The city’s only bookstore, Antaracs sells books on history, medicine, magik and bios on the Apollo family and their research at the family’s labs, edited by the Apollo’s themselves, of course. Some research need not make its way to the sphere of public knowledge. The bookstore is owned by Michaud Antarac, Uncle of Gabriel Antarac and teacher of magik to his young nephew. As high Elves among humans, the Antaracs know it will only be a matter of time before that magik will be a necessary tool for survival. The bookstore is located between the upper and lower Markets because, as Michaud loves to say, “the poor need books and knowledge more than the rich as a weapon against the repression and mistreatment of the upper classes.” Contained deep within its shelves are secrets Michaud Antarac would die to protect.
