Realistic or Modern Cop and Criminal

She was scares. Doubted her own self worth and if he had to guess she believed what the rest of her coworkers thought about her which was why she didnt like to cause waves.

Leo was reading the file and what they had. "1970s, we have better technology now. Besides we dont know if a dirty cop worked some od these and just left them cold. Every precinct has dirty cops. There is also time where a suspect who would have bren more careful eill slip up because he or she got away with murder." He was thinking outloud. "Besides, the families that are tied to these cases really dont care about if we failed. They care that we tried."

Leo put the folder back in the box ans then grabbed rhe box with both hands. "I'm going to work on these. You are more than welcome to help out. If not...well, you can see I will be plenty distracted to give you any sort of problems."

If his coworkers attempted to sabotage him then he would just go to the chief and requeat an internal investigation be done. If it was just childs play he wasnt anyone that would tolerate it.

For the rest of the day Leo was readinfnrhe file of one Olivia Barnes. She was 12 years old and found discarded in the woods naked and raped, her skull fractured by some sort of blunt weapon. No dna on the body and rhe suspects which were the divorced father and her teacher were both cleared with solid alibis.

Why there was only two suspects did have him wonder.

He went online and did some research on where she lived and who lived along her block during the time she died.

Most people hadnt even moved. They were dead or very old themselves.

He did stop at the neighbor a few blocks down. A hunter. 1978, now he was in his 80s but he still lived in the same house.

Getting up. "I'm going to go home, grab my dog and do some digging in the woods. You are more than welcome to help."

Mike Parker. He wasnt going to search near his house in the woods. No, he was going to search where Mikey worked at that time and around there. It was a hunch but he felt he was on the right path.

Nancy typed on her keyboard almost lazily. She was stuck in this forsaken shit hole of a town and Spencer was nowhere around. She hated it. Though she hated Sarah even more. It was Sarah all the time, it was all he could talk about. He was obsessed. Why couldn’t he see that she was here and just as good if not better than that woman. First off she was still here with him while she was gone. She didn’t have the pansy ass moral that bitch did, she had been here from the first time and had stayed. Now she had to be on the Sarah hunt and she hated it.

While she was drinking her Dr. Pepper she glanced over at the TV and sighed when Channing Tatum came on the screen. As she was mooning over a man she would never have her computer dinged. Startled she looked over and then grinned.

“Got you.”

The excitement caused her to cross her legs. Spencer wasn’t here to alleviate this excitement so she would focus on pulling up more information. This was it. Thought Spencer told her that he wanted her to find that bitch, he didn’t say that she couldn’t have fun with her first.

And fun she would have. Because this woman had caused her to have a miserable relationship she was going to give her the same. Nancy was going to ruin this little bitches life before she handed her over to Spencer. Shit, when her man came in to the picture little Sarah was going to beg him to take her back.

This was going to be so much fun. Pushing her long hair from her face she sat up and started doing some research. Nancy’s fingers flew over the keyboard so fast it was like a blur.

The idea of Chicago not bothering her almost made her smile. Almost. Ava hadn’t smiled in over two years. If she smiled now she was almost afraid her face would break. Better to not risk it. So she followed him out of the file room and sat at her desk.

Working on a few things she wanted to tie she ignored him. At least she tried to. Every now and then she would glance over and look at one of the pictures from the file. She would furrow her brows a moment, wondering what could cause that wound then catch herself. Shaking her head she went back to her own computer.

The work was slow going because she kept catching herself glancing over at his desk. Gods, why did his computer have to be right in front of her and why did he have to spread out like that? It was like he was tempting her with it but she wouldn’t fall for it. Stronger men than he have tried and failed. She would stay strong like she always did.

Bouncing her right leg she bit her lower lip gently when Chicago stood up. For a moment she looked up at him with slightly wide eyes before she came to her senses. Clearing her throat she let go of her lip with her teeth and stopped her leg. Sighing she pushed some hair behind her ear and leaned back.

For a moment she had the urge to tell him go on his own but the Chief’s voice rang loud and clear through her head telling her that he was her partner and therefore will ride with him, no matter how stupid he was being. So she stood up.

“Fine. Not like I have a choice. Chief made us partners and it’s my job to make sure you don’t get yourself killed. You’re driving though.”

Grabbing her wallet and putting it in her back pocket, she grabbed her cell phone, made sure her gun and badge was in place at her hips, then picked up her coffee and followed after him.

While she was following behind him she faltered a moment.

“Wait, what? You have a dog? You didn’t say anything about a dog. No, no dogs. I don’t do dogs.”

There was something akin to fear in her voice as she started following him, picking up her pace a little bit. This was not good. Chandler hadn’t ever been around a live animal before and she wasn’t excited to start now.
