Background Information/History

Cynthia grew up learning gymnastics by the will of her mother.  While she never really excelled at it, she at least grew to like practicing.  This only lasted until 18, the age limit of the gymnastics classes. She never held a gun until 21, when she was discovered by her future employer.  She worked with the group for 3 years until she discovered their corrupt motives.  In order to break her ties, she was forced to kill all of her associates.  With her morals scarred, she decided it was better to just not ask questions.

She was first visited by the Pied Piper when she was 23, much too old for this sort of nonsense.  The first visit was simply shelved as a dream.  The second made her a bit puzzled, but not very worried.  When the third one hit, she started suspecting her coworkers of slipping something in her coffee.  After that, she simply kept searching for answers, none of which concerned entertaining the idea it was real.  Eventually, she mostly ignored it in favor of pretending she didn't notice the visits.

Her solo mutiny against her own friends caused her to be more unsettled than ever before.  She wondered soon after if she was at least partially schizophrenic, then thought about why she had to do what she did.  That made her even more unsure of herself and her rationalization for why she had to kill them.  But there was no time for regrets; she couldn't turn back time.  She started solo work, mostly high end jobs.  While her reputation was on the down low, it was still commendable.  She had no contact with her clients, so her identity could remain anonymous.  Before she started, she coined the name "Requiem" for herself.to use in business.  Her price is very high, so she only works semi-weekly.  Depending on the target, the story may make news, but it typically stays local.

She is not, and never has been, a fan of the Pied Piper.  He was always too sketchy for her, and she still believes him a part of her imagination.  She grew to dislike her imagination if for no other reason than her potential schizophrenia and still tries to repress it.  Now, only logic appeals to her.  Due to her mutiny, she tends to shy away from social interaction, though she still tries to overcome herself.  She no longer trusts herself due to the portent, but at least she is confident in her skills as a mercenary.

She jumped from the roof onto the balcony, landing gracefully in a kneeling position. Glancing around, she ensured that the area was void of life and light. With a flick of her finger, she activated her night vision goggles, then snapped her head to the glass door that separated her from her target. She tumbled to the door for dramatic effect, then grabbed her lockpicking tools. After a few seconds of fumbling, she held it up to the knob. Then she realized that it was a second story door and didn't have a lock. With a quick eyeroll to herself, she put them in her belt and opened it, letting it creak slowly open. Her light feet carried her to the bed, her neck craning slightly to the side to look at her target. He didn't seem too threatening, but looks didn't mean anything. In one fluid motion, she grabbed her pistol, latched her silencer on, aimed it, then pulled the trigger.

"The only one I can trust is myself."
