"Your effective date of termination will be the last Friday of this month. We thank you for your years of service and dedication to this company. Please accept the enclosed gift as a token of our appreciation.
Sincerely,
Management"

And like that, he heard the ticking of the clock over head still until it wasn't even moving. Time had stopped. It might as well have. Everything he had built, all his power and respect he had taken by blood and by force and by sheer good looks and silver tongue... all of it gone. He had put in so much to this building... and by the end of the month it would be nothing but another boarded up highway blot. As useless as the billboard for that Thai restaurant that couldn't cut it and they just forgot to pull the ad. You want Thai food? Hope you're not fooled by the bowl of curry and fancy text standing tall and unlit over exit 16. That was him. He was now just a useless, angry, and jobless bowl of unlit curry.

But damnit if he wasn't going to make this last month hell for anyone involved. These were his staff. These were his patients. Management could go jump off that billboard.

Who's Playing Who
This plot will follow along the Carl Gray Home, known in the tri state region as being the last mental hospital within miles with a less than stellar reputation. The residents? The stuff of child hood ghosts stories, whether or not it's true. The staff? Scarier than the residents.

Meet Your Cast
MEET YOUR CAST
Facility Warden
Name: Miguel L. Collier
Age: 32
Brief description of looks: Taller, imposing, with a very piercing stare Miguel stands at about 6'1" and has the physique of someone who probably goes to the gym everyday. He doesn't; he blames it on very good genetics. Sandy brown nape length hair is swept back, usually from running his hands through it with stress. There's gray/white peppered throughout it already at such a young age. Hazel, non-descript eyes set underneath a darkened brow gives him a constant thinking appearance. Usually seen in well kept business attire, he's intimidating without meaning to be.
How did you get to be the Warden at the Carl Gray Home? (background): Miguel was always with his nose in a book, so when he went through college he was able to expedite his classes, sacrificing years of socializing and drinking/partying to graduate ahead of his class with a business administration degree in management. Throughout all this hard work, he was able to snag a wife at a young age who happened to be a nurse at the Carl Gray Home. With a stroke of luck, he interviewed to take over the leaving warden's position. He and his wife had to make multiple promises to people across the board that the relationship would not be reflected in his or her work ethic. Years later, poor decisions by those above him and poor execution by those under him lead to the current dismal state of the building and a terribly messy divorce. Miguel feels bitterness and agitation with the entire debacle; he had amazing visions for this place and they were taken from his bound hands brick by brick.
What went wrong? (current attitude/motivation): He's a year out from the divorce, and replaced a lack luster feeling of love for his ex-wife with the warmth of a drink and holding his own in the failing Carl Gray Home. He's determined to either close out this place on a bang or go out with a bang, which ever presents to screw over the people who shattered his dreams more.
Any accolades? (skills, hobbies, etc.): He considers himself a concert pianist, trained for several years before and after college though he has horrible stage fright so he's never actually performed in a concert setting. There's a baby grand in the art wing of the building, when the night draws late he usually brushes up there. Miguel also moonlighted as a bar tender during a financially rough part of college, so he can whip up a great White Russian.
Any love interests?: With his ex-wife out of the building, Miguel doesn't even think about love. Though he has found his eyes lingering a little too long on some people. The part that bothers him, they've been men. He's drinking more to deal with that though.
Anything else we should know?: Miguel used to be a shining star in the Carl Gray Home. Hosting musical therapists, field trips for those most stable, taking personal interest in cases when there was to be a 'release' party, and a figure in the community known for loving his work and his staff. Years of having his hands tied behind his back, learning to hate the words 'that's not in the budget', he's grown more and more cold and bitter and feels years past his current age.

Assistant to Warden
Name: Forest Mannings
Age: 24
Brief description of looks: long waist length black/brown hair, often tied up in a bun, Green eyes, olive skin and a slim face, hourglass figure and she has a bit of muscle.
How did you get to be the Assistant to the Warden? (background): Forest was raised to strive to learn and be the best, so that's what she did, she studied every day for hours on end in order to keep her grades near perfect scores. She loved to learn as well, spending any free time she had, studying psychology and mental health. She had known from an early age that she wished to help people, specifically those with mental health issues, and managed to land herself the assistant warden role at this mental institute.
What went wrong? (current attitude/motivation): Forest is just trying to keep the place running, and all the staff sane enough to help her do so. Though, all the stress is wearing her out and it seems as if she's slowly getting more anxious and paranoid as the days go by.
What is there outside of work? (skills, hobbies, etc.): She spends her free time either learning or boxing. Her physical health is very important to her and she tries to keep herself in the best possible shape. She can calm people down quite easily, as she has studied anything and everything she has been able to about the disorders her patients have and what could help them.
Any love interests?: Not at the moment
Anything else we should know?: she can often be quite a flirt as well.

How did you get to be a Nurse here?: After an incident involving a relative's suicide, Jane decided she wanted to pursue psychology to prevent any other suicides she possibly could. She got a job at Carl Grey due to it being understaffed at the time, and she isn't deathly afraid of the mentally ill like a lot of other people.
Any medical areas of expertise?: She has a PhD in Clinical Psychology and a lesser degree in Cognitive Psychology. She also loves to paint, absolutely adores children and animals, and has a deep love of board and card games.
Any love interests?: She's involved with a security guard somewhat. Her name is Ashley. (Played by GayGoggles GayGoggles )

View attachment 535814View attachment 535815
How did you get to be a Nurse here?:
After Nikki's little sister was killed in a hate crime perpetrated by someone suffering from MPD, she became interested in neurological studies and psychology. She originally enrolled in a neurosurgery program, hoping to perform surgeries that could potentially fix these issues, but was rejected. She then found herself in need of a job, and came to Carl Gray during one of it's bouts of understaffing.
Known to sometimes get a little too personal with the patients, Nikki has in the past struggled with anxiety and crippling SAD (Social anxiety disorder.) Nikki was verbally abused by her older sisters, and has self-esteem issues from it though she thinks it is normal. Though Nikki is recovered, she is still prone to mild anxiety attacks on rare occasions.
Any medical areas of expertise? (skills, hobbies, etc): Nikki attended pre-med and then went to medical school, focusing on pathology and psychiatry. She was then rejected for a neurology residency, and temporarily served as home health aide. She has a Bachelor's in Chemistry, and a Pre-Medical degree.
Nikki enjoys games such as chess, and frequents the Art Room. She can play basic piano.
Any love interests?: Nikki is friendly with Ashley, a security guard, and is interested in getting to know Cardinal. She frequently checks in with Miguel, though he isn't really a love interest for her. (Played by GayGoggles GayGoggles , L LadyLuckTakeTheWheel , and SerianX13 SerianX13 )
Anything else we should know?: Nikki tries her hardest to keeps things light, and comes across as incredibly positive though she has many of her own doubts and fears. She occasionally takes liking to a patient or two. Nikki is also allergic to walnuts.

Security
Name: Ashley "Ash" Niosi
Age: 29
Brief description of looks: Ash's go to look for the Carl Gray Home would be her trademarked frizzy ponytail, no makeup, and sweatpants. The only thing darker then Ash's brown eyes are the deep purple eyebags underneath her eyelids. Despite looking ready to fall asleep at almost any moment, Ash is someone who looks untouchable. She's 6'2", has defined muscle, and a prominent resting bitch face.
Ashley FC
How did you get to be a Security Officer here?: Ashley graduated highschool with no where to go, and no money to dream. She had always been boxing since the sixth grade, and had managed to keep up with the sport even after she graduated. With no college degree, Ash took many different jobs just to get by, until she landed in the ward. The pay was decent enough, all she had to do was stand there for six or so hours, go home, nap, then go to her night shift job. Easy as pie. She does her job well, and many
Who are you outside of the uniform?: Ashley currently has two jobs other than her security detail at the Carl Gray Home. Desperately wanting to go to college, she is saving up all she can to get an actual degree. Her diet consists of mostly mcdonalds french fries and black coffee, and it's a wonder how she's still alive and so muscly. Ash boxes in her spare time, and when she is home, likes watchng football for the violence.
Any love interests?: Ash thinks Jane is ...interesting to watch. (Jane is played by Twin Fantasy Twin Fantasy )
Anything else we should know?: Ash has the personality of a brick. She does not speak unless spoken to, and is always the first one in the building in the morning. She makes the damn best coffee the Home's coffeemaker can do, and drinks half the pot just herself. How she doesn't fall asleep during work is an enigma, and her stare is one to be reckoned with. But, if you do get to know her, she's a gentle giant.

Name: Daniel August Moore
Age: 30
Brief description of looks: Daniel is fairly tall, around 6'4", with chocolate brown hair that always seems a bit disheveled. He has dark brown eyes and a light stubble across his jaw. His skin is lightly tanned...
05fa983722d7f0a2dc2e5ab696a922aa.jpg
How did you get to be a Security Officer here? (background): Daniel knew he wanted to be a police officer since he was a little boy. His father had been in the military and died in action, and was his role model from a very young age. He worked his butt off to live up to that legacy, but his mother was never too supportive of the decision. She just didn't want to see her "little boy" get hurt. Still, he stayed out of trouble, and when he was done with school he joined the academy at 22. He learned the hard way that being an officer was tough. While on patrol, he pulled over someone he had guessed to be a drunk driver. When he approached their car, he could see a couple of bottles on the seat through their front window. He got them out of the car, and as soon as he did, they pulled a gun on him, in a sort of drunken craze. In a flash, Daniel pulled out his own gun and the man across from him was lying on the pavement, blood seeping from the new hole in his shoulder. Danny got the man into his car to take him to the hospital, but on their way, the bleeding man reached out, probably in some desperate attempt to help himself, and he snagged the steering wheel, steering the car straight off the road. After the accident, the other man died, and Daniel was left with a permanent limp due to muscular damage in his right knee. Daniel couldn't go back to work after that. He lost his job and was a mess until his 24th birthday. His mom came up and gave him a 'pep talk', showing support for her son for the first time in his life. Still, he couldn't return to the police force and instead looked for work in security. After a long search, he landed a job at the Carl Grey House. He doesn't love his job, but he's grateful for it and works well with the patients.
Who are you outside of the uniform? (skills, hobbies, etc.): Daniel is the kind of guy who always wants to feel needed or helpful. He does his best at everything he does because he learned to be grateful just for life. Still, he's a bit haunted by his police days, blaming himself for the death of that man in his background. He still tries to be optimistic and open, but when he has down days, he is really d o w n. Daniel is naturally curious and is an avid reader, as well as an observer of life. Often, he can be found just watching life around the House. Everything interests him, and he is almost hyper-aware of his surroundings at all times. Some people might see it as nosiness. He also plays the piano, just as a side thing, and is a pretty good cook. When he needs to, or he feels 'threatened', he'll put on a tough guy exterior and can be rather cold.
Any love interests?: (TBD)
Anything else we should know?: He is a sucker for a good sandwich... not sure why I felt like that needed to be said...

Patients
Patient: Allison Jane Laurence
Age: 22
Appearance: She looks delicate and thin. Her skin is extremely pale and made to look more so by her dark hair and eyes. She is about 5'3" and a majority of her torso and legs are covered in scars or small burn marks, along with some on her arms, one scar on her cheek, and one down the back if her neck.
In Her Case File: Allison lived a good life until her 15th birthday. She was happy and sane, just the way a young girl should be. To celebrate the birthday, her friends and he went out to a movie. Some time had passed and Allison offered to get a refill on the popcorn as she wasn't entirely thrilled with the movie. It was on her way to the conversion stand that a man pulled her aside. He told her he worked for a modeling agency as a scout, and though he was off duty at the moment, he had been so compelled by her beauty that he had to speak to her. Embarrassed, but also thrilled at being complimented by this man, the 15-year-old girl had fallen for the trap. When he offered to give her his card if she would just follow him out to his car so he could get it, she didn't hesitate. As many could have guessed, this man wasn't a modeling scout, nor was he a good man. He knocked her unconscious, forced her into his car, and drove off. It was six years until anyone but him saw Allison again.
He held her captive in his summer home near the mountains. There, she was kept in darkness. Every day was either silence and blindness, or pure agony. He tortured her with whatever means he thought might be fun that day. Controlled electricity, water-boarding, pulling nails. He'd sexually abused her as well, as if to top it all off. This continued for years. The sheer trauma that came with the endless torment.
The daily abuse and mind-numbing pain broke her. As a sort of backward-coping method, her brain divided her into 3 parts. The girl she wanted to be, the one she could never let go of, and the one who he made her into. Kindness, fear, and numb vengeance. That's who she was when her parents finally got her back. The police had found him shoplifting, and while in custody, he somehow let on that he had someone he had to get back to and the general location of his summer home. Worried that the man might have left a pet or child at his home which would need to be looked after, an officer checked searched his records and found the address to a home in the area the man had described. When he got there, it was silent, so he knocked on the door, then a piercing scream sent him busting it down. He searched the house for a bit before finding Allison. She had been curled in a ball, unclothed, her body covered in old and new scars and burns. She was a mess when he tried to help and wouldn't let him even put his coat over her. He called for a paramedic and they sedated her before taking her to the hospital, as she would have injured herself or the paramedics in her manic state. When she woke up a few days later, her parents had identified her and she was Allison once again. She was perfect for a short while, and now that she had been rejuvenated a bit, the hospital allowed her parents to take her home. Then, the officer from before came over to ask her a few questions about her case. She suddenly became, well, a different girl. She started screaming and launched herself at him, attempting to scratch or hit or maim him in some way. Instead, she fell and hit her head, falling unconscious once more. They took her back to the hospital, for both the head and for her... Break down. When she came to she wouldn't let the nurses touch her, not her parents, and she screamed if anyone came into the room. They had to strap her to the hospital bed to protect the staff and her. It was a few days before Allison came back, but by then they had had someone from the local mental health center check on her. They diagnosed her immediately and her parents agreed to have her installed in an institution. For everyone's sake. There, the doctors named her other two personalities, Jane and A.J., just for simplicity when speaking about her condition. No matter what they tried, however, her status never improved in the slightest.
Mental Health Problems: Dissociative identity disorder (multiple personality disorder) Allison has three distinctly different personalities inside her head. Allison- the sweet, couldn't-hurt-a-fly, soft-spoken girl. Jane- the paranoid, erratic, emotional wreck. A.J.- The volatile, and violently aggressive. Triggers for her other personalities are anything related to her past. Sometimes a sharp object will strike a memory of her time being held captive and other times it could just be a name or someone who might resemble her captor in the slightest. Often times, she will have a nightmare about her past and wake up as Jane or A.J. Knives, broken glass, mention of the kidnapping or life before the Carl Grey Home, loud yelling or screaming (sometimes), sometimes even just seeing one of her scars, though if someone distracts her she might not recognize the connection. It is also completely random which one will express as they both come from the same old memories.
Personality: In this girl, you will find a heart of gold. She is generous and kind. Sweetness radiates from her and she is soft spoken and gentle. Allison is very friendly and happy, plus she loves to laugh. She will pretty much talk to anyone who will talk back. Although various doctors have tried to convince her of the presence of her other personalities, Allison remains oblivious to them, as she is so entrenched in denial she can't see the truth. She is never angry, and never raises her voice. Jane is different. Jane is the girl who was tortured for years by a psychopath to the point where Allison's brain hid her away. Jane never smiles and the only laughter she could make would be out of a sort of manic fear or sadness. She is locked in a perpetual state of paranoia. She doesn't trust anyone, can't think rationally, and hardly comprehends anything told to her. Her paranoia also attributes to her erratic behavior and she never seems to be able to sit still. Jane likes to be alone, partly due to her trust problem, and can often be seen talking to herself in the corner. Jane knows about the other personalities. She knows them and doesn't trust them either. Every therapist or doctor has a different theory on why that is, but Jane is too far gone for any solution to fix that. A.J. never talks. She is cold and cruel without even opening her mouth. If she is opening her mouth, its likely to scream as that's the only thing vocal she does. The girl is volatile and violent. This uncontrollability often lands her in a padded cell. A.J. is what happened when Allison's emotions were pushed until they snapped in two uneven parts. Now, A.J. is here and has none, while Jane has too many and Allison has the perfect amount. I guess you could say that Allison is perfect. It's the other two you might have to watch out for.
Any love interests?: (Currently no, but it could happen if someone wants to. She's heterosexual.)
In the Carl Grey Home: Allison loves it here. She doesn't exactly know why she is here, but she enjoys her time. She loves puzzles and is a talented painter. She likes to be around people and be a part of things, even if her other personalities don't. As Allison, she is pretty complacent and is good about doing what the staff says. Because of her other parts, she isn't everyone's favorite person to be around though as she might make them nervous if she was to shift suddenly.
Anything Else?: Allison herself doesn't remember being kidnapped, as the memories have been blocked off and pushed to her other personalities, so if you mention it at all it will just trigger one of the other sides to come out and play. When she switches personalities, there isn't any real sign that it is happening other than the sudden change in how she's acting and she might get a faint headache.

Name: Claire Blackledge
Age: 21
Brief description of looks: Her skin is pale, resembling a blank sheet of paper, and it hasn't seen sunlight in far too long. Her face is freckled and sharp, with high cheekbones and a thin jawline. Her eyes are deep grey, like they sky just after a thunderstorm, a storm that is visible behind her eye lids. They're distant and unfocused, yet thoughtful. Claire has mahogany hair, cut short and out of her face. She's tall and slender, but walks slightly hunched over, as if there is a massive weight on her shoulders.
View attachment 534577
The last known photo taken of Claire, at age nineteen.
Case File/Background: When Claire was seven, she began to exhibit strange and unprecedented behavior. She would suddenly and without warning become irritable, or lose control of herself. Her parents were concerned, and she saw multiple doctors, who diagnosed her with Dissociative Identity Disorder. She filled several journals with dark conversations between her alternate personalities, a pretty much unheard of activity for people with her condition.
When she was eight, she killed her parents. Of course, there was never any proof, never any hard evidence that the girl was the one who held the weapon and squeezed the trigger. When the police arrived, they were baffled at the oddity of the situation. Claire's parents were sprawled out on the floor in their individual pools of blood, their young daughter seated next to them . . . just staring. No tears glistened in her eyes, no desperate, lonely wails escaped her lips. The police questioned her, searching for any hope of a lead regarding her parent's murders. They asked her who hurt her mother and father, why anyone may have wanted to hurt them. To the best of her knowledge, were they involved in anything dangerous? Did they act differently than usual? "It was Bella," she offered simply, and gestured to a picture, drawn with brightly colored crayons. "It was time for them to sleep." Needless to say, placing her into the hospital wasn't a highly debated decision.
Personality and Hobbies: They're split into the different personalities, who are only aware of each other in a limited way. They do not share memories for the most part, but can access some emotions of the other. Claire does not behave like the majority of people with a similar disorder, possibly do to her past. She switches personalities quickly and without warning, often multiple times in just a couple of days. They communicate by writing a message while they're in control, a stranger's word written in their own hand.
CLAIRE
Claire is quite the artist, dissolving into her unstable mind for days at a time, creating intricate pictures that make sense to no one but herself. She is haunted by memories of her parents and suffers from frequent nightmares regarding their death. The resents herself and her other personalities, and blames no one but herself for the deaths of her parents. She suffers from severe depression, but isn't fully aware of it, viewing it as a well-deserved punishment.
However, despite that, she is a fundamentally kind person. Before her parent's deaths, she was always cheerful when she was 'herself', which was most of the time. She wasn't as unstable as she is in her current condition, always up for conversation and open to forming new friendships. The nurses adore her, much to Belladonna's disapproval, and on good days she can be downright pleasant.
BELLADONNA
Belladonna's mind is a dark place. Filled with daydreams and fantasies of death, of torture. Her 'sister'/alternate personality and her silly little moral battles amuse her, and she felt no remorse when she squeezed Claire's fingers around a trigger and sent a bullet into the bodies of their parents. She enjoys torturing her other personalities, and is known for deceiving the nurses into doing all sorts of things. She's uncannily persuasive, even seductive, and clever in the ways that she harnesses that ability.
IVY
Ivy is secretive and shy, rarely engaging in the pointless exchanges between her other personalities. When she's in control, she rarely speaks or moves, just sits in silence. It was her that was left with her dead parents, and her alone that bears the memories of their bodies lifeless on the floor. On top of DID, this 'version' of her has severe anxiety issues and is prone to having panic attacks in stressful situations.
In spite of this, she's deeply loving and compassionate, and quite the opposite of Belladonna. In the months before her parent's sudden death, she was always ready to extend a helping hand. She takes great joy in assisting those in need, and the hospital is a place she feels at home, sometimes even escaping her room and helping the nurses with their duties. She's taken a special liking to one of them, though she would never dare to tell the others--they'd only laugh.
How has their stay been?: Claire likes it. She's accepted her future here, and knows it's unlikely she'll ever be released to the real world. Treated well, she doesn't see any legitimate reason to hate it like she knows some do. She doesn't choose to interact with the other residents and sometimes refuses to leave her room, but likes the nurses and will talk to them on good days.
As for Belladonna, she adores it. Tricks and bribery are her favorite pastimes, and this is the ideal place for such things. The nurses are not particularly intelligent, and she's fairly certain she's far superior to them. Particularly the male employees--they're easily mislead. Her smooth tongue has many times convinced them to do completely unprecedented and downright insane things, and she takes amusement in watching them obey. She's also rather addicted to alcohol, and the nurses are more often than not easily persuaded to bring her as much as she wants.
Ivy, unlike Claire and Belladonna, loves it there. She adores the nurses like they do her, even though she's unaware of how they see her. She's innocent and childish, traumatized from her parent's death and a bit screwed up mentally. Often assisting the nurses when her anxiety isn't particularly bad, she enjoys helping others and speaking to other patients who will allow it.
Any love interests?: In her own strange way, Belladonna is rather fond of Carnage. As for the others, not at the moment.
Anything else we should know?: TBA

Name: (Real name unknown)
Nickname: Carnage
Age: 23
Brief description of looks: Pale skin, 6”2, ginger hair.
What does it read in your case file? (background): The patient in question was found in a suburban home, a recently slaughtered family surrounding him. Police originally thought he was a victim, then it was quickly found out he killed this family and had killed many others. The police arrested him and when he only answered carnage when asked for his name, they ran his finger prints through the database. Nothing. Facial scanning. Dental records. Worldwide data bases. Nothing. This man had never existed. It was universally accepted that he would never leave the Carl Grey home. He had nowhere to go. Mental health issues: Sociopathy, ODD
How's your stay at the Carl Grey Home been? (skills, hobbies, etc.): He loves it there. He loves drawing inane and twisted things. He is quite the artist.
Any love interests?: TBD
Anything else we should know?:
-he bribes the nurses for cigarettes
-He loves bubblegum.

Name: Tim Hart
Age: 18
Brief description of looks: Tim is an insanely scrawny young man with bleached hair, a few tattoos, and a tall figure. Standing at 5'10, he tends to dress in lots of t-shirts and basketball shorts.

f7094817c2e7889d332a994cd5feb3f7--boy-hair-male-faces.jpg

What does it read in your case file?: Tim is an aggressive, crude person with a mild violent streak and kleptomaniac issues. He hates taking orders, and has a serious drug and alcohol problem, especially considering his age. He was raised in an abusive household and generally fended for himself in his Detroit apartment. Currently a big problem that's been tearing him down is an aggressive case of bulimia nervosa, which triggered from his obsession with resembling his favorite musician, Eminem. His parents don't give a shit about him, but a close friend of his decided to have him see a psychiatrist. It was decided the best thing to do would be to have him admitted, much to his chagrin. He's under strict watch to make sure he keeps his food down and doesn't destroy anything.
How's your stay at the Carl Gray Home been?: He absolutely loves music, especially hip-hop and rap. He writes a lot of songs by himself -- enough to fill out several pages.
Any love interests?: None. Most wards ban relationships between patients, and he's fine with that.
Anything else we should know?: He had a knife that's been confiscated by staff.

Name: Aaron Seymour Ollila
Age: 22
Brief description of looks: Aaron has large, droopy eyes with plump lips constantly pulled into a neutral or frowning look. He's fairly flat all around, except for his hips, which give him a pear shape he might have been okay with if not for his gender dysphoria. He came in with a buzzcut, but it's long overgrown.
What does it read in your case file?: Aaron has been diagnosed with gender dysphoria and PTSD, and as a child had conduct disorder. Also as a child, he would get into fights and even ran away, as well as committed multiple small scale crimes. He pled not guilty by reason of insanity in the murder of his father at the age of 18. He says that he came home late one night after running away and his father triggered his PTSD, brought on by a mugging during his time as a runaway, and he killed him. Not much is known about his life before the mental hospital beyond this. He has a brother who visits occasionally, and a mother currently in a mental hospital as well.
How's your stay at the Carl Gray Home been?: Aaron absolutely hates it here, and only vaguely attempts to cover it up sometimes. He's as social as the home requires, but spends most of his free time by himself, writing poems or letters, or, if he can, reading repair manuals. Recently, he's hesitantly picked up art as a hobby.

Name: Mark O'brian
Age: 20 male
Brief description of looks: 6'0, broad shoulders, black hair, blue eyes, a faint burn scar on his right temple
What does it read in your case file?: Mark came to the Carl Grey home when he was 12 years old, following the trauma of a car accident that killed his father leaving him the sole survivor of the wreck. It is believed that the trauma of losing his father to the car crash that ended with the vehicle sinking into a river, coupled with the head injury received in the wreck was what shattered Mark's psyche into a hallucination filled mess. He has been diagnosed with PTSD, depression, and schizophrenia coupled with an extreme fixation on chance and a self made dice block, complete with crude drawings. It seems to be used to help him decide what he wants to believe to be real or not but no clear reason has been established for why he uses it. Although it is unclear if the schizophrenia occurred earlier in his life as it was later noticed, partially by the faded burn scar located on his right temple, that he was being abused by his mother before the crash. While it was never confirmed by Mark himself, having suffered the mental break before the investigation started, Mark's mother took a plea deal for a reduced sentence. Mark is usually quite well mannered, unless he happens to be presented with sufficient enough hallucinations to become panicked, erratic, and hostile. Mark is quiet and mostly keeps to himself preferring his own company and the music he is allowed in his room to keep his mood pleasant as it has been shown to calm and relax him quite regularly. According to our records the music is from his father's collection, as it contains mostly classic rock from the 60's up through the 00's, his therapist has insisted that his helpful to his condition and thus it stays.
Personality: Mark is quiet, kind and very loyal, even with his hallucinations he tries his best to focus on reality and the people he cares for. He is a sweet, shy guy who wants to feel normal again, or as much as he can get with his condition. Although he has a hard time trusting that people will like him, given that he believes himself to be a freak and doesn't believe anyone would want to be friends with him, he intends to hold on to what little friends he can make for as long as he can. He enjoys showing people his music collection and telling them about all the songs he likes, all the lyrics, stories about the bands, and meanings behind the songs in an almost childlike way of showing his friends all his toys.
His feelings about Carl Grey house: He understands the reasons why he is there and it further solidifies his depression and hopeless feelings towards the fact that he will never be normal. So he doesn't hate it because he knows his stay is necessary but he wishes he could be somewhere else, someone else. Mark has never been able to hold any other patients to the same standard though, believing they are all more whole and entirely more fixable than him.
Any love interests?: (None currently but I'm happy to try with someone if they would like)
Anything else we should know?: the dice he uses is more like his guidance system rather than his actual emotions, so he could be feeling scared and paranoid but roll a smiling face and then feel obligated to put on a smile himself and try to feign being happy.

A couple of questions, if you don't mind.

(1) What is your preferred age range for characters?
(2) What sort of mental issues are you looking for?
(3) Ghosts. Yes or no? XD

A couple of questions, if you don't mind.

(1) What is your preferred age range for characters?
(2) What sort of mental issues are you looking for?
(3) Ghosts. Yes or no? XD
- Age range - please no kids running around so nothing younger than 18, preferably 20's. For the Warden, Assistant, Security, and Nurse characters preferably mid-late 20's at youngest up to 40's
- As for mental illness, I'll let everyone do what they're comfortable with! I've had people play multiple personalities, sociopaths, mutes, severe depression, etc. A big part of the character will have to be, what draws them to talk to others/is goign to create a bond to be able to play with multiple writers?
- No, no ghosts please lol

Patient: Allison Jane Laurence
Age: 22
Appearance: She looks delicate and thin. Her skin is extremely pale and made to look more so by her dark hair and eyes. She is about 5'3" and a majority of her torso and legs are covered in scars or small burn marks, along with some on her arms, one scar on her cheek, and one down the back if her neck.
0addfb0cffb8b19876202e3eecca1391.jpglarge.png

In Her Case File:
Bio: Allison lived a good life until her 15th birthday.

She can switch back to Allison in a snap if she is in a calm-ish situation, sometimes Jane or A.J. will just slip away like they were never there and suddenly your with an entirely different person.

CHARACTER: PATIENT
Name
: Claire Blackledge
Claire.jpg

"It was time for them to sleep."
Needless to say, placing her into the hospital wasn't a highly debated decision.

How has their stay been?:
Claire likes it.

Brief description of looks:
Ash's go to look for the Carl Gray Home would be her trademarked frizzy ponytail, no makeup, and sweatpants. The only thing darker then Ash's brown eyes are the deep purple eyebags underneath her eyelids. Despite looking ready to fall asleep at almost any moment, Ash is someone who looks untouchable. She's 6'2", has defined muscle, and a prominent resting bitch face.
Ashley FC
How did you get to be a Security Officer here?:
Ashley graduated highschool with no where to go, and no money to dream. She does her job well, and many
Who are you outside of the uniform?:
Ashley currently has two jobs other than her security detail at the Carl Gray Home.
Any love interests?:
Ash thinks Jane is ...interesting to watch. (Jane is played by Twin Fantasy Twin Fantasy )
Anything else we should know?:
Ash has the personality of a brick.

Facility Warden
Name: Miguel L. Collier
Age:
32
Brief description of looks:
Taller, imposing, with a very piercing stare Miguel stands at about 6'1" and has the physique of someone who probably goes to the gym everyday.
42a30ef7f7b5b786c5a8982646454eaa.jpg

How did you get to be the Warden at the Carl Gray Home? (background):
Miguel was always with his nose in a book, so when he went through college he was able to expedite his classes, sacrificing years of socializing and drinking/partying to graduate ahead of his class with a business administration degree in management.
(current attitude/motivation):
He's a year out from the divorce, and replaced a lack luster feeling of love for his ex-wife with the warmth of a drink and holding his own in the failing Carl Gray Home. He's determined to either close out this place on a bang or go out with a bang, which ever presents to screw over the people who shattered his dreams more.
Any accolades? (skills, hobbies, etc.):
He considers himself a concert pianist, trained for several years before and after college though he has horrible stage fright so he's never actually performed in a concert setting. There's a baby grand in the art wing of the building, when the night draws late he usually brushes up there. Miguel also moonlighted as a bar tender during a financially rough part of college, so he can whip up a great White Russian.
Any love interests?:
With his ex-wife out of the building, Miguel doesn't even think about love. Though he has found his eyes lingering a little too long on some people. The part that bothers him, they've been men. He's drinking more to deal with that though.
Anything else we should know?:
Miguel used to be a shining star in the Carl Gray Home.

((( Just included an overall character master post up where I used to have a bump! Let me know if you change anything for your character and I'll update it there. I just tend to like having one post to go and check everything out than trying to find it throughout the conversation.

Unfortunately, right now we are missing the Bios for the Assistant, one Nurse, and one Security. We can move along right now without the Nurse and other Security guard, but the assistant is fairly important. So dimensional dimensional you have another day to post, then I'm searching again.

Really want to get this story started, gonna give everyone some time to get their characters in before I lay out what the building is, where we're all coming into the story, and how the plot is running. Stay tuned!!! )))

Security
Name:
Daniel August Moore
(background):
Daniel knew he wanted to be a police officer since he was a little boy.
(skills, hobbies, etc.):
Daniel is the kind of guy who always wants to feel needed or helpful.

Again, let me know if something is wrong with him

Yay. RPN notifs failed me again. I think I’ll make some edits to the CS, and just tell me if I need to fix anything!

Nicole (Nikki) Angevin
Age:
26
Brief description of looks:
Nikki stands at about 5'1 with an average build and tanned skin. Her hair is brown and curled, and she can either come across as very authoritative or as almost like a little sister.
(skills, hobbies, etc):
Nikki attended pre-med and then went to medical school, focusing on pathology and psychiatry. She was then rejected for a neurology residency, and temporarily served as home health aide. She has a Bachelor's in Chemistry, and a Pre-Medical degree.
Nikki enjoys games such as chess, and frequents the Art Room. She can play basic piano.
Any love interests?:
Nikki is friendly with Ashley, a security guard, and is interested in getting to know Cardinal. She frequently checks in with Miguel, though he isn't really a love interest for her. (Played by GayGoggles GayGoggles , L LadyLuckTakeTheWheel , and SerianX13 SerianX13 )
Anything else we should know?:
Nikki tries her hardest to keeps things light, and comes across as incredibly positive though she has many of her own doubts and fears. She occasionally takes liking to a patient or two. Nikki is also allergic to walnuts.

(just tell me if I need to fix anything)

After an incident involving a hate crime perpetrated by a suffered of MPD, Nikki decided she wanted to pursue psychology to prevent any other crimes she possibly could. She got a job at Carl Grey due to it being understaffed at the time, and feels comfortable around the mentally ill.

The Carl Gray Home Grounds
The Carl Gray Home sits on acres of tucked away land, about five miles outside of the closest city and through surrounding woods to give it privacy. It consists of four floors and additional storage space on the fifth, with each floor dedicated to something different.
building 1.jpg
building 2.jpg

The first floor is made up of the front reception area for resident intake, hallways that lead off for employee lockers, and the main dining area. The employee lockers include showers and separate rooms for overnight stay in case of extended shifts. The dining hall is small, with the focus on group interaction and crowd control in mind. Currently the Carl Gray Home has two chefs still staffed that work in alternating shifts.

The second floor is dedicated soley to patients. This is where we find all patient rooms, the main nursing station, triage rooms, and any/all medical equipment needed. All floors are equipped elevators to move amongst the building, as well as all floors have access to medical supplies. This, and all other floors, are equipped to become lock down units. All glass throughout the building is shatter-proof and reinforced, all doors can be locked. Patient rooms are individual and can be completely bare, or with items as the residents are allowed. And yes, this is a restraint using facility.

This floor is also where we will find some group and individual therapy rooms.

The third floor is one of Miguel's pride and joys. This is the art and expression floor. Here, residents can enjoy artistic outlets including painting, drawing, music, etc. There is a library here, with more group and individual therapy sessions rooms near by.

Due to the unique architecture of the building, there is also an open air courtyard that runs in the middle of the third floor. In the winter it is closed off, but in the warmer months there are sitting areas and greens to be maintained. Miguel does not hire a gardener; either the staff will rotate duties for this area or he has found residents sometimes quite enjoy the responsibility preserving these gardens. All heavy planters are bolted into the concrete, the surrounding walls and access to rooftops have been fitted with backwards slanting tiles that cannot be traversed, the drain spout cannot tolerate climbing and is specifically designed to come apart with >80lbs of force, and there are no chemicals used in this area.

Lastly, the fourth floor. This area is all offices, rather boring. Miguel's office sits at one of the East facing corners and shares a wall with his Assistant's office. Each Nurse, therapist, and managerial staff member had a dedicated office up here at one point. Obviously, due to the failing state of the building and the decreased number of residents, the offices are slowly but surely becoming vacant. since Miguel has hired extremely qualified and intellectual Nurses, he has let them expand as they need to within the empty offices. Security as well is welcome to have offices up here since the main control room is on the far West corner of this floor. All areas except for toilets are video monitored and recorded, and this control room houses the video feeds. All employees have walkie talkies to communicate. There is an overhead paging system used only to announce important events for residents.

Now, some of these photos may look quite beautiful. Such a breath taking place! The fact that these photos were taken of the Carl Gray Home some years ago may help alleviate that wonder. The art room is stripped of many of its supplies, floors are dulled and in need of waxing, the library sofa and chairs are not as soft as they once were, and the countryard has a much smaller garden due to lack of interest. Where Miguel pushed for new mattresses, management pushed for repainting the exterior again. When Miguel asked for additional therapists to be hired on due to the need for more one on one treatment, they fired two chefs and hired an incompetent social worker 'To better assess if all these patients even need to be here'. This place has seen its fair share of under staffing issues and misappropriated funding. A once gorgeous facility, located inside of a historic 1800's hospital grounds, has been taken over by a dark cloud.
