History:

Born the child of a visiting Scotsman, a member of the Royal Marines of the Queen's Navy, and he daughter of a powerful member of the Triad in Hong Kong. Young Fu Shen was never meant to be and a disgrace to the family. So much so that his father was killed by his outraged uncle and would've soon fallen to the man's blade had he not seen the I-Ching at the side of his sister. Great fear showed in her eyes, more so given the many bodies that lie around her and the simple words, written in the blood of the fallen, near the I-Ching that simply read "Death shall befall any that seek harm to this blessed child."

Fu Shen was never told this, but it was known throughout the higher leadership that he was not to be killed, but there was nothing to say that he was not be tormented, ridiculed, teased, and hurt time and again. And such was the tone that was set for the bulk of the boy's years.

Fu Shen was trained, educated and, so very often, beaten severely as he learned lesson after lesson that his grandfather saw fit for him to learn. And it was obvious that such a child should be reminded, daily, that he was a mistake. It showed in so many of the features that were similar to his late father in build, hair color, and even temperament. Only his eyes and skin tone seemed to show his Asian heritage.

Fu Shen fought, and fought hard for everything he ever earned in his life. And by later years he had many scars to prove it. He had learned the ways of Kung Fu, learning to fight with weapons, fists, and feet. And his Triad brethren made sure he know how to handle a gun as was necessary in their world. While late at night, behind closed doors, he was told the many stories of ancient China, of its heritage, and its culture. And he always had to make sure that he could be the best, as it was the only way he could earn and, later, keep anything.

He earned his place, very slowly, in the Triads of Hong Kong, never using his family name, and rising steadily to greater responsibility. And yet he never seemed to get very far. More than anything he began to gain a reputation of ruthlessness and expediency at taking down some of the fiercest foes, and oftentimes in such ways as to leave even his fellow Triad members shivering.

It was on the day of his final admission into the ranks of the Triad, of adulthood, even though very late in the years for him, that his small family was attacked and the ritual interrupted by a beast of such ancient ways that only his mother seemed to know of its existence. Her lips sought to utter its name and within moments the beast tore her down in cold blood. And in that moment as he watched his mother fall dead to the floor that he saw he blood splattered across the tapestry of a tiger enraged and battling that all things became clear. This creature's time had come as if it had been foretold so long ago, and it was he that was to make sure this happened.

Only his grandfather and he walked out of that room, greeted by other Triad members coming to aid them. Neither spoke of what had occurred in there. One thing was for sure, from that day forward he was known as the Tiger of the Heavens of Clan Chien. And the first person to speak against this, his uncle, soon lie dead split seconds later by a single bullet from Fu Shen's own gun. And when other sought to react in great rage at such impudence it was Fu Shen's grandfather that called all others off and let it be known that Heaven itself decreed the change and so it was.
