We haven't done cross-breeding with humans due to ethics, but we definitely could.

The only problem is that the offspring are infertile. Still, we get some pretty cool-looking abominations.

We probably can't cross-breed a human and turkey. Advancements in medical science might force it, but the result wouldn't be something likely to survive for long. The problem is that the DNA is too different for fertilization to occur at all. Note that the cross-breeds listed aren't that far from each other - Dolphin and whale, for example. There's nothing about, say, a cat and a dolphin.

If such abominations were to be created they need to be purged along with their creators and admonish the science of cross species altogether.

Humankind is corrupt enough as it is, we don't need to fuck ourselves up even more than we have been since we mysteriously appeared on this rock many thousands of years ago. When will we learn? I wouldn't exactly call the critters produced abominations. Were I to find one on the street, I would probably attempt to care for it, and depending on its behaviour, treat it as a person or as the species that it acted most like. But the action is too risky.
