"The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it."
personality
LIKES: Rain, food, sleeping, composing, guitar + piano
DISLIKES: Overly sweet things, soft drinks, mornings, nudity
Nam-il could be described as quiet, and perhaps cold or unapproachable, based on first impressions. He has been told he has something of a "resting bitch face", which he supposes is true enough, though it is simply how his face is and he doesn't intend to deter anyone with it. Because in actuality, he is really quite friendly and can be a complete dork when he wants to. However, due mostly to his age, Nam-il is mature and decisive, and he has no problem speaking his mind. Some might find him boring, but they don't see his passion for singing or the happiness he feels when he's on stage. So if someone wanted to get him to open up, to put a smile on that face, all they have to do is mention music.

history
Nam-il was born an only child to his middle-class parents in the city of Incheon. Being their only son, he was expected to be the man of the house when he grew up, which is where his mature and almost parental attitude comes from. He didn't know he wanted to be a singer until after he graduated high school. Nam-il took a year off, postponing university in order to help his parents out and figure out what he really wanted to do with his life. During that time, he took up guitar and taught himself some of the popular songs on the radio, and he would sing along as he played. When his mother heard his voice, she encouraged him to pursue a career in it, wanting him to make the most of his talent. His father wasn't all that thrilled when he heard the news, but now that their son is an extraordinarily successful and famous singer, he can't help but be proud of him. Nam-il has been on numerous shows, including After School Club, Weekly Idol, and Running Man.
