"Checking Browser"

standard-issue human
Not sure if this has been brought up yet, or if it was in an update post, but for two nights in a row, Ive tried to log onto the site and Ive been unable to get on.

It happened around 7pm both nights, both on mobile and desktop. I use Chrome on both, tried clearing my cookies and such, even restarted my laptop. It acts like its going to redirect me, but just reloads the page. It looped for over an hour last night before I gave up.

If this is already being worked on or I just didnt read something, just ignore me ^^

It's not a bug or anything like that. Recently, we've been experiencing a lot of DDoS attacks. A few days ago, you might have noticed the site had several hours of downtime because of it. As such, this is tied to those events in an attempt to ward off those attacks. If you're unfamiliar with a DDoS Attack, it's essentialy a 'denial of service,' keeping the site too busy to let users on to the site.

So if I get this message, theres nothing wrong with my browser/computer, and I just have to wait it out?

Yep. c: It should redirect you in a few seconds automatically.

If it redirected to the site in a few seconds, I wouldve thought nothing of it. In fact when I first saw it, I thought "Oh hey, they must be protecting the site more, cool." But then.. last night it was refreshing as if it were going to the site, but I ended up still on that page. In a few seconds it would start again, but it would still be on that page.

So its trying to redirect me, but for some reason I get stuck. I had it open for a little over an hour last night but never reached the site.

And its only happened in the evening when Im at home.

Is there something going wrong on my end keeping me from accessing the site?

Did you try clearing your cache? It sounds like it might be getting stuck there. So far, you're the only one who has experienced a nonredirect but I'll ask. (:

I cleared it the first night, but wasn't able to get on after. Yesterday, I got on and was stuck in a loop for a while, cleared everything except saved passwords, restarted my laptop, but was given the same screen when I tried to get on again.

I've had a couple times where it didn't redirect (once it just timed out instead), but eventually it let me in.

If it doesn't redirect it means the site is down.

But the browser check mode has been offline for over a day now.
