I would have to say SDR2 is my favorite game due to it having more characters that I like from it. And my top three favorite characters are Teruteru, Hifumi and Ryoma

I see. Second game is perhaps my favorite too, it has a good story and better mechanics than the first one. Don't get me even started about V3... My favorite characters are Maki, Gonta and Kyoko.

Noice! I'm a lover of underrated characters and my series I'm making are gonna revolve on one of those said underrated characters: Teruteru's mom (aka Mamamura)!

I can see why they feel underrated. Ryoma was a cool dude, I really liked him. The other two would have been, for me, easier to like if they wouldn't have been potrayed as so creepy. Though I'm not a big fan of frisky stuff anyway, that's just me. Sakura is also one favorite of mine.

I'm seeing a bit of a trend here...

I loooove danganronpa. I have trash taste so my faves are Komaeda and Kokichi for the guys, and Mikan and Miu for the girls.
After the stunt with V3 though, I'm not exactly hopeful that there will be another game.

If I have understood right, another game will probably come, but the person who wrote the first three games will not be a part in it. Good thing in my opinion. I don't know why they butchered the V3 like that but I have rarely been as angry as I was when I finished it. But, this information came from an ex gf who was a hard core fan, so there may be misinformation in that.

To be honest, I get where you're coming from. I was so shocked after finishing v3, but I agree with some others when they say that Kodaka's intent wasn't to insult danganronpa fans. The ending and the writing is very danganronpa-esque and I don't know if any other video game franchise could have pulled it off as well. And I'd discuss it more, but I don't want to spoil too much for people who haven't played it. Plus the folks on the danganronpa reddit have done a better job at explaining/debating the ending than I ever could.

I think the new game is a sequel to ultra despair girls. Spike chunsoft was advertising a position for 3D modeling, if i remember correctly. Good news for those who liked that game!

tbh I was ok with the V3 ending. But that's just me

I love SDr2 because it had the best setup out of all the games for it's ending and characters. My favourite characters are Komaeda Nagito and Kamakura Izuru!

I like the series, but I don't think it's the best thing in the world or anything like that, since it does have flaws. I like the investigation/murder mystery part, mixed in with typical school life things, and that you have opportunities to interact with different characters. I'm not big on some trial minigames but honestly, all-in-all they're fun aside from sDR2's hangman's gambit. It's unfortunate that the stories are all linear, but I guess that would be asking for too much.

I'll list my personal general "best-to-worst"s in that order, if anyone's curious about specifics I could elaborate, just ask. Not going to count anything other than the 3 main games.

Ambience : sDR2, DRv3, DR1
Cast : DRv3, sDR2, DR1
Cases : sDR2, DRv3, DR1
Story(includes endings): DR1, sDR2, DRv3
Music : DRv3, sDR2, DR1

Now being more specific, not necessarily in order but I'll try.

Favorite characters: Nagito, Maki, Korekiyo, Peko
Least favorite characters: Yasuhiro, Aoi, Hiyoko, Teruteru, Akane, Kaito, Himiko, Angie
Favorite cases: 5th-sDR2, 1st-sDR2, 2nd-sDR2, 2nd-DRv3, 5th-DRv3*
*-> Liked the mystery only, not the trial and conclusion
Least favorite cases (not counting the first from DR1 for obvious reasons, nor any of the last ones): 3rd-DR1, 4th-sDR2, 1st-DRv3*, 3rd-DRv3**
*-> I liked the mystery, but really disliked how they hid stuff from the player

I've been playing the danganronpers for a hot minute. I'd say that I'm pretty far into V2. As much as I enjoyed the 1st game well enough, I feel like I just finished a chapter that made V2 just a big hot mess.

Spoiler: Like really...

How much do you REALLY need to invest in describing the layout of a building? It felt like reading a high schooler's essay trying to reach the word count.

I hope I enjoy V3 more than V2. I have Ultra Despair Girls but haven't played it yet. I hear that it suuuuure is fan service~y which, if done cringey, can really drive me away haha.

My boyfriend and I played through all three games, and watched the anime. We haven't gotten to Ultra Despair Girls yet though. My favorite character is Kyoko Kirigiri. I like the detective types. xD
