Character Pages from other RP forums?

Been touching up on site rules, as I've not used RPN for well over a year now and may choose to start properly posting here again soon... a question has come to my mind.

Regarding the policy against linking to other forum RP sites... what about character pages stored on said sites? A news update from January states a character system is in the works, but in the mean time, would it be against the rules to post a link if I am using said character in an RP here?

If it's solely for the purposes of rping onsite, maybe. I would suggest making an admin contact to confirm the specifics anyway. It might be prudent to just transfer the character information to a cs onsite.

Also, to clarify, I'm not referring to posts/threads that could be considered character sheets in on themselves, but rather full character profiles complete with multiple pages, specialised formatting etc. I mean I'd definitely transfer info from the profile into a character sheet if I was applying or providing info to an existing RP, but in the case of putting out an interest check based on a character I want to RP, linking would be easier, especially given the amount of detail stored on said character profiles (including image galleries, statistic graphics, information tables etc).

I mean if it's against the rules, fair enough, I just want to make sure so I don't cross that line.

@Riik technically that would be allowed, so long as your link does not lead to any content that would be against our rules (ex. erotic content). I do have a couple of alternative suggestions for you, though. First, you could transfer them over to our character feedback forum, in which you can specifically state that you are not looking for feedback (in case that title "feedback" was deterring you earlier). If that does not suit you for organizational reasons, I would recommend using Charahub, which is similar to our old character showcase and has some interesting options for character sheets without necessarily having the distraction of roleplay forums. (That's just an assumption on my part, though. Their forums, which I'm not sure if they had last time I visited, is down right now, but the site is otherwise fully functional.)
