Charity Brannon.jpg

Charity is chronically underweight, and looks like it. She is angular and flat-chested, and her bones tend to jut out a bit when she moves. She has long, thin blonde hair that she wears in chest-length twin tails, tied back, or loose. Her natural eye color is a distinctive very light blue, so she covers it up with purple contacts (trendy, or was at some point).

Her usual outfit consists of a flared, long-sleeved white dress that starts below her shoulders (made of a high-tech stain-resistant material), a white harness on her chest, knee-length white socks, and white athletic shoes. Charity believes the whiteness is a way of reclaiming the concept of "purity" that was forced on her at a young age.

Equipment Charity's harness doubles as a sort of utility "belt" she can clip things to. She carries around a tianium foldable knife, as well as a lighter and a variety of bottled poisons and accelerants (which she swears are aesthetic, or in some cases, art supplies). And cigarettes - she never smokes, but they make the lighters look less suspicious.

Personality Charity lives up to her name, but you probably wouldn't suspect it by first talking to her. She presents a snide and cynical persona to the world, almost a superiority complex, and indeed harbors a lot of spite that seems to bleed into relationships with people who have never harmed her. However, this is merely Charity's surface. She does care a great deal for the other "failures", although she's too bruised to express it verbally. Charity will be the first to take up the mantle of extra work, give someone some spare supplies, or if she really likes someone, give them a genuine gift or suffer to bring them an advantage. She also will keep nearly anyone's secrets safe. And if she doesn't like you? Expect nastiness; expect to be treated like you are lower than dirt.

Digging deeper, Charity is motivated out of anger at the powers that hurt her. If the right person asked, she'd say that to claw for revenge has given her life meaning. It doesn't quite end there, though. Charity has believed for a long time that her life is less valuable than others' due to events in her history. It makes her furious that she feels that way - internally, something just doesn't fit. She acts the way she does towards others because she doesn't want them to know how she feels.

Strengths

+Charity is skilled at setting fires, and carries around the materials necessary to do so.

+She's a convincing liar, and can often talk her way out of accusations of wrongdoing. She's still nasty and spiteful, but comes off more as an insolent kid than the dangerous criminal she is.

+She's very fast on her feet, especially if she knows the area. People who chase her on her turf can expect to lose her fairly quickly.

+Oddly enough, she's retained her skill at calligraphy and handwriting.

Weaknesses

-If she actually needs someone to like her, and the opportunity to do or give something doesn't present itself, Charity is going to have a bad time.

-She's terrible at hiding. That tall, awkward frame just doesn't fit into a lot of places.

-Charity has a bias towards people she finds attractive, no matter what their intentions actually are. This usually includes tall people with long hair and pretty features.

-The fastest way to ruin Charity is to play on her lack of self-worth. If one plays their cards right, they can convince her to make sacrifices others would consider unnecessary or even outright masochistic.

Likes

+To Charity, there's nothing like watching a fire burn, the bigger the better. It's not sensual, it's beautiful. Symbolic. She could go on.

+Good handwriting always catches Charity's eye. It's the attention to detail that counts.

+She's comforted by the ethereal noisy quality of witch house music.

+Her favorite drink is pineapple soda, and will be grateful to anyone who gives it to her.

Dislikes

-She greatly dislikes rainy weather, high humidity, or other wet conditions.

-Charity hates a sloppy job at... pretty much everything. She'll fly off the handle if she really feels like someone isn't trying.

-She hates the fact that she feels inferior and worthless. People can use it to take advantage of her, but also, it just really frustrates her.

-Lastly, the government upsets her for obvious reasons.

Habits/Quirks

+Charity dislikes silence. If there's no background noise, she'll clink her bottles together, tap her feet, or otherwise make her own.

+She has a habit of mouthing off and being abrasive with pretty much everyone.

+When she's bored, she makes lists. Lots of lists. They're written just for the sake of writing, and their subject matter ranges from "Descriptions of plants I saw today" to "Full scientific names of my chemicals" to "Things I hate about living here".

Fears

+Charity is terrified of people realizing her low self-worth.

+She's a huge insectophobe, particularly with moths, and will kill them on sight.

Bio

Charity grew up sheltered from the rest of the world, and the government, as the child of two rich chemists who wanted to preserve her "purity". This meant her innocence, her sense of wonder - a youth free of the scars the government and cruel reality tended to burn into people's minds. When they didn't keep her inside, they accompanied her to most places, homeschooling her to keep her from government propaganda (the Brannons were both the children of immigrants, and highly distrustful of this nation's government's role in the world's state of affairs). It worked for a while, and Charity stayed sweet and innocent, believing she'd grow up to make meaningful strides in the world with her knowledge of chemistry and physics.

It stopped working when the government came for her parents, needing to crush dissent against a dangerous but powerful new way to generate power. When Charity was 14, agents began conducting an investigation against the Brannons for the purpose of smearing and imprisoning them. Something snapped in Charity when that happened. She realized the world was not a good place, far later than she should've. She felt like a lesser, weaker being for being kept in the dark so long. Less worthy of life than those who had spent their lives suffering under the regime that was just now clawing at her life. The only thing she could think to do was set the house on fire while her parents were out - destroying evidence against them, but also taking her revenge on people who kept her pure. All she had to thank them for was knowledge of fire-causing reactions.

The authorities never found the culprit. Charity was considered an orphan, a ward of the state. She bounced from home to cruel home, occasionally setting small fires, but nothing big enough for charges. That would only come after she'd taken the immortality treatment and become free from all this, she figured.

That was when something important was burned to the ground, allowing Charity to escape and be with any other failure who'd managed to get out.

@Fluffykitty9000 she's finally finished! Tell me if anything doesn't work, especially the bio; I'm unclear on what exactly happens to "disappeared" 18-year-olds who fail the test, so Charity's history is a little vague there.

OK, she is fine except, at the beginning of this rp you are going to take the test and fail, (sorry if I made that unclear), so if you could just change up the ending of you bio slightly you will be fine! :D

(P.S my girl already took the test because she was going to be the Unknown individual mentioned in the description at the role play's homepage!)

Also, your weapons will be removed for the testing, but my girl will steal back any weapons or items that may be used as a weapon! (pocket knives, lighters, pistols, ect) ^_^ So, you do not have to change that part!

@Fluffykitty9000 I took out that part. Does it work now?

And just wondering, if characters start at the immortality treatment (that the main says they take at the age of 18), how do characters aged 16-17 start the story? (Not trying to be rude, but I am curious.)

Thanks =D, well to answer your question, the charters would not be able to be super young or old and very close to the age 18 or 19, since they would be forced to do it if they were older and if they were younger or super old  the result of the test would be instantly poisonous (which the government would never allow). You see at the ages 18 or 19 the chances of the test coming out successful is higher than any other age, and at the ages 16-17 the chances of becoming a Poisonous is slightly higher so the government will not force anyone to take the test at this age and will wait till they are slightly older, and only do the procedure on children of parents who are desperate to get the cure for their son or daughter or the person (if they have no parents) is desperate to get the cure with their own free will. ( this cost money though because of the risk). Hope that clears it up for you. =P

@Mollisol, if your character were to interact to a gender based on your sexuality would you like them to be male or female? (confused on which to chose due to her being Bisexual)
