  Lon Fa's hair is dark brown, resembling both of her parents. However, her hair is on the thicker side, and is naturally curly. She often keeps her hair in protective braids/styles to aid her when training.

    Lon Fa has always been described as a force to be reckoned with. She says what's on her mind, follows her heart, and is never one to healthily accept failure. She doesn't like to show it, but both of her parents and their opinions of her mean quite a lot to her, making it imperative that she doesn't disappoint. She is competitive, confident, and occasionally loves a good fight. What she doesn't love, is the feeling of failure. Whether it is her own opinion or someone else's, her own pride will nearly make it impossible for her to give up on something.

  What is your character's favorite season?
  Summer. She enjoys the weather that comes with it, along with the freedom it provides her.
  
  
  Does your character have a particular view on what has been happening in their respective nation?
  Lon Fa knows her mother is fit for the job, but she does worry occasionally if her deep concern and dependency on the Avatar will be her downfall. She appreciates the help of the Northern Tribe, along with the help of her mother's old friends, but she wonders if the culture of the Southern tribes that she was taught by her mother would completely disappear. Either way, Lon Fa was always raised to embrace different cultures, and she still saw it that way. Change would only bring improvement and the betterment of their people.
  
  View on the Fire Nation?
  The Fire Nation is a sore subject in her household, to say the least. Lon Fa's father always had.. choice words about them. However, he has always made it a point to appreciate their efforts, yet remain vigilant. Her mother tries to maintain an air of civility when the topic is brought up, despite her father’s passionate opinions. Lon Fa is wary of the older generations of the Fire Nation, but she sees their continuous steps towards bettering the world, and she admires them for it. Especially since her father told her stories of what the Empire used to stand for. Knowing this, she wants to become strong enough to prevent anything like that from happening again.
  
  View on the Avatar?
  Lon Fa has heard many a tale of the great Avatar through her mother. To her, he is a bit of a daunting, mystical being. Almost like a fairy tale. As she grew older, she always suspected that he was someone special to her mother, besides being what she believes is the answer to the World's problems. She never pushed too much, though, because her father almost always shut down the conversation when it lasted a little too long. Not to mention, the topic of the Avatar almost always made her dad stiffen, an air of tension always arising between her two parents. It was a feeling she tried to avoid whenever she could help it.
  
  View on their respective canon parents?
  Lon Fa loves and respects both of her parents very much. Her father, teaching her everything she knows, means quite a deal to her. She cherishes the days they are happy with each other, and tries her best to set every day up to avoid the unrelenting, bitter arguments that always ensue.
  
  Her mother, Katara, is a force to be reckoned with. Burdened with knowledge and a past full of adventure Lon Fa can only dream of coming close to having. Lon Fa is thankful for her mother, and her efforts to keep the family's hope alive. However, Lon Fa could never truly get close to her mother. She always felt far away, and they couldn't find very many commonalities.
  
  Jet was a different story. Lon Fa and her father had shared quite the similar spark, and still do. Lon Fa respects her father, seeing him as a mentor and a complicated man. But she far easily leans on her father for advice, finding it easier to talk to him on his good days than her mother.
  
  
  What is their biggest fear?
  Love. Commitment. Anything revolving fully opening up and becoming completely vulnerable to someone.

  Katara

  Ever since Lon Fa was a child, she and Katara could never quite see eye-to-eye. Their personalities differed so much, that it almost startled the young mother. It did not deter Katara, though. She remained a steady resource of love and affection through the years, always keeping an eye on Lon Fa’s training sessions with Jet. Katara badly wants to be able to have a stronger bond with Lon Fa, but her daughter finds it hard to even begin to reach out.

  Jet

  Jet is an enigma to Lon Fa. She admired his tenacity, strong emotions, and ability to rise up from what others have described as dire circumstances. His newfound values have helped shaped Lon Fa’s morals, as he spent most of his days assuring her of how important it was to bring good to the world. However, her father was not always the same man she admired. There were darker days, where he wouldn’t ever leave his room. Days where his brown eyes never fully looked alive. Lon Fa tried to do anything she could to avoid those reactions, but it was impossible. So, instead, she does her best to make the most of the good days, spending lots of her time with him.

  Mostly TBD, but Lon Fa would certainly be quite the sibling to have. She's very competitive, and hungry for time with her father. Lon Fa would be very protective of her sibling, but wouldn't make their life easy by any means.

  the first part of life

  Lon Fa was born just a year after her older brother, an unexpected surprise that the two parents hoped would bring some peace to their tumultuous relationship. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case. Not that her parents didn't try, but Lon Fa's personality started off so strong, very similar to her father. This led to her mostly leaning on him for support, asking him most of the questions that lingered in her mind, and wanting to spend more time with him in general. It helped that Katara was often either tending to The Avatar, or her duties as Chieftain.
  
  Despite her and her father bonding so easily, it did not take away the unresolved trauma that Jet had yet to healthily face. There were many nights where young Lon Fa would hear her father scream out in pain from his night terrors, trying her best to comfort her in any way a young child would know how. Unfortunately, Lon Fa's brother had to step in many of these nights, while Katara tended to Jet, and later comfort an ever-worried Lon Fa. These were their few moments of alone time, often spent with her brother and mother outside, under the night sky. Because of this trauma Jet faced, there were even days where he wasn't fully with the family mentally. His gaze often empty and solemn. It left a heavy pit deep within Lon Fa's heart, so much to the point that she studied her own actions, the weather, how she and her family spoke to see if they would have any affect on his mood. Anything to get him to be better again.
  
  The mood swings and night terrors were confusing at first, but Lon Fa caught on rather quick, no longer wanting to be a burden for her mother and brother. Instead, she chose to focus on the days where he felt better, doing her best to make him proud and be there for him if he ever needed it.
  

  halfway through it all

  Because of this drive to make her father happy, and to heal, she was more than happy to take on training when her father offered it. It started out as simple hand-to-hand combat, but it was quickly clear that Lon Fa was eager, and a quick learner at that. Because of this, Jet began to teach her all he knew through the years, starting at age 9. Katara was extremely against the idea of either of her children learning the ways of combat, but decided it would be up to her children on whether or not they wanted to continue. Their mother always spectated and/or inspected their wounds if they ever got any. This, unfortunately was one of the many subjects of heated arguments for the couple.
  
  Lon Fa didn't like the arguing, but she loved seeing her father smile, and the feeling of pride that would swell in her chest once she realized that she naturally could pick up most things her dad threw at her. So, even on days that he wanted her to take a break, she never did. Of course, there were days where this caught up to her, but she managed to hide it well from her parents. Her brother... well, not so much.
  
  At the (much older than average) age of 14, however, she discovered that she could water bend. This was discovered much later than her older brother, and the family had already assumed that she was a non bender. A part of Lon Fe secretly wished she had been. Katara was thrilled at the news, hoping to use this as a chance to bond with her only daughter.
  
  The lessons were sparse, due to the large workload of being Chieftain, not to mention the ever-growing frustration Lon Fe felt. Water bending, unlike any of the non bending skills she had learned over the years, was not easy. In fact, it was so difficult, and not immediately grasped, that Lon Fe nearly gave up entirely on it. She knew she would never be as good as her brother, nor her mother. It was pointless. Why bother when all she would do was disappoint?
  
  If it wasn't for her pride, she would have stopped bending entirely.
  

  what happens next?

  After three years, with the help of her brother and mother, her bending skills had improved slightly. However, Lon Fa's reluctance and irritability towards the learning process (which is typically very unlike her), made her slow to healthily progress in bending techniques. Her hand-to-hand combat, and swordsmanship, however, improved greatly, nearly knocking the wind out of her dad from time to time.
  
  Being at home all her life, and hearing stories from family and family friends, Lon Fa is ready to see more of the world. She has been increasingly curious about the other nations, and how they have developed compared to her home in the South.

  : Light green eyes and bright ginger hair are usually the features that people notice at first glance. The striking resemblance to his mother is what tends to linger in people's minds.   Having stubborn royals for parents, Samuel learned quickly from a young age that it was important to always stick to what you know is right, rather than what is easy. That meant resisting temptation and following the guiding words of both his mother and father. Being the next in line in his kingdom, he often feels a sense of responsibility to keep himself useful, working hard to live up to the many tales of both of his rather adventurous parents. He enjoys the challenge, though, and is rather confident in himself and his ability to surpass any expectation thrown his way.
  
  When he was younger, some would call him prideful, others overconfident and spoiled. Regardless, Sam holds the fiery passion that runs in his family’s blood. This would often beckon Samuel to venture farther than many would deem safe. Why be a ruler of the people of all you do is sit inside and do nothing? It was a frequent topic of discourse in the palace halls. This passion is exactly what beckoned him to push himself towards an event that would change him indefinitely.
  
  Here describes a common story of a prideful prince who values the bold, and is extremely family-centric. Unlike his grandfather, Ariel was extremely open about her life in the ocean, and the large family that lived in the depths. Unity and openness meant frequent visits out in the ocean, which was made possible thanks to his powers given to him by his ancestors before him. Before a dire accident that changed everything, he lived for the days that he got to spend time with his extended family and friends in Atlantica. Extroverted, curious, and adventurous, there wasn't a corner of the sea he wanted to leave unseen.
  
  After the accident, Samuel become much more reserved. Adventurous spirit melded into skepticism, and pride shifted to shame. Now, he retains his curious spirit, but prefers satiating it with a good book or hearing tales from the staff in the castle. The same need to be enough for his parents is now stronger than ever, despite their warmth and understanding after the incident.

  powers/abilities: Thanks to his mother, Samuel has the ability to swim in the sea as a mermaid. Whenever his skin makes contact with oceanic waters (only salt, not freshwater), a power that he no longer wishes to use. He is able to speak to sea creatures, and breathe underwater with ease. When he leaves the ocean, he returns to his bare human form. When it comes to practical abilities, a history of sailing and non-stop swimming has allowed him to have high strength and dexterity. • BACKGROUND

  
  

  Born the first son of the young royals of the Tirulian Kingdom, Samuel was showered in love, gifts, and responsibility. From a young age, he learned of his family out at sea, and his father's grand adventures out in the great unknown. Charms of shells and glass beads adorned him always, bright green eyes ever-curious of the kingdom he would soon be tasked to rule. However, at the age of three, Sam was given a baby sister during a harsh winter storm. Taking after their father, she bore raven hued locks and bright blue eyes that stole the heart of everyone she met. What she took from her mother lied within, same as Samuel. Their affinity to the sea and the creatures that inhabited it held no coincidence, for it was a telltale sign of their shapeshifting abilities. Life for Sam was a fighting balance of the land and sea, often visiting his extended family in Atlantica, and making new friends there along the way.
  
  The siblings grew up with a close bond, despite their growing differences the older they became. Samuel was the perfect son, the ideal heir; Sophie was not. Burdened with responsibility, and constantly in the limelight, Samuel thrived in the attention of others. He craved the adventure of a brave King, whilst Sophie cherished the shadows of being second-best. Together, they learned about the deep sea, and creatures that lie within it, thanks to tales from their relatives in Atlantica and books in the Kingdom Library. Despite their differences, they had a common goal: explore the unknown. This dream was not shared for long, thanks to Samuel's desire to impress his parents. Sophie kept digging, whilst Samuel buried. He would implore her to stop before she did something she would regret, yet he could never quite peel his gaze away from the priceless artifacts and scrolls she would obtain from her own explorations at such a young age.
  
  Sophie knew the true nature of her brother, and it was because of this that they began to butt heads. Why was he denying himself of being free? It was a question that Samuel himself did not have the luxury to ask himself, even if he wanted to. So, as pre-teens, they were frequently distanced from each other unless it was requested of them to be near for appearances. It left their mother in disarray, since she thought she raised her children to cherish their own family.
  
  When Samuel was 19, he could hear his nimble sister attempting to sneak out. looking determined. The sight startled him, yet left him curious. It was a lightless night, and she had nothing on her person besides a bag stuffed with clothes. He knew that she was venturing out to sea, but why?
  
  His own fear for his sister and building curiosity willed him to hastily follow her, to her dismay.
  
  The rest, for Samuel, is a blur. He raced her to the sea, swam the pitch black ocean with his younger sister, and let her lead the way. She insisted that the artifact she was searching for was priceless, guarded by an ever-wise creature of the deep. The notion sparked even more inquiries, despite the nagging feeling deep in his gut.
  
  Suddenly, Sophie's inspired gaze widened as a cloud of red blurred Samuel's vision in the water. Samuel hastily reached out and wrapped his arms around his sister, swimming as fast as he could back to the safety of Tirulia. In his attempt to escape, a sharp, poisoned stinger pierced his back, dragging a mark along it whilst Samuel escaped with his baby sister.
  
  Hallucinogenic poison and a dead sister left Sam hysterical, having to cope with the death of his 16 year old sister, coupled with the bottomless pit of guilt that consumed him. A young man who was once the life of the party, and an adventurer at heart, became cold and reserved. Days and nights, he spent his time alone either in his room or the library that his sister would often hide in.
  
  It took years, but eventually he learned to cope in his own way. However, his parents were still concerned by his change in demeanor, and implored him to go back to the academy. Sam was not pleased, but he knew his parents did not ask much of him, and he at least owed them this.

  Keiji's blood demon art ability involves him being able to touch any animate or inanimate object, and see its history. If he touches a human, he will learn their past in an instant. He'll know their name, age, family, etc. If he touches an inanimate object, he will see its timeline from how it was created all the way until it ended up in his hands. This power does not work on demons, and if a human has a particularly strong constitution, they can resist his powers, but he has only met one person who managed to be successful in this. Otherwise, another weakness is that he cannot read a human's thoughts. He can only see into their memories in a third person point of view.
  
  If one knew his life as a human, they could gather that this power derives from insatiable need to know and learn about anything and everything. Keiji has already gathered this, and finds the power quite useful. Although he'd be lying if he said he didn't miss the thrill of discovering something slowly.

    Most demons nowadays find Keiji to be quite a bore. He simply enjoys reading, maintaining his library, and running his speakeasy. Glass teacups filled with chamomile and a human blood infusion to keep his hunger at bay, and a good alcoholic beverage will but him in a good mood. Not necessarily together, of course. He enjoys fine art, and going to museums and showings. He enjoys music, especially playing instruments. Thanks to his blood demon art, he absolutely loves record-keeping and expanding his collection of all kinds of artifacts.

    The rather brutish nature of violent demons always will leave him displeased. Despite the fact that he himself used to be that way, he sees them as wild animals. He also dislikes ignorance, and closed-mindedness. Crude behavior will also set him off, especially if it occurs on his very own property. With as much time as he has had, it wasn't too difficult for him. He is also quite the painter, preferring to use oil based paints. It was a pastime he used to keep the memory of his fallen family in his memory. However, even a demon as affluent as he still has to work hard to remember the faces of his past. If it weren't for the captions he has given each piece, they would mean nothing to him.

  Keiji is a lover of the arts, and of elegance. He had this love ever since he was a human. He also has a craving for knowledge that is nearly more intense and insatiable than his bloodlust. A polite man, he is accepting of all that simply follow order and respect his possessions. He is also rather helpful to those he deems worthy. It is why he has declared his property neutral grounds.
  
  Despite his helpful nature, Keiji is a rather reclusive man, preferring to be alone to tend to his artifacts and records by himself. He is intensely observant and curious, always listening with his supernatural hearing. However, most conversations nowadays never catch his interest. Once he finds interest in something, though, he becomes quite determined to know however much he can about whatever topic may be spoken of in that moment.
  
  He is incredibly rigid, and critical of others. Having a life full of determining what was good enough and bad enough to buy and sell definitely changes a man's outlook on all kinds of facets in life. Overall, he is calculating, polished, and poised. He enjoys the finer things in life and does his best to know everything there is to know. The day that this happens, though, he is sure he would let the sun burn him alive, for what else does he have to live for?

  a merchant and his son

  Keiji was born during the beginnings of a period of cultural prosperity, with people ruling who would do almost anything to keep that peace alive. He was the eldest son of a merchant, a lowerclassmen that did his best to make ends meet despite the country's unwillingness to open sea travel. Because of these restrictions, Keiji and his father were willed to move to the city that would be later known as Tokyo. His father often took odd jobs, and Keiji would assist. Mostly delivery jobs with recurring clients, whom Keiji did his best not to speak to unless addressed directly.
  
  This was quite difficult for the young man, especially as he grew older. Keiji loved to learn, and always had a curious mind about.. well, anything. Being the son of a merchant meant that he did not have access to very much knowledge. So, he tried to eavesdrop and learn from the higher-paying clients. During his teen years, he learned of underground markets, where he could purchase American books that could have the government put him to death. The pursuit of knowledge overrode his desire for safety. In fact, he learned as much as humanly possible. He kept illegal books filled with everything from folklore to history books under floorboards, making more and more money thanks to his father setting up an art delivery service in the city.
  

  halfway through it all

  This business boomed, thanks to their decision to focus on transporting art and selling it. The cultural boom in Japan fueled this prosperity, allowing Keiji to take over the family business once he was 24 years old. His father remained well off, and so did Keiji. The Ikari name became renowned for luxury and artistic prowess. This reputation allowed Keiji to meet an artist, and grow a family with her. With two children, and a third on the way, things were only looking up for the growing family.
  
  That was, until Keiji was confronted with the truth about his father's endeavors. It turns out, that his father had made a deal with a rather powerful demon in the city to gain money fast. And now that his own grandchildren were alive, it was time to pay his dues.
  
  What was once a peaceful, quiet night in his home turned into screams, blood-covered tapestries and hauntingly fearful gazes that simply stared back at Keiji, who was supposed to be their protector. Alas, the demon came and went, leaving the former father of three with nothing but a reminder of his own failure. The eradication of his new family only left him with a desire to learn about what ruined his future. Revenge and grief sunk into his bones, fueling him like a lifeless machine. This is how he learned of demons, and their immortal nature. Their lust for human flesh.
  
  He felt disgusting for it, but he was jealous of them. Their power, immortality. Ability to have limitless knowledge, mostly first-hand on history and what is to come. Despite them being the reason for his family's demise, he still felt the pain-staking need to know. It was all he had left. Nothing else gave him any sort of fulfillment. And, if he could gain power to kill the son of a bitch that massacred his wife and children, he would take that chance.
  
  So, he set out hoping to becoming a demon. And, after learning the nature of demons over the years, whilst running his business, he learned very quickly that he had many clients that could very easily be demons living amongst humans. They were rich, living lavishly whilst profiting off of their prey's artwork. It was curious to Keiji, but it made sense all the same. And so, he confronted a long-time client of his, one he delivered to since he was a child and hadn't aged a day. It was then that he asked for the key to immortality.
  
  It took many briberies, and nearly begging the prideful client to give in, but miraculously, he did.
  

  what happens next?

  At the age of 34, Keiji became immortal. He lived for hundreds of years, exploring, killing, learning. He always maintained an air of tastefulness, and always had a heavy cloud of guilt hanging over him that left other demons annoyed of him. This persisted for about a hundred years, until he simply became a politely-mannered man, focused on the pursuit of knowledge, and no longer needing violence to distract him from the ache in his heart.
  
  Today, he owns a rather large library that is open to the public, with an underground speakeasy for demons and demon slayers alike named The Black Tiger. A bit on the nose, but he simply didn't feel like changing the name once so many years had passed. He only has a few rules for his elegant club, one of them being absolutely, no killing on his property. He treats his library and speakeasy as a neutral zone amidst the bloodshed of the current world. Everyone has respected those wishes so far, due to Keiji's clearly older age and strict ideals. Many demons and humans alike can sense his strength and haven't felt the need to push his buttons.

  Living in the shadow of potential, Nea has constantly hung onto the feeling of ambition. Needing to be the best at what she does runs through her veins, and she will not stop to achieve this lifelong goal. Confidence drips off of her and radiates from her in everything she does, yet deep down no accomplishment ever feels enough. Cunning, manipulative, and observant eyes are always seeking out opportunities to impress. To her, and in the eyes of her father, she is royalty, and must act as such. To take what is rightfully hers and then some is simply part of her being.
  
  She does not sugar-coat, but certainly can behave herself when the time calls for it. To most starting out, she is quite amicable, keeping her arms open for those to come closer. Of course, she does this to learn as much as she can from others, and see what she can get from them. Harsh? Probably, but she simply doesn't care much. • BACKGROUND

  
  

  Many within the Odili family assumed that Scar would not amount to much, especially when it came to parenthood. However, when the nameless mother of Nea left his first and only daughter upon the doorstep of his home, he felt a sick need to prove all of those damned "heroes" wrong. He'd be a splendid father. Mold the perfect heiress, and paint her in his image. This sentiment was never hidden from Nea. In fact, it was ingrained from a young age that the young girl must stay vigilant. The world is vast and there is much that she must take to make her own.
  
  The harsh attitude was coupled with harsher punishment. Nea refuses to speak of them, but needless to say, she learned quickly that misbehaving would be met with dire consequences, as does disappointing her father. As a result, her grades have always been spotless, record clean. She learned how to partake in rebellious and devious acts without being caught. Throughout her school years, she maintained a high standing in the social totem pole. No one dared to cross her, and she reveled in the momentary feeling of power. Over time, she became known to those around her as someone to keep at an arm's length. Many who have tried to befriend her have ended up thrown to the curb, unable to provide her with any real use.
  
  However, once The Academy opened its doors to villains, Nea saw an opportunity. Scar shared the same vision, knowing that his own daughter could certainly weave her way into the hearts and inner circles of many powerful heroes.
