CATastrophe (ft. Solomon and Lucy

Lucy skipped alongside Solomon, holding his thumb in her hand as she guided him to her home. It was a rather humble house, small in width but two stories tall, having nice potted flowers decorating the blue sidings. It looked very cute, seemingly made for the short family. Cats littered the home, laying on the lawn, on benches, in the flower pots themselves, they were everywhere. "This is my home!" She whispered, leaning her head against his hand, pointing to the cats and naming them, "That's Alfie, Bear, Jonesy, Gatsby, Boo, Patches, Mable, Squirt, Tootsie, and...." Her eyes narrowed slightly as if she was trying to look for something. "Where's Mimsie?" She asked, her voice in a more hushed tone than usual, leading him to the small doorway and knocking.

Her mother opened the door with a smile on her face, looking at Lucy and then slowly, the smile turned into a scared frown as her eyes worked her way up Solomon's body. "W-Why, hello there!" She hesitantly exclaimed, trying to be friendly as she glanced from Lucy to Solomon. "H-Honey.... Who is this?" She asked, putting a protective hand on her shoulder. "Solomon." She simply stated, motioning to her holding his hand. Her mother beamed, looking as if she could cry of joy at the sight of her daughter having a friend. However, before she could say anything, Lucy cut straight to the chase. "Where's Mimsie?" She asked again, worry creeping into her expression.

The smile dropped off of her mother's face as she squeezed her shoulder, "Mimsie ran away, hun. She was there one minute and the next she was gone. We have the neighborhood looking for her but they haven't had any luck, yet. Do you want to try?" Lucy's eyes drooped down to look at her feet as she nodded solemnly. Her mother's sad gaze went up to Solomon and crossed her arms, raising an eyebrow and motioning down to her daughter in a surprisingly sassy way as if to say, "You gonna help her?"

What had he gotten himself into...? Solomon pondered on this as Lucy guided him to her home, trying as hard as possible to not allow hues of pink to dance across his features. Her tiny hand wrapped around his thumb had his heart running laps, and despite the default pissed off expression he had at the moment, the internal version of him was covering his face and begging for this cuteness to end. However, even upon arriving to her home it didn't: instead, the sweet girl happily introduced him to all her various cats in a hushed tone. Simply, he nodded along (the only thing he really could do at the moment) but then she faded off, almost as if she was confused. His brow raised, unable to hear her hushed tone now, but before he could question what was wrong she had him dragged to the front door.

Unsurprisingly, her mother was absolutely stunned as soon as she had noticed him. It was a reaction he was well used to now due to his height, so no real offence was taken when she gave him a look as if to say 'Holy fuck, you could kill my daughter if you so much as tapped her forehead'. He allowed the two to converse, glancing off to the side to see if anyone was staring in their direction for a moment, and as soon as he had focused forward again little Lucy had all her joy sucked away. Immediately, a frown tugged his lips downwards, and he opened his mouth to attempt to comfort the girl with optimism, but his eyes caught hold of her mother shifting. Curious, his gaze shifted to her, and immediately he was greeted with a huge amount of sass. From her expression and crossed arms, all she really needed to do now was tilt her hip to be a bitchy school girl, so that definitely caught him off guard. For a second his eyes widened, brows shooting upwards before he shook his head, dismissing his shock.

"R-right..." He mumbled under his breath before exhaling. Gently, he rested his free hand on the top of her head, giving her hair a bit of a ruffle. "C'mon." Solomon nodded his head backwards, "Sooner we go, sooner we'll find her."

"R-right..." Lucy sniffled some, looking up with tear filled eyes at Solomon as he said that he'd help her, trying to get rid of the tears with her hand as he patted her head.  "C'mon. Sooner we go, sooner we'll find her."  She nodded again, this time, more surely as she smiled optimistically. "Right." She said, turning around and leading Solomon again, leaving behind her mother who yelled, "She better be home by dark!"

As Lucy took Solomon down the road, she stopped and looked around, trying to determine where her kitty could've run off to. "Park...?" She asked, looking up at Solomon to see if he agreed. She knew Mimsie like she was herself, but she had never run away before, so it was confusing to her as to why. There must have been a feasible reason, but Lucy couldn't think about one at the time.
