Pandora

Pandora (パンドラ) are genetically modified girls who undergo intense training at special military schools in order to become soldiers and learn how to fight the Nova, creatures from another dimension that are invading the Earth. A Pandora's strength originates from Stigmata, which are implanted into their backs, giving them superhuman speed and strength that is ten times that of an average person and allows them to use special Volt Weapons and Volt Textures that respond to their bodies

Pandora are the world's military response to the Nova threat. In order to qualify to become a Pandora a girl needs to have a compatibility check in order to be accepted. All young girls are required take a test to measure their compatibility, which usually takes place when they are 10. It can take years for an individual to receive their test results. Compatibility with Stigmata is an inborn trait of Pandora and not many girls are accepted, resulting in a limited supply of Pandora.

A surprisingly large number of Pandora come from wealthy families, a fact that has been noted by both students and members of the military. Girls are then sent to training camps as Cadets for six weeks. There they are undergo intense and brutal training to prepare them for the worse. Once they have proven themselves and have survived the unforgiving training, they are sent to various Genetics Academies around the world. Pandora are then implanted with a certain amount of Stigmata which typically ranges from two to four with exceptional Pandora bearing between five and eight. Pandora have a strict hierarchy. Lower year Pandora are to treat their Seniors with respect and are to obey them. Harsh punishment await those who are rebellious. While most Senior Pandora only punish the Lower Years because it is necessary and for the sake of discipline, some take it too far and are just abusing their higher ranking. 3rd Year Pandora are in control of the student body but this is due to the 4th Years being integrated into the Chevalier during their last year.

Few times in a year, Pandora participate in events called Carnivals wherein they fight and are given their ranking in terms of power. In Carnivals, it is not against the rules for a Pandora to kill her opponents. A Pandora's ranking greatly affects her influence and authority in Genetics.

Pandora: Grace Locklear

Name: Grace Locklear
Age: 20
Ranking: (Will be) 2nd Rank (2nd Year), Current rank 4th (First Year)
Nationality: American
Race: Cherokee

Appearance: Standing at 5’8 with a lithe and moderately curvy form; many other Pandora envy Grace’s looks. Her skin is tan and her eyes amber. She has a toned body from years of physical training and genetic modification. Her eyes are dark purple and her hair silky black. At West Genetics Japan Branch; she is a notably "exotic beauty."

History: Grace was born in Oklahoma in the United States. Her life as a child was happy and contented if a little on the stricter side due to her family’s traditional and military inclined life-style. The first female of her family to do military service, her family was extremely proud when she was selected to be a Pandora. She excelled in the US Army's basic training and has done well above average during her first year at West Genetics. Excited to battle in the second year Carnival; her goal is to become the first ranking Pandora.

Personality: Grace is often described when people meet her for the first time as the “strong, silent type.” This is a slight misconception. Grace is rather social and playful; however, she says few words preferring to listen more than talk and her demeanor radiates calm. She is rather carefree however does take her duties as a Pandora very seriously. While outside of battle she is a calm, in battle she is aggressive to the point of some calling her a berserker.

She enjoys fighting and is slightly sadistic. A civilized lady in societal events, and a savage warrior in battle; Grace has a respectable and well liked reputation in the school. Despite this good reputation; a high standard and distaste for pandering has left her with no Limiter. For a single digit, this is an embarrassing situation to be in and has led to the start of some unsavory rumors about her in the Limiter community.

Limiter

A Limiter (リミッター, Rimittā) is the male partner of a Pandora, whose primary role is to neutralize the Freezing field emitted by a Nova so that their Pandora may attack them.
Limiters act mainly to support the Pandora and have four main duties:

1. Deploying an Anti-Freezing field to lift the hostile Novas' Freezing.
2. Deploying their own Freezing field which can be used to restrain other targets, including low-level Novas.
3. Provide combat medical aid to Pandora.
4. Deploy Volt Shields to protect Pandora from ranged attacks.

Becoming a Limiter requires an aptitude for Stigmata similar to Pandora thus not all boys are accepted into Genetics. But unlike their female counterparts, there is no shortage of boys with the required compatibility. To be a Pandora's Limiter, the Limiter will need to be "Baptized" by a Pandora. A Baptism ceremony will be carried out in which the Pandora will implant one of her Stigmata into his body. This will give the Limiter access to the Freezing and Volt materialization abilities. In order to ensure better compatibility and synchronization between Limiters and Pandora's, a Limiter is always younger in age. Limiters are usually paired with their Pandora during the latter's second year at Genetics.

The relationship Limiters may have with their Pandora varies. Some relationships are romantic, sibling like, purely friendship based, or simply professionally. Limiters do not have the same durability as Pandora and can be taken down easily. The casualty rates for Limiters are five times higher than a Pandora. Do to this many, Pandora are very protective of their Limiters. Some Pandora however are infamously known for being cold and uncaring towards their Limiters; simply seeing them as disposable tools that can easily be replaced.

Limiter: Alexander Mythins

Name: Alexander Mythins
Age: 19
Ranking: 1 (1st Year)
Nationality: Greek
Race: Nigerian & Greek

Appearance: Standing at 6'2 with a well built frame brown-skinned; Alexander standout from most crowds. His daily physical training has left him in excellent physical condition and he has had more than a few glances thrown his way during his time in the Greek Navy and now at Genetics. With a kind face most people find it easy to approach him and are quick to pick up most of his feelings from his expressions. He is rather an open book when caught off guard (which is often in situations outside of combat or military related matters) and defaults to wearing his heart on his sleeve. His appearance is almost always well maintained and many would be hard pressed to find a wrinkle or speck of dust on his clothes.

History: Since he was a little boy all Alexander dreamed of was being a soldier. With no known military history in his family; his mother and father often tell people that he is the first man of the Mythins' 200 year long history to serve. Alexander's choice of military service often leaves his family flabbergasted at their son's decision, and has had them sending more than few emails demanding he return home and switch to a safer career. Despite his family's less than enthused attitude towards his career; his two years spent in the Hellenic Navy was exemplary. Once it was discovered he was Stigmata compatible, he was quickly scooped up by a Limiter Recruiter and the rest is history.

Personality: Straight-lased and painfully organized are how most people describe Alexander. He is studious, self-disciplined, and uncompromising. A natural born leader and unafraid of anything in the world (expect spiders); few every see the young in anything but a leadership position. The type of person to "not waste a moment of the day", if he is not studying biological science, he is training in combat rescue, if not that, then studying past Nova attacks. He is a rising star in the Limiter ranks; surprisingly however, he takes little pride in his stellar standing or his hard earned skills.

Alexander's dedication to self improvement has caused him to have little time to gain friends, relationships beyond professional, or interpersonal social skills. Outside of a leadership position or mission, he is painfully awkward. He struggles to relate to peers his own age and knows little about what is "current and hip." He finds it difficult to relax in most "normal' settings and has a bad habit of trying to relate anything he doesn't understand to something military relate. His biggest and perhaps only failing as a Limiter is the likely intense difficulty that will come with forming a partnership with a Pandora.
