demographic of students just because they were not as strong or magical. Why create and lead this school if you were going to be such a bitch?

The evil one shook his head and grinned as the curtain drifted open just to reveal a certain demon child and his elven toy. "Zain...." He whispered to himself. "You'll be mine, demon boy." Hades gave a chuckle and headed back into the shadows to wait, trying to avoid the gaze of all the other students flooding in.

"Son!" Professor Seraph bellowed, knocking Cain from his sleep. The young boy lifted his head and his drowsy eyes fluttered open. "Yeah dad?" He wiped drool from his chin and stood at attention. "Son, we need to go help set up for orientation. You can sit and wait in the front row. Is that understood?" The angel asked, adjusting his necktie. He couldn't look terrible in the eyes of Morgana, but he chose to look the best for his beloved. "Let's go!" Seraph beckoned again, walking out the door with Cain at his heels.

When he entered the auditorium, Cain gave a little gasp. It was spacious, decorated with golds and deep reds, and even some purples and blues. It looked magnificent! Though not as good as his home, where the half angel wished he was right now. His father sat him down in the front row, facing the headmistress, who looked stern and calculating, until she made a funny face at Cain. Cain raised an eyebrow but returned it, giving her a brief laugh before she returned to her stoic nature. Almost a few minutes later, the room began to fill with students of all races and worlds, which made Cain slightly uncomfortable.

Daymeon

As soon as he heard the bell Daymeon had shifted into his fox form to run ahead and grab good seats, snapping at anyone who tried to take the one next to him. It was reserved for his best friend. He was excited for the new year to finally be beginning. He had missed many of his classmates and was looking forward to meeting more. Many of the new first years looked promising and he even recognized a few of the second years. His tail wagged excitedly as he hopped up and perched himself on a chair. He couldn't help himself, he loved this place. Now he just had to pray him and Alex got into the same theatre class, then life would be perfect. He was even considering joining the theatre club this year instead of just hanging out whenever he wasn't practicing for dance, the downside of course being he wouldn't have as much time to practise for the dance team. Quite the dilemma it was.

Malvagio

Malvagio followed the stream of students inside, suddenly anxiety was bubbling up . This was it, it was real, he was actually going to school here. He stopped at the door and took a deep breathe before turning to Maylee. "Wait out here for me okay?" She whined and pushed her head against his leg. Malvi chuckled, "I'll be fine it's just orientation. I'll be back as soon as it's over okay?" He scratched behind her ears."I'm gonna be fine." At this point he was more saying it for his own benefit. He could feel his magic starting to reach out and closed his eyes taking slow deep breathes as Maylee leaned against him. This can't happen now, not first day.
After a few deep breathes he managed to calm down enough to get control over his powers again. "Maybe you should come with me." He chuckled weakly. "I mean as a sort of therapy dog right?" Maylee gave a happy bark and nudged him to get moving.

After Yvette and Zain had awoken and gotten ready, the two had funneled into the auditorium behind a large group of vampires and pixies, which were not Yvette's favourites. But hey! There were good seats in the second row, behind a little blonde boy. Yvette, being the quick one, had dragged Zain over there and they sat down before they were taken. It's not that the orientation was fun, it was just that it was always informing and Yvette could always see her mom up with the professors. Being the academy nurse's daughter was not all fun and games, she was respected as well as her mother; and the half elf took that in stride. Her mother made her proud, unlike her father who shunned them.

Yvette shook her head clean of the thoughts of her father and his betrayal and then glanced over to Zain. "I love you.." She whispered, giving his hand a quick squeeze.

Alexander The vampire chuckled from the enthusiasm Daymeon showed, having to jog to keep up with the rambunctious little fox. He was pleased that his friend had reserved him a seat, and he happily sat down, rubbing the boy's ears, "Thank you, as always~" He purred, his attention going to the stage in front of them. He could see the different professors and other authoritative figures waiting for all the students to file in and sit down. It was interesting. The new year definitely would be something interesting, at least, he hoped. Though with his fox by his side and theatre to look forward to, he was finding it hard to believe it would be anything but entertaining.

Zain Zain leaned back in his seat, glancing around to see if he could spot his brother through the chaos of students coming in and sitting down all around them. He felt a little bad, just leaving him the day before. But. He looked a little caught up in the grand witch and her twin anyways. He let out a soft sigh when he finally spotted the white hair with subtle rose streaks in his hair through the crowd. And when Yvette squeezed his hand he smiled softly, giving her a soft squeeze back and murmured, "I love you too." Though, like everything he said, it wasn't very loud and could almost be lost in the chatter all around them.

Anya The fairy blinked when she heard the bells, looking up and giving a soft groan. She looked down at her books then shrugged. Guess she was taking these with her. She tilted her head towards the strange creature, a smile on her face, "Coming?" She asked as she started to make her way towards the auditorium. Hopefully it didn't last too long. She really wanted to get the books to her room before anyone had the chance to damage them..

Feyra Someway, somehow, the grand witch got separated from her twin. Which, she didn't mind, per say. She knew that she was safe with the flower boy, whatever his name had been. And she had looked to be calming down a little. And Feyra wasn't one to be antisocial. In fact, she was quite the opposite. Though she wished she could have changed into something a little more... daring... Considering she still looked like a housewife in the 50s with her black knee length, puffy skirt, with her tight, colorful shirt tucked into the high waist band. But, meh. It could work. She looked around, trying to find a seat with squinted eyes... Then she shrugged and plopped down into a seat next to a red head fairy with a bunch of books in her lap and an interesting girl with tentacles in her hair. What a statement! She could respect that.

Uerendi followed the stream of students into the auditorium. He was glowing and bouncing off the walls, quite literally, with gravity defying skips as he went. He we was excited to get this school year underway and make some new friends. Reaching the open room of the auditorium, he levitated over the students' heads and found a seat in the very front, that was reserved for him. Gliding into the seat lightly, Uerendi made a conscious effort to dim his glow. It wouldn't be nice if he accidentally blinded anyone, especially the vampires in the room.

Kynthia had been running along behind the main group, trying to keep up. It was harder with her legs wanting to give out from all the running around she did outside, chasing a squirrel. (She wanted a friend!... It did not...) Now she was exhausted and wanted to sit down immediately. She had made it to the doors when a panicked girl/boy caught her eye. Kynthia couldn't tell which it was, but she noticed the dog right away. "Miss?" She called, looking very excited. "Can I pet?" Without waiting, the little vampire knelt down and held out a hand to let the dog smell her hand. She probably smelled very scary and supernatural, but so did everything in the area. "Can we sit with the dog? I got seats up front!" Somehow animals made her much more open than she normally would be.

As soon as Alex arrived he hopped off the seat and transform back into his mostly human form. He carefully sat back down, curling his tail around himself. He didn't need any first year messing it up."My pleasure." he purred in response. His tail flicked slightly, though it was because he was content. "Do you think there will be anything exciting planned for this year?" His eyes seemed to sparkle with intrigue as he looked to the the front of the room, glancing at the various teachers before finally landing on the headmistress. He was determined to make it a fun year even if there wasn't anything announced.
Malvagio + Maylee

Maylee warily sniffed at her hand, carefully putting herself between Malvi and the new girl. He wasn't certain of her but she didn't seem to have any dark intentions. It took Malvi a moment to realize the girl had been talking to him. He really wasn't certain how to react to being confused for a girl. "Um, sure? I mean if she lets you." His voice was very clearly masculine, so he was just going to let her decide to skip pass the pronoun error or not.

Lolovivi
Lolovivi had Already been waiting in the auditorium. With her old friends gone and graduated and no sight of her friends in her year and slightly below, Lolovivi had offered to help the teachers with set up. When the bell rang, she took a seat on the few blankets and pillows up front designated for herself and other creatures that did not fit in the chairs made for bipedals. There she sat eagerly waiting for the opening announcements. With her arms resting in her sweatshirt pocket she though to herself, A new year, a new start.
Kachina
Kachina entered the auditorium cautiously, gripping the satchel that contained her my precious belonging. She took note of the crowds filing in and made the decision to wait them out in the back of the auditorium. Normally she'd be bouncing from person to person with the hope of learning new things and making new friends. However in all her seventeen years of being corporeal, she had never interacted wit her more then the Genasi council. Besides, she thought, this was just the opening assembly and she was bound to make better relations throughout the years. So for now, Kachina would wait near the shadows. Yet after a little while, even with the Magic canceling bracers on, she realized she wasn't the only one hiding.

Adam Forrester
Adam woke up in his bed, groaning, then he realised something.

It was his first day of school.

With a massive grin spreading across his face, Adam jumped out of bed, and quickly set about getting dressed. This consisted of putting on his face paint and putting on a pair of shorts, and once that was done, he bounded downstairs, heading for the hall.

Today was going to be an awesome day.

Kynthia jerked back at the sound of Malvagio's voice, looking genuinely startled. She couldn't seem to figure out what was going on, but began to pet Maylee. Her strokes were gentle, not applying too much pressure. She giggled at the animal, growing very excited. "Y-You wanna sit with me?" She asked rapidly, almost not pausing between words. Speaking made her seem very nervous, and she tensed up before making a run for her seat. If he followed, great! But she probably scared him off. She'd claimed two seats by putting lots of acorns on it, but now there was a glowing dude next to her favorite spot.

She stared at him for several moments, looking annoyed and puzzled as she struggled to decide what to do. He was glowing, which normally wasn't good for her (She doubted being a glow stick was healthy for anyone), but he was next to her favorite seat. Her clothes consisted of a dark green dress that she seemed to have made herself (As the stitching wasn't fully lined up), and a black mangled scarf that she now put over her eyes and stumbled over to her seat. With her eyes covered, she had to pat lots of things to find her way, and she first thing she pat... Was Uerendi's lap. Kyni pulled back right away, making a small sound of terror before going to feel next to him where her acorns were. She scooped them up and put them in her pockets, pulling her knees up onto the chair with her. Sitting next to glowing dude no longer seemed like a good idea.

Adam Forrester
Adam, racing through the halls, was feeling pumped. This was it. His first day of school.

And it would be awesome! No doubt about that! He couldn't wait to meet any new friends!

And then he saw how many there were.

Well. It was more than he had expected. But he just grinned as he stood there in the doorway, and began to confidently stride in.

Cthylla
Cthylla sat alone, by herself. Well, there were the various people around her, but she just enjoyed the peace and quiet she currently had.

She was sitting near Kynthia, just behind her, on her right, and was reading a book on Egyptian history. It was pretty good.

Uerendi was sitting in his chair, minding his own business, when he felt the surprising sensation of someone patting his lap. While this was nowhere near the worst he'd had to endure from a stranger since leaving his comet behind, it was an unwelcome feeling. His head snapped around towards the culprit as a small fireball sparked up between his fingers, unconsciously. He calmed down as he saw a small girl, blinded by her own scarf, in a dark green dress scramble into the chair that had previously belonged to a pile of acorns, beside him. He noticed how she drew her legs up onto the chair, and looked for all the world like she wanted teleport to the far end of the room. The fireball in his hand winked out as the slightly worried expression on Uerendi's face was replaced with a sympathetic smirk; he knew exactly how she felt. "As long as it was an accident, we can forget that it ever happened." He whispered to the girl quietly.

Kynthia slowly pulled the scarf slightly off her eyes to look at the glowy man nervously. It was really rather hard to do that, and she winced at the brightness. Is he god? She wondered. Every book she read (And chewed on) said that god glowed. "Umhuh?" Was the only real response Uerendi got. She stared at him with a very puzzled expression before putting the scarf back on her eyes to try and hide. Do something! Her mind yelled at her, so Kynthia panicked and shoved and acorn at him. "Y-You have that..." She squeaked, the visible part of her face showing terror and humiliation. This was not how she thought the first day would go. She blamed the glowing boy, now very tempted to bite him, maybe he'd be good food. She might even be older than him, but Kynthia didn't really think of herself as anything but the age she'd been when turned, so that was out. (Not to mention his real age).
Prrrgadilly Prrrgadilly

Uerendi chuckled as the girl squinted at him before hiding behind her scarf and shoving an acorn his way. The acorn flew past his shoulder before looping back around and revolving around his neck in an elliptical orbit. Noting how she squinted at him, Uerendi made another conscious effort to dim his glow further. He always had such trouble remembering what level of glow was too bright for others to handle since his own light didn't blind him. Cutting his brightness by nearly 50%, Uerendi plucked the acorn out of the air and held it aloft, between his thumb and index finger. "Thank you for the... gift."
