In an apocalyptic world, some people when they are bitten by a zombie, they instead turn into Vampire like creatures with human reasoning. instead of eating humans like their zombie counterparts, they live off of the rotted congealed flesh of the zombies. they protect humans with their lives.

Zoey woke up in a ditch on the side of the deserted highway. She was covered in blood and her long silvery brown hair was stuck to her forehead.

When she sat up she saw the torn apart bodies of zombies she had killed recently. The fresh blood of a human who had been torn to peaces could still be smelled. The smell reminded her of the day that her family was killed by a horde of the beasts.

The sound of the doors clashing together echoed loudly as her hard steel toed boot hit against the wood. She grunted, kicking the doors again, the doors finally giving way. Within an instant her gun was up, aiming into the darkness of the room, watching it suspiciously. Another dead town with no damn food. The food had been all but dried up from the dead. Most of it had gone bad, and that which hadn't was taken long before she could get there. She stepped into the dark room, looking around, hearing only silence. She stepped into the next room, hearing the sudden scorn of a Zombie, her body being suddenly thrown against the wall. She winced cursing, abruptly swinging her gun around, hitting the half rotten body in the head, causing it to stumble to the side.

Zoey had herd the crash coming from the neighborhood to the right of the highway and jumped up instantly. Being a vampire she has speed and went to the house as fast as she could. She could smell the human and she was not going to loose another one.

Kira was dancing along the road, her heels clicking as she spun and jumped, flinging blood off the ends of her twin Katana. she giggled and smirked at all the dead moaners around her. She suddenly became dizzy, her brother Erick who was ambling behind her, his own bloodstained scimitar limp at his side, noticed this, he looked up at her, "Kai," said softly, "How long has it been since you fed?" Kira looked back, he tended to only use her pet name when he was worried. "I don't know, Erick." her voice held tinges of her reluctance to feed. Erick found a reasonably newer corpse, and ripped it arm off. he held it out to Kira, who grimaced, "Fine." she huffed and sunk her fangs into the soft rancid flesh. she gagged as she drank, she only drunk enough to take the edge off her hunger, refusing to drink allot, only enough to survive. "Better?" Erick asked. Kira glared. there was a loud noise in the distance, and Kira looked up to in, her eyes glittering, "Do you smell it Erick?" Erick nodded, "Yeah, Human." they both ran towards the scent, knowing it was time to kill more moaners.

"Brother...." Her voice was a soft whisper, her small form curled up against the wall. Bryn looked over to his little sister, her fair hair a tangled mess, falling in her face and hiding the eye patch over her left eye. A single blue hue met his much darker ones, void of emotion, void of anything. It tore Bryn apart seeing his only family like this, but there wasn't much he could do. "There's people here," Amber whispered again before lapsing into her usual silence. Bryn nodded, edging closer to his sister his gaze flickering up to the creaking floor boards above them. They had been hiding in the basement of this house for a while now, considering it had been well supplied with none perishable food. It was a place to rest, a place where Amber could sit and hold her ratty stuffed rabbit she carried everywhere with her. A few zombies came and went, and Bryn took care of them quickly and quietly, trying to keep on the down low. Apparently that didn't work for long.

He gripped the handle of his blade silently, his dark eyes narrowed and watching the basement door warily. Whoever was here... He could only hope they weren't here as the enemy. Killing zombies was one thing. But killing people? That was a path Bryn really didn't want to go down.

Victoria twisted again as the rotting carcass lunged towards her. She kicked it back, pulling her gun up, abruptly firing a bullet into it's skull. The sharp sound of the bullet echoed even louder in the small town, Victoria's eye's widening as the corpse collapsed to the floor un-moving. She was silent for a long pleading moment, flinching at the sound of moans coming from outside the small home. "F**k me.. " She hissed, darting outside the door, biting her lip as the entire neighborhood of Zombies closed in. Of course! She forgot to put the damn silencer on the barrel. A amateur mistake that is likely to cause her one hell of a crappy day. She pulled up the gun, firing with precision, killing 1, 2, 3.. 16.. Her gun clicked, the barrel empty as she again cursed. She twisted to the side, using the chair on the porch as a step, jumping up towards the roof. She managed to grab the edge of the drain, grunting as she pulled herself up. She winced slightly as cold fingers grabbed at her ankle, trying to pull her down. She kicked at the firm grips below her, kicking them off. Barely she managed to pull herself to the roof, falling back on her stomach, groaning again as she panted.

She didn't dare to look back and see how many of the damn beasts she had attracted, but it was a reality she would have to face sooner or later. Slowly she pressed herself up, looking down at the swarm she had so stupidly invited. She pulled four knifes from her belt, looking down at them. Four knifes, and about 32 zombies.. She seemed to be slightly short on weapons. She practically face palmed. If her damn father was here he would have lectured her about being a damn idiot. Who the hell takes off a silencer in the first place? In truth the damn thing didn't fit on the barrel when it was holstered.. And when she first came to this city it was quiet.. To think there was this many so close. She sighed, standing on the roof, staring down at the hungry crowed, narrowing her eyes as she looked around. There had to be someway out.. Although she wouldn't mind killing them all, it was a unwise choice to jump into a horde of zombies.. She'd die one day, but it sure as hell wasn't going to be by these damn things.

Kira and Erick came to the hoard surrounding the house. they exchanged a glance and both leaped into the fray, their blades ran through the rotted flesh. they fell like flies. it wasn't long until they were all dead. Kira hissed in pain, there was a nasty bite on her shoulder, Erick looked to her, and pulled a bandage out and wrapped it. she smiled art him, "Heh, thanks, good thing I cant get infected, right?"

A gunshot went off and Zoey herd a large amount of moaning and began to panic. She had fed on the zombies she had killed the day before, but she didn't know if she would have the strength to take out the large group of the living dead. The air then went silent and the moans ended, she continued to the house and saw a human girl on a roof. The house was surrounded by about 31 bodies of rotten beasts. The girl was safe, but how? Zoey then saw two vampires with blades covered in blood.

Amber barely reacted to the sharp sting of a gunshot, her single eye flickering up to the basement door. Beside her, Bryn warily edged closer, his blade out and ready in case they were attacked. Stuffed in the back of his jeans was a pistol, his free hand resting twitchily on his side in case he needed to grab it. Of course, he wasn't foolish and had a silencer attached, although it dug uncomfortably into the flesh of his lower back. Whoever was here... whatever was here. They'd be facing a load of hell if they came down to the basement.

Victoria looked down in shock, her eyes wide as the two vampires cut threw the hoarded crowd. Well.. That was convenient.. She still kept her hand on the blade, stepping towards the edge of the roof. She wasn't much of a truster of vampires.. At the end of the day they were zombies too.. She had only known one, one that had tried to rape her. Although, he found it quite hard when she decided to neuter him anyway. After that she didn't find trust in anyone.. Human's, Vampires.. Zombies. They all have a motive.. She's never believed it to be pure. Quietly she slipped off the roof, wincing as her stomach clawed at her conscious. Right.. She needed to eat..

She looked to the house door, ignoring the vampires, shifting back into the house. Where the hell was that food?

Ignoring the two vampires and the human Zoey walked passed them silently and went into the home. She could smell the human and vampire that were hiding in the basement and she could sense the tension. She walked to the basement door and knocked on it gently.

"I'm not here to hurt you, im here to help you." she wisperd trying not to get the attention of those outside.

Zoey turned around sharply to see the ones who had fallowed in behind her and pulled out her blade.

"What do you two want!" she snapped.

"Following the human we just saved you twit." Kira replied sharply. Erick sent her another silent glare, but his grip tightened on his scimitar none the less, "We don't plan on hurting anyone, unless they hurt us first." he rumbled. the underlying threat: We've killed vampires and are not afraid to again.

"Oh calm down you ass whole. There are more zombies than there are vampires. We are better off sticking together, I am here to protect the humans not argue with all the vampires around here." She snipped again glaring at the twins.

Bryn jolted at the voice, his eyes narrowing as he remained silent, pulling his sister behind him. "..." Despite the woman's words, he did not trust her. Already, he had run into too many vampires out to kill them, out to hurt them, and he wasn't going to just open up and trust one just yet.

Victoria rummaged threw the kitchen, growling in annoyance at empty cabinets. She shifted down the hall, seeing the three vampires bickering amongst themselfs. "Would you stop talking.. You going to attract more" She grumped, pushing them apart, her eyes shifting downstairs. She frowned at the man and girl, a smirk lining her lips as she sees a stock pile of food behind them. Ignoring the vampires she shifted down the stairs past the two taking haven in it, reaching for a jar behind the man. "Finally!" She praised, grabbing it.

Kira snorted, and then hissed as the movement of her throat caused more blood lo leak through the bandage. erick just nodded, and lead Kira inside the room to follow the first girl who had been stranded on the roof

"She needs to put peroxide on it. We may not turn into zombies, but that will get infected. Here, i have plenty of large bottles of this stuff." Zoey pulled out a large, brown bottle, and held it out to the the red head boy.

"Especially since there rotting corpses."

He glared back, "We've been bitten well enough times. we dont need help." he growled, and Kira nodded her assent. they had been colectivly bitten often enough that they no longer got sick or infections from the rotter's rancid bite, unless they got blood or guts into the open wound, but Erick had stopped an occurrence like that from happening. he lead Kira up to the more bass ass human ignoring the other male vampire and his human girl, he tipped his head to the be-combat-booted girl, "Are you alright? you were stranded on a roof..."

Bryn took this opportunity to get out. Quickly, he picked up Amber, resting her on his hip, slinging his backpack full of canned food over his shoulder. Keeping a wary eye on the three, he made his way towards the door, ready to escape.

Victoria looked back to Erick, raising a brow at him as the other human and vampire seemed to slip away. "... I wouldn't of called it stranded.. I was in need of a tan.. " There was a hint of sarcasm in her words, a smile lacing her lips. "But thank you.. All the same.." She pulled out a green bean from the can, eating it. "... I wouldn't stick around, all those zombies you killed will only attract more" She took another bite, pulling more of the cans into a bag she had found on the floor.
