Code Geass:
Lelouch of the Insurrection
"It wasn't me who was wrong, it was the world."
Summary:

There are four main factions within this world. There is the United Federation of Nations and their Black Knights, The Geass Order, The Insurrection, and The Tranquillam Pacem; all with varying personal beliefs and goals. The setting takes place right after the events of Zero Requiem in R2 of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, five years afterward. Because of the differing opinions of each side, there is a current power struggle leading to another fight for world dominance. Each faction has their own idea of peace and how the world should be structured, creating chaos as their continual clash has a residual effect on the entire planet.

The UFN and the Black Knights believe their charter is the most liberating and peace inducing form of governance that will allow for everyone in every nation to experience life to its fullest.

The Geass Order believes that the handful of people offered the Geass Code were needed to help shape humanity through their extreme means. They felt that those selected for the Geass already possessed the ability and will far above the average and had ambitions that would reflect upon society and help determine its structure.

The Insurrection feels that the UFN and the Black Knights are inept in maintaining order and peace among these times of The Geass Order’s uprising. Due to past experience of the Geass from a third party’s perspective, The Insurrection determined that a fresh approach is needed in handling the situation, as well as to form a more complex system of government to replace the current charter.

The Tranquillam Pacem desires to have absolute peace, and do not see Geass as a threat to their humanity; but rather simply an aspect of life. They are a religious organization determined to unite the ordinary people with Geass users to prove that both could coexist and that the code did not create an inequality.

◙ Rules:

Please read through everything.

1. No Mary Sues.

2. No God Modding (overriding other characters’ actions by having ridiculously powerful abilities or making your character extremely lucky; constantly being able to avoid damage or drama).

3. No one liners. Posts must have at least a paragraph and contribute towards the development and world building of the role play.

4. Quality of writing is required for this role play. Try to avoid too many grammatical errors and be sure to include punctuation. It can be difficult to catch every mistake when it comes to grammar, but run-on sentences can be hard to follow… so please focus on punctuation.

5. Plan your interactions with others. To avoid conflicting interests, if you want to have an interaction with someone else’s character that involves fighting, private message them ahead of time and plan the outcome.

6. For any other interaction that two or more parties cannot agree on the outcome, the use of the dice system in the Discord is required.

7. Stay in-character. Any out of character chat will be kept in either #general or #out-of-character-chat within the Discord.

8. Canon characters must first be auditioned and accepted before role playing.

9. Original Characters (OC’s) are also required for auditions and can be created any time. Auditions will consist of testing your writing ability as well as ensuring your character is reasonable and not overpowered. They must also fit in with the plot and not be storybreaking.

10. There is no limit to how many characters you can have at a time, but you must ensure you do not lose track of them all, and kill them off if you no longer want to use them.

11. Have fun!

◙ Plot:

It is the year 2023. The events of Zero Requiem have resulted in a united and universal government overseeing the nations in attempts to establish world peace. After the astounding yet short-lived tyrannical rule of Lelouch vi Britannia, many sought after the quality of life above all else; abolishing societal norms such as status or favoritism. For the first few years, time simply moved forward as the day by day continued in normalcy. Like all good things however, the transient must eventually reach its conclusion.

Because of Lelouch vi Britannia’s previous actions against them, The Geass Order seeks to bring their reprimanding upon the world. V.V. has been slain, and C.C. has abandoned them. Yet despite losing their well tenured directors, The Order has roots deeper than those within the remnants of Britannia; and are not solely dependent upon their mere late additions. The longstanding history and power of The Order far surpasses the modernization of man, and they will not allow for simple advancements to make light of their authority. With the tradition of the contract desecrated, and mankind imposing their own wills to create a new and accursed world, The Order feels that judgement must be cast. The peace that mankind claims to have created is nothing short of perversion. Much like Charles’ projection, society has functioned under the guise of hope and happiness while at the core continuing down their path toward devastation. It would not be for long until the world reverted back to its fundamental tendencies: to segregate the strong from the weak. The world needed a correcting, a re-alignment. Man was meant to be ruled by those with wisdom, not to be left liberated from structure. This was why The Order agreed to finally reveal their entirety to all the Earth, announcing their reclamation of the planet and all of its inhabitants. It was then, henceforth that The Order began its own righteous conquests… opposing the unified nations and its government in attempts to seize power.

The Order’s military was vast; its recruitment kept secret from those outside of The Order. While it mainly consists of men and women simply with innate ability, the armies are led by Generals that contain the power of the Geass. Due to their reproductive plant being destroyed from Lelouch’s earlier assault, their production of Geass users had stagnated. Though with the expansion of their Order through conquering territories, their operations have resumed and more Geass users are currently being created. With this in mind The United Federation of Nations dedicated research to the Geass Canceller, to counteract the effects of The Geass Order. This team was led by none other than Jeremiah Gottwald, the original prototype for such a device. Being assigned as a special forces unit for the Black Knights, the Anti-Geass Force (AGF) were deployed among the many regions of the UFN to hinder the increasing threat of The Order. The battle between the UFN’s Black Knights and The Geass Order rages on, waiting for the final factor that would change the course of the war.

Outside of the seemingly unavoidable war, are those who disagree with the UFN’s handling of the Geass uprising. The misuse and mistreatment of the Geass were the primary causes of Lelouch the Demon usurping Britannia’s throne, as well as his eventual control of the entire world. In their mind, such an ability should not be addressed in a primitive fashion; and many feel that the UFN does not comprehend the full extent of the Geass. Thus, a handful of individuals have formed a revolutionary organization known as The Insurrection. The Insurrectionists comprise of people from a variety of demographics… including those who were former and current Black Knights, UFN ambassadors, and even angel investors. This third party faction continues to gather an increasing volume of followers, with small missions being carried out periodically to obtain the additional resources needed to legitimize their movement. Many bystanders have begun to compare The Insurrection to the early stages of The Black Knights, where their ideologies reach a commonality. The single goal of The Insurrection is to overthrow the UFN and change their very simplistic system of government; a goal that has critics convinced of The Insurrection’s resemblance to The Black Knights.

In the midst of both the war, as well as the infighting lie those who believe in absolute unity. These individuals have an unequivocal resolve to establish “true peace”, which they feel will only be accomplished if the existence of Geass was accepted rather than despised. The practice of inclusion and harmony with both the Geass and Non-Geass users became more prominent as some people began leaving The Order and Black Knights… even going as far as developing relationships and marriages between the two for the sake of political statement. Such a group formed a religion, with its practices emphasizing the possibility of this true peace and coexistence. This group is known as The Tranquillam Pacem.

With the clashing of these beliefs, values, and factions, the world was in for its biggest alteration known to man. Its future and direction has become unclear; left at the hands of those who lead these now divided powers.

What will become of it all?

Name: Suzaku Kururugi
Age: 23
Gender: Male

Faction(s): United Federation of Nations, Black Knight Commander (Zero), Nunnally's protector
Role: Canon Character
Geass: Does not possess a Geass ability but is still effected by Lelouch's Geass to LIVE which originally prevented him from jeopardizing his life in anyway. Since then he has refined this into a way to optimize his ability as a fighter and Knightmare Pilot and guide his own actions provided he does not intentionally cast aside his life.
Abilities: Powerful survival drive, Physically fit/adept, Undeniable Willpower, Martially trained both by Britannia and General Todoh
Skills: Natural and Extremely gifted Knightmare Pilot, Extremely Agile Combatant, While his own planning is no where as extensive as Lelouch he is still a quick thinker and a capable person able to follow complex roles and plans to the letter.
Strengths: Fearless, Determined and highly resilient
Weaknesses: Still golds a great deal of guilt and shame for some of his past actions, Has cast aside his own personality and life as Suzaku leaving him isolated from most personal relationships other than Nunnally. Known to sometimes Tunnel his vision at times in terms of planning and action.

Backstory: The son of Japan's Prime Minister, A Soldier of the Britannian Empire, A student and friend, That grew to be a knight and protector of royalty before becoming the Knight of Seven to the Knight of Zero and finally Zero himself. Fighting through many trials and tribulations and shifts of character along his life. Once a self righteous knight for justice that wished to change the corrupt and tyrannical views of his own nations worst enemy to a man who understood that he could not solely play the hero and that sometimes drastic action was necessary to reach the ends of ones goals and ambitions.

Holding a complex relationship with Lelouch he would battle with himself on his hatred and love for his closest friend until he finally understood the intricate web of lies led to a world the two of them both believed in and would fight for to the end. Both knowing when fighting at another side there was nearly nothing that could stand against them. Suzaku would be seen as a traitor once more and side with the Demon Emperor of Britannia, standing as a force of power that not even the Knight of One could stand against until finally being defeated and seemingly killed by the Guren and her pilot Kallen.

From that point on he would take the ruse of his death and take the mantel of Zero as he accepted the Geass Lelouch bestowed upon him to protect and guide the world onward to peace for the rest of his days. No longer being Suzaku Kururugi but the symbol of Zero. To this day only a select few know of his identity or even his survival. C.C. and Nunnally while Kallen also knows out of speculation due to understanding the plan of the Zero Requiem Lelouch and Suzaku had to perform together.

Extras: The Lancelot's location is held in secret for the worst case scenario should Suzaku ever need to use the Knightmare again. As it stands it is currently a statue of Tyranny as the last weapon of Lelouch's Empire.

Currently Suzaku constantly guards Nunnally and aids her in her continued mission for world peace.

Suzaku also is equipped with a voice/tone changer that changes as he speaks on the rare occasions he chooses to do so.

Lelouch vi Britannia

600829

600831600832

Nickname/Codename: Zero (Formerly), Lulu, The Black Prince and Dominus (Current)

Age: 23

Gender: Male

Faction: N/A

Role: Canon Character

Geass: The Power of the King; the ability to force anyone who makes eye contact to obey. Can only be used on the same person once.

Abilities: Strategic and tactical prowess, quick-witted, intellectual, adaptive survival instinct, charismatic, theatrical, analytical, psychological assessment.

Skills: Knightmare piloting, leadership, management, chess playing.

Strengths: Incredible thought capacity, the ability to the think on the spot, composed, resolved, tenacious.

Weaknesses: Physically weak, lacking any form of athleticism, prone to error, too prideful at times.

Backstory: Beginning as an exiled prince and ending as a fallen Emperor, Lelouch had reached the pinnacle of his life; fulfilling his ultimate goal of uniting the world and creating a place where his beloved sister could thrive. Everything he possibly wanted to attain had been accomplished, and with his closing eyes and final breath he smiled with deep satisfaction. He could not ask for anything more, and ultimately his demise meant little. He was already living a mere husk of a life... incarnated by a cesspool of lies and deceit. In his final hour, many wondered who the real Lelouch was among the many personas he had projected. If anyone were to ask him in the afterlife which was his true self, they would be met with a very perplexed Lelouch. Even he was unsure of who he truly was anymore. He had lived a lie for so long in a seemingly mundane universe that when he received his Geass, nothing changed except for the speed of his endgame. The many facets of his personality and mind frame have been too altered over the course of his actions that distinction became a distant unfamiliar concept. It all comprised of what was known as the man called Lelouch, and he was many things to many people: A prince, a brother, a lover, an ally, an enemy, a friend, a deceiver, a traitor, a manipulator, a cynic, a creator and a destroyer. The only conclusion that Lelouch could reach would be that he was whatever he needed to be; not what the people wanted him to be. It was because of that very difference in philosophy that the world was able to be guided onto the path towards peace. At least, that is what his death had been meant to result.

A hooded figure, an unknown power, and a hidden motive somehow brought Lelouch to where he was now: alive. Alive, and in despair. He had died in the most theatrical and poetic of ways, and the cycle of his life had been complete. Yet in spite of all of this, he had been resurrected for reasons he remained unaware of... at least partially. The unknown perpetrator who had snuck past the hordes of celebrating citizens after the events of Zero Requiem managed to sift through the mix of trampled confetti and garbage toward the unresponsive corpse of The Black Prince. Moments later he found himself with his eyes open facing an unrecognizable face sitting in front of him in an unfamiliar room. The ominous individual gave a very brief and ambiguous prophecy; or rather a forewarning, of events that would soon transpire. Apparently he had been brought back with the purpose of reshaping the future of humanity once more, though the details were nowhere to be found... and Lelouch was left with both disbelief and depression. He felt that his newfound life was pointless, as he could never return to who he was. Reappearing after such a climatic end would be more than damaging to anyone who had been relatively close to him. Not taking heed to the mysterious character's words, Lelouch devoted what excuse for a life he now had to gambling and Refrain. At the very least, he would build a reputation within the underworld and use his earnings to create his own desirable world where Lelouch the Demon failed to exist; and only Lelouch Lamperouge would thrive. His addiction to Refrain kept him stagnate, unwilling to wander into the surface world. With a newly formed persona adorned, Lelouch continues to this day in the underbelly of Britannia to explore the pleasantries gambling had to offer him. It was there where the name "Dominus" was born and became of interest to the many patrons within the illegal casinos.

Weapons: A handgun in case of emergencies.

C.C.
"Do you know why snow is white? ...

Name: Redacted
Nickname/Codename: C.C.
Age: Redacted
Gender: Female
Faction: N/A
Role: Canon Character
Geass: Code (Formerly the power to compel others to love her unconditionally.)
Abilities:
  • Immortality: Thanks to her Code, C.C. is immortal. Nothing can kill her, although she can be injured and still experiences pain.
  • Gift of Geass: C.C. has the ability to gift other people with a Geass.
  • Geass Detection: C.C.'s Code allows her to detect people who have a Geass, as well as those who are important to them. She can thus detect the location of her own contractors from a distance. Also, she can determine whether a person possesses a Geass, no matter who gave it to them.
  • Merging of Consciousness: C.C. can force a person's mind to hallucinate through physical contact, either through a Knightmare or by directly touching them. The hallucinations vary depending on the subject and usually have something to do loosely with their memories. This effect is described as a merging of consciousness.
  • Empathy: After having been through so much in her own life, C.C. can empathize with a lot of people. That doesn't mean she does much about it, though, as she finds it very difficult to connect with others despite this ability.
  • Wisdom: Since C.C. has been around for so long, it's only natural that she's wiser than most people. She knows about human nature and raises her own philosophical questions every now and then, although usually to herself.
  • Sarcasm: Self-explanatory.
Skills:
  • Firearm Proficiency: C.C. has trained herself to use firearms. She isn't the best marksman on the planet, but she's more than capable of holding her own in a firefight.
  • Unarmed Combat: Over time, there grew a need for C.C. to learn how to fight without arms. She isn't the strongest, but she is quick and efficient in her attacks. She knows how and where to hit someone to take advantage in a fight almost instantaneously.
  • Knightmare Pilotage: As Knightmares became more and more frequent to see, C.C. found the desire to learn how to operate them. Now, she is a skilled pilot and has even been able to co-pilot that Gawain with Lelouch alongside several standard Knightmare frames.
  • Survival: It was necessary for C.C. to learn how to survive, especially during humanity's worst times. She is more than capable of taking care of herself, even in the toughest of situations.
Strengths: Strategy and wisdom
Weaknesses: Impulsivity and passivity
Backstory: C.C. had thought Lelouch was dead. The connection was severed. She had felt that distinctly, as well as a swirl of other indiscernible emotions that accompanied watching him fall over into his own blood. And yet, as she began to walk away, not knowing where to go from there, she felt their contract be restored. Once more, she was connected with Lelouch, a soft, pulsating sensation swelling up in her chest that was all too familiar. He was alive. Alive. And she was going to find him, just like she had done after his father had erased his memories. After all, there was nothing else she really could do.

It took longer than C.C. had expected. She didn't have the Black Knights assisting her this time around. It was just her and her contract with Lelouch that kept her going. Something was distinctly wrong, though. It was harder than it ever had been to feel him. For some reason, their connection was growing weaker and weaker. Whether that was due to Lelouch not using his Geass as often, or if something else was interfering with it all, C.C. didn't know. She wasn't there with him, after all, and had no way of figuring out what was going on. That hurt more than anything.

However, as she desperately delved into the depths of Britannia's dark side, rumors began to spread of a person called Dominus, someone with incredible skills at gambling. He was a genius who was infamous amongst those who attended the underground casinos, his name spreading like wildfire as of late. Something clicked when C.C. learned this, and she continued to pursue this mysterious figure, fully believing that if he was not Lelouch himself, he was at least backed by him. It took a while to really narrow things down, but she finally has the confidence to be able to pick him out from the crowd. That is if he doesn't do the same to her.
... Because it's forgotten what color it's supposed to be."

Kaito
"Doubt kills more dreams ...

Name: Kaito
Nickname/Codename: Kai
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Faction: The Geass Order
Role: General
Geass: Alters the perception of reality
Abilities:
  • Reality Warping: Kaito's Geass allows him to alter people's perception of reality within a certain area. Currently, he can only induce mild hallucinations such as sounds and small imagery. It is possible that, with time and further mastery of his Geass, he will be able to completely change the world around him. The bigger the hallucination, the greater his headaches are afterward.
    • In the past, when he was younger and just starting to use his Geass, he tried to do something too extreme: conjure an entire person. He was rendered immobile immediately after the fact, his migraine so terrible that he felt on the verge of throwing up.
    • When the Order was in its prime, Kaito was used as an assassin. He never killed anyone with his own hands, though. Rather, he used his Geass to make people go slowly insane until they completely lost their minds and killed themselves. It was easy to clean up his traces afterward.
  • Reflexes: For as long as he can remember, Kaito has had lightning-fast reflexes. It's thanks to them that he's been able to survive for as long as he has. However, there are instances where his emotional state can hinder him. He tries not to let that get in the way.
  • Stubbornness: Even at the worst of times, Kaito can be incredibly stubborn and feisty. He doesn't like being told what to do and will often disobey orders without a second thought if he thinks it's for the best. For the few times he's done this, things have worked out fine, but it's really only a matter of time before his actions have real, deadly consequences.
  • Inquisitive: Something most people know Kaito for is how often he questions things. He likes knowing why and how things are the way they are. This can quite often come off as annoying, but he doesn't mean it. He just likes knowing the way the world works.
  • Naivety: Kaito is fairly gullible, especially considering that he hasn't seen much of the world yet. He's too quick to trust and is thus easy to manipulate.
Skills:
  • Combat: Kaito was trained in unarmed and armed combat, as well as self-defense. Despite his appearance, he can hit surprisingly hard, but he dislikes fighting this way. He much prefers having a Knightmare on standby, ready to use when necessary. Even then, he finds it gross getting his own hands dirty. It's impossible to remain clean in this world for long, though, and he has technically been responsible for more deaths than he can count.
  • Knightmare Pilotage: One of Kaito's favorite things to do is to pilot Knightmares. He loves tinkering with them, too, and has been dreaming of one day making his own custom frame.
  • Technological Prowess: Having grown up in a period of technological advancements, Kaito finds himself enjoying the many new tools that have come into existence. He knows how to use all the latest gadgets and loves modifying/programming them.
  • Leadership: Being a general, Kaito has learned how to keep both himself and his subordinates in check. It's taken a lot of effort to develop the proper leadership skills, and even now he's not perfect. Often, he messes up, as charisma is one of his weak points. He has a lot of courage himself, but doesn't know how to transfer that to others.
Strengths: Smarts, combat, confidence
Weaknesses: Gullibility, charisma, impulsivity
Backstory:
... than failure ever will."

Note: Information will be subsequently added as the plot progresses and secrets reveal. The character sheet will be updated accordingly and correspond to every piece of information leaked.

Name: Alistair Wake
Codename: Shrouded Baron, Maximilian Crowe II, Heir of the Red Branch, Heir of Fianna
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Faction: Black Knights
Role: Combatant/Knightmare pilot
Geass: N/A
Abilities: Blood of Knights- Alistair has the mindset of a guardian in his blood, dating all the way back to the days of Celtic knights. He's very adept at fighting, especially with swords and spears.
Detective's Intuition: Alistair is quite perceptive, as is the case with most private detectives. He tends to notice various details, from people to situations, and can act on them, accordingly.
Skills: Gunsmithing, Knightmare piloting, hand-to-hand combat, sniping
Strengths: Well-versed in combat, both inside and outside a Knightmare, capable of planning, quickly, hard to predict during combat.
Weaknesses: Highly vulnerable when defending an ally from an attack, doesn't believe that people will befriend him, in his mind, traumatized by the deaths of his parents.
Backstory: Alistair Wake was born as the child of Baron Phoenix Wake and his Honorary Britannian wife, Cheryl Wake, a former noble couple that moved to Japan, due to their disagreement with Briannia's methods. Alistair had enjoyed being with his parents and being in Japan, slowly but surely managing to become friends with his Japanese classmates. However, those happy days came to an end, when Britannia invaded Japan, the Knightmare Frames shocking Alistair on his way home and killing his parents, right in front of him. Somehow being left alive, Alistair alone was forced to bury his parents, no matter how much it hurt, and traveled onward, knowing that Britannia was taking away another nation's freedom.

For years, Alistair had been aiding rebel groups fighting back against Britannia, but kept getting kicked out, due to his Britannian looks. After another failed attempt at being part of a resistance group, Alistair had to take up the pseudonym of his late father, Maximilian Crowe, a well-known private detective from the Britannian Homeland. As Maximilian Crowe II, Alistair earned plenty of money, much more often then the underground fight clubs he fought in, then shut down and took the money belonging to the criminals who ran the joints. He even applied to Ashford Academy, so that he could further his education. Then, one day, along came a masked man named Zero, and his faction known as the Black Knights. Alistair then felt like he finally had a group he could belong to.

Alistair joined up with the Black Knights, aiding the fight against Britannia as a Knightmare pilot, being quite a formidable foe to the tyrannical forces. After Tohdoh's escape from prison, however, his identity was discovered by several Britannian soldiers who cornered him. They recognized his icy blue eyes as belonging to Baron Phoenix Wake, a man who had disappeared from the Homeland. The soldiers were more shocked at the fact that Alistair's father died during the invasion, and because of that, they had no choice but to let Alistair go, the young man not knowing if his identity had become public knowledge or not. Things got worse, during the Black Rebellion, having been among the only ones not captured by Britannia, and wounded by an enemy Gloucester, miraculously surviving with mere scratches. After passing out from the pain, Alistair was surprised when he found himself alive, and without any friends around.

Upon hearing of the chance to rescue Zero, Alistair took his chance, aiding the Black Knights once more. He continued to feel better, once again working with the Black Knights. But, when Schneizel made the Black Knights doubt Zero, he was the only one who didn't buy into it, trusting Zero and seeing him as a friend. However, his words changed nothing, and Lelouch Lamperouge became Lelouch vi Britannia, Emperor of Britannia. Alistair was not present at the battle at Mt. Fuji, as he had taken his family's fortune, closed up his private detective office, taken his belongings and disappeared, potentially due to Zero Requiem being completed.

Now, Alistair Wake, donning an attire worn by his late father, the attire of a Britannian rebel named the Shrouded Baron, joins up with the Black Knights, once more, never taking off the mask that covers his face, nor the hat that covers his hairstyle. Due to the events of Zero Requiem, he is psychologically hurt, further depressed and having yet to recover fully from his parents' deaths, let alone Zero Requiem. Not even he knows if the man named Alistair Wake is liked, hated or flat-out forgettable, or if he will ever recover and have friends, again.
