Realistic or Modern Castaways ~ RP

sailboat-yacht-sailing-animated-gif.gif
Sailing is meant for fun. It takes away stress with the light rocking and the sounds of the waves. The ocean scent and breeze makes you want to close your eyes and bask in the moment. Sailing is for those who want to getaway from the real world and experience a new one, one on water.
Everything is going smoothly for this group of friends. Some innocent partying and drinks, music, dancing, romance. Things are perfect. Until the black clouds roll in, making everything go dark. The lightening flashes are the only things the passengers can see. The wind picks up, and they become frightened. Frightened to the point where they are holding on to survive.
The last thing they remember is the 15 foot wave that engulfs their yacht. The next thing they see is the sand, and a quiet swooshing sound of waves hitting the beach, and the chirps of foreign birds in trees they do not recognize. Where are they? Where is James, and Danielle? Had they not made it to the island?
They're nowhere close to home now. What will they do to survive on this island until help comes?

Harlow Sienna Roy
img-thing
Harlow woke up to the quiet, splashing waves of the ocean. The last thing she remembers is the boat, and the music, and the fun. Until a sudden storm formed and the waves took the yacht under water. Looking around, she squinted her eyes to the blinding white sand. With a frown, she weakly pushed herself up onto her knees, keeping her hands placed on the already heated sand.
Luckily, her cross shoulder purse was still hooked to her body, so her hands instantly moved to the zipper, looking for her water bottle. Closing her hand around the neck, she stood and twisted off the cap, taking a long drink. Where was she? Where were her friends?
Looking down the beach, she searched for any of them, only seeing a lump in the sand in the distance. Putting away her water, she started making her way over, to see if it was a person or a scrap from the boat, had her friends made it? Were they even alive? When she got closer, so noticed it moving lightly, unconscious but breathing. Taking off now, she knelt beside her close friend ____ (message me if you want this interaction to be with your character).
Panicking, she grabbed her water bottle once more, slowly giving her friend a few drinks. Her heart was pounding now. She wanted to go home. They needed a way home. This island visually, was too small for there to be any life. "Come on, wake up." She wanted to explore, but she couldn't do it alone "Please."
Location: Shoreline of the island.
Interacting: Whoever dibs first.

Nikki Taylor

nikki-reed-thirteen-tumblr-wallpaper-3.jpg
"Oh my god... My fucking head hurts..." Nikki reached up to rub her temples, and as she did so, felt the warm sand underneath her body. Clad in a bikini with jeans shorts over the bottoms, she could tell without looking that she was laying on sand. "The hell?" She whispered, forcing her eyes open. Everything was blurry, but she saw someone coming towards her. She barely lifted her head, finally able to reach up and rub her eyes enough to make out Harlow. The girl had a bottle of water, which Nikki gratefully accepted, as her mouth was pretty dry.

Forcing herself to a sitting position, Nikki groaned again, looking around now that her vision had cleared some. "Jesus Christ." She muttered. "Where is everyone? Where is the boat?" The yacht they had all been partying on wasn't there, or at least... not in one piece. Spotting something a few yards away, she pushed herself off the sand the rest of the way and stood, walking over to it. Bending over, she picked it up, gasping and dropping it once she realized what it was.

"It's a piece of the boat." She spoke, horrified, looking up at the other girl and then back around the shoreline. "Please tell me there are others. "I can't see anyone else."

Amelia slowly lifted her hand, sand stuck to the side of her face. "Ugh," she grumbled, rubbing it off. She attempted to open her eyes but the sun was too bright. She must have partied to hard, because the last thing she remembered she was on the boat having a good ole' time. Whoever didn't even bother to bring her it was going to get it. She wasn't alarmed until a wave came up, soaking her (not that she wasn't already soaked enough). "Gah!" she said, sitting up and squinting into the bright sunlight. She used her hand to shield her eyes, looking around. "What the hell?" she muttered. She could see two of the girls who had been on the boat with her - Nikki and Harlow. But they were laying on the beach too, but not in a cute suntanning way. Harlow gave Nikki some water, and Sabrina realized how thirsty she was. She looked around for the bag she had brought with her, eyeing it a few feet away. Whatever had happened, she must have grabbed her purse. Of course she would. She's not crazy.

Crawling over to it, she opened it and chugged the water bottle - or what was left of it. Before she knew it it was empty, but her thirst was parched for the moment. She turned around, sitting and looking at the other two girls, and around. What in the hell happened? There were pieces of the boat, she could see them now. "Shit," she said. "Fuck...fuck!" she was starting to panic. Something bad had happened, clearly, but where were they? They were pretty far away from shore... so how had they ended up here? This was definitely not the beach they left from. It wasn't all that nice, it was covered in broken shells and sticks, the tree line not as far from the waters edge as she would have liked. She didn't know what to do. She was frozen, sitting there.

(left the interaction open so that way it's not just three of us interacting and everyone else left out, but feel free to walk up to Amelia!)

He'd seen enough budget castaway films to figure out where this was going.

From the moment he'd coughed up a mouthful of disgustingly salty water and removed the headpiece of seaweed that had somehow mistaken him for a mermaid, Rayne had known his plight. That didn't mean he'd accepted it, however. Quite the contrary.

The teen sat up in a daze, tearing through his waterlogged backpack until he found his MP3 player and solar charger, both unharmed in their waterproof bag.

Phew.

Now, a responsible person would've gotten up and searched for their friends, no matter how miserable they felt at the prospect of dying on a forgotten island. Rayne, however, had never been responsible.

Instead, the dark-haired boy simply looked around without even standing, spotting a group of three in the distance. With the at once frustrating and reassuring knowledge that he wasn't alone, Rayne simply popped in his earbuds and laid back down on the warm sand.

"Life just freaking sucks," he muttered, closing his eyeliner-smudged lids as the waves melded with his music.

Selfish, maybe. But it's not like he wouldn't be interacting with them later. A bit of alone time with his favorite album wouldn't hurt anyone, right?

Diego Santana

Sun. Sand. Water. Trees? No that's not right. Surely it should just be sun, water and a boat. Diego's eyelids slowly began to open before they clamped shut again from the sea water stings. "Shit.." He sort of groaned out. His throat was dry unlike much like everything else. Slowly rubbing his face with the palm of his hand he was able to sit himself up onto his backside before gazing out into the ocean. Diegos head was spinning and his body ached, case of why he was groaning so much. He hadn't even noticed the three that were down the edge of beach yet. But it didn't take long before he began looking around for someone or something to make a movement of some kind. That's when he spotted Amelia.

Quicker than ever, he tried to get himself over to her before noticing a large gash as he stepped down. "Fuck. Shit. Ballocks." He was cursing like a nun behind the curtains. He sighed before hopping his way over. It took him some time but he soon made his way there. "Amelia!" He bellowed out still hopping like a jack rabbit. Once he got there he instantly put his arm round her. "You okay, you aren't hurt are you? Need water? We should find everyone else." Diego just began spitting out words. He wasn't panicking just worried. Well maybe both, both really. But he knew that if they were to be safe and survive for however long they'd need to, panicking was not a good option.

Daniel Payne
Danny's breath hitched, and suddenly he was sputtering sea water onto the white sand in shuddering, heaving gasps. It burned in his throat, making his eyes water. He blinked through it, choking. The muscles of his torso bent and strained, trying to pull himself from the ground while expelling the sea water from his body. Soon enough, he began to get his breath back. It came smoother and smoother, clean, yet still tasting of salt on his tongue. His eyes were fixed close then, simply focusing on breathing, on the repetitive movement that was so mundane only minutes ago, yet now seemed like an involved process.
Once he had gathered his bearings, he pulled himself to a sitting position, cautiously, his eyes opening with a wince. It was too bright now, despite hardly any time passing. His eyes adjusted, and it was blue that met him. He had always loved the color, it was his favorite in particular, yet now he found no comfort in it. The blue was so expansive it threatened to swallow him up. The line of the sea blended in with the line of the sky, and there was hardly a horizon.

What had happened? He was disoriented beyond belief, but he didn't take time to exactly work everything out. Action seemed a much more attractive option. He pulled himself upright, standing. The sun beat harshly down on his bare torso. His swimming trunks were still tied tight over his hips, and when he looked beside him in the glaringly white sand, he saw his belongings scattered from his bag.

Panicked, he looked as far as he could manage along the beach. He briefly entertained the thought that perhaps he was entirely alone - the only one who survived the incident. Fear coursed through him palpably, yet he tried to disregard it almost aggressively. He couldn't have been the only one.

He cupped his heavy hands over his mouth to make his voice ring louder. "Hey?! Hello?!" He shouted out, hoping someone would hear, hoping someone was able to hear in the first place.

James and Rose Richardson
Blue eyes fluttered open. The first thing James did was touch his head. His head was throbbing and his whole body seemed to be aching. His grey shirt and blue gym shorts were soaked. Thankfully he still had both of his shoes on his feet. He stood up and brushed off as much sand as he could and looked around. Sand, ocean, and trees? This wasn't right. At first he was on the yacht with everyone having a great time. Suddenly things went crazy and he was washed up here on this island.

"I must be dreaming." James thought as he pinched himself. Nope still here and now completely alone. Adrenaline hit him and instantly he thought of Rose and the rest of his friends. His mind started to race with worst case scenarios. "Just breath, calm down, and take a minute." James told himself. Advice he would normally tell his clients and it worked. He couldn't have been the only one to survive and working with more people would increase their chances of survival.

He started walking along the coast. Eventually he saw Rose washed up on the shore, starting to wake up. Immediately he rushed over to her. "Rose, are you okay?" he asked gently and helped her stand. He moved her soaking wet hair out of her face. Her blue eyes getting adjusted to the bright sun. "Well you look okay and and your clothing is still intact. We should find the others, think you're good to walk?" James asked.

Rose nodded "Yeah, let's get going, I'll be fine." she assured her brother. The two walked in silence for a minute before Rose spoke. "Thank God I have you here. I just hope everyone is okay." she said. "I'm sure the others survived. We have to try and stay positive right now." James said. After what seemed like an eternity in the burning sun James and Rose saw Harlow, Nikki, Sabrina, Diego, and Ryane. James sighed in relief as they approached the group.

"Thank God everyone's here! Is everyone okay?" James asked.

Jackson Wang
Jackson had been laying there as if paralyzed what had finally forced him to get up was a large wave of salt water that entered his mouth and eyes. Gasping for air Jackson hurriedly struggled to fight the water to stand up, his legs didn't seem to cooperate. Sitting up Jackson didn't have time to react as soon as he sat up he began coughing water instantly came out of his mouth. Jackson sighed in relief looking around he saw figures close by Jackson trying to get up and away from the water he began forcing his legs to take small steps, his knees were bent making it easier for him to walk. By the time he reached the group his legs seemed to return to their normal selves Jackson thought they must have been numb. Jackson had just walked into the group and scoffed when he heard what James had to say, "Yes, James thank god everyone is here! Except I wasn't here and Allison you dimwit. " He said pushing James out of the way clearly annoyed.

Harlow frowned at her friend's question with a shrug "I don't know where they are. You were the only one I found since I woke up..." she sat back and glanced around, and when she saw a few of the other members of the group starting their way toward them she sighed in relief, glad she and Nikki weren't the only ones on the island. Standing up, she rubbed her bare arms. She had a chill. It was cold with being damp and the wind coming from the ocean.
When she heard a quiet holler she cupped her hands around her mouth and shouted back, "over here!" The voice had sounded an awful lot like Daniel. And when she heard James come up she teared up. She had liked this man for a while. And him being around made her feel a little safer. "I'm glad you and Rose made it" she said, her voice quivering slightly as she hugged both James and Rose.
"What the hell happened. Do you guys remember anything?" She asked, backing away, moving to help Nikki up. Just then she caught a glimpse of Amelia not too far away "Are you okay Amelia?!" She said, loud enough for the girl to hear her. "How do we get off this island" She mumbled to herself, running a hand through her hair.

Amelia's head shot up as someone called out her name. From behind her she could see someone hobbling over to her. It took her a moment before she could make out who it was. "Deigo?" she asked as he got closer. "I'm fine," she said. He was clearly freaking the hell out, and so was she, but him freaking out was making her freak out even more than she already had been. "Diego, calm down," she said, feeling a bit irritated on top of her worry. "What happened to your foot?" she looked down, he was bleeding. She couldn't help but examine his body. Diego was hot, there was no doubt about that, but now was not the time.

People were starting to yell now. Some called out for others, some asking if others were okay. It was getting too intense for Amelia, too real. Were they on a TV show? Because that's the only place this could actually have happened to someone. How had they even made their way to the shore, anyways? She couldn't remember seeing the shore anywhere close by.

"I'm good!" Amelia responded to Harlow. "We should go over with the others," she said to Diego, looking at him. He couldn't walk well, clearly, and he was already getting sand in his cut. Gross. "Here," she said, moving to his side and putting her arm around him. She probably wasn't the ideal person to help but she could probably get him over to the others. Plus, she didn't mind being close to him. Normally she wouldn't have helped someone like this, though. All things considered, she still wasn't one to help others much.

James Richarson
James was angry by Jackson's remark. It's not like he just survived their yacht sinking, somehow managed to not drown in the ocean, and was severely dehydrated. The man was bound to make a few errors. He took a deep breath and ignored Jackson. Everyone was bound to be irritable due to their circumstances. The last thing he wanted to do was fight with Jackson.

"Sorry Jackson head's a little foggy still. Now that you mention it Daniel isn't here either." James replied cooly. Just as he mentioned Daniel he heard someone yelling, a male voice. Most likely Daniel. He smiled when Harlow came up and hugged him. Clearly she was shaken up by the incident and starting to tear up. His first instinct was to make her feel better. "Hey no worries, we're okay. I'm glad you're safe and here with us too." James said. She was the only girl he had developed feelings for in quite awhile and she felt the same. However now wasn't the time to worry about that.

Rose smiled and hugged Harlow back. She knew that James was developing feelings for her so Rose made sure to be nice to her and get to know her. "I think something broke in the yacht. A pipe maybe? I don't remember. Everything is still a blur." Rose replied, trying to recall what happened. "Once we get everyone we should probably try to find fresh water. Hopefully someone will wonder what happened to us after a couple days and the coast guard will start looking for us." James suggested, hoping to put some people at easy. Rose smiled and nodded in agreement with James.

That's when James noticed Diego's foot wasn't looking too well. Amelia was helping him stand up. James wasn't a doctor by any means, but sand in his cut wasn't good. Traveling would be hard on them, and who knew how far they would have to travel in order to find any fresh water. "Otherwise we can think of something else." he added, wanting the groups input.

Allison Weber

It wasn't until the salty ocean water splashed against Allison's face, that she came to her senses. It was the tingling pain of the salt in a few bruises on her face that made her wake up. Boat, wave, and after that, nothing - that's all that she was able to remember right now. She opened her heavy eyelids only to be blinded by the sun that was hitting her face. Allison heaved herself up with her still wobbly arms, ran her fingers through her hair that felt stiff from the salty water and sand, and looked around. Her clothes, which consisted of a tank top and a pair of jeans, were completely drenched, the sand sticking to it, so trying to pat it off wouldn't help much.

Only then she realized what exactly was happening. Looking around this unknown place she didn't see but sand, water and trees. Not only that she didn't know where she was, she also didn't know where the others were. She took a few deep breaths, trying to calm herself before she starts spiraling. She closed her eyes, trying to make a mental checklist of what she needed the most.

"Alright, don't panic. Be organized. You have to get out of these wet clothes before night or else you'll get sick. Seperate clothes? In the bag. Oh but first, find the others, being alone is dangerous... Oh also find s water source...?"

She tried her best to not feel desperate, but after all, she was stranded somewhere in the middle of nowhere. She tried taking a few steps, slowly and steadily, before walking in one of the two directions, hoping to find at least someone from the group.

Aiden Anderson

Aiden sat up head pounding. He brought a hand to press against his temple, trying to ease the pressure in his head. He slowly opened his eyes to the bright, hot sun, that beat down on his body. The second he noticed the sand that covered his hand and the sound of crashing waves that filled the silence, everything came crashing back. The sudden change of the weather the giant wave toppling the boat, and plunging everyone into the roaring waters. Everyone. Aiden whipped around, pain flaring through his head his vision blurring a bit on the corners, as his eyes scanned the beach for any sign of his group of friends.

In the distance Aiden saw some figures standing. He pushed himself up, his head throbbing in pain, when he stood he noticed the debris from the wreckage of the boat. He slowly made his way over to his friends. Hoping they were all okay.

“Guys? He called hoping to catch their attention. Hopefully things were gonna she okay. But Aiden had a really bad feeling about this.

Diego slowly began to calm down after he reached Amelia. He nodded several times before speaking again. "I dunno I woke up and next thing I know, boom! Foots gone funky." He shrugged before glancing over to others around the beach.
He looked to Amelia when he was helped up before hopping a little on his good leg. "What can I say love giving a little more excitement to something that is already exciting." He was trying to build morale, but at this point, it wasn't going to work until they'd found everyone again. He began to try and hop without putting too much weight onto Amelia, he felt bad she was having to help him like this. After so many years of being able to look after himself, he would now have to rely on someone other than him. But he would adjust slowly. "Thanks for helping me." He smiled his usual smile towards her before looking over to where the others were stood. "What happened exactly?"
