Backstory:  A man is stricken with the realization that, ironically, in an age of technological advancement where communication is almost instantaneous, people have long forgotten how to *truly* communicate; that is, how to express themselves on an emotional level. He's disturbed and saddened by the fact that we've managed to trivialize the human experience by reducing it to a few text characters and "emoji". Damien yearns for something real, some kind of true human connection.

Inspiration: The dark and somber tone of the song, painted me a picture of a young man (literally) walking down a worn cobble path. Alone, and saddened by something about the world around him. Eventually, I realized that the song was about how man has isolated himself from those around him, unknowingly having build a wall of superficial communication. "Talking without speaking"- Sure, we can talk... But how many of us can actually *understand* one another? We, as a species, have lost much of our humanity.
