    Gender:
    Female

    Height:
    1.75 meters

    Weight:
    58.967 kg

    Age:
    19 years old

    Alignment:
    Restituere (Previously Farmer's Band)

    Likes:
Nearly anything mechanical which include cars, motorcycles, bicycles, and so on.

    Dislikes:
She holds a strong contempt for anyone from the Raiders of the East often referring to them as savages.

    Opinions of others:

Charlotte Dubois - Setsuko can sometimes appreciate her bubbly personality but is alarmed by the oddness of her behavior. Her excessive happiness in face of such a world is comical to Setsuko especially when her cultish beliefs are mentioned.

    Captain William -
From what little she heard of the man Setsuko already holds some prejudice against him. Apparently, he is from Deepwater another land of robbers and murderers. But from his accent, she is curious about his true story.

Viktor Volkov - Setsuko often ponders what is under that mask of his after seeing the man. He appears to have no allegiance to any of the six factions. She would approach him if he didn't reek of alcohol like she reeks of oil whenever she worked.

Cathal Mckay - Setsuko is deeply wary of the man. If her suspicions are correct he is from the Raiders of the East which would instantly earn her contempt.

Name: Viktor Volkov
Gender: Male
Alignment: Neutral

Age: 24
Height: 1.84 M
Wight: 59 kg

Backstory:

The year was 2072, years after the plague had spread. The Russian air was cold and bitter but Viktor Volkov had long gotten used to it. As a young 20 year old man, the many bandits in the area would have loved to make him a slave, labouring away for their own profit. The snowy wastelands of Mother Russia were filled with danger, almost anything could kill you. The weather, the wildlife, and most dangerous of all... the people. That is why being able to defend yourself is important, and not just here but everywhere. For months, Viktor had remained hidden in his 'bunker', a makeshift base constructed in a cave together with his two companions, Kodiak and Artyom. Waiting for the right opportunity. The land was getting scarce, barren, empty. They could not stay here forever, word had it that the eastern part of America was the way to go, and what'ya know, a large group of local bandits were preparing a grand raiding expedition there.

The plan was simple, sneak into one of their ships and wait out the trip to America. However, geography would prove to be a great adversary, the trip involved walking from Moscow to St Petersburg, from there, the trio would board the ships and keep quiet till they arrived. Months of meticulous planning from both sides would be required to pull off such a feat, and months it took.

Fall of 2073, Viktor, Artyom and Kodiak have been positioned outside St Petersburg for a few weeks, the bandits seem all about ready to go. The flagship could be seen together with 3 small cargo ships and 2 other fighter ships. Being filled with crates of equipment and only a handful of guards, the three decided that hitching a ride on a cargo ship would be their best bet at remaining hidden. In the dark of night, the three sneaked into one of the cargo ships. The interiors were dark and rusty, and even so, it was impressive that bandits could piece together the resources to build such a 'fleet'. The trip would likely take maybe 1 to 2 weeks, food and water would likely be a problem.

Day 8, Artyom had overheard that water was about to run out, little did they know that 3 unsuspecting little rats were drinking away happily, albeit a portion being their own water.

Day 12, The bandits conduct a check on their cargo, the three are almost discovered until Viktor knocks out one of the inspectors. The others thought he passed out. Water has also officially run out.

Day 14, Due to dehydration, a small amount of the crew have either went into a coma-like state or died, a splash being heard every so often. Kodiak is pale and looks nauseous, but he says he'll be fine. Hours later, the three overhear bandit cheering, they must have spotted land. However, the cheering is interrupted by the sounds of combat, that familiar metal on metal noise. The screams of men filled the surrounding area, whatever bloodshed was going on up there would not bode well for the three. "Blyat!, we need to get out of here." Artyom said anxiously. Both Kodiak and Viktor nodded in dread agreement. As they ran to the deck of the ship, banners of Golden anchors were seen flying everywhere. Next second a loud boom was heard, followed by the small cargo ship going overboard, leaving the ocean to decide their fates.

A few hours after the battle, Viktor was found washed up on the shore, yet, it was only him. He searched everywhere for Kodiak and Artyom but to no avail. They were like kin to Viktor, they shared a bond stronger than blood. To this day, the fates of his brethren are still unknown but to Viktor, they died in that battle.

Personality:

Viktor is a stoic man with a will of iron, hardened by the cold winds of the Russian wastes. After the death of his two brothers, a mild depression set in, slowly growing each passing day. A quiet and reserved man, Viktor speaks only when spoken too or when he has something on his mind that he just needs to let out. To his friends, Viktor is a kind and caring man. To his enemies, Viktor is merciless, brutal, and spiteful, not ever giving a second thought if forced to kill.

Perhaps out of his Russian heritage, Viktor has a great love of Vodka. Helps him imagine what Russian life was like before the fall he says, but in his heart he knows that whatever he thinks of will never be a hundred percent accurate. As the Russian saying goes... "Ба́бушка гада́ла, на́двое сказа́ла" (no one can know for certain). He hopes that one day, Mother Russia will pick itself up and once again establish itself as a global super power, until then, he will survive, maybe kill a few men along the way.

In his past time, Viktor enjoys making weird concoctions using local herbs and studying the reactions which he records down in a notebook. Most recently, he made probably the worst smelling liquid known to mankind with the viscosity of honey, never again shall he dabble with such foul ingredients.

Despite all this, one of Viktor's favourite past times is taking a walk around the forest during the night, taking in the eerie atmosphere and watching the stars. Reminiscing about the days when Artyom and Kodiak still walked the earth. The forest reminds him that even in this fractured world of violence, there is still beauty.

Opinions of other characters:

Captain William 'Pretender' Law:

"That man belongs to the people that killed my brothers, I want to kill him but it would not be right to kill a man for his brother's deeds."

Charlotte Dubois:

"This one is blinded by faith, a dangerous thing to be blinded by. I'm surprised she survived for this long."

Likes:
-Vodka, as cliche as it gets
-Solitude
-Forests
-Winter
-Night
-Chemistry

Dislikes:
-Summer
-Crowded places
-Deepwater

Plauge Doctor Mask:

Made from scrap leather and a gas mask, it functions like it's latter component. However, the reason Viktor wears it is to remind him of the plague, how it all started and to hide a horrible scar he received when he was a teenager.

Inside the beak lies the filter of the gas mask and a variety of herbs that give the inside a nice scent.

Revolver:

Given to Viktor by his late father, this wonderful pistol shoots scrap metal bullets that can do considerable damage to a human being if used correctly.

Charlotte Dubois
General Info

Name: Charlotte Dubois

Appearance:

Type.%28Artist%29.full.1664299.jpg

Gender: Female

Age:
25

Alignment:
Cult of the Left-Cross

Height & Weight:
5’4” and 120 lbs
More In-depth

Personality:
Charlotte is a bubbly woman, almost freakishly happy in these dark times of the world. Her happy-go-lucky nature and friendliness feel unnatural and her smile almost seems forced. Despite this unsettling feelings she brings in people, she does try to be pleasant. She invites people to pray, enjoy the weather, take a stroll, or other activities. She’s an optimist, believing God will save them in the end and has a plan for each of them. But Charlotte doesn’t seem to be conscious and looks to be thinking deeply. Her actions often appearing automatic and unnatural, and she repeats the same exact thing she just said sometimes. Despite this, she has quick reflexes and can quickly react to things.
Of course, she is very religious and almost includes something about god in every other sentence. She prays when times are rough and praises the lord when times are at peace. She wishes god’s blessing on everyone she meets, and spreads god’s teaching whether you asked for it or not. Her religion is her very life, and swore herself to serve God. Charlotte will often scold or insist on certain things (eating fish on Friday, saying grace before eating, praying every morning and every evening, etc.) this is why she doesn't mind manual labor, or even becoming a servant in the name of her religion. Due to this, she can become malicious, delusional, or both if in extreme stress. Charlotte is extremely gullible and can be easily emotionally manipulated; she’s indecisive and unsure of her own future without religion. Due to this, she can be easily controlled by the cult.
Despite this, Charlotte does have a small bit of free will. If she doesn't like a person, it's obvious to tell from her passive aggressive actions and backhanded responses. It seems a part of her from her past is still alive when met with heavy opposition with her religion, often acting on her own. She’s a very loyal and faithful person, often doing things other people tell her to do. She loves talking to people, comforting them or just listening to their problems. Charlotte is very motherly, and often wants the best for people. She is very caring towards children, despite their beliefs or not. She has the patience of a saint (pun unintended), and doesn't force someone to tell her their personal demons.
Charlotte is very emotional, for her own sake or other’s. She can be easily flustered and embarrassed, and prone to denial. She tries to reserve emotions but may cry or burst into anger in private. Charlotte has been known to over dramatize little things, and take things very personally in the heat of the moment. This has caused her to do irrational acts, and say malicious words meant to hurt the other. Despite her faith, she can't easily forgive people and holds grudges against them. She can easily grow envious, despite her interests being innocent.

Backstory:
Born in 2051 AD in southern Florida, Charlotte was born to a traveling group of unaffiliated survivors and was lucky to survive past infancy. Her childhood was filled with starvation, fear, cold, and the feeling of inferiority. She was ousted as the runt, and given the least food. The little girl felt intense malice for her traveling partners because of this.
It wasn't fair that she should suffer because two drunkards decided that she was either a meat shield or face to trick other people into giving them rations and her mother only stood up for herself. The two idiots were the scum of humankind to her; gambling their rations, getting booze instead of water or food, often getting lost, doing dangerous and deprecating things for the group. Her mother didn't even care, she just mooched off of anything they brought back and always sided against her. Charlotte slowly began to hate her most of all and convinced herself she was found as a baby, and that she wasn't really related to her mother. Her only solace was a small ragged plush toy she found in the debris. The toy was Charlotte’s world, an escape from the darkness and something to confide in.
But as the girl grew, she began to be harassed by the two men in the small traveling pack. They’d leer at her, watch her as she undressed and bathed, try to pull off her clothes and other horrible attempts. Her mother didn't step in, too busy with her own affairs to notice. But she did unintentionally aid her by teaching her how to scavenge in the wasteland and what to do if she was caught. It wasn't for her daughter's safety but an investment in getting more supplies to keep herself alive. So Charlotte did fight back, often throwing rocks, punching or kicking them if they got too close. At a cost, she was dehydrated and starved but she was fine with that. She stayed because they threatened she would get infected, kidnapped or killed without them.
It was when they burned her precious toy that it got to her. Charlotte was unable to make anymore excuses to stay and immediately grabbed anything she needed and left. She stayed by the southern coast to fish or collect things and struggled to live. It took everything of her to just get through the days, and eventually her passion for living slowly dimmed. Charlotte lost her way, if she ever had one and couldn't find the strength to fight. That was until the day a missionary approached her and offered another chance of life.
Without any other choice, Charlotte accepted and was introduced into the cult. At first, she found it unsettling in the least and often on the fence about continuing her life in the faction if it wasn't for the shelter, food and water. Charlotte pretended to be enlightened but many could see through her lie. She wasn't convinced in the idea of prayer and doubted to existence of god. A head priest approached her and gained her trust, acting as a father figure she never had while also dragging her deeper into the cult. She was easily fooled, and began to listen to the sermons and treat the religion more seriously. It was when the priest began to slowly brainwash her that she began to become a true follower. He showed the safety and prosperity that the cult was, and threatened to take it away and allow her to die if she couldn't believe in their religion. He isolated her, provided no escape and would withhold paradise from her if she disobeyed. Charlotte wasn't aware of this, and thought her decisions were her own. Again, the threat of infection came up again, but instead the priest had her fear for her life and understand the suffering people go through while having the plague. It was simple: god will save the people if you prayed. Charlotte prayed feverently and became a faithful follower. She did everything she could to help the cause for God, and even volunteered to become a soldier. She was given brief training in self defense and weaponry before it was determined that she wouldn't be accepted into the calvary. Not because she wasn't a good soldier, but because, “that wasn't the path god chose of her,” the head priest said. Charlotte would visit the training camp to keep herself sharp in order to protect the other members as well as herself.
Unsure of what to do, she confided to the priest as she always does. He advised her to help in the orphanage and take care of the children; and that's what she did. Charlotte was an assistant to the matron and helped in whatever job you could think of in the orphanage. She slowly thought of the orphans as her own children and taught them the wonderful ways of prayer. She was strict when a child refused to follow, often punishing them by sending her to bed without dinner, locking them in their rooms, etc. Even though some days, the head priest asks her for a child and she never sees them again, she doesn't think anything suspicious of him. She slowly became knowledgeable in herbal medication to help the ill children and learned to be an impressive cook. Charlotte was approached by the head priest to head to an evaluation, so she could act as a missionary.
Personal Preferences

Opinions of other characters:

Captain William
Charlotte isn't too fond of him, intimidated by his agressive nature and would like to keep interactions brief. She prays for forgiveness for her cowardice, but she won't avoid him either.
Setsuko Mirthe
Charlotte sees her as a passionate young woman, and wishes to spend time with her. She finds her loyalty admirable and appreciates her jokes (even if it's at her expense).
Viktor Volkov
Charlotte respects him, but thinks he's mysterious and hard to approach. She doesn't mind his company, but she also keeps a good distance away due to him stinking of booze.
Cathal McKay
Charlotte finds him an enjoyable person to be around, but is cautious not to rub him the wrong way. She isn't very enthusiastic with the flirting.

  • Any type of alcohol, can't stand the taste or smell
  • Doing anything that can be considered a sin
  • Having her schedule interrupted

    Height & Weight: 5' 11" / 150lbs

Likes: Cats, sunlight, cigarettes, whiskey, graffiti, guitars, poetry, motorcycles
Dislikes: people who are jerks, being treated like he's stupid, cauliflower

    Opinions of other characters:

Setsuko Mirthe: Thinks that since they're both redheads who like motorcycles they ought to be best friends. Doesn't realize that she really, really hates Raiders and that this will be a problem.

Charlotte Dubois: A little concerned about some things he's heard about the Cult, but she seems sweet enough and he's more than willing to be friends.

Captain William: Also a little concerned about things he's heard, but hey, they can probably be drinking buddies?

Viktor Volkov: Mark Cathal down as scared and horny.

Julian King: Shaped like a friend.

Name: Genevieve Welsh
Gender: Female
Age: 25
Alignment: Restituere
Height & Weight: 168cm / 61kgs
Personality: Quiet, polite and respectful of others, Genevieve doesn't seem to stand out. She is a shoulder to cry on, and friendly listening ear and a chilled out individual who excels at small talk but feels awkward talking too personally about herself. She will listen and give advise for the personal matters of others if they ask for it or need it, however Vivi keeps her own feelings tightly locked. Like her father, she doesn't show fear or pain or sadness, but unlike her father she does not have an intimidating and confident stance and personality.

She has an opinion on everything, but she rarely points them out unless directly asked to. She doesn't like to cause arguments or drama with others and tries not to step on toes, rather she wants to help in any way that she can. Feeling useful is the only way for her to feel valued. Nerve having lost anyone before, and having both her parents still, a lot of people assume she is a weak person, but Vi is very brave and incredibly dedicated to making the world a better place. She wont back down from a fight, but she will rarely start one. She will throw herself in front of the bus to save even a strangers lives, however she has a hard time making meaningful friendships because she doesn't know how to express her own emotion and cannot deal with having help and support from others, it makes her feel useless.
Backstory: Born in 2050 to two unaligned drifters who had seen much misfortune with the outbreak in their family. They were with the raiders of the east before Genevieve was born, but when her mother discovered she was pregnant they decided to run away, like they had been planning to for some time. They were headed cross country hoping to find shelter with another faction. They were both very strong fighters, had some weapon training, and knew quite a lot about living off the land, they passed this on to their child as they traveled around. The two made it to the farmers, but couldn't stay there for long as their faction of raiders frequently attacked that area and they'd be putting them at risk by being there. For many years they laid low, living and camping and always moving, teaching their daughter how to survive, grooming her to become self-reliant. By the time she was 12 years old, the couple made it to their planned final destination, thinking that Genevieve would now be useful to the faction.

Luckily for them, Restituere didn't shoot on sight as they waved their white flag, and eventually assimilated them into their ranks.. Genevieve had a lot to live up to as her parents were both very impressive. But her skills with hunting, tracking and trapping were very handy indeed for long missions, she also had a knack for logic and strategy, if only her confidence fit her skill-set, however the lack thereof is why she never really advanced through the ranks, staying as a simple recuite, whiles her parents eventually became important people.
Opinions of other characters:

Charlotte Duboise
Vi thinks Charlotte is foolish for her beliefs, however she will not say this to her in so many words. If asked, Vi would just advise her not to blindly follow everyone who claims to be following god as it may be used against her. She thinks the girl is sweet and does not wish to see her hurt

Captain William
Very wary of this man, keeps her guard up whenever he is nearby, does not trust him at all.

Setsuko Mirthe
Vi respects Setsuko, enjoys her sense of humor, she might even have a small crush on the girl, but she is wary of her anger and often tries to calm her down making sure her decisions are rational. She is loyal to this young lady and will probably risk everything for her, especially since they share the same allegiance, and distaste for raiders.

Victor Volkov
She quite likes the man, she finds him very similar to her in their nature. She hopes to get to know him very well however she struggles with him getting to know her. Both of them being reserved means they can go a full hour in the same room sometimes without saying a work to one another but the silences are becoming more comfortable for Vi.

Cathal Mckay
Though his advances had to be shut down a few too many times, Vi feels this man means well and that he would make a fine friend. She enjoys time spent with him.

Name: Lesa Chiuta

Appearance:

Gender/sexual identity: Cis-queer woman

Age: 33

Alignment: Unaligned

Height & Weight: 5 ft. 6 in. 120 lbs.

Personality: Lesa is kind and generous. Her life experiences have been harsh, but she has risen above the evils of the world. She spends every day trying to live out her precious memories of her parents who were equally as good people. Lesa knows she has been given much in life despite being orphaned at a young age. She is a uniquely learned, intelligent and ferociously curious woman. She has a heightened sense of right and wrong; justice and injustice.

Lesa is also outgoing and feels strong connections to others - even strangers. Especially Post-Collapse, humanity, in her view, is deeply connected. The future of the species depends on cooperation and the sharing of ideas and resources. To this end, Lesa can be a little too quick to trust and extend patience toward others when they do not deserve it. Despite her gregarious personality, Lesa is an introvert when it comes to the end of the day. Tranquil time alone time, often solitude in a precious book or pristine natural habitat, is restorative to her.

Lesa is conflict-averse and hates wanton violence, but won’t let anyone speak for her or silence her concerns. Her experiences as a child make her anxious about uncertainty and disdainful toward weapons.

Backstory: Lesa is a second generation American - if that even means anything in the Post-Collapse world. In 2023, her parents managed to migrate to the Kansas City area with a still functioning NGO. They were young and came from a small, rural town in Zambia. By that time the Zambian economy had collapsed and Lesa’s parents had familial connections in the American Midwest so the decision to migrate seemed less dangerous than their other options. Lesa’s father was a skilled agriculturalist who found lots of cheap land for cultivation once they arrived. Either the previous owners had died so the local government had been giving it to farmers for food production, or families had fled and wanted to sell off the land to make new lives in other places. Lesa’s mother was a talented physician who had served in a local clinic in Zambia and addressed every medical issue under the sun for her community back home. Her generosity and friendliness won her many admirers in Post-Collapse Kansas City.

In 2043, Lesa was born. Two decades had passed since her parents had migrated to what remained of the United States. Due to her parents’ skills and positions they had carved out in the local community, Lesa lived a relatively comfortable life. She grew up with everyone in her small, close-knit community knowing who she was, but one fateful day, when Lesa was 9 years-old, a group of loud men came to their house. They were all white, but that didn’t really matter to Lesa. Most of their neighbors were. What did bother her was their weapons: machetes, hunting knives, and one even had a gun. Her parents were pacifists so they did not own any weapons. Lesa recognized some of them. She had sat in a church pew with Mr. Wilson last Sunday and had played with Mr. Jacobson’s daughter, Chomi, on Monday after homeschool. Those two men refused to look at her or her father. They kept their heads down instead. The leader of the group said they were the newly formed “Farmer’s Band” and Lesa’s father had stolen the land he was growing crops on. They had come to take it back. Lesa watched her father refuse and explain his family needed the land to survive. He even invited the group to join the local co-op he had organized among local farmers. The leader laughed for a second and in another stabbed her father! Lesa’s mother screamed for Lesa to run and run she did. She was the best runner in the village. She ran for hours not knowing why. Eventually, she didn’t know where she was. And so Lesa was orphaned.

She was lucky enough to be picked up by a traveling nun a few days later. The old nun had coaxed a grimy, hungry Lesa out from under a broken car with an old bag of M&Ms. Lesa had never had chocolate before, but more importantly, the nun began to talk about herself and who she knew and where she was going. By chance, she mentioned Lesa’s priest and that was enough for the little girl to explode into tears finally trusting the woman enough to reveal her pain. Lesa went to a place called “St. Mary’s,” a religious university in a nearby town that had been devastated by the pandemic decades ago. Yet the sisters of the nunnery connected to the school had survived and managed to create a strong, albeit small community of survivors on the old campus. There Lesa grew up with a diverse group of people from across the Midwest who had heard of the nuns’ hospitality and sought shelter with them. Several elderly professors from the university also survived and were committed to preserving human knowledge. In this small enclave, Lesa found a spiritually and academically nourishing community.

This too was lucky because Lesa proved to have an insatiable appetite for knowledge. Two of the surviving professors were married. One was a horticulturist who specialized in sustainable, small-scale subsistence agriculture. The other was an anthropologist who had studied other cultures before the collapse and how they managed land for farming and environmental purposes. The two took in Lesa after a year when she began to show signs of intellectual curiosity. Some of the lessons they shared with her came naturally to Lesa, the daughter of a skilled farmer and brilliant doctor. Others not so much, but the two were as supportive of Lesa as they were their survivor enclave.

After burying her adopted parents, Lesa is now a grown woman determined to make a difference in the world. To that end, she moved out east. Leaving behind the Midwest and the life she used to know. It is when she arrived in the remnants of Baltimore that a stranger approached her and sent her along for an “evaluation” by a group calling themselves “Restituere.”

Opinions of other characters: Lesa has yet to meet other characters.

Likes: People, knowledge, reading, books, sharing, collaboration, debate, sustainable agriculture, soil, botony, and, experimentation

Dislikes: Death, danger, uncertainty, violence, shouting, anxiety, unnatural habitats, unknowing, the destruction of knowledge, and willful ignorance
